TTC after recent mc - Thread 2

Hi everyone - I've started the new thread as our original one is nearly full.

I really hope that this is the one where we all get our BFPs and don't have to experience any more heartache.

OP posts:

Kitty I had the tablets pretty much straight away. I miscarried over a w/end having had some bleeding since the Thursday and ended up on the gynae ward due to heavy bleeding. Once that had stopped they scanned me and "products" still there so they recommended medical management. It's not too bad - you can insert the tablets yourself ("if you are familiar with using a tampon" WTF? I'm 37 and have had 2 kids, I think i can manage a tampon!). I was unprepared for the pain of the contractions though, previously MC was not that physically painful. Good luck whatever you decide to do.

KittyBump · 11/11/2012 20:00

Thanks all, useful to know it might be painful. I work M, T, W and I really don't want time off - not being a martyr it's just a headache for me having to rearrange all my appointments and I still have to do them so just puts me behind - but thinking sensibly I don't want to be at work if the first lot of tablets work and I start bleeding a lot (apparently the first talents alone work for some people). So might see if I can set it up for the end of the week.
Sorry all of you who are TTC you probably don't want to hear all this mc stuff anymore - fingers crossed I'll be with you soon and of course fingers crossed even more for some positive tests :)
James I'd probably go for a scan too, if I hadn't had my latest one I'd probably think I had finished mc now but actually the scan shows there is a small amount left with a good blood supply to it. Though I suppose you could just wait till you get a BFN.

KittyBump · 11/11/2012 20:01
  • tablets obv not talents
JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 11/11/2012 21:31

Kitty, we've all been through it, and so many of us are still going through it, don't worry about talking about it, you need somewhere to talk about it because there are few people you can talk to about these things in real life. (Well, I do) Sorry you're going through this still.

I'll speak to the epu tomorrow and see what they say. Anything to speed this all up and get me to cd1! Smile

So who's in the tww at the moment?

HannahJayne · 11/11/2012 22:20

kitty, I'm with james. Take as much time as you need to, and know that (unfortunately) there will always be people here who haven't moved on yet, and are still going through it, or still in limbo. Everyone around them might have moved on, and forgotten, or expect them to have gotten over it by now, but being here, with other people going through the same shit gives them comfort. So carry on sharing, and don't apologise xx

KittyBump · 11/11/2012 22:31

Thank you both, you are both right about having somewhere to discuss this but really I'm just so keen to move on. 4 weeks today since I started bleeding and still not over, hopefully this time next week I'll be through this limbo.
James are you intending to wait for AF?

YorkshirePeanut · 12/11/2012 08:49

Morning ladies

Well today was POAS day, BFN Sad. Which I expected but still totally pants. No sign of AF though, so am still clinging on to a pathetically slim thread of hope.

Kittybump sorry you're still going through this, 4 weeks must be really hard. I had medical management too. They wouldn't let me put the tablets in myself so had to have VE to add insult to injury! They also sent me home before I'd actually passed anything, because the consultant was an idiot (and I told her as much haha). I passed everything at home in the end, and it didn't really hurt to be honest. Definitely better than waiting IMO despite the indignity, I waited for 2 weeks before having it but nothing was happening so went for the tablets. Hope it's over for you soon one way or another x

Hello to everyone else too! xx

BraveLilBear · 12/11/2012 09:52

Thinking of you Kitty don't be afraid to talk here - much as we all don't think it, the chances are you won't be the last person to go through this, so please use here as much as you need.

Boo to the BFN YorkshirePeanut Sad but maybe it's just early - it ain't over til the witch sings and all that...

Good luck with the epu James - I'm in the 2ww, AF due 18th (I think, in a WTF the cycle, so basing this on ovulation last Sunday). Not feeling very hopeful tbh, boobs are starting to hurt like normal AF (when pg, they didn't hurt hardly at all until after BFP, just felt kinda floppy - which is an achievement for a AA-wearer!). Will see.

Who else is 2wwing?

Lolcbcblemonlime · 12/11/2012 10:05

Hi brave I'm 1dpo here I think as I had smiley on sat so am assuming ov yesterday. I shagged Friday and Saturday but not yesterday as we were both knackered. Do u think I have a chance?
It's only day 1 and I'm pissed off with 2ww already! At least I have loads on to take my mind off it. Good luck next week. Half way through for you!

SallysTrying · 12/11/2012 10:16

Morning ladies...

POAS this morning and BFN at 10dpo, but no sign of AF so not out yet. I'm not going to have another chance to test till Thursday now as I'm working away from home in the middle of nowhere.

BraveLilBear · 12/11/2012 10:36

Welcome to the 2ww Lolcbcb Grin it's soooo much fun! Erm, not really. Unless you are uber patient. I was pulling my hair out before ov with impatience, but have calmed a little now knowing that I'll know within 7 days. (She hopes)

From what little I have learnt in the last few weeks, I reckon you're in the game! My understanding is you need to DTD before ovulation, so the soldiers are ready and waiting for the arrival of the white princess (IYSWIM).

Haven't got a scooby-doo about O indicators and smiley faces and sticks - but better to have done it than not!

Sorry you got the BFN Sally but hey - it is early and not being able to test til Thursday may well be a good thing. Fx!

AWomanCalledHorse · 12/11/2012 10:55

Sorry for the BFN Sally & Yorkshire.

Really hope you're out of limbo soon Kitty.

Arf at the 'white princess' Bear, have imagines of a Rapunzel style tower in my bits now!
I've got OV sticks, but I bloody hate poas that isn't a pregnancy test!

Lol, it sounds like you have a chance, fingers crossed.

What's everyone up to this week?

HannahJayne · 12/11/2012 11:03

I'm actually jealous of you all in the 2ww. Never thought I'd say that!

I've got a really busy week. It was supposed to be my birthday on Wednesday but it's been cancelled. I hate birthdays at the best of times and this year I really don't fancy it at all. Thursday we're going to watch the filming of Sarah Millican's tv show, and on Friday it's Imagine Dragons somewhere random in the NQ in Manchester. Then off to see BIL and SIL in Durham at the weekend. Busy busy busy, and hoping this might take my mind off waiting for AF.

There should absolutely be a white haired princess icon...

HannahJayne · 12/11/2012 11:04

Oh, and for those of you with a BFN I tested negative twice before my BFP so you're not out until the witch turns up...

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 12/11/2012 13:11

Good luck all those waiting for bfp's, it ain't over til it's over! Good luck peanut, test again in a couple of days.

Happy birthday anyway, Hannah, even though you don't feel like celebrating it. I started bleeding pretty much the day before my birthday last month and I felt the same as you, didn't want to do anything. I hope you get spoilt anyway, nothing wrong with chocolates and flowers even if it is a busy week. Smile

Kitty, I really want to start trying again now, but I keep reading that it's advisable to wait for af so I suppose I should really. Grr.

I did another pg test this morning with fmu and the line was way fainter than Friday's which I'm taking as a good sign, so I'll hold off calling the epu for now. Hopefully by this time next week it'll be bfn. On the down side, the progesterone drop is making me REALLY MOODY Blush the house is a tip but all I want to do is snuggle in bed and watch films.

MrsJLS85 · 12/11/2012 13:34

Just a quick hello from me (used to be 'jessie0343'). I haven't looked on this thread in weeks and weeks, but I just wanted to share I little success story: I was one of the first posters on this thread back in... july I think it was... when I had my first MC at 6 weeks. I then fell pregnant immediately again, and MC again at 6 weeks.
Well I just wanted everyone to know that I have reached the 12 week point of my third pregnancy in a row, and had a very successful and lovely scan last week. I feel so happy and thrilled, and know that this is baby is the one that was meant to be.

Good luck to everyone going through your journeys. fingers crossed for BFPs all around very soon!

BraveLilBear · 12/11/2012 16:12

That's great news MrsJLS85 Thanks for popping in to share! You must be delighted Grin

Love hearing good news, especially on these threads. Hope springs eternal!

Hope you can enjoy this pregnancy as much as possible.

AWomanCalledHorse · 12/11/2012 20:59

Congratulations MrsJLS85! Hoping to hear of your boring, painfree & quick labour next year..and that you manage to enjoy the pg.

I think I'll be a bag of nerves next time I get a bfp, and not able to relax at all (with DS we had a scare at 36wks), but I hope it's all worth it in the end. Don't feel strong enough to go through this many more times..

Hannah, I hope you have a good week & enjoy seeing Sarah Millican! I don't really celebrate my birthday but having a mc really made me hate it!

Jamesand, good news on the fainter line! Hope your mood gets back to normal soon!

messtins · 13/11/2012 08:56

Congratulations Mrs J - thanks for coming back to let us know, we like to hear success stories! All the best for a very uneventful 6 months.

EchoAlone · 13/11/2012 09:51

Congrats, MrsJ!

I know how you feel, AWoman, about nerves/fear. I did POAS (too early) and the test was so cheap it took ages for even the control line to appear, so I thought the more important line might also develop, and my hand was shaking so much with hope (for bfp) and fear (that it would be another mc).

Today I feel definite PM cramps, so expect to be back to day one soon. Since the MC my cycle is shorter. It used to be around 42 days! Now its 24. Maybe it's because I am 42.

DH does not want to TTc as he is having health problems, and our DS would be at least 11 by the time a baby comes. So I have sadly decided just to TTC for 2 more months. I am upset as I really love babies, and the DS would be so happy, but part of the DP's problem is caused by stress, so another baby, however much I long for one, would make the situation worse.

SallysTrying · 13/11/2012 10:57

Congrats MrsJ!

Echo sorry to hear that, I hope whatever you end up doing turns out for the best for you.

Still no AF here, or any signs of it showing up. No symptoms to speak of either other than being quite gassy (sorry...) - I'm quite tired but that's just a symptom of sleeping badly in a crappy hotel bed.

Testing again on Thursday morning if still no AF. ARGH I hate this bit.

KittyBump · 13/11/2012 13:49

Congratulations mrsJls85 so pleased for you :) and hope everything turns out the best for you echo
I'm off to hospital for blood tests at 4pm then back in tomorrow for 'tablets' which I hope I'll be allowed to insert myself! I've had no bleeding for 3 days now so completely confused! Asked for another scan but that would then delay things so guess I'll just go with the plan. Fingers crossed it works

posyplum · 13/11/2012 14:34

Such lovely news Jessie! Am so pleased for you Smile After everything you've been through this year that 12 week scan must have been the best feeling. xxx

Sorry I haven't been on much ladies. I have felt a bit down about ttc recently. Onto cycle 5 post-mc now... [sigh]. Shagweek next week though, so I'll be back in the game then! Hope everyone's well. xxx

BraveLilBear · 13/11/2012 15:25

Sorry to hear of your troubles Echo - like Sally says, hope things end up the best, whatever happens in the next few months.

You sound very upbeat Kitty, all things considered! Hope it all goes ok and self-application is permitted.

TTC sucks, doesn't it Posyplum. It's just endless waiting, endless thinking about what might have been and what might be. Here's hoping that shagweek is the light at the end of this tunnel for you. Plus, you're allowed guilt-free Wine and coffee. Scant consolation, but if it helps take the edge off...

SallysTrying · 14/11/2012 09:19

Good luck today Kitty, hope it goes ok.

Still no sign of AF. Still gassy. Still tired. Boobs now sore. Bit more crazed. Testing tomorrow.
