We filled the last one so I thought I would start no 2.

Ha lolcbc. I'm a bloody insurance broker, I think mine has to b the dullest job ever.
Thinking of jacking it in to do something totally different. Like teaching assistant.

@kick. Don't keep us in suspenders, which company is it for!?

KickTheGuru · 14/08/2012 22:23

RIBS - can you give a diabetic life insurance?! (And no, it's not the start of a joke!)

Erm...it's a cinema chain Grin

winkle2 · 14/08/2012 22:24

I work for the world's number one law firm Grin

NicolaHazel · 14/08/2012 22:27

Almost a solicitor, Lol...paralegal for now, starting my training in January next year.

But I do everything now I'll do then. Just for far less money! :-/

resipsa · 14/08/2012 22:30

Winkle I'm curious. They ALL think they're no.1! Where are you? I'm at DAC Beachcroft by way of DLA Piper...

resipsa · 14/08/2012 22:33

And Nic where are you? Well done on the TC - gold dust these days (unlike when I got mine in 1991 when there were only 5 candidates for the job!).

NicolaHazel · 14/08/2012 22:38

We don't think we are number 1...we are bloody aggressive litigators though. Notoriously so. It's Camps in Birkenhead.

Beachcroft? Which office / department? My A levels aren't good enough for either of those firms, despite a GDL commendation and LPC distinction from Nottingham.

I'm jealous of the ease you qualified. I'm 6 years out of law school next year. Feels like I've taken forever to get here! But my firm really rate me, so that's rather useful.

KickTheGuru · 14/08/2012 22:41

What "type" of law firms do you lot work for?

I know a couple solicitors - one is a family and the other contract / company. I think the former is very unhappy with her lot...

resipsa · 14/08/2012 22:42

You're better off in a small place if you ask me and I've done big, small and medium. At the big 'uns, you're just another nameless fee earner; great for taking maternity leave though as definitely no guilty feelings! I'm in Manchester (healthcare) so our paths won't cross but if you're doing claimant stuff, you probably piss off my colleagues from time to time!

Lolcbcb · 14/08/2012 22:42

Kick in answer to your question re life ins my guess is yes but at a higher cost. I'm not a broker but I manage a team of sellers. Don't know as much as the expert though.
Blimey we all have exciting jobs dont we Grin

NicolaHazel · 14/08/2012 22:43

I chase ambulances, for my sins. Can't wait to move to our non-RTA department during my training.

I do not intend to work in accident claims any longer than I have to! It's soul destroying.

resipsa · 14/08/2012 22:43

PS Nic you're in Birkenhead and you're litigators; no need to add that your aggressive, it's a given Grin!

resipsa · 14/08/2012 22:45

You're not your - sloppy, sloppy, sloppy! Must sleep.

NicolaHazel · 14/08/2012 22:46

I am, and I have no doubt I do! Just the way it goes though.

I think I'll be in a much better position on qualifying as I'll have much more experience than a lot of NQs. But we will see!

NicolaHazel · 14/08/2012 22:47

Ha ha!! That is true.

I wouldn't live there though.

To bed for me too, I think.

resipsa · 14/08/2012 22:49

Final word on that topic Nic - don't envy me, I also worked at Halliwells but got out just before they went under owing millions to every man and his dog!

NicolaHazel · 14/08/2012 22:51

That was bloody lucky! Bet you felt relieved when you had already escaped. To an extent.

winkle2 · 14/08/2012 23:40

Res - I'm at CC

winkle2 · 14/08/2012 23:41

Hope that makes sense so I don't have to put full name :)

NicolaHazel · 15/08/2012 06:31

That makes sense to me...a couple of people from law school had TCs there.

NicolaHazel · 15/08/2012 06:32

Oh, still BFN. Cheapie and CB non-digital.

Hmmm!

Lolcbcb · 15/08/2012 07:04

Have any of you missing af ladies ever been pg (even if for a short time like me...)
Just wondering if you have anything to compare as to how it felt?
I'm feeling very queasy this morning but no other symptoms. No itchy boob here Sad.
Could be my mind playing tricks on me!

NicolaHazel · 15/08/2012 07:09

No, I've never been pregnant. But I've not felt like this before!

Had a couple of hot flushes this morning already.

Not keen on the uncertainty of this. :-/

Lolcbcb · 15/08/2012 07:17

I can't begin to imagine how u must be feeling hun. I'm surprised u r managing to do any work!
My best advice is wait till wkd and if no change id go to doctor on mon if u can. Even if there isn't anything particularly wrong with you at least u can find out for sure.
Hope u feel better throughout the day x

NicolaHazel · 15/08/2012 07:21

Thank you, Lol.

I'm really hoping that something - anything - happens soon!

I'm the world's most impatient person too!

Xx
