Hi, thought I'd start the new thread. This is a brilliant thread for anyone trying to conceive or who has got a bfp after mc, full of lovely ladies, fab advice and a lovely place to metal, so called because someone said metal instead of mental and the rest is history......

grain sometimes your brain can be willing but the body not so helpful! I find using preseed is good as it's a lubricant as well as giving the sperm a boost!

Don't know about virtual drunkeness Martha but as I've given up alcohol I've had a right pigout tonight with cherry bakewells, nuts, cheddars, choc mousse and marshmallows...nothing virtual about how fat I feel now!

Rins in, hugs the legs of Martha and Pebs extra hard.

Grain I don't use the dreaded sticks as I find it makes sex too mechanical so I kind of trust my body to do it when it feels horny and therefore more likely to conceive. bloody hippy

Lurcher they may just think it is a bread bloat - that is what my lot thought until I was 22 weeks. Big waves to you all.

MumTumWanted · 21/09/2012 07:49

I'm 9 weeks today no further odd pains and plenty of nausea and sore boobs which is yuk but obviously good.... But my first mc was 9 weeks .... Why is it normal happy dates ( anniversarys birthdays and the like) fall out of my brain so easily yet these ones are ingrained my heart so deeply Sad

Leaves big juicy fry up with plenty of decaf tea coffee and juice and even a hair of the dog virtual bucks fizz to sooth marfs virtual hangover Wink

Jollyb · 21/09/2012 08:38

Hello all. Just wanted to say good luck for your scan today pebs.

MarthasHarbour · 21/09/2012 09:47

moooooorning!! i am feeling all positive today at-the moment my bleeding has all but gone and i proudly announced to DH this morning that 'tonight is the night for making luuuurve' he gave me a Hmm look followed swiftly by a Grin i am sure i felt an OV pain a couple of days ago so we may have missed the boat but i am FX that the egg is hanging around for a bit...

mumtum i know what you mean about anniversaries. i have too many Sad ones coming up, as i should have been finishing work at the end of Nov and my birthday is two weeks after bubs was due.... take one day at a time, and say 'today i am pregnant'

pebs squeezing your hand tightly and wishing you all the bestest for today Smile

i read a little about Lily Allen on wiki last night as i know that she has had terrible experiences with MCs and a stillbirth. I forgot that she is pregnant again after successfully giving birth last year so i am wishing her all the very best of luck too Smile

JaffaSnaffle · 21/09/2012 09:47

Pebs, good luck today. Thinking of you.

Martha, you are in my thoughts so much. I haven't posted for a while, but read your comments about twattish woman. There is something quite weird about the public nature of a late mc isn't there? Sometimes it's a mercy that you don't have to explain why you feel like shit, and sometimes the unexpected kindness of acquaintances is wonderful. Other times, it is horrible, and you have to cope with totally crap reactions of people who you would hope would behave better. It gets better. But the nice ones will keep you in their thoughts and look after you for a long time afterwards.... sending you such a bug hug. Hope the bleeding stops soon. It drags it all out...

I'm trying to distract myself. I'm going into hospital this morning because I had a fall. My DD is going through a really meddling/ rooting phase, and was messing with a flannel. I didn't realise she had run it under the tap in the downstairs loo, and dribbled water all over the kitchen floor when I was washing up. I slipped. I am calming down now, but went into complete shock. My wrist is really sore, so in hoping that that was what took the brunt of the fall. Just waiting for my husband to get home.

pebspop · 21/09/2012 10:58

hope you are ok jaffa

good on you martha for getting back on the horse!!

scan was a-ok today! the nurse wouldn't tell me the measurements which was annoying but when we got outside dh told me he had seen them on the screen and it was 11+4 which is a bit ahead of what i would expect. i assume she was a bit out on the measurements but 11 weeks is where i should be. very glad about that. previously they have put the dates back at every scan i have had until i would have concieved after the bfp.

got the dating scan on thursday so popping into epu first for a little pre-scan-scan in case there is bad news and i don't have to hear it in the horrible ante natal clinic. also seeing my consultant to see how we are going to manage the next few months. they are looking after me better than i could have ever expected.

StateofConfusion · 21/09/2012 11:08

Great news pebs

littlepinkfizz · 21/09/2012 13:22

Greats pebs keeping fingers x and offering you my last rolo for extra luck!

JaffaSnaffle · 21/09/2012 13:28

Baby is fine, I'm just stiffening up all over. DH has been given day off, so I've gone to bed. I really love my hospital, so much so that it makes me well up a bit. They were so good. They have rearranged everything recently though because of an extension. tiago, if you see this, quite a lot has moved and the signage has not been changed yet...
Only sad thing was is that the maternal and fetal assessment unit is in the old delivery suite, so I was seen round the corner
from where I was induced with my mc last summer. Obviously I haven't been back since. Was a bit eerie.

JaffaSnaffle · 21/09/2012 13:31

pebs I'm so pleased for you :) it's looking good, and so glad they are treating you with lots of care and thought too x

MumTumWanted · 21/09/2012 14:21

Fab news pebs and Jaffa Grin

Afm well Blush before I get shot down .... I just couldn't help myself few days ago I ordered an angel sounds home Doppler from amazon Blush it arrived about half hour ago....... Now I know they say it's early etc don't panic etc but guess what ......
I found babys heartbeat Grin I know it wasn't mine ( I found that loads of times though ) but then just as I was getting the hang of it I found a really quiet one! So I turned the sound up put on a bit more gel and hey presto there it was a little train chugging away...... With today being one of those sad dates for me im so over the moon ( well at least I have that temporary 'its ok ' feeling like during a scan) now must not get as obsessed with Doppler as I became with poas Blush repeat must not obsess must not obsess knowing damn well I can't wait for dh to get home to show him my new toy

Hope everyone is ok and that's Marfs hangover Is easing off x

StateofConfusion · 21/09/2012 14:34

Ah mumtum I'm glad it brightened your day, I've been seriously tempted by one all along, but I have a tilted uterus and exceptionally difficult babies so dp really didn't want me to get one (mws find it impossible on me and I've always been sent for a scan so he has a relevant point) but enjoy, I think I'd spend all day listening in.

pebspop · 21/09/2012 14:40

mumtum you are making me want one. MUST NOT BUY ONEMUST NOT BUY ONEMUST NOT BUY ONEMUST NOT BUY ONEMUST NOT BUY ONEMUST NOT BUY ONEMUST NOT BUY ONEMUST NOT BUY ONEMUST NOT BUY ONEMUST NOT BUY ONE

i want one though....

Tiago · 21/09/2012 14:45

I got an angelsounds one - and only used it once (finding HB after a bit of practice) as then she started moving/kicking anyway :)

You do need to remember to use a lot of gel though. And if you can't find a heartbeat at any point, you should also bear in mind that according to mine, both of my cats are zombies.

MumTumWanted · 21/09/2012 15:07

Lol Tiago oh your poor cats Wink

Pebs i did think about it last time but ended up going for a scan at 6 the 7 then 8 weeks during this time there was no growth so I saw little point getting one but with the help of cyclogest and aspirin I'm as far along as I have ever been excluding my dd of course this time but Dh really didn't want to push for another early scan so this in my head was a compromise Wink
Today I'm glad I did ..... Today i am pregnant
Ah damn I phone can't scroll back ....

MarthasHarbour · 21/09/2012 15:08

zombie cats tiago Grin Grin

pebs i had a little emotional flutter at your post - i am so happy for you, and cheers to 11+4

jaffa i am glad your wrist is ok (and baby Smile ), and that your hospital are looking after you so well. I know what you mean about being there though, unfortunately the room i was in 2 weeks ago is in a separate annex but right in the middle of the ante natal ward, the one where i was induced with DS 3 years ago Sad

I am still on positive mode, i have just had an amazing uplifting thought 'i am going to be pregnant again - i am' i think this thread has given me a jolt, i am reading all of your lovely stories (and keep thinking about MissC with her new DD as well as moomins with her bump after losing Jacob) i just know i can do it. Sod being nearly 40 - lets just pretend it is still the 90s and i am a over confident 20 something Grin

Me and DS are having a lovely day, we have just been freezing some cooking apples so they are ready for crumbles/pies (my friend gave me a massive booty of apples from her tree), we went to see his buddies this morning and now he is crashed out on the sofa watching Ice Age - Dawn of the Dinosaurs. I am feeling quite content until-i have to go back to work on monday at which point i will lose the plot

MumTumWanted · 21/09/2012 15:08

And state with even the pros having difficulty I can totally see where your dh is coming from, I know already it's going to make me panic if I can't find hb next time

MarthasHarbour · 21/09/2012 15:10

Happy days mumtum Smile

MumTumWanted · 21/09/2012 15:13

X posts Martha glad you are having a lovely day Smile bring on that 90s vibe and positive thoughts you will be pregnant Grin

MarthasHarbour · 21/09/2012 15:31
Grin
pebspop · 21/09/2012 15:59

just take it easy when you go back to work martha i went back a week after mc and it was hard but it gives you a routine and i think thats better than staying at home thinking too much. i just chilled out and did what i could do. i had councelling through work as well which was good. don't know if your place offer these things.

i have been thinking- four weeks ago i went to liverpool and they measured my at 7+4 and i thought that was too far ahead at the time but today 11+4 hmmm. maybe i am a little bit further on than i thought. i did get measured two weeks ago and the said 9+1 which i though was a bit more likely.

anyway i will just keep plodding on between appointments. just praying this is my time as i have three mc and no children yet. not sure what i would do if this goes wrong - not sure what more i can do.

MarthasHarbour · 21/09/2012 16:15

you cant do any more pebs other than stay strong and have faith in your pregnancy. that is how i got through it even though two of my pregnancies ended sadly. i still kept the faith which stopped me from going mental (and of course this thread is golden Smile)

JaffaSnaffle · 21/09/2012 17:10

pebs, both my daughter and this baby measured ahead of when I knew they had been conceived. This time round, in the wtf cycle, I was bleeding at the point they have dated her from. At this point, only fractions of mm can add days... But my DD has always been long/ ridiculously tall... She's on the 90 odd centile for height and always had been. My husband is 6ft 5. You might be growing a giant child too. :) I'm wishing you as much calmness you can muster in these metalling weeks. But things are looking good :)

Martha, so glad you are having a good day. Every one of those is blessing. I x posted with you before. Hope it continues tonight. :)

mumtum, hurray for hearbeats and reassurance in whatever format they come in!

I have slept most of the afternoon and woken up very stiff and sore all over my body. But relieved it was my poor wrist and shoulder that has had the worst of it.

StateofConfusion · 21/09/2012 17:26

Sorry but LOL at zombie cats, and the fact that you tried to doppler them in the first place Grin
