Doff your top hats, lean on your canes, 'tis a Victorian Christmas for the BESH. Baste those turkeys in Victoria & Albert style, and maintain a stiff upper lip when you fill in the BESHtionnaire to see if you are cynical stoic enough to win a Baybee.

I'm actually LOLing at Bugs sew your mouth up comment! I watched a few OBEM but stay away from it now. It brings up a whole array of emotions that I cannot be arsed to deal with.

Nice namechange Frank.

maamalady · 03/01/2013 15:24

I think if it was on a few years ago, I'd have enjoyed OBEM. It is rather fascinating. However, as with Jeff, I just can't deal with the emotional issues it is certain to bring up.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 03/01/2013 18:09

Oh for the actual love of fuck, I have finally arrived home. In the inevitable pile of post I have found THE most record breaking Christmas round robin EVER in terms of revolting smugness. I actually feel nauseous!

maamalady · 03/01/2013 18:25

I think it is your duty to quote bits, rie...

I got a round robin from my cousin ths year! Almost every sentence ended with an exclamation mark! It made for very difficult reading!

Northey · 03/01/2013 18:46

Don't tease us rierie! We need to know more!

!

!!!

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 03/01/2013 18:52

Waiting til I am on an Actual Keyboard rather than phone. Say she's on MN?

Northey · 03/01/2013 19:06

You have to tell us now!

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 03/01/2013 19:18

Ok, here are a few choice examples:

"X came to stay with us over the summer for three months, teaching the children French. We found she really fitted in seamlessly with our family values..." (children are 5 and 3)
"...we had our first proper ski holiday, with both children on skis. "Husband" is now a fully qualified ski instructor!".....
"Following Child 2's 3rd birthday we began a more structured routine of Home Education for Child 1, our inspiration being Maria Montessori....I'm really loving researching the various models of education out there...seeing amazing results....we acknowledge some of you had your concerns about our decision to home educate, however please be reassured and if you ever want to know more, please ask..."
"...we finally have a working wood burner!"...
Re her DH...."we're all really proud of him for his dedication to our family unit..." (er like hello? Shouldn't that be a given?)
New house on plot next door using their own digger, new au pair in the new year so that the children can continue learning French.
And finally having run on for three pages she announces this is the year she will be boycotting social media and putting her energies into people and things she really cares about. But she apologises for the lack of written thank yous from Child 1 for her recent birthday and Christmas - she doesn't want to put her off writing.

ShockShockShock

I cannot believe I used to enjoy this person's company. Smug does not even cover it.

Northey · 03/01/2013 19:21

Oh dear Lord, she sounds mental. How completely dreadful.

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 03/01/2013 19:24

I knew someone who sent out a round robin that. Mostly about musical accomplishments of the DC. He was a pilot. He ran off with an air stewardess Hmm The round robins stopped.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 03/01/2013 19:24

Honestly, she used to be fun. I am completely saddened by her.

Northey · 03/01/2013 19:30

I don't know whether that is funny or tragic, faifular.

JethroTull · 03/01/2013 20:41

FFS. That is ridiculous. Is it Montessori where the child chooses what they want to learn that day? Or even IF they want to learn?

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 03/01/2013 20:46

A little of both norf. She was a very sad lady when he left - she was a SAHM and when he left their lives changed forever :

I am nearly over the lurgy. I may even leave the house tomorrow! :)

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 03/01/2013 20:47

Pretty much, I think, Jeff.

Your poor friend, Faif. Tragic.

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 03/01/2013 20:50

Ironically, it brought her closer to our side of the family (she was on my Mum's side).

EuroShagmore · 04/01/2013 10:21

Bloody hell, rie, that is tragic.

Well, I think I laid my egg the day before yesterday. So we had one swi for luck last night and that it us done with the compulsory sh@gging for a while. Back to outsourcing for the next few cycles.

Well done on the sechsing Euro and hang on in there Bugs, you never know.

I am requiring as many fish-based products you can all spare. I am menkulling like a good 'un over here. 9 dpo and I'm producing what looks like EWCM by the bucketload. I don't even get this much when I lay an egg so feck knows what that is about! Add to that, I had a dip in temperature at 7dpo and I've had a stiff/sore lower back for several days Hmm

I need to step away from Google!!!

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 04/01/2013 13:23
lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 04/01/2013 13:23

Btw arie if she is on MN and recognises herself, maybe she can learn something!

Northey · 04/01/2013 15:36

I say, frankel, my good man, may I congratulate you on a most splendid production of pant snot?

bugs, I agree - don't give up on the menkul just yet. You only laid five minutes ago. And stop prodding your boobs

Am going for a swim shortly, as part of my IVF fitness thang. To make up for a day of snoozing around eating bread.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 04/01/2013 16:13

This is how sad I have become - I was in Poundstretcher earlier (yes? What of it? Grin ) and saw some bargain bumper bottles of Comfort, you know the fabric conditioner. And my first vague thought was "Cod of Comfort".

Random Confused

Now then, I don't want to act like a party pooper, but isn't your temp supposed to go up when you have conceived? A triphasic chart, I believe the Futility Fiends call it. Or Triassic chart as we used to call it.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 04/01/2013 16:32

Rie, you are right about temps going up, but incessant Googling has revealed that some women experience a dip in temperature when implantation occurs. The fact that my drop (a whole 0.5 degrees) occurred at 7dpo has only served to fuel the menkul.

Arf @ "Triassic" charts - this one's going on so long (CD 50-something) that it feels like it started in the Triassic period!

Snurk at your epiphany in Poundland Grin

EuroShagmore · 04/01/2013 16:44

I don't know whether this helps the menkul or not, but I've had what looks like an implantation dip several times. Of course it didn't mean anything. I've also had a triphasic chart once. That didn't mean anything either. I'm clearly a charting enigma.

Grin at the Poundstretcher randomness.

Norfy well done on the swim. I went to the gym last night. I actually quite enjoyed it, but I have lost soooooo much fitness since I last went regulaly. I might go all out and run tomorrow too.

My weekend away visiting BIL and SIL has been cancelled because SIL has gone a bit menkul. (This will out me if she is reading but....) Last year she wrote an email to FIL's partner telling her what she thought of her. this was of course incredibly stupid. She has bad PCOS and moodswings and was I think in the midst of kerazy PMS when she hit send. Nonetheless whilst neither KFZK nor BIL was terribly impressed, they just wanted to smooth things over and make sure that FIL could spend time with his sons and granddaughter. We've seen her once since she sent the email and she was working for most of the weekend but when she was there it was fine. She has now decided she doesn't want us there this weekend because we will judge her over the email. Well yes, we will judge in the sense that it is rarely a good idea to send those sorts of emails rather than just mutter the sentiments under one's breath, but ultimately we just want to spend time with them and give their kids their Xmas presents. I'm anoid. I was quite looking forward to a weekend away in the country. And because this is escalating. She can't let a moment of madness cut BIL off from his family.
