can I pop a foot on? first cycle after a miscarriage at 8 weeks, OPK gave me a smiley yesterday so guess I'm back on the buses, AF due on October 2nd. Kinda want but don't want a BFP cos I'd just be worrying again, do you think I can go to sleep and nap through to 12 weeks?

TakingTheStairs · 17/09/2012 17:01

Welcome MrsTwinks So sorry to hear about your miscarriage. Fingers crossed everything goes well for you this time.
Unfortunately we don't have the ability to send you to sleep until you reach 12 weeks, but between us we have enough sugary goodies to send you into a diabetic coma instead. Will that do Grin

I've just had my first :) on CD14. I was worried I wasn't going to get one (first month using OPKs), so I feel more relaxed now.

TakingTheStairs · 18/09/2012 07:56

Ella0 that's great news! lucky you.
Still no smiley face for me. Still hopeful though.

OP posts:
chookford · 18/09/2012 08:52

Morning ladies

Think I have been having some ovulation pains but not entirely sure( I am trying really hard not to start poas as I know it will make me more stressed and probably hinder my chances!) so to take my mind off of it and try to relax I have made some bread! (tyring to move away from the cakes! my waistline is feeling it!) am putting on a pot of coffee... anyone like a cup?!

wavesandsmiles · 18/09/2012 09:41

I would LOVE a cup of coffee - many thanks :-) I decided not to try the OPKs this month, so trying not to stress either. DD and DSS both had birthdays at the weekend, so I am avoiding cakes too. DH and I are really hoping we get a BFP within 3 months, as otherwise we could end up with a very expensive September each year....

chookford · 18/09/2012 10:00

Ahh hope the birthday celebrations went well Waves Yes me and hubby were saying that we have our DD in June and my DSD in July so if I am lucky enough to fall soon we will have another birthday in between those two.. expensive but if I get to have another bubba I really dont care! Grin fx we all get our bfp soon!

weechops · 18/09/2012 13:48

cd14 and still no smiley. Got one cd16 last month, but just found out dh has to leave for work tomorrow and won't be back til next friday sob :(

chookford · 18/09/2012 14:08

Oh no Weechops sorry to hear that... I shall make some Irish Coffee's, heavy on the "Irish"! Hopefully you may be lucky and maybe tomorrow will be your day.. anychance of jumping on hubby before he leaves?!

TakingTheStairs · 18/09/2012 14:33

oh no weechops that sucks Sad
Keep going for as long as you can, you never know what could work!

I'm in the same boat, DH is going away on Sunday and no smiley for me yet Sad

OP posts:
chookford · 18/09/2012 14:37

here you go Taking < passes a rather large glass of Irish Coffee> fx that you get your smiley before he goes away... god this ttc lark is hard work isnt it! Confused

TakingTheStairs · 18/09/2012 14:54

Thanks chookford I needed that

It really is hard work!

Now for a quick walk around the block before I murder one of my work colleagues.
Back in a bit.

OP posts:
chookford · 18/09/2012 17:31

lol Taking don't murder anyone, or that would really mess up ttc!!! Just glue their hands to their keyboard or something.. that would be amusing! ( assuming you work in an office... otherwise it just wouldn't work!) Grin

ella0 · 18/09/2012 17:53

chookford I would love a cup of coffee as I'm not allowing myself any in real life - thanks! I was an absolute coffee addict; surprisingly I'm not missing it as much as I thought I would.

Takingthestairs and weechops as long as you DTD a day or two before you get a smiley you'll probably still be ok (as sperm can live for up to 5 days (so they say).

I've never noticed ovulation pain before, but I think I may have experienced it today (not a pain as such, but an unusual pressure low down on one side). I think I probably feel it every month but have never twigged that that's what it is. I'm so much more aware of every twitch since ttc.

TakingTheStairs · 18/09/2012 22:00

Fingers crossed for your twinges Ella. I'm an emotional mess today (see earlier anger with colleagues as proof) so I'm hoping that's pointing in the right direction too.

As for the suggestion of superglue and keyboards... I like it!

OP posts:
chookford · 19/09/2012 08:48

Hi Ella I can make you a de-caf if that is any good?! fx that it is ovulation and pretty soon you may get a bfp!

Taking I have many suggestions along those lines! ( I have worked with some pretty big arseholes in my time!!) Grin

TakingTheStairs · 19/09/2012 10:35

Thanks chookford all suggestions welcome.
Though in fairness they're not a bad lot. I arrived into work this morning to a very nice bottle of champagne on my desk and a card from the two most senior bosses thanking me for doing a great job with the organisation of a work event recently and saying that it was the best one they've ever had.
I was pretty chuffed Grin

At least I can enjoy it this weekend!

OP posts:
33PinkLadyApple · 19/09/2012 12:31

aah that's nice taking

I did an OPK this morning and got a faint line. I'm on CD9. Never used them before. Does this mean I'm due an egg soon or should the line be solid before I get too excited?

JellyCurls · 19/09/2012 12:37

Hey ladies - room for one more? I am on a weird cycle after a chemical pregnancy in August. Not sure when to start counting from but hopefuly due a BFP first week in October unless cramping pains today is AF making a nasty sneak appearance

chookford · 19/09/2012 12:43

Morning Jelly, fx you get that bfp soon

33 I read that the line has to be as strong as the control line for it to be a + but I am not 100% sure, I think some of the IC work differently though so dont take my word for it!

chookford · 19/09/2012 12:44

Afternoon even... where has the day gone!!!

littlepinkfizz · 19/09/2012 14:27

33 I know the cb ones say the other line should be stronger than the control but just read the instructions thoroughly just to be sure. Fx x

TakingTheStairs · 19/09/2012 14:53

Jelly - welcome to the bus!! I've added you to the list.

33 Oooh fingers crossed for you. I use the digital ones (smiley face) so I'm not sure.
On a side note, popped into Boots yesterday, bought a pack of 20 CB digital (think I'm going to need them, no smiley face yet this month) and some of this www.conceiveplus.com and it came to £55!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
