Doff your top hats, lean on your canes, 'tis a Victorian Christmas for the BESH. Baste those turkeys in Victoria & Albert style, and maintain a stiff upper lip when you fill in the BESHtionnaire to see if you are cynical stoic enough to win a Baybee.

Morning hags!

Thank fuck that is over! I am working. Much to be preferred over Christmas. Right. We decided to boycot Christmas, which was emotionally a lot more challenging than I had realised. I seem to have a day off (read floods of tears and unreasonably grumpy) and a day on (baking, eating, chatting etc). Sadly SB seems to have my good days off. So real bahhumbug in the lemon-household. It was all brought on by the inevitable babies, family centredness etc of Christmas, add into that two diffed friends (on either side of what would have been due date) and you have the recipe for misery.

At least for NYE we have a friend (and droid) visiting... JOY.

Shock at MATV's response that is weird! Any follow up conversation possible?

Sorry about the BFN and the wobbling norf. ILs can be so difficult, can't they?

Christmas sechsing is going badly here, so I am mightily impressed with draff. We've had quick shags followed by grumpy days on just two mornings. I have completely lost my horn, is that a) because I am miserable or b) because I am diffed...

For presents we got some dvds, books, chocolate and (vouchers for) a whole load of yarn, which makes me quite happy, after all :) Frank very impressed with HWHNN gift buying.

Grumpy waves to you all!

Northey · 27/12/2012 10:56

How weird of MATV! Ask him about it later and find out what he is thinking when he says it?

Argument was a silly academicky one - I think we are both quite similar in that we don't let things go when we think we are right/the other person hasn't understood/whatever. Normally I wouldn't really care - I am good at being detached from arguments, but somehow I felt very shaken about an hour afterwards. I think it's just everything all at once. Including worrying about upcoming consent consultation.

lem, I sympathise so much with the uppy downy thing. For half a day I am fine and sociable and making a nice contribution to things, and then I am off balance and tetchy and needy and bumptious.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 27/12/2012 11:00

Thanks for the recognition norf. It hopefully means it is normal, and will pass. At some stage. Hopefully. I reckon the shakiness with the argument with FIL might be related to that too. When I have my off-day I don't have my usual ability to ignore those sorts of things...

Are you on your flight yet?

Northey · 27/12/2012 11:05

We will both get through it eventually. Hopefully soon, as I am quite bored of being such a head case.

Flight is tomorrow. More brown gunk today so prob droid will hit then. FFS. And clinic wants a new CD2-5 hormone blood test - if droid hits tomorrow and I am spending three days away, getting it sorted will be quite challenging, I suspect.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 27/12/2012 11:09

Aha, handy of droid to make the last hormone tests a little more of a challenge, NYE away though (if I can count), sounds lovely!

It will pass. It is just unfortunate that I thought it had passed already, and then Christmas bit me in the tail quite badly.

Northey · 27/12/2012 11:22

Exactly how I feel too! I had even been quietly proud and self-congratulatory at being successfully normal again. Bah.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 27/12/2012 11:40

Me too. And then I felt like a failed Victorian gentleman. Quite convincingly. Mental note to self, more biting to be expected near due date Oh well, at least I've done some work. Unlike SB, who much obligingly went to buy hoover bags and batteries, and is now reading one of his Crimbo-books on the couch. It's good he left the house, I guess!

RockinaroundtheTippletree · 27/12/2012 18:12

Pfft, I started a thread on chat and got ignored ....... I've made a prawn curry from frozen prawns. If it goes in the fridge overnight can I reheat and finish tomorrow??!!!

EuroShagmore · 27/12/2012 18:12

Draf, I am somewhere between Xmas Hmm and Xmas Grin at the ears!

norfy sorry for the tears. I was finding it all a bit much today too. We went into the children's dept at John Lewis to pick up something for KFZK's niece and I had a "gulp" moment when I had to walk past the nursery furniture to get there.

Tipp that's an odd reaction. Do you think he had a run in with SS in a past life or something?

tipps probably ok as long as you blast it!

Fingers crossed bugs.

Sorry Christmas has been rough for so many of you. Bring on 2013!

Northey · 27/12/2012 19:14

Massively fat, bugsy. Twin baybees fat. Hideous. And in three days I have to wear a slinky evening dress. Do you think with some really am creative accessorising I could get away with wearing my fleecy pyjamas instead?

WinklyVersusTheZombies · 27/12/2012 19:32

bugs am fat as all hell. Had cream and cake last night and stomach swelled up in delightful post-gall bladder-removal fashion. Super painful and I looked six months gone. Back down now so just old fashioned fat. Zita West healthy lifestyle starts new years day.

OP posts:
RockinaroundtheTippletree · 27/12/2012 21:31

Massively fat here and also looking pregnant too.

Just had a message from a girl I speak to on another forum who had her ET last week, tested this morning and was positive Grin so pleased for her as been trying for over 6 years and been messed around by funding people which meant her IVF ended up about a year later than needed to be.

Hope droid doesn't appear for plane journey Norf, bastard thing always wait until the most inappropriate time doesn't it.

Think I ov'd Xmas day too bugs judging by pant snot but no secshing took place due to parents being in too close proximity so reckon I'm out this month as only one jump on 24th. I'm all geared up for IVF referral now though anyway so I don't care.

wink ill be with you on the diet front. I can usually see my hip bones when I lie down but at the mo they are covered in a little layer of squishyness. Not good. So.....1s Jan it's on!

I'm still no further with MATVs comment but he stands by what he said, that social workers are arseholes who only do what they do to keep themselves in a job. There's something else there and I have an inkling as to what it is. If it is what I think it is I'm most definitely not going to push it.

InTheBleakMidwynter · 28/12/2012 13:21

No sechsing for us over Xmas as I've had bastard spotting for the last week (aargh). Not that I feel like it now we're at the in-laws anyway.

My GHDs have just died on me as well so I've spent money replacing those, I feel the size of a house and I'm now unemployed (admittedly my own choice, but still).

Fucking marvellous. 2013 had better not suck as much as the end of 2012, I can tell you.

Hope the rest of you hags are feeling festive.

EuroShagmore · 28/12/2012 13:46

I too was feeling fat this morning and as I can't easily get to my gym (it's right by my office and I have no desire to go there on a day off) I decided to try my untouched 30 Day Shred DVD this morning. Bloody hell that is hardcore! I am obviously less fit than I thought....

Northey · 28/12/2012 13:53

What's it like, euro? I need to shed a stone (probably two by now, after all this Christmas gluttony) before getting married this year. Although naturally I have no problem with getting married with a bump of the non-fat sort.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 28/12/2012 15:19

Are we on weight loss already? There is NYE to come still, hags. And I am intending to get entirely shit-faced on champagne (a friend is bringing) as droidal invasion is planned for Sunday... And I am not menkulling, honest

addictedismoving · 28/12/2012 15:27

what does BESH mean? I've just been looking at all the ttc threads and I dont really want to join a bus atm, but would quite like to chat to some lovely people, I've seen this thread around, and have always wondered what its all about, so before I start chatting to you and realise its a quiche for people who have been ttc on a type of firtility drug o have been trying for years etc, what does it mean?

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 28/12/2012 15:31

Barren Evil Selfish Hags (correct me if I am wrong!) It's the DM term for over 30s TTC. We're by now a decidedly barren bunch, nearly all of us here are heading to or involved in some form of AC (or outsourcing as it is sometimes called). But we LOVE fresh meat. So hunt down a BESHtionaire and we shall judge your worthiness Wink

addictedismoving · 28/12/2012 15:43

ahh, well I am 25 (although dh is 32?) and already have 2 dc (although I have had 5mc and a very high chance of mc Sad)
I think this isnt the place for me either. I will keep looking, thanks Smile, sorry for intrupting you ladies.

RockinaroundtheTippletree · 28/12/2012 16:41

Hi addicted, sorry to hear of your miscarriages, it must be heartbreaking. Lemons discription of us barrens is accurate. I'm not sure what you meant by quiche but if you are not hanging around please can we keep the quiche? I luve quiche Grin

I have been having a clear out! Very therapeutic but also a bit useless as I still have four massive boxes of stuff that requires a decision from MATV as to whether it should go or what it actually is and he absolutely hates sorting stuff like that. He promised to help out over this Christmas week then buggered off to work for two days!!!

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 28/12/2012 17:12

Well done for clearing out tippy. And MATV owes you some tidying time. So there. That is lemon telling him!

I am having a POAS-dilemma. We have a friend staying for NYE, and droid is due on 30th, as is the friend. If droid stays away, testing would be on 31st. But then the friend has arrived. And our flat is tiny. If we want any privacy I should test before she comes. Hmmm. If no spotting tomorrow, it might be fun to pee on something for a change. I introduced SB to the concept of peeing on a fiver this morning... To waste money or not to waste money? I mean if I don't get droid, I kind of know anyway, and I get a clinic test, if droidless on Jan2nd

WinklyVersusTheZombies · 28/12/2012 17:22

How long is the friend staying? You could leave it and POAFiver on New Years Day.

OP posts:
lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 28/12/2012 17:25

Til new years day... But we're having a FEAST on NYE, which would involve raw meat and copious amounts of alcohol, if undiffed.
