Doff your top hats, lean on your canes, 'tis a Victorian Christmas for the BESH. Baste those turkeys in Victoria & Albert style, and maintain a stiff upper lip when you fill in the BESHtionnaire to see if you are cynical stoic enough to win a Baybee.

Grr on your dad's behalf, rie - no excuse for pissing about and not doing the tests! Good to hear he is cheerful though.

Glad to hear things are looking good, jeff!

I dunno about the shewee method - I'm sure I've heard that if you're a bit desperate then it's easy to flood the top funnel part... Not sure if that's better or worse than pissing in your own eye, mind...

Droid has arrived a day or two early, and of course therefore CD2 is Sunday, so my "day 2 FSH test" will have to be done on CD3 (if I can get through to GP surgery early enough on Monday), ffs stupid droid does like to be as awkward as fecking possible Angry

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 13/01/2013 09:22

Well done with big old trigger shot Jeff, was it Ovitrel (sp?)? That's what I have to use - sodding big thing, looks like a marker pen! Anyway, fingers and toes crossed for collection.

Sorry about droid evil, .

Nice to see you Rollo, keep those knees together and sending you positive vibes for a sneeze-like birth.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 13/01/2013 09:58

Morning hags!

Wow, another BESH ready for hatching. Good luck with keep the baybee in til next week rollo and of course after that the birth will be a breeze.

frankelly I've done a number of trigger shots and ovitrelle is the easiest imaginable. The needle is thin and the trigger does not sting - unlike the cheap as trigger I used last time. So no worries. The amount of liquid is little, although the pen looks impressive!

Hurrah for having triggered, keeping everything crossed for perfect continued follie development and a painfree EC tomorrow jethro.

Stupid droid draff, how irritating it makes the blood tests too challenging!

The news on this end is that we have a lovely lamb stew stewing for Sunday lunch, SB has left the flat to go swimming with my nephews (they invited him, not me) and I am left at home to write a paper for the stupid sodding course... So I'll be in and out a lot this morning.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 13/01/2013 10:28

Lamb stew mmmmmmmm.

I wish MrA wasn't vegetarian.

Northey · 13/01/2013 10:34

Morning BESHes everywhere. I am in the interesting situation of having done the sechs at ovulation time and now slightly regretting it. It would be absolutely sods law to get diffed a mere 3 weeks before starting ivf. I am convinced it would be another ectopic, and that would just throw everything into traumatic and expensive disarray. So I am enjoying a hot bath. This really does feel massively at odds with the way things normally are.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 13/01/2013 10:45

It smells LOVELY, sorry ariel. I have done nothing yet, anyone care to kick me?

Sorry about the headfuck feeling of nononoIcantgetdiffed, norf. Baths are always good (btw are they bad for baybee winning!?) The chances are quite low for ironi-diff, you know that, and really there is nothing you can do about it, so time to be very zen... In that bath with lovely smelly oils (that slither up your fanjo and kill any wins in there).

Onwards and forwards, it is HARD.

Northey · 13/01/2013 10:56

Dont know, lem. This is based on old novels with women having them whilst drinking gin.

Now. Have you at least turned on your laptop?

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 13/01/2013 10:59

I am on my laptop. On MN :) The book I am using is next to me, under my phone. Procrastination central, here...

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 13/01/2013 11:01

Btw maybe you should partake in gin in the bath. It would definitely be suboptimal for baybee winning and it could be fun! I just poured a whole bottle of wine in the stew, it smells divine!

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 13/01/2013 11:01

Does anyone know if hot water bottles kill baybees? Or even spermz (once they're already up ya, that is)? Or is your body programmed to be at 37 degrees and when you hug a hot water bottle it dissipates heat to your extremities?

My house is freezing and I cuddle a hot water bottle most nights. I have found a new thing to blame

Did anyone else watch a film called Oranges and Sunshine last night? Twas very good. I had not heard of it before. Only realised afterwards it had Lord Elrond and Faramir in it. Yes, they are real.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 13/01/2013 11:05

The short answer is NO hot water bottles do not kill baybees (disclaimer: unless you have a win in a cot already and leave them with an open hot water bottle, that might kill them).

And Hmm about Faramir being real I might make an exception for Lord Elrond and no I didn't see the film.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 13/01/2013 11:06

However, I would recommend MrA does not place his balls directly on top of the hot water bottle Wink

Northey · 13/01/2013 11:12

I watched LOTR for real last night, with AMNG shushing furiously whenever I spoke in an important bit. But not the one with Faramir in.

I may add sherry to the soup I have just made. Fuck this fertility healthiness shite.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 13/01/2013 11:14

Faramir was a savage disappointment in the film. There he is in the books, being all noble and warrior-like, and in the film he had a layered mullet :(

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 13/01/2013 11:17

PS good news about the hot water bottle. However, this kills any denial I had that I am actually barren Grin.

MrA doesn't need hot water bottles. In our unheated house in the depths of winter he will go to bed in just his pants and still have warm feet. He is the hottest person ever. Last night I wore pyjama trousers, t shirt, fleecy jumper and thick socks and we have a double feather duvet (the sort where you can popper together two in the cold months). God knows what I would be like in an actual cold country, though cold countries do central heating I guess. Or even just "rest of the country" does central heating.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 13/01/2013 11:25

The rule is generally indeed, the colder the country, the better the heating. I once spent a winter in Italy, which was lovely and sunny during the day. But at night FREEZING. Marble floors and inefficient heating=very cold feet. And I am generally a warm person.

PS You are not Barren, we're all a little reproductively challenged...

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 13/01/2013 11:27

Also: I found some actual lemondrizzlecake in the oven, and it is HMM :)
and I opened some relevant research papers, well as far as I could before hitting the pay wall.

TWinklyLittleStar · 13/01/2013 11:33

I thought Faramir was pretty cool in the film. He dealt well with his dad trying to burn him alive.

I have been at work since 6am so have just slightly sacked off healthy eating; fried egg, mushrooms, beans and a bit of bubble. Have done well on cutting out alcohol and down on caffeine though, and think I have reduced my fat bastard-ness slightly.

However tis all for naught - I will be ov'ing in the next couple of days but MIL has been very unwell, in and out of hospital, and her illness is stressing FIL (early stages of alzheimers) to the point he can barely remember she is ill. HWCA is understandably not in the mood for sex, and I am trying my utmost to not cry over yet another cycle going to waste. I know IABU.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 13/01/2013 12:03

Actual Laugh Out Loud!

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 13/01/2013 12:04

Twinkly, so sorry to hear that. Your poor PIL and HWCA. And you.

You never think of early dementia happening to parents in their sixties :(

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 13/01/2013 12:05

Twinkly/Winkly.....

can we stop the damn name changes now please. I am a dullard at the best of times.

TWinklyLittleStar · 13/01/2013 12:16

I will stick with this name for a bit rie

Its shit. And HWCA does everything for his parents, because his brothers are useless have children so are too busy Angry

I am jealous of lamb stew and lovely cake drizzly!

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 13/01/2013 13:11

I may have sounded po faced then. I was trying to be funny and BESHly Wink.

snowqueenrollo · 13/01/2013 14:04

with ref to hot water bottles......and being a 'cold' person. In a woo manner - i read up on this when my acupuncturist talked it through with me. He said that as a person who felt the cold a lot I probably had a 'cold' womb and that was hostile to conception. He recommended me to use my wheat bag nightly on my stomach to counter this and stimulate blood flow. I am not a blind faith type with woo therapy but what he said also tied in with discussion I had with my medical herbalist about why my cycles/flow were the way they were.
I saw a change in the length of cycle and flow of AF firstly with the herbal treatment and then with the acupuncture a few months later.
I still think having the hydrosalpinx removed is what led to successful baybeewin for me, but cannot deny that the woo treatment made changes too.
