I'm 38 in November if that helps lol?
But at least we're well practiced at this shagging malarkey... Wink Hopefully we'll be pg in no time! x

LeenHS · 12/09/2012 15:29

Hello.. I'm new to the group. Married in May and TTC to conceive ever since, with no luck. Trying really hard not to get low or obsess, but inside finding it a little tough. I know it's fairly early. Cycle was regular to 28-30 days. But the last few months my period had been getting shorter and this month came after 26 days... Which was a first. That's all really. Seems like a good thread.

LeenHS · 12/09/2012 15:29

Oh and I'm 31!

Bunnygirlie · 12/09/2012 22:24

Welcome Leen! How is everyone doing? x

Welcome leen!
To answer the question bunny, unshagged and paranoid Confused and obsessing far too much about ways to increase fertility etc off the Internet. Eg eat carrots, avoid slim milk, blah blah.

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 13/09/2012 02:34

skim milk.. Though come to think of it, it might as well have been called slim milk

janey1234 · 13/09/2012 09:31

Hello leen and welcome!

Urm zombies, what's this about milk and carrots? And how has my extensive internet stalking research not revealed this to me?! Should I not be drinking milk?! Argh!

Bunny - becoming slightly obsessive but all good, thanks for asking. Now on cycle two of ttc, and this month am trying the clear blue ovulation stick thingys as last month I had absolutely no idea if, or when, I ovulated. Day 9 of this cycle so would imagine it's coming up to D-Day soon. WHY can't we just ovulate every other day or something and find out IMMEDIATELY if we're pregnant or not?! All this waiting around already driving me mad. I'm not sure I'm going to be very good at this ttc malarkey....

frantastic1 · 13/09/2012 10:37

Hello everyone,
Welcome Leen - these girls are brilliant, full of information and support.
AF arrived this morning, and I think the Hubby is more gutted than me!
So I'm joining all those in the maybe next month camp.
At least I've now had 2 months of a 28 day cycle. I marked today with a ? mark in diary and its spot on.
I did thnk I BFP last week - boobs really swollen, and crying at anything, but it was obviously just hormonal after coming off the pill.
So at least I know the best DTD days for next month - that's a positive, and we'll just keep going!!
The only slight concern I have now ( and its a little one) is that I don't want my child to be the youngest in its class.. does anyone else think about these things or am I over thinking!!!

MaxDaisy · 13/09/2012 10:53

Hello to all the newbies! big wave

Frantastic same here, got Af and hubby feels really deflated. He is 1 of 5 brothers and there is a running joke that they are super fertile as up to now 3 of the 5 brothers who have tried for kids have managed to get a BFP within 1/2 months, so i think he'd thought we'd be the same. I told him you still may be super fertile but i may not be etc etc. Think it's definately a male ego thing that they want to successfully impregnate their wife/partner! He's googled and has now cut out caffeine, doing more exercise and is taking vitamins. He is becoming more obsessed than me!

As for youngest kids in class, my birthday is september and i did always enjoy being the oldest kid in my class but when it comes to my baby i honestly don't mind as long as he/she comes along at some point!!!! Although my friend has a 5 year old boy who's birthday is in august and he misses out on school birthday celebrations. Apparently the school has a little tea party for kids who have a birthday on the school day and her son always asks why he doesn't get one!

janey1234 · 13/09/2012 11:15

frantastic - yes, I thought it too. Apparently it affects boys more than girls though (being the youngest in the class). So if you could choose what month to get pregnant, you might not choose now. But then again it might take us all six months - or more - in which case we'd be looking at the oldest in the class? Loving how obsessive thoughtful we're all being though!

Sorry AF has arrived frantastic and max - it's rubbish, isn't it. But fingers crossed it won't take us all too long, and in the meantime we can all keep each other company.

Can someone explain the carrots and milk thing to me?! x

PuppyMummy · 13/09/2012 18:50

I think I missed a page! carrots?!

how is everyone doing? af due sat for me, luckily v busy at work so its making the week go quick!

Bunnygirlie · 13/09/2012 22:23

Hey lovely ladies, well I'm right in the middle of DTD week as according to my app it's the best time, bloody knackering thought as hubby stressed with work and us both stressed with other stuff including house rennovation ;-p
frantastic, is it weird to be planning when we want baby to be born when we just want babies, no I don't think so. I really didn't want a winter baby so started trying June for march onwards baby, or maybe I'm just crazy too lol

OP posts:
ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 14/09/2012 06:14

So apparently carrots increase the amount of CM, and statistics show more fertility for women who have whole milk rather than skim.
There goes the diet.
Oh and apparently grapefruit juice helps ovulation?

HazleNutt · 14/09/2012 11:29

Well I'm back here. Got my BFP earlier on this thread, but started bleeding and today had a scan and they didn't find anything. Guess it counts as chemical pregnancy so early on.
Let's see what next month brings, at least we know that some parts of us are working. Fx for everybody else.

janey1234 · 14/09/2012 15:06

Oh hazle, I'm so sorry. Can't imagine how you're feeling.... I had a mc at 12 weeks last year and it's a terrible, terrible sadness, sending Wine and Thanks your way. And a few hugs too. Look after yourself hey, and make sure you take it easy over the next few days/weeks - hopefully your body will start to settle down pretty quickly. And as you say - at least it's possible, even though it sadly, sadly didn't work out this time...

xx

MaxDaisy · 14/09/2012 15:44

Ah Hazel so sorry to hear that Sad Like Janey said, take care and fingers crossed for next time. Hope you're ok. Sending lots of virtual Hugs xxx

HazleNutt · 14/09/2012 18:29

Thank you, I'll be OK, bit upset of course. Mostly when I see parents with kids and think that well, they managed, so what's wrong with me?
But nothing is necessarily wrong, is there? those things happen and if we didn't have all those early pregnancy tests, I would have just though the cycle is a bit messed up. Ah well, wine and shagging now I guess. Grin

So, anybody testing over the weekend?

Bunnygirlie · 14/09/2012 23:39

So sorry to hear that Hazle, hugs x

Lolcbcblemonlime · 15/09/2012 19:13

Oh hazle that is so sad!
I'm so sorry hun. I had the same thing on scan. It felt like I made up the whole thing!
Our time will come xx
