Anyone else want to join me in getting ready for ivf in 2013? Good egg buddies wanted!!!

Hello,

Dh and I have been trying for over 2 years and had one failed ivf (Icsi) attempt at the Argc last spring. We are going to go again in the new year.

I wondered if anyone else was planning to do the same? And whether anyone fancied joining me in 'princessing' (stolen from style & beauty :) ) for ivf?

I'm not sure what this means in terms of what I'll do, really hoping for some help in researching how to get the best eggs ever, and perhaps how to improve dh's little swimmers....

Anyone up for being a good egg buddy?

I wish there was an EPU near me I could self refer to, but I don't think there is. I have had a look online, but most of the self referral ones seems to be in London. My GP won't refer me unless I have pain or bleeding.

You may as well get yourself in the system didals at my GP surgery there is only one day a week booking in appointments are done, so it is nice to know I've got a slot. As for the libido question - we have not done the deed since before ET, I have been too afraid, then too tired/icky feeling. He is very understanding though, he's got two working hands after all...!

EuroShagmore · 14/02/2013 13:23

didals I'm not doing anything until after the 6 week scan with my ACU. I think I need to see it before I move to that stage.

I'm the opposite - since a couple of days after transfer I have been as horny as hell. Blush I keep having sechs dreams. Double Blush. I am currently experimenting with the back door for the Cyclogest in the hope that I will be able to persude Mr Euro to do something about it at the weekend. I have been too nervous up to now, but something has got to give! I'm like a woman possessed.

Dildals · 14/02/2013 14:43

delilah the booking in appointments are done in the hospital here, so that's OK. Like euro I don't want to be in there too early.

euro Classic. Mr Dildals is not worried about getting messy with a bit of progesterone residu, but I am missing out on oral sex, dammit. ;-) Did I read in earlier posts that you live in SE4? I am in SE15, so we're South London 'neighbours' (sort of) :-).

EuroShagmore · 14/02/2013 15:10

Yes, I'm in SE4 so we are pretty close by!

Sharonbenn · 14/02/2013 17:14

Hello ladies

Congratulations to Caip and Euro for the line and well done Northey for the EC.

Good luck to Isabeller for tomorrow. Sorry if I've missed anyone who has news.

We are proving to be a lucky lot. Fingers crossed it continues.

Highlove when do you start down reg? I am 2 weeks today and counting.

Can I ask a question? We are thinking of going away for Easter. Just to visit family so nothing major but it will be about 4-5 days after ET. I am having 2 weeks off work and Easter falls nicely in the middle. In your experience is it a good idea to travel at that time? It will be a train from London to Yorkshire to stay with the inlaws. They don't know about treatment but my MIL is super nice and is the perfect person (apart from my mum) to look after you if you need it.

Also just out of curiosity and I hope no one minds me asking but is this the first time for anyone else? I can't remember.

Have a good evening.

Sharon x

Northey · 14/02/2013 17:15

Well done for doubling, delilah, and good luck for tomorrow, isabeller.

euro, how are things going spotting-wise?

delilahbelle · 14/02/2013 17:34

Grr. Have told DH at least 3 times my aversion to chocolate (also tea, and anything greasy)
So he gets be a lovely box of chocolates and looking at them makes me want to vom. Sad

wifeofdoom · 14/02/2013 17:41

Can I join you please? Day 1 today for me, 2nd cycle, last one negative. Feel rotten from the buserelin - sure worse than last time. Trying to be positive...

Sounds like you have a lucky thread - congrats to the bfps!

Northey · 14/02/2013 17:47

Hi wifeofdoom. Yes, the more the merrier. Sorry to hear about your last cycle. Is this TTC your first child?

Sharonbenn · 14/02/2013 17:52

Hello wifeofdoom
Welcome. Is this day 1 of long or short cycle? I'm sorry your last go didn't work out. This is my first go and I'm 2 weeks behind you. Good luck.

EuroShagmore · 14/02/2013 17:52

wife you have my sympathies. I felt absolutely dreadful on burserelin (to the extent that I abandoned my conventional cycle and went for natural IVF instead). It is a really tough thing for your body to go through, so be nice to it!

sharon I know some people like a lot of rest during the 2ww, but I chose to carry on as normal. I rested on the bed where ET was done for 15 mins (as instructed), went for a pee, got dressed and then got the train/bus back to work. The only time I took off was the day of EC itself. I decided I just wanted everything to be as normal as possible. I have got as far as a positive test, so it obviously wasn't too detrimental, but I know that not everyone will feel that this sort of approach is right to them. I would want to make sure I have reserved seats on the train though, as that is a long journey to be standing under any circumstances, but I would have done the journey. One thing to bear in mind: 4-5 days after ET will be pretty close to an early test date. :)

norfy it seems to have eased off, thankfully. I still have a dull ache in my womb area, but frantic googling shows that seems to be pretty normal. I'm still nervous, but hanging in there at the moment. How are you feeling after EC?

Good luck to those starting cycles and the upcoming testers!

Northey · 14/02/2013 18:02

Not at all bad, actually. Was back working on my blackberry in the cab home from the clinic Blush. Have just had a huge bowl of soup and am now in bed resting and reading. What i reallu want is a long hot bath...

Am glad the spotting has stopped.

Sharonbenn · 14/02/2013 18:58

Thanks Euro. I was hoping to resist early testing and thought that maybe being away would help that Wink. I've taken the time off cause I've got holiday owed and I thought that maybe I'd need a rest after it all.

HontyTont · 14/02/2013 21:29

northey 7! That's fab we'll done you! How are you feeling? Any pain? Fingers crossed for lots of embryos...you must be feeling pretty proud of yourself and I'm guessing Mr Northey managed OK!

Delilah woohoo for the increasing Beta!

Is good luck for tomorrow...lets continue the amazing luck on this thread!

sharon I'm flying to New York approx 6 day after ET...depending on when it is, I know I have a blood test on day 5 so will be here for that and then we are off! This is my first time too

wife hello...sorry to hear about your last try, hope the luck of this thread rubs off on you. Sorry you are not feeling great on the buserelin....I felt fine with it but as I'm on a long cycle I'm now starting to feel quite uncomfortable, not sure if its the Merional or the buserelin or just the fact I have a couple of lemons where there re supposed to be walnuts!

So another scan today...that's 4 days in a row and I'm back tomorrow too. So it looks like I defo have 4 follies that will be good at EC and potentially another 2 or 3.

My scan today was at CRGH, I usually have it at their satellite centre but I think they were doubting what was being recorded and called me to be scanned "properly"....I'm glad they did as I had a stand in on Monday and I think she recorded my sizes wrong. Anyway....what can you do?

My hope is the 3 smaller ones will have at least reached 14mm tomorrow so they have a chance of maturing when I trigger. It would've fab to trigger tomorrow night as I am getting quite uncomfortable now.

Will give you an update tomorrow

Big hellos to everyone else

Happy valentines day xx

HontyTont · 14/02/2013 21:32

I'm getting sick of these blood tests too....my arms look like a drug addicts! Bruised and pin pricked!

It will be worth it...I hope! (Fingers crossed)

HontyTont · 14/02/2013 21:48

Oh yes....sex...really?????

It's the last thing I feel like right now...but it's "forbidden" during stimming anyway - isn't it?
When is it ok to do the deed? What advice has everyone been given?
Surely between EC and ET should be OK? But then after ET not so much until 7 wks?

Any help would be gratefully received Blush

Northey · 14/02/2013 21:49

They really are being thorough with you, aren't they, hont?

MrNorthey was surprisingly efficient! They took him off to JIAP, telling us to have a hug goodbye, as I'd prob be gone by the time he returned. Five minutes later he reappeared looking a mixture of smug and sheepish!

Northey · 14/02/2013 21:50

Not after EC, because of the risk of infection where the needle has pierced your vaginal wall!

EuroShagmore · 14/02/2013 22:26

We haven't done it since a couple of days before EC. I was too sore immediately after EC and worried about the risk of infection, and then I had a two day transfer and have been worried since about shaking it loose! Plus the Cyclogest doesn't exactly make you feel sexy... Hence today's back door experimentation (yuck but fine once in a while for sechsy time).

keepitgoing · 15/02/2013 07:17

Checking in for news of is's pee stick, caip's darker line, and northey's fertilisations... Good luck all!

keepitgoing · 15/02/2013 07:18

PS, five minutes, north! Nice one MrN!!

CaipirinhasAllRound · 15/02/2013 07:25

Good luck isabeller and northey

My line's no darker. I took it into the bedroom to show DH and we couldn't even see it in there so had to go back in the bathroom. It was there but so very faint. Have to call the clinic again today so will see what they say

By the way, I've stopped the pessaries now. Our clinic only prescribes them up until pregnancy test day

HontyTont · 15/02/2013 07:51

Yes very through north.... And I'm not sure why, don't know whether to be worried of grateful?

Will they give you an update today on the embryos to be?

Let us know what the clinic say caip

And hope all is going well Is

Northey · 15/02/2013 08:04

Can you press the clinic for a blood test, caip? Or maybe try a devil's own work CB Digital, to do away with the squinting?

Clinic will phone some time after 10am. What if none have fertilised?

keepitgoing · 15/02/2013 08:21

My bet's on six, north. You have been preg before, you can make embryos! IOTO, anyway. :)
