TTC after recent mc - Thread 2

Hi everyone - I've started the new thread as our original one is nearly full.

I really hope that this is the one where we all get our BFPs and don't have to experience any more heartache.

OP posts:
BraveLilBear · 27/11/2012 10:03

Grin for Blol 2-3 weeks. It's definitely there right now.

Thanks for asking GaryB things are pretty much back to normal with OH - he's nagging me to call mw, but I keep putting it off. Today I was running late for work so left the referral card in the dresser...

Have annoyingly had no symptoms all of yesterday and today, apart from on-off sore boobs and a bit of indigestion after tea last night. Having felt sick all day all weekend, I'm feeling a bit nervy. Do still feel pregnant (intuitively) though so just hoping I'm adjusting to the hormones and I'm not headed for a second 5+2 disaster.

Tomorrow is 5+3. Think I might feel brave enough to call the mw then!

Pass on the bleeding Thunder but hope it clears soon...

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 27/11/2012 10:08

Thunder, I can only speak for myself but honestly I'm fine with anyone talking about any aspect of mc, before, during and after. I know it's not a nice subject but we need somewhere to talk about it, and we've all been through it on here so don't feel bad about bringing anything up! Sorry you're still getting bfp, but if they're getting progressively lighter that's a good sign, my memory is shocking but I think I took about 2 weeks to go from strong bfp to bfn. Luckily I had lots of cheap tests around so I could watch the line getting progressively lighter.

Are you still bleeding? My epu were talking about natural mc not erpc, but they said the bleeding would continue for about 2-3 weeks after the mc, and then I should do a test 48 hours after the bleeding stopped and it should be bfn, if not, to get back in touch for a repeat scan just in case. But try not to worry about that, I'm sure you'll get a bfn within the next week and then you'll be back on track. So sorry it's lingering on, it's horrible isn't it? Brew

Quiet congratulations to gary and lol! fx for very very sticky babies.

Well, we did man up and dtd the other night, and last night even though though I told him I probably wasn't fertile any more. I've enjoyed all the sexing but I'm actually worn out now, I ache all over and I've been late for school twice this week already due to all the late nights Blush so quite glad it's the tww now, for a rest! At least we can say we tried... we aren't normally half this vigorous. Where's the "knackered" emoticon?? lol

GaryBuseysTeeth · 27/11/2012 10:14

Honestly, now it looks like I'm just copying Blol.
I did a digi this morning & got 2-3wks too, but I really feel dodgy today, boobs feel smaller so I'm not feeling very positive anymore.

Counting down the hours til tomorrow for you bear! And I wish morning sickness & all the cramp early pg symptoms on you!

Thundercatsarego · 27/11/2012 10:41

Thank you james, it's nice to know I can ask at least. I just don't understand why there is still womb lining to be shed if the procedure supposedly removed it all - apart from maybe a bit in the days straight afterwards. Oh well it will remain a mystery! Bleeding seems to have stopped here now but doubtless it'll come back for a while longer from what everyone says. At least I'm going in the right direction.

Well done on the dtd action! You are truly committed to your cause and hopefully you'll get the reward in a couple of weeks time. In the meantime, you can rest those aching muscles!!

So gary and blol are digi twins and bear, call the mw tomorrow!

BraveLilBear · 27/11/2012 12:16

Lol thank you GaryB and Thunder - this is a strange place isn't it, wishing for (selective) BFNs alongside widespread BFPs, plus wishing crappy sickness on people as a sign of good times!

Will call mw tomo. Promise hysterical Grin

GaryB great news on the 2-3 - the way I see it is that that's one hurdle passed (CP)... Fx you'll start feeling lousy again too! I just nearly burst into (happy) tears at my desk because I thought about telling my parents on Christmas Eve providing everything is still ticketyboo by then which is genuinely the soppiest thing I've ever done at work Blush

My boob soreness comes and goes too - they feel totally different to AF bbs. they seem ahem floppier and looser and they get in the way a lot, and sometimes I panic because I can't feel them hurting right now so I poke them and it hurts A LOT again. I'm beginning to think this come-and-go thing might be dare I whisper it normal...

Congrats on the marathon dtd James - wear those sore muscles with smug pride! And enjoy the rest Wink

KittyBump · 27/11/2012 13:35

Seriously can't wait to join you all in neurotic boob poking :)
thunder maybe the bleeding is because the cervix is still open a bit, so stuff that would normally stay in is able to fall out? Or it could be the hormones - years ago I had the contraceptive injection that lasts 3 months but I bled every single day, so maybe something like that? Or I could just admit I don't know but I think it's normal. Ring your epu of you're worried x

BombasticPeanut · 27/11/2012 14:05

thunder the ERPC removes the products of pregnancy, but the thickened womb lining still needs to be broken down and shed. Depending on what stage you were in pregnancy, there may still be quite a lot of lining to be lost. Sometimes your hormones are a bit wonky after a miscarriage while the progesterone/oestrogen balance is restored, and that can lead to the on/off spotting while your body's going 'let's break down the lining! No, let's not!' for a bit. But if it carries on for ages I'd go and see EPU/GP just in case, they can always scan to make sure everything's out.

James jealous of your nice restful 2ww, I'm just starting the bonkathon and I already couldn't be bothered this morning. Not using sticks this month because I get totally a little obsessed so we're just having shag week. I'm assuming ov will actually be around Thurs but no harm getting an advance guard of swimmers on the case! Must...summon...energy...

SallysTrying · 27/11/2012 14:30

oh wow, 2-3s! Congratulations, that's brilliant!

Thunder, it took me almost four weeks to get a bfn. It sucks. As long as they're getting lighter, though, it's normal.

I'm just starting shag week too. I think. I'm temping so I know I haven't ovd yet, so... next couple of days? Probably? Weird post-mc cycles are still in place though, so could be any time.

Thundercatsarego · 27/11/2012 15:19

Thanks for the info guys, I'm not worried, just like to have some understanding of why things happen.

peanut and sallys, Smile at MAY THE BONKATHON commence. What a funny old world eh?! Good luck with getting some good swimmers lined up though, sounds like the best plan. And lots of sex to cover the bases- could be worse eh?!

kitty that will be us soon not together of course, with our respective OHs - just in case you thought I was flirting

KittyBump · 27/11/2012 20:05

Good Luck shaggers and 2 week waiters alike Grin and of course the newly upduffed!

Yes thunder we'll soon be moaning about too much sex and waiting to poas for real :) I seem to have PMT from hell so I don't think you'd want to be flirting with me anyway :) poor DH I have been quite taxing Blush I can hear myself being a bitch but am powerless to stop, one more step along the road to AF?

BombasticPeanut · 27/11/2012 20:48

...newly upduffed. Hahaha. HAHAHAHA. That has tickled me somewhat Grin

MunchinMango · 27/11/2012 21:40

Ha ha newly upduffed!! Congrats to all on 2-3 weeks!!!

Thunder cats thanks for asking the question as its something that puzzled me too. ( my spotting/on off bleeding lasted 7 weeks!!!) thank you peanut for explaining why, it makes sense now.

Good luck to all on the shag fest!!! Any 2ww near to testing?

AlmondFrangipani · 28/11/2012 09:13

Hi Girls,

Sorry havent been around too much. Been trying to distract myself from TTC and not going on MN every day!! Well...today I got a very faint BFP on a FRER!!! Feel very scared after my mc but also excited. I think I am only 12dpo and got a 'Not Pregnant' on a CB Digital so I might well believe it 100% when I see 'Pregnant'!! Did I see Lol had a BFP???? Anyone else???? xxx

BelissimaLol · 28/11/2012 09:45

Hi almond
Just pm'd you Grin
Hold tight on digi if u only 12dpo. They are known for bfn if you too early. Can you resist a couple more days?
A line is a line though. GrinGrin

GaryBuseysTeeth · 28/11/2012 11:00

BAlmond! Congrats & I hope you get a 'pregnant' digital soon!

Good luck in shagweek Bpeanut & BSally

Bear, hope you've called the MW already?! Don't make me call her for you!

BombasticPeanut · 28/11/2012 12:04

Yay almond! Congrats Grin

Must be something in the water this month!

andadietcoke · 28/11/2012 12:11

Congrats Almond! Hopefully your multi pregnancy detection device BFP comes soon. A line is definitely a line though (whoop!).

Still waiting for sodding AF. My money's on this weekend. Started low carbing this week to lose some weight (I lost 6lbs when I was pg and put it all back on in comfort eating/drowning my sorrows post mc) and no booze in preparation for TTC again.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 28/11/2012 12:13

Almond, if the line has any colour in it at all, then it's a bfp! if it's just grey or looks more like an indent then try again tomorrow as it may be an evap. But I bet it isn't! Excited for you!! Smile

4dpo here, twiddling my thumbs. I think with my last pregnancies I got bfp's at 12 dpo and 13 dpo, so I'll hold out until at least 12dpo. I wasted a lot of tests last time through being impatient! Blush

BraveLilBear · 28/11/2012 12:20

Congrats Almond fx for more positives soon...

Happy shagging Peanut and Sally Grin

GaryB - I have texted the special number this morning so ball's in their court. If I don't hear nowt by tomorrow, I will call and leave a message, or email. Bit disinclined to email as it's quite a generic email and worried about how confidential it is!

Thundercatsarego · 28/11/2012 15:52

Wow almond, congratulations! Very exciting indeed! Keep us posted.

coke, fx af comes sooner rather than later for you. Stress of TTC + no alcohol sounds like a bloody awful combination to me.

james, do you worry about cp when testing early? Obviously I was much further on when mc hit last time, but I'm not sure whether to wait to test late if I get the chance of a bfp again, just to preserve sanity. wot sanity?!

bear sounds like you have a fancy system where you are with the texting! I rang mine last time and ended up ringing back again week's later as they clearly forgot me. Useless.

IBelieveInPink · 28/11/2012 18:49

coke remind me, how long you been waiting for af? Im still waiting too. Thought I felt a bit crampy yesterday, but nothing! We are off on a mini break next week (giving ourselves a mini chill out before TTC again) what do you bet it rocks up then?! Wow my karma is screwed at the moment!

Fx for a digi BFP for almond soon!

posyplum · 28/11/2012 20:49

Woo - congrats Blol!! So pleased. And Almond - woo! Fingers crossed for a sticky bean so you can go on maternity leave asap, haha. (how's the work situ going by the way?)

Congrats to Gary too - so many newly upduffed (like it), what a lucky thread. xxx

andadietcoke · 28/11/2012 20:59

ibelieveinpink I stopped bleeding on the 5th November. So I haven't really been waiting that long. I'm just impatient. I think I ov'ed about 10 days ago, so shouldn't be too much longer. We've started DtD again in the last few days too. It all felt a bit weird after the mc and I associated 'down there' with all the bleeding etc. Glad that's passed or TTC could have been a bit of a challenge!

It'll be our time soon Grin

AlmondFrangipani · 28/11/2012 21:10

Thanks for all the messages. Stocked up on more CB Digis and FRER today so I will try testing tomorrow! Posy I know! Fingers crossed this one sticks as I need that light at the end of the tunnel. I have had 2 weeks off work so it has been fab Wink!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 28/11/2012 21:38

I have stabby pains in my boobs, which is what I had last time at 4dpo. (I still have my notes on countdowntopregnancy.com from last time) also the same type of cm (lovely!) so am speculating wildly here. Grin

Yeah that's a good point about chemical pregnancies, I'll make sure to bear it in mind before I tell anyone, next time I get a bfp. Smile
