We filled the last one so I thought I would start no 2.

Wow check out all the legal type boss on here! You all have much more glamorous sounding job than mine (PA for head honcho at a Swiss investment bank - I almost fell asleep just typing that.....)

Nic I'm frustrated on your behalf. Really hoping you're just getting a delayed bfp and not a random wtf cycle

Kittenkatzen · 15/08/2012 07:26

*bods not boss!

NicolaHazel · 15/08/2012 07:29

I'm sure your job is far more glamorous than mine, kitten! Mine really is a standard office job when all said and done.

I hope it's that too, kitten, but I'm trying to play everything down as if it IS a WTF cycle, I know I'll take it badly.

I'm crap at waiting, I really am.

resipsa · 15/08/2012 07:41

Winkle yup, got it. To be fair, they probably are No1!

resipsa · 15/08/2012 07:42

N are you going to keep on testing? You might just be one of those who starts producing higher hCG levels late...

weechops · 15/08/2012 07:45

Good morning. I'm all excited getting weechops1 ready to go back to school today. Bloody hell you all have amazing jobs! Would it make me the poor relation if I admitted that I am a stay at home mum? Before weechops1&2 came along I worked in hospitality as restaurant/bar manager in a prestigious hotel. Seems like a lifetime ago :)

woody17 · 15/08/2012 07:49

Congratulations kick

nicola I didn't find that the cb normal tests were very sensitive for me. Got pretty much invisible lines but then tried 1/2days later with cb digital & first response and got clear lines and 'pregnant'

So I'm trying really hard not to symptom spot but I've had the worst nausea ever since yesterday afternoon. Can't even bear the smell of food or even going into the kitchen. Think it'd be too early for it to be a sign of pg though...

NicolaHazel · 15/08/2012 08:02

I've ordered the conception indicator ones Woody...fx for good news when they arrive!

And yep, gonna keep on testing. It's like some tortuous obsession I now have. :-/

CC puts my firm to shame. As does DAC, to be fair.

resipsa · 15/08/2012 08:05

weechops you have no idea how much I envy you! Deffo not the poor relation. I know that I won't be lying on my death bed wishing I'd spent more time at home instead of with DD who spends more days at nursery than with me Sad. I wouldn't work if we hadn't saddled ourselves with a mortgage payment that can't be managed on DH's salary alone

resipsa · 15/08/2012 08:06

I meant more time at WORK!

Kittenkatzen · 15/08/2012 08:09

weechops "poor relation" don't be silly! My ambition is to be a stay at home mum sometime soon. Happy first day of school to weechops1 Grin

woody17 · 15/08/2012 08:13

weechops I'm going to be a SAHM when we have children.

Hope weechops1 has a good day at school!

resipsa · 15/08/2012 08:18

weechops I'm assuming you're just buying the kit (oh, remember the excitement of a shiny new pencil case?) today rather than sending WC1 back to school 3 weeks early???

RIBS · 15/08/2012 08:19

Weechops. I'd love to b a sahm. At least for a little while. Because I'm self employed my maternity leave was almost non existent. Was back after 5 weeks after dd born, and had emergency c section. It was shit.

Fingers crossed something happens soon Nicola.

I didn't get any symptoms until 6 weeks. But felt like I'd got the worst jet lag ever combined with flu. My first symptom was bleeding gums and very Heightened sense of smell. Like kick would say if you've got symptoms you'll have enough hgc to get a positive test!

resipsa · 15/08/2012 08:19

Oh, unless you don't live in the UK in which case happy first day!

weechops · 15/08/2012 08:24

No I'm not evil mum :) we live in Scotland so our schools are back today. She is going into p2 and thinks she knows it all now :)

NicolaHazel · 15/08/2012 08:33

Having researched it, that isn't entirely true, RIBS.

Some people just don't get positive tests for many weeks, even though they have symptoms. Some people only get confirmation with an ultrasound.

Yes, it is rare, but it DOES happen. Maybe I'm one of the special ones.

Or maybe my body is just playing tricks on me. Only time will tell.

RIBS · 15/08/2012 08:37

Wow! Do they break up earlier or not have
As long during the summer?
Happy first day back little weechops! I have enough attitude at nearly 4, god knows what she'll b like in a few years!

winkle2 · 15/08/2012 09:04

I'm not a lawyer, I work in the marketing team.

Shit am I outing myself here?!

Sorry for bfn nic

Cd25 today!

resipsa · 15/08/2012 09:11

Winkle I was a bit worried I'd given enough info to ID myself in RL but then decided I didn't really care as there is no way anyone I know is on here (she says hoping very hard it's true).

KickTheGuru · 15/08/2012 09:13

Nicola - it's not "some" people. Approximately 2% of pregnant women may have positive tests about a week later than the arrival of AF but it is very rare and largely, it's because they didn't ovulate when they thought.

Certainly not trying to "put you off" but I've had WTF cycles for the better part of the past 6 months and I got all excited and looked online and chatted to people who ALL told me that "it's not over til AF arrives" but I kept getting negative tests.

AF did arrive eventually in all her glory in every single one of those WTF cycles.

I know you want us to tell you that you're definitely pregnant but I think we're all trying to make sure that if you are pregnant, we will be thrilled for you (AND it won't go anywhere until you know for sure). But if you aren't pregnant, it just hurts more because you've worked it up so much.

So it's not a nasty thing, I promise. Just playing devils advocate...

NicolaHazel · 15/08/2012 09:17

No, actually I don't, kick.

I just want support and advice.

And without being nasty, I'd actually appreciate you not putting words into my mouth.

And I am also talking about more extreme situations.

But I'll take your comments on board.

KickTheGuru · 15/08/2012 09:19

Question for Lawyer-y Types:

Ok so I've had a "formal" offer through the recruiter - he asked (over the phone - I know that doesn't make it a formal offer) if I would accept and I said that I would.

He BCCed me into their thread of emails, where they emailed him the offer and he has subsequently accepted the offer.

I have a few recruiters (and their clients) who have begged me to go to the interviews with them today, even though I've emailed and said to cancel said interviews as I have accepted another offer.

I am SHITTING myself that if I cancel those interviews and the offer gets recanted, that I am then up shit street because I've cancelled (very likely) additional job offers. The one has basically said from a telephone interview that they would move very quickly to get me on board.

I am happy with the job offer and would like to turn down the additional interviews but I am really, really scared that if I do that and the offer gets taken off the table, that I am then out of a job and out of pocket.

Any advice?

KickTheGuru · 15/08/2012 09:22

Sorry. I guess my advice isn't the advice that you want then. I will gracefully shut up and leave the other advice then - the ones that you do want.

Sorry again for not trying to get your hopes up.

winkle2 · 15/08/2012 09:22

Nic I hope you're preg too but it might just be your body getting back to normal after being on the pill? I'm speaking from my own personal experience where I've had no two cycles the same length since coming off the pill in Nov 2010! It's bloody frustrating isn't it?! And annoying cause I never know when I'm late grrrrrr
