Hi, thought I'd start the new thread. This is a brilliant thread for anyone trying to conceive or who has got a bfp after mc, full of lovely ladies, fab advice and a lovely place to metal, so called because someone said metal instead of mental and the rest is history......

Evening miggle < passes out mug of hot choc with marshmallows and cream>

Midgetm · 23/09/2012 21:43

Running in to give my twopenneth on asprin....

Congratulations Miggle hope this one sticks. I have been pregnant at least 10 times. I have 1DC and one very nearly cooked in me right now. I self medicated with asprin with DD1 - managed to get to term but stopped taking it very early and the placenta did start to fail.

This pregnancy have taken it all the way through and the placenta seems to be like some kind of super over functioning machine which is creating the biggest baby ever grown ok so I am exaggerating but 97 centile so pretty big

Until I began to take asprin after a BFP I could not make it past 13 weeks. So for me - it is a much underrated wonder drug that I feel is responsible for DD and I am hoping will help see DC2 into the world. I am supposed to stop taking it around now but I am too scared. Feel my placenta will loose its mighty power and something will go wrong. I am emotionally dependent on asprin Blush. Oh the shame!

Hurray for Marth DTD. I conceived DD in the WTF cycle after a hideously drawn out MC. I did not know how to chart or how to tell but I kind of felt horny but in a primal way. Only did it the once. Poor DH seems to always get me knocked up with just the once. Same with this DC after my EP. Poor man.

I have had a couple of metalling incidents (including my very own gushgate - was it Manda who had gushgate?) but getting close to the finish line. Consultant want to give me a sweep at 37 weeks so that is 2 weeks time. Shock She then would want to ramp up the interventions to full on induction pretty soon after. I am still toying with an ELCS. Feel that it is less dramatic and I will feel less nervous to just get him out quickly and safely. I am not sure I will be able to control my metalling with an induced labour.

Big waves to you all

Marking my place... Not quite ready to set it all out yet, but I'm pregnant again (about 5.5 weeks) after a mmc in June & molar pregnancy this time last year.

Not feeling confident, have never had so few symptoms in early pregnancy before - convinced myself it's a blighted ovum.

1st scan two weeks on Tuesday - if I last that long....

StateofConfusion · 23/09/2012 23:00

Good luck lotsofcheese I had no symptoms this time until 10wks and even then they're minimal, and doing ok so far.x

Jollyb · 24/09/2012 07:14

Morning all

Many congrats cheese and miggle yay. Wishing you both happy and healthy pregnancies.

I'm now on CD 5 (so much for my relaxed approach to TTC!!). Sounds like there'll be a few of us testing at around the same time.

littlepinkfizz · 24/09/2012 08:17

Lots of babies seem to be baked after Dtd only once midgetm.

Thank goodness as its all I may manage this month.. Cd 11 but no smiley though def more runny cm[ that's a good sign, right??]

Anyway fx for all and more hugs for woody

MarthasHarbour · 24/09/2012 08:45

Morning ladies

I was about to throw out my aspirin yesterday as i was convinced that was what caused the MC (dont worry i am looking at everything i did) but put them back, so all of your advice this morning is well timed. Next time i will take the aspirin right through as i am comforted by advice by moshers consultants on this thread.

welcome cheese and miggle and FX for sticky beans for you both Smile

AFM its my first day back at work today (going in at 10) and i am crapping myself. i was settled with a coffee watching Daybreak when the adverts came on and Ed Sheeran's album was advertised, i was sitting there willing them not to put on 'Small Bump' but yep of course they did - my heart went fifty to the dozen - i really dont know if i am ready to go back yet - i will let you know how i get on tonight.

DTD again last night! I am now worried that we are 'diving in' too soon. I am more concerned about my family's reaction if we do get pg straight away. My mum is going to be distraught as she doesnt want me to go through all that heartache again.

Some of the older posters on here will recall a bit of a backstory with me and my DM - in that she was pretty unsupportive at times. Well - we have both really turned a corner and she has been an absolute rock and i dont know what i would have done without her Smile

backwardpossom · 24/09/2012 09:45

Morning, and welcome to cheese and miggle - got my fingers crossed for you.

woody very sorry xx

Martha that's great news about your relationship with DM :)

As for me... have felt the first flutterings of baby kicking me which is nice. Of course now I'm super conscious of them and get worried if I don't feel them, which is ridiculous as I'm only 16+3. Got midwife a week tomorrow, so hoping to hear heartbeat. Should be studying for an OU exam I have this evening (French oral... bricking it) but am catching up on MN and going to have some breakfast in peace while watching the rest of X Factor some high brow programme I fell asleep watching last night. Hmm

littlepinkfizz · 24/09/2012 10:07

Lots of luck martha x

woody17 · 24/09/2012 13:28

Congratulations miggle and lotsofcheese

Ah state - that's exciting to think you'll have your baby by Christmas.

littlepinkfizz I do think that both times I've got pg, it's when we've dtd a few times on those days that ov calculator says I'm most fertile.

Good luck with your exam backwardpossum

My dad is a doctor and he mentioned taking aspirin to me over the wkend when I told him I'd mc again. I think I might try it next time...

MumTumWanted · 24/09/2012 13:30

Quickly popping on .....

Hope today has been ok martha

littlepinkfizz · 24/09/2012 14:36

Aw lovely backward makes me feel all fluttery for you x

webminx · 24/09/2012 19:37

Hello again,
Congratulations to all those with good news of any sort - BFPs, jobs and jeans!
Have had first WTF cycle after the mmc and have just finished period. I feel bizarre - bloated, crampy, sore and HUGE boobs, twinges where I wildly imagine my ovaries to be etc. Is this normal now? Am I ovulating? Should I get ovulation sticks? Last time I remember feeling like this was when I came off the pill four years ago....

MiggleMoo · 24/09/2012 19:45

Hi webminx that was exactly how I felt when ovulating after mc. After the wtf cycle I think your body can be very confused. With the last pregnancy I ovulated 4 days after bleeding finished and caught, lost at 5 weeks.
Good luck!!!

MiggleMoo · 24/09/2012 19:45

lotsofcheese · 24/09/2012 20:01

Hi webmix - just to say my cycle was up the creek for a good few months after m/c. Am usually cd 23-25 girl - 1st cycle was cd 31 & I thought I'd cracked it - no such luck! Started TTC cycle 2 only to bleed from cd 11-16 & then AF at cd 22. Then a 17 day cycle. Got pregnant the next cycle though!

The only way I could find out what was happening in my cycle was to use Amazon cheapy OPK's & HPT's......

woody17 · 25/09/2012 09:41

Hi all

Just wondering - how many of you cut alcohol out completely when ttc?

Hope you are all ok. Bleeding has almost stopped and feel ready to ttc again.

Midgetm · 25/09/2012 09:44

Glad the end is in sight. No I did not cut it out but I think both successful pregnancies I had drank less (as DC1 was a WTF conception). I love wine though so I am not a good role model.

woody17 · 25/09/2012 10:29

Spoke to dr this morning and he suggested that I try cutting it out completely while ttc. I think I'm going to follow his advice and just have the occasional glass of red wine.

I don't drink much anyway but I will drink up to getting a BFP if that makes sense.

Just wondering what everyone thinks about his advice.

Midgetm · 25/09/2012 10:32

Woody It is standard advice for those that struggle to conceive but both my consultants for RMC told me it was not necessary if you don't drink too much anyway. They were both quite chilled about it as it can help relax you which is also important. Can't do any harm though and by the text book it would probably help you raise the odds slightly. I found I needed it to help get me through -ve tests and sulking.

woody17 · 25/09/2012 10:47

Ah ok thats midgetm I seem to be ok at conceiving, just haven't managed to get to 12 weeks yet.

I think I'm just going to stop drinking lots on the now occasional nights out that we have.

Did your consultants say anything about caffeine?

woody17 · 25/09/2012 10:47

Sorry - that should have been thanks midgetm

littlepinkfizz · 25/09/2012 11:20

I try to cut down to 3 at the most coffees a day when ttc and not too strong.
When I get the BFP I usually cut it out completely, mainly because I can't stomach it until about 4 months, then I just go back to 3 fairly mild cups a day.
As long as you are sensible and don't overdo dot ( alcohol included) I don't think you can do too much harm x

MiggleMoo · 25/09/2012 12:00

Hi Woody,
I was told that alcohol was less of a problem (in small doses) than caffeine. I drank the odd glass till BFP as like you concieving never the problem! I have cut out caffeine and alcohol completely now, we'll see it that works this time round!
