Doff your top hats, lean on your canes, 'tis a Victorian Christmas for the BESH. Baste those turkeys in Victoria & Albert style, and maintain a stiff upper lip when you fill in the BESHtionnaire to see if you are cynical stoic enough to win a Baybee.

Als MrNorth the quality of your egglets does not seem to be the issue, its the little hairs in the fallopian tubes, right? (I think fallopian tubes is a naturally victorian word, just from its sound). Also, I need to find my trainers to go and row soon. SB is sleeping in the same room, I suspect he won't be overly pleased!

Northey · 22/12/2012 07:23

An excellent point, mrLeamingtonSpa, and one which I had not considered. I shall henceforth abandon egg-related guilt and just get on with the rest, which all sound like reasonable early by lifestyle stuff anyway.

Where do you row? Are you on the Tideway or do you live Elsewhere?

JethroTull · 22/12/2012 10:55

Stamp out the Hunners right away. Language like that is just Not Called For.

I'm impressed with the rowing Drizz. It's binning it down here, boardering on torrential so I am not leaving the house. The dog won't even leave the house it's that wet.

I've got the most painful boobs ever. I don't understand how this is possible - the drugs are meant to be getting rid of hormones right? So why do my boobs hurt?? Ouch. Also I am so grumpy. I'm hoping the fecking droid turns up soon. Meh.

ArielTheBahHumbugMermaid · 22/12/2012 11:10

Anyone who ROWS is a virtuous person in my book, drink or no drink - that's rows as in boats, not as in "with husband". Though I guess you could row in a boat with your husband. With oars

ArielTheBahHumbugMermaid · 22/12/2012 11:11

We have more Floods. Tis the Age of Aquarius after all.

Northey · 22/12/2012 11:15

I must leave the house or I will sit and eat all day. Fat or drowned. What a quandrary.

ArielTheBahHumbugMermaid · 22/12/2012 11:18

Just a small point: I'm not usually militant about this, but I object to a bunch of infertile women being addressed as "girlies". I know I'm only being picky, but....

Northey · 22/12/2012 11:19

Yes. That jarred with me as well.

6am?

My mother is now ordering us not to come to theirs for Christmas because of the rain after making a massive fuss about us being there.

EuroShagmore · 22/12/2012 12:18

drizz I'm with you on your approach. I've tried uber clean living. It makes me miserable. And not diffed, obv.

I would have gone for a run this morning, but my acu lady told me not to. I'm to eat lots, avoid exercise, stop trying to lose weight and try to get my energy levels up. I luffs her.

I have the house to myself this weekend. I loved loved loved living alone and still find sharing a house a bit crowding, although KFZK is lovely. The only problem is last night a GIANT SPIDER ran across the living room. Xmas Shock My friend who was over is fine with them and volunteered to deal, so with the words "just don't let the fucker get away" I retreated. She let the fucker get away . I only managed to sleep last night by staying up super late so I dropped straight off. I know it is going to reappear later. Probably on my head. I am not good with spiders but they seem to treat me like a magnet.

I have a dlliemma later. I've been invited to a friend's for dinner. This is probably the only time to get them their presents before Xmas. But friend has been off work all week with a stinking cold. I would really not like that for Xmas. Hmmmm.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 22/12/2012 12:39

Elsewhere norfy and it was misty but not raining when we were on the water. Sadly it is raining now and I need to go food shopping as we have lots of dinner-guests this weekend. I have two fresh blisters, as I have recently restarted rowing, and have very victorian gentlemen-like hands nowadays. Also aries I have been known to row with SB in a boat as well as outside one.

I'd say treat yourself to a dvd-box and relaxing evening euro. I still love my evenings home alone :)

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 22/12/2012 12:41

Although there is the spider. I was quite entertained by the near sacking of the bff!

RockinaroundtheTippletree · 22/12/2012 13:30

Sorry for the silence gents, I have been busy celebrating the end of the term and my 30th birthday. I am officially official on the BESH front and we didn't die from an Apocalypse either. I was mightily relieved come 11.30 am!

Euro - you need to take action against the spider - it doesn't pay rent. Be a man and remove it! Failure on BFF front is definitely a sackable offense.

Rie is that a good outcome? Bit forward thinking of your mum though - the rain might be gone by Monday, it's only Saturday!

Ummm, I have an AIBU query, well, I sort of feel I should feel a bit guilty but not really sure - here goes:
Mum had a little family party for me last night for my birthday. We invited DH's parents and they were coming along with his brother and sister. We also invited my aunty and uncle and my mums best friend who came with her daughter who I grew up with and her two gorgeous children. So, Thursday evening DH gets a message from his sister saying nothing more than 'not coming tomorrow, i have to be up at 5 am for work'. DH read that as his sister not coming but just before we left for mums last night DH rang to see if all was ok with the floods and his mum said oh we aren't coming, messaged you (on FB). So, because they didn't come and I've organised to see various family of mine at different points between now and Christmas DH wont get to see them until after boxing day. DH is disappointed but also a little bit annoyed with his mum. I sort of feel like i should cancel something with my family so he can see his but really there was no reason for them not to come last night, they just sit on their arse all day mostly. But then I think they can't be that arsed or they would have come over? I don't know. What do you think? We only have one car and they live nearly 30 miles away so it's not a simple nip out and see them then go to other stuff...... pain in the arse!

WinklyVersusTheZombies · 22/12/2012 15:49

I wouldn't bother rearranging your plans to.see them if they couldn't be arsed coming to see you.

'lo everyone, how's it going?

I'm going to have Droid Arrival on Christmas Eve by the looks if it. How is that even remotely fair?

Northey · 22/12/2012 16:21

A lovely Christmas gift from your womble to you, aries.

I am expecting mine over the festive period too. Probably all over MIL's sheets :(

FrankelcenseAndMyhrr · 22/12/2012 17:14

God rest you merry gentlemen, etc.

I am extremely fatigued this damp and drizzly evening.

We visited my BFF and her 7 week old this morning. She's been very lucky - he sleeps from 11pm till 7am, but she's still knackered as all his snuffly little noises keep waking her up. She's barely left the house since he was born & I have told her she needs to call me and we can go out for a coffee or something, just so she can get some fresh air.

My darling parents have arrived for Christmas - 4 nights This could either go very well, or very badly! So excuse me if I'm not about much over the next few days.

WinklyVersusTheZombies · 22/12/2012 20:41

If I am talking to a friend who got diffed germ first month trying, and saying that in the new year I am dropping all alcohol and caffeine, and cutting right down on my meat intake, because I am trying the Zita West approach to my fertility ishoos, is it (a) helpful and supportive or (b) very fucking unhelpful for her to comment 'oh I was on holiday eating steaks and drinking red wine when I got pregnant?

And then of course change the subject, because it's too fucking hard for her to be sympathetic for one minute, but so god damn easy for me to be happy for her All The Bloody Time.

OP posts:
WinklyVersusTheZombies · 22/12/2012 20:43

Oh my droid is due just after I come back from visiting my family for Christmas, so I will be sad about that, dreading going back to pissing work and I get that kick in the womble. Sympathy and gin all round.

ArielTheBahHumbugMermaid · 22/12/2012 21:10

Winkly how incredibly insensitive.

FrankelcenseAndMyhrr · 22/12/2012 22:07

Nice "friend" Winks, what a cow. Next time, if you choose to see her again, you must say "did you mean to be so rude/insensitive?"

I think my friend knows I'm still struggling (had a small cry this afternoon), she hugged me like she'd never let go when we left her house this morning. I luffs her.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 23/12/2012 10:08

That friend is a rat, winkly. Fact.

Good lucky with droidal christmases, parental invastions and all the rest of it. SB and I are being antisocial and I am loving it. Although we do have a diffed friend and husband over for tea. But it is diffage after MC a few months before me, so we have chatted and cried about all that shit together. So I think I can actually be happy for her. Let's see how it goes when she is here, belly and all...

I am too menkulling for a victorian gentlemen. My buzzwams are killing me. And it is bloody 7dpiui, SB commented so that lodged all sort of Thoughts in my Head. (Even though when diffed I had NO symptoms, so I don't know why I still spot them.)

SinkyMalinks · 23/12/2012 12:44

winks, I think we might have the same friend.

I am also menkulling, for no good reason. The best I can offer if nausea and the hope of an ironi-dif pre injections.

FrankelcenseAndMyhrr · 23/12/2012 16:47

Just stopping by to say I think I might have finally ov'd, it's only taken until CD46. Temp bumped by 0.3 of a degree this morning, so we'll see over the next day or two if it stays up. We've done the sechs every other day for the last 10 days, so if that doesn't get me diffed I don't know what more we can do!

Happy Christmas Eve Eve all Xmas Grin
