Hi, thought I'd start the new thread. This is a brilliant thread for anyone trying to conceive or who has got a bfp after mc, full of lovely ladies, fab advice and a lovely place to metal, so called because someone said metal instead of mental and the rest is history......

pebs I agree, locality much more important for being able to pop round each others' houses for tea and cake! Go for the one for people due mid march, you are only due two weeks or so after that...

jaffa I was advised to crawl around on all fours as much as possible to get DD in the correct position. We were having building work done at the time so funnily enough I didn't manage to do it at all - have no idea if it would work!

MrsHerculePoirot · 14/10/2012 22:14

Dorita - I'm also at start of 2WW now... there is no way we can make it go any faster, I just want to know!

Jollyb · 15/10/2012 08:51

Hello all -

pebs. I agree with the others - you really want to be close to your NCT group. I doubt the 'age gap' will matter but if you do want to find some mums with babies closer in age to minipebs - have you thought about the NHS classes or even putting a post on mumsnet local. My sister didn't go down the NCT route and 7 years on she is still in touch with the women she met at her NHS classes.

On the subject of NCT friends - I'm meeting up with 2 of mine tomorrow . Both pregnant and one is very insensitive. Not sure how to play it. I'm not sure the 'sensitive' one knows about my MCs as she's moved away. I don't know whether to text her to give her the heads up so she can help redirect the conversation away from babies from time to time.

Good luck to the 2wws - I'm quite calm this time. Yes Mrs Poirot I have been using the Clearblue monitor. It gave me my peak on Day 18 this cycle- I think it may have been right as I did have EWCM around then. So apart from the sneaky test I did yesterday (just checking the batch worked!) am going to hold out til Friday.

wilde hope all ok with scan today

martha hope you're doing ok too

jaffa have images of you crawling round the floor with candles in your ears.

pebspop · 15/10/2012 09:24

Thanks everyone for reassuring me that the nct class will be fine. i checked on the website and it says that course is for due dates to end of march so i am only a few days over. with my heart shaped womb there is a risk of prem labour anyway so i might not make it to due date (this is all feeling very positive - would never talk about ante natal classes in rl!)

I ordered some maternity jeans yesterday from topshop hope they are ok. i can't squeeze into my normal jeans very well now (even with a bobble!).

SundaySunshine · 15/10/2012 10:48

Hello,
Please can I join? I had a mc in July and been dtd like love starved teenagers ever since but still not got that elusive BFP yet. My head is in a spin with imagined symptoms, strange twinges, and general metalling. Just got another BFN which means I'll be out of my 30s if I ever get a sticky one, which on top of everything else is stupidly depressing. Feel I need to sit down with some

SundaySunshine · 15/10/2012 10:50

Silly phone! Posted too early! Meant to finish off with Brew and Biscuit

Jollyb · 15/10/2012 12:48

Welcome sundaysunshine you'll be well looked after on this thread. Great to have another TTCer here. Tea and biscuits always well received too . Good luck and may you get your BFP soon xxxx

Jollyb · 15/10/2012 12:49

Didn't mean to give you quite so many kisses there!

SundaySunshine · 15/10/2012 13:43

Grin I did think to myself 'wow if these ladies are that friendly when offered tea and biscuits, I wonder what would happen if I offer cake and chocolate!'....

StateofConfusion · 15/10/2012 20:01

Welcome aboard sunshine this is the best place for advice and support, best of luck :) x

HettyTurner · 15/10/2012 20:14

Hello lovely ladies, just been reading back a bit and you all sound very friendly. I hope I can come along and share the Brew and Biscuit.

My story is had a mmc in March, a chemical in April and a mc in June, one after another. It was tough and I think I'm getting there, although had a major wobble with EDD for mmc is Thursday.

Jollyb · 15/10/2012 20:37

Hello Hetty - sorry to hear you've had such a rough few months. Welcome to the thread - it's a good mixture of TTCers, pregnant ladies and graduates.

Dorita75 · 15/10/2012 22:15

Welcome sunshine feel free to metal away here about twinges etc...

Welcome Hetty I'm sorry you've had such a bad time, you're due some luck now. X

TERM TERM!!!!! breech TERM! Hurray!

Welcome hetty and sunshine

Jollyb · 16/10/2012 08:32

Yay for Jaffa Grin

wilderumpus · 16/10/2012 10:49

shit me jaffa congrats! Grin

scan today. am metalling so hard I don't know which way is up. I think having bleeding the same night we found out about our friends' mc at 11 weeks (after seeing a hb at an early scan) has made a small part of me shut down so I am just either numb or in denial and definitely DON'T want a scan. But DH does and says seeing the 'good news' will make me happy.

I can only hope. But I don't even let myself hope! arf and eek.

hey sunshine and hetty welcome. so sorry to hear your stories, here's to a proper job sticky one soon :)

pebs, am a bit late to the debate but def stay local, AN classes are all about making friends and whatever your age, jobs or whatever, having your first baby together is a huge leveller.

good luck for friday jolly! fingers crossed chuck.

pebspop · 16/10/2012 10:54

hope it goes well wilde. i am always not sure if i want a scan but i know it's better to 'know'.

Midgetm · 16/10/2012 11:14

Good luck Wilde

jaffa GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin sod the breech bit. TERM Grin

Baby midget threatening exit in the next 24 hours. Been in latent labour for a week now. Currently strapped to a CTG machine and having waters broken soon if no action. Full metal jacket does not even begin to cover how I am feeling right now...

wilderumpus · 16/10/2012 11:16

icequeenkate · 16/10/2012 14:00

OMG - midget - how exciting!! minimidget on the way!!! Good luck.

Congrats on reaching term Jaffa - you were about 9wks when I joined this thread...gone quickly (ish)!

pebs - late replies accepted? Agree with wilde, go local. Still in touch with some of my NCT friends 8 yrs on.

SundaySunshine · 16/10/2012 14:02

Thanks everyone for your kind welcome. Wow, it's all go on here today!
wilde best of luck with your scan today
Way to go jaffa Grin
Sending midget smooth labour vibes and a cool damp flannel for your forehead.

lotsofcheese · 16/10/2012 14:14

Woo-hoo midget so excited your bubba will be here soon!!

And Jaffa full-term - what a triumph, breech or otherwise!

wilder how did your scan go?

If it's any help, I always approach it from a "curiosity" angle - eg what will they find today? Rather than "have I had another m/c" . I also tell them I don't want to look at the screen unless there is a heartbeat.

I also felt I didn't want to have the scan too! I think it's partly a denial thing & also being terrified of facing up to what it shows.

I really hope it goes well

LittleSpade · 16/10/2012 14:43

It really is all action on here today!

Yay go Jaffa congratulations on term! I really hope the baby changes position in time for you to get the birth you'd like.

All the best for the scan Wilde - got my fingers crossed that everything goes fine for you and it you just overdid things a bit the other day.

So excited for midget - lovely to have some imminent births on this thread - gives us all more hope. I hope everything goes smoothly for you and I can't wait to hear all about minimidget Grin

StateofConfusion · 16/10/2012 15:52

Hope your ok wilde

Huge cheers for jaffa reaching term and midges imminent arrival Grin
