Sperm meets egg meets CBFM?

Does anyone know how the sperm meet egg plan works alongside the clearblue fertility monitor? I'm hoping to shock my poor body into actually conceiving this month by combining hardcore science with good old fashioned well timed shagging.

So, if I'm supposed to bonk on the 3 days following a positive OPK, in CBFM world does that mean the 3 days following first peak reading? Or the 3 days following first high reading? I'd assume the former because the CBFM predicts LH surge but I'd be grateful for any advice and success stories using SMEP.

After having tried any which way to get pregnant for the last 6 months sans success, I WILL get pregnant this month. By hook or by crook!

Oh IRB :(

How long have you been trying?

Idratherbe · 07/09/2012 12:49

That's now 6 cycles post-MC at 8 weeks on Christmas Day. Seems like a lot longer though. Come ON Baby %232!

I've been trying for a year, it's crap :(

Fay30 · 09/09/2012 07:58

Well we did some serious, serious, and more serious dancing around ovulation time.

But as just as before, the period arrived late last nite.
Bang on time, as has been for the past 7 months of charting.
Depressed again.

Fay.

Faye Sad and Winkle Sad, what on earth can we do to cheer ourselves up?

All we can do is keep trying :(

Idratherbe · 09/09/2012 20:01

I do wonder when I'll start to get bored and depressed, but as it is I tend to feel at my worst in the days running up to my period, especially if I've tested and got a BFN. Once the fat lady sings I just feel optimistic again, ready to start a new month. To be frank, I am still puppyishly in love with my DH (even after 11 years together) and the sex is always great even when we're trying for a baby, and as he puts it, we should look on the bright side of it taking a few months longer than planned Wink.

Right, enough of the soppy stuff. What our plan this month? Well DH has begun to realise that it's not just a walk in the park and being that he's in charge once more has decreed that we're not drinking midweek anymore. I also suspect that I can expect a lot more sex. One does what one must...

I'm in 2ww I think. I went on hols but didn't have any sticks for the monitor and I couldn't see any at the airport so we just dtd every day on hols - 3 days in a row. I was getting high in my monitor before we left do fingers crossed we covered the right time.

Hi Winkle, Hi Idratherbe,
It does get a bit tedious, month after month, with nothing to show.
We keep up a brave front, behind sad faces.
We have used several tubes of conceive plus over the 2 years we have been really charting and trying.
Perhaps a tube of pre seed, before we book the ICSI.
He is an absolute marvel though, couldn't ever ask for more or better.
Some times I am really sore down there, so the lube is an absolute necessary.
When we are just shagging, like, when no egg is in the area, we just use baby oil, then for a day or two before the egg is any where near, we switch to the sperm friendly lube.
Fay.
