Hi, thought I'd start the new thread. This is a brilliant thread for anyone trying to conceive or who has got a bfp after mc, full of lovely ladies, fab advice and a lovely place to metal, so called because someone said metal instead of mental and the rest is history......

Congrats midget! yay yay yay! how bloody marvellous :)

daisy get to the drs about your cervix strangeness, you don't want to keep ttc to find there's something in there preventing owt happening? What a crap boo.ss :( And btw I had ov sticks and had a positive one but NO EWCM or randiness etc so carried on dtd as wasn't sure I had actually ov'ed... Thought maybe I surged but the egg didn't release... we dtd for another week after and then I had EWCM and another near positive... dtd more (it was a mammoth month) and lo and behold that week I conceived this baby. If I had ignored my natural fertility signs and just gone with the stick I would have stopped dtd too early and missed my delayed ovulation! Also you can have a smily face etc and still ov up to five days later... So go with your body and keep dtd :)

thanks for the congrats peeps, am reet chuffed indeed.

backwards nearly 20 weeks! Ahhh I can't WAIT to be 20 weeks!

Just popped in and saw midge's news! How FANTASTIC! You went through 8 mcs, you brave brave woman. I can't imagine going through so much. And now your baby is here Grin What an inspirational story! You don't need me to tell you to enjoy him xx

Jollyb · 18/10/2012 07:53

How are you this morning Midge? Hope you managed a few hours overnight.

dorita I've been a bit naughty and done a couple of tests - BFN. Period was due yesterday but I may have Ov'd late according to my monitor. Time will tell I suppose but got a feeling this isn't my month.

Back ache sounds a good sign to meWink

Polka - interested to hear about your plan for tantric sessions!

Jollyb · 18/10/2012 07:54

Just re read my post and must apologise for the terrible grammar!

farfallarocks · 18/10/2012 08:25

Just popping in to say congrats to midge wonderful news and so deserved!
pebs great news about getting to 16 weeks. My midwife refused to listen to the heartbeat at 16 weeks as she said it was often too hard to hear and then people panicked so just wanted to warn you!
I went to have an extra scan as I could not wait until 22 weeks.
38 weeks here and just trying to get through the last 2 days at work, shattered!

AlphaBeta82 · 18/10/2012 08:32

Can I creep in. Haven't dared venture in here until this point as felt I might yoyo in and out judging by previous experiences. I am currently 7w1d pregnant, after 3 miscarriages this year all ending before 6 weeks. This time seems to be going much better, hormone levels all good, good heartbeat on an early scan at 6w6d and lots and lots of strong symptoms. So though I can't and won't relax just yet, just wanted to mark my place in the corner and hope I can stay here!

Had a quick look through all the lovely previous posts and so please for those who are progressing so well!

pebspop · 18/10/2012 09:18

far i have spoken to my midwife about listening in and she said she can do it if i want and she will try her best to find it. i wasn't very confident about it as last time i was 16 weeks they couldn't find it (they didn't try very hard if you ask me) and i was one of the panickers runnning to hospital for a scan! i feel like that was the begining of the end of that pg. i am still having my fortnightly scans upto 20 weeks so i am back there next week for another one.

can't believe you are 38 weeks - don't think i would still be in work! i am saving all my holidays to add on the begining for a rest.

come back and let me know when you get your baby! you give me hope that my pg can work out!

welcome alpha are you trying anything different this time? did you find out why you had the 3 mcs?

AlphaBeta82 · 18/10/2012 09:42

Thanks pebs. no reason for MCs so far, this I have done a few simple things such as cutting out caffeine completely and have been advised to take baby aspirin, which i did from 4 weeks.

They think I am probably just unlucky as have 20mth old dc already with no previous problems, either that or their theory is I fall pregnant too easily and my body doesn't realise as quickly as others that the egg isn't viable?? (apparently there was some paper about this completed recently).

Good luck for your next scan pebs, sounds like it is all going well. Smile

pebspop · 18/10/2012 10:09

I am taking aspirin and heparin injections for blood thining this time.

I hope it is going well but i lost a baby last year somewhere between 16 and 20 weeks so i am in major panic mode for the next month.

Moominsarescary · 18/10/2012 10:48

They found the heart beat at 16 weeks for me pebs it did take a little searching though.

far 38 weeks, not long now. Hope the next few days at work are easy ones.

midge thinking of you and baby midge

Welcome alpha sorry you have found yourself here and fx everything goes well for you this time.

23+1 here and all seems well. Starting to feel a little better now I've reached a point that if the stitch fails the baby at least stands a bit of a chance. I'm aiming for 28-29 weeks, anything past that would be a bonus! It seems to be going so slow!

StateofConfusion · 18/10/2012 13:11

Its wonderful to hear so many of us are progressing well.

Those further along are you having the flu and whooping cough jabs? I had my flu one fine, bit sore for 3/4 days or if a dc pokes it, but crikey the whooping cough ones hurting feel like my shoulders had a thorough beating! All worth it of course as its to keep wriggler safe, vital when I have two in school/nursery who are surrounded by germ monsters all day, never get ill themselves but pass stuff to me and dp nicely!

Moominsarescary · 18/10/2012 16:08

I don't think I'll be having the flu jab, they wouldn't give it to me with ds3 as I'm allergic to egg an the only time I did have the jab I reacted quite badly to it. I'm going to talk to the mw next week.

farfallarocks · 18/10/2012 16:27

State that will be the tetanus that is causing the arm ache, the jab includes polio, diptheria, tetanus and Whooping cough.

wilderumpus · 18/10/2012 17:50

state I will have the jabs. Did the research for the flu one and spoke with my science PhD friend and all seemed fine so had it then and will now. Same with whooping cough when the time comes. UG to tetanus though, that hurt me like hell last time I had it!

had my booking in appt today. was really lovely and they were so considerate about my mc's, unlike the medical stablishement who have all been really dismissive of my two 'chemical' pgs as if they don't count. They did to me and they were a baby that nearly made it and then didn't. not a fluke or one of those things. three mcs in a row people, how much drama do they need for it to 'count'?

and that is my rant for the day over Grin

hope everyone is well, hang in there jolly it ain't over yet!

HettyTurner · 18/10/2012 19:34

wilde I really hate it that my GP won't count my chemical either, she just said that I tested too early (like it was my own fault). So glad the MW was much more sympathetic.

dorita back ache does indeed sound promising, and Jolly fx you just tested too soon. Anyone else in 2ww? I'm going to test next Wed on my birthday, I'll only be 10DPO but it's my birthday Grin

Hello alpha you must have been so relieved to see the heartbeat.

Dorita75 · 18/10/2012 20:10

Thanks hetty and jolly I've been googling lower backache and it all said backache wasn't really a sign, apart from the odd person saying it was! Got my fingers crossed. It was really bad yesterday for about 10 hours now it's stopped. I can't do any tests until at least Sunday, lets hope you're are just too early jolly
Life doesn't half fly by when you live it by the 2WW...!

OP posts:
JaffaSnaffle · 18/10/2012 20:13

I had the injections. It took about 4 days for my arm to stop hurting...

Wilde, I'm glad you had a good booking appointment. The distinction between 'chemical' and 'normal' mc seems really artificial, and very insensitive.

pebs, I'm thinking of you. Late mc really has many stings in the tail, and one is metalling ramping up when everyone thinks it should be getting better. I used to feel like I was in my own little panic zone. When I was feeling most rational, I used to tell myself over and over, it's a different baby, different circumstances. But that didn't work quite as much as I would have liked....

JaffaSnaffle · 18/10/2012 20:26

Pressed too soon! Fingers crossed for those in 2ww.

News in Jaffa household is this little lady is not for turning. ECV didn't work today. Hurt a lot too. And because I had such a fast labour with my daughter, and with the 'mini-labour' last summer, I am being admitted on Tues. They won't do the c-sec until 39 weeks. So I'm in for a week at least, unless I go into labour spontaneously. I'm sort of ok about that, and the c-sec, but I am really upset about leaving my daughter for that long. I am tired and emotional, but I keep crying today. I just don't want to be away from her that long. I've only left her for one night at a time before. She is still my baby, and I can't stand the thought that these last days with just the three of us will be apart. But I know it's for the best, in the balance a bit of upset for her (and me) vs a potential emergency for her sister is a no brainer really.
She will be safe, and my baby is healthy and at term after a horrible
time, so lots and lots to be grateful for.

StateofConfusion · 18/10/2012 22:02

Thanks for the replys ladies, was worrying I was being a wimp. The nurse who I saw told me about the others included and said its perfect timing for me as I had the booster for those when I was 14 in 2002, so its been 10yrs next month meaning I'd need a jab if I ever had a bad cut or similar but I'm now covered again

MrsHerculePoirot · 18/10/2012 22:22

Oh Jaffa I think I'd feel exactly the same way - but well done on thinking positively and in few weeks time baby Jaffa will be here and how lovely that will be.
