DulcetMoans · 11/08/2012 21:38

Time to move over ladies. Would love to start this thread by announcing my BFP but unfortunately I can't because we all talk too much to get to test date!

All going for gold medals in baby-making and bound to get there soon, aren't we???

Hah hah maybe, when I find them again :) My mission tonight is to finish the packing and then jump on DH for the very last time here! Maybe it will be our lucky deed ;) not clutching on straws at all

NicolaHazel · 19/08/2012 17:08

That would be fantastic timing! :-)

Lolcbcb · 19/08/2012 19:18

Maybe your hormones are just adjusting to lack of pill nic. Hopefully nothing wrong.
Go for it newbie x

NicolaHazel · 19/08/2012 19:34

I suppose that would be logical, Lol. It's just frustrating :-/

Newbie2 · 19/08/2012 20:25

It's really frustrating not knowing what is going on with our hormones, I'm with you there Nicola!! Health wise I'm feeling good...compared to the last two months. It will be interesting to see how this week unfolds as I normally get that cramping, bloated hard stomach, heartburn feeling at this time of the month.

NicolaHazel · 19/08/2012 20:29

Glad you're feeling good, Newbie.

I'm just not convinced I'm working properly. Or if it's pill-related or something else. I'm sure you're thinking the same, or something similar. :-/

Would be nice to get a definitive answer sooner rather than later.

Newbie2 · 19/08/2012 20:36

Nicola yup. Had a bit of a cry yesterday because I started to feel broken...even though I know it's too early to say that, you start thinking the worst...we're human after all.

OK so I've pre warned DH by giving him the 'DTD' look, he's returned my look with the 'you must be joking' look. So I gave him the 'it's happening, moving or no moving' look! He's got a couple of hours to chew it over :)

ScarletStarlet · 19/08/2012 20:39

Hi Ladies :) hope you are all ok, Nic your AF length must be a record, you been on injection lately? I poas yesterday morning and got BFN. sorry TMI coming up but I'm getting weird brown stuff coming out past couple of days which I've never had a period before. Have any of you had it? What is it? Should I be worried???

ScarletStarlet · 19/08/2012 20:40

Prev should say which I've never had before a period before

NicolaHazel · 19/08/2012 20:43

Poor Newbie :-(

I've just looked it up, and apparently it takes on average 5.5 months after finishing Depo injections to start ovulating (coincidentally, matching when I came off the pill) and 10 months, on average, to conceive, which will be the cycle after this one.

I need to remind myself that for me it isn't as simple as coming off the pill as Depo has more long-term effects than that.

I'm not patient though.

Your DH had best toe the DTD line tonight!

NicolaHazel · 19/08/2012 20:45

Hi Scarlet...how weird that I was posting about the injection as you asked me about it.

Sounds like implantation bleeding for you.

Wait a few days and try again. :-)

Newbie2 · 19/08/2012 20:49

Nicola it does make sense even though I'm still in denial that our bodies need that long to recover. We practically closed the ovary shop down and now we're like ok i want to go shopping again so open right away please?!! Does the injection stop you from ovulating like the pill?

ScarletStarlet · 19/08/2012 20:49

Hi Nic, took me ages to get depo out of my system that's why I ask, hope it gets out of you a lot quicker than it got out of me, I'll try again in a couple of days if still no AF but I don't feel pg to be honest (not that I ever have been) well I kinda do sometimes but not others, argh I think it's prob just a dodgy cycle for me

NicolaHazel · 19/08/2012 20:55

Yes, Newbie...affects both ovaries and womb lining, plus mucus. Everything, really.

And yes, immediate gratification required, which isn't necessarily a reasonable request. Though understandable.

Scarlet, I had my last injection last December, and started on the pill when the next one was due in February.

Unlike the last time I changed from injection to pill, I had withdrawal bleeds straight away, and continued with 'natural' AF when I stopped the pill too.

However, I'm probably being naive to think I'm not somehow being affected by the injection now.

How long did it take to leave your system?

ScarletStarlet · 19/08/2012 20:57

I didn't get AF at all for a good 9 months and after that it wasn't a normal one until about another 6 months had passed, but I was on it for 4 years without a break

NicolaHazel · 19/08/2012 21:00

Wow!

I was on it for 8 years, then had 15 months on the pill. I barely had any bleeding in that time.

I then had 3 years on it, which is the one I've just mentioned.

I'm glad I had that break after 8 years, as god knows how long it would have taken after 12 years!!

ScarletStarlet · 19/08/2012 21:06

Yeah good job you took the break, it can take ages! Fx that its out now and things progress quickly! The brown stuff I've never had before an AF but it's that long since I had a normal one till a few months ago that I don't know if it's normal or not

NicolaHazel · 19/08/2012 21:09

It could be implantation. Fx it is.

And yeah, seriously glad now. Also glad I came off the injection when I did. Wish I'd done it sooner, but didn't want to risk having AF in New Zealand, or during the epic flight, last Christmas.

ScarletStarlet · 19/08/2012 21:13

epic flight? how long is it? I bet New Zealand was amazing

NicolaHazel · 19/08/2012 21:17

About 30 or so hours in total.

It was really good, yes :-)

ScarletStarlet · 19/08/2012 21:22

That's very long, longest I've done was 14 so it must have been nasty. god this wait is driving me insane Are you taking any supplements apart from folic acid?

NicolaHazel · 19/08/2012 21:24

TTC is total insanity. :-/

I'm taking zinc as well as folic acid. How about you?

ScarletStarlet · 19/08/2012 21:26

no just folic acid, I'm pretty clueless, before TTC I was taking loads, like cod liver oil, multivitamins, evening primrose oil and CLA because I'm in the gym a lot but didn't know what was safe so just stopped them and started folic acid on its own

NicolaHazel · 19/08/2012 21:31

Yeah, some things aren't great when TTC. I think zinc is OK though.

I generally have a good diet though (this weekend excepted!) so would hope to get what I need from that.

ScarletStarlet · 19/08/2012 21:33

yeah me too, apart from last few days never stopped eating cos I feel dizzy and that's the only thing that stops it
