TTC#1 - The difficult fifth thread: the one where we all get BFP!

Time to move over ladies. Would love to start this thread by announcing my BFP but unfortunately I can't because we all talk too much to get to test date!

All going for gold medals in baby-making and bound to get there soon, aren't we???

I started taking pregnacare conception after mc which I think has Zinc as well as folic acid.
I never knew the injection could stay in the body that long nic! Don't panic nic!

It took that long to come out of me but other people I know conceived a month after coming off it so not to worry its probably just my messed up body! And yes been dizzy for mayhbe 5 days now but bfn yesterday so I'm believing that, must just be coming down with something, better not be am going to Leeds Festival in a few days!!

Just shows how we are all different! I think that is really quick in relation to Depo though.

I was dizzy last week. Just mental hormones for me :-/

I wouldn't mind the dizziness if I was pg but if not I don't want it to ruin my few days away

Gosh, my sister has just asked me if I want her garden toys that her kids have grown out of. Don't know how to respond to that. How weird would it be to have a kids slide in your garden when you don't have kids. Slightly creepy and maybe a bit soul destroying? I know she meant well.

Think I'll politely pass on that one! She doesn't know I am TTC. Guess she has so many children she's forgotten what it's like at the start.

Would you like a new member? I only just started trying yesterday and I'm fairly relaxed about it at the moment. Cycle day 12 today, have 29-34 days in my cycle but Fertility Friend has me due for my next period 7th September. I've been charting to avoid for ages so that helps, but my ovulation dates and luteal phase both vary, which I don't think they are supposed to. Not ovulated yet this month, don't know if I will as I'm not well and that tends to mean I just miss it.

I will have a decision to face if it doesn't take in the next two cycles - whether to take a cycle or two off trying to avoid potentially giving birth at close sister's wedding, knowing how upset she'd be. We also still feel a bit indecisive/scared about the whole thing - technically ready enough to try, but afraid of the consequences of changing our entire lives and not being just us any more. Sort of thing I'd love to talk over with my mum, but I don't want to tell her we are trying as she's DESPERATE for me to have a baby and I'll feel under pressure.

I am v cross af is here nearly 5 blooming days early .

last 2 cycles have been 26 days. it coming today will make it 22

WTF. really what is it doing.

and also clearly I'm not bloody pregnant (wine tonight) onto cycle 6.........

and now ill have to reschedule my smear test I have booked on Wed....

Welcome Talyra. I think it's normal to worry about TTC and the impact it will have on your life. It has taken me a very very long time to even be remotely ready for TTC - DH and I have a lovely life as it is and it's hard to take that leap into the unknown, but ultimately I know I'll never be the sort of woman who is 100% sure (I've never thought that children are something I MUST do with my life, think I must be missing a key gene), so I thought I should give it a try when all of the conditions are right on paper and see what happens. I don't know anyone who has regretted it - not even my most career-focused, independent friends, or those who are most "loved-up" with their partners.

It is hard to talk about feelings of borderline ambivalence with other people because I find that those who already have kids are almost insulted that you don't automatically think that their lives are the only thing worth striving for, and then those who never wanted children think that they can get you "on their side" and try to talk you out of TTC entirely.

TTC can become strangely addictive though, so watch out :)

I thought I knew what was going on but don't. Had first AF Aug 8th since coming off pill. Major cramps and sore boobs before as I used to get before pill. So been OPKing since it finished as assumed I would OV around this weekend / now, nothing. Then last night, more AF?!! no cramps or sore boobs and its very light, nearly pink! Whats that about? Am I CD1 or CD13???

Hi to the newbies.

Thank you for your kind words. Just stunned by what's happened (my cousin's son is the lad who was swept out to sea in Burnham).

I just feel awful for them all. It's just such a horrible thing to go through.

But I don't want to bring you all down. I'm not really focussing on TTC today though.
