hi, got married last year, now 32 so feel it's time to try for a family, came off pill in feb but didn't start trying till June, 2 periods later no joy but I know it's very early days.....

What app are you using weeblueberry? I'm wondering if due to my age (38 in Nov, aargh) I ought to take it more seriously than just trying for roughly eod and hoping for the best?

Although last month my bf was away for four days, and it turns out that would have been when I ovulated - no wonder AF has arrived today! Even if I'd known it wouldn't have been much use....

weeblueberry · 05/09/2012 12:01

Am using one called My Days. Once you've put in your period dates it predicts your ovulation/future period dates dates. Its taken mine a few months to get the right cycle but if you already had dates from previous months you can backtrack it and it will be more accurate. :)

It's also got sections for notes (where I say if I felt bloated, hormonal etc), if you were intimate, if you took a pill, temperature (which I'm now using daily), weight (omg don't want to look at that one too much haha), mood (could be handy but is based on a number scale...?), blood flow and cervical mucas (which I haven't used yet).

It's pretty good actually - has everything I could want in it and I'm pretty sure it was free. :)

I've only been using it casually for the last few months to track period dates but now we're starting to take it a bit more seriously (regular ovulation peeing on sticks etc) it's being used on a daily basis. I think if you're very keen to be in control (which is my problem - that and impatience to find out if I'm ovulating properly etc) it's a Godsend. Good luck.

janey1234 · 05/09/2012 12:07

Thanks weeblueberry, will take a look at that now :o)

Can I join? Been trying for a few months now, though nothing happening yet...

Actually I started another thread about ovulation/period issues...honestly I have been on the Pill so long (and skipping lots of periods on it too) that I don't think I know what a 'normal' cycle is like for me or what's going on. Hopefully it'll sort itself out in a few months.

MaxDaisy · 05/09/2012 13:28

Massive fingers to all those waiting for news! OMG bunny i would definately POAS!
Im now in the dreaded 2 week wait. I have very sore breasts but i have this every month, although must admit pain is lot worse than usual but desperately trying not to look too much into symptoms after convincing myself i was pregnant last month. Not holding my breathe too much for a BFP this cycle as my hubby had funny shifts at work and we didn't see each other much. But on a positive note if im not pregnant it means i can have lots of lovely wine on my birthday!

HazleNutt · 06/09/2012 09:44

So how is everybody doing here? No AF (should i say af? I hate the expression really..) ok, period, yet. Does not mean much as I'm somewhat irregular and still in my normal window. Have obviously Grin tested already and was BFN..but it might just be too early, right? right?

Liddy100 · 06/09/2012 09:55

Morning Hazle

I took a PT this morning and to my suprise it was POSSITIVE. If the maths is right, im just 4 weeks. Trying not to get too excited though at the moment until its been confirmed by the doctor next week.

Im in a total state of shock, mixed with massive amounts of nerves! xx

HazleNutt · 06/09/2012 10:06

Congratulations! False positives rarely ever happen Smile

janey1234 · 06/09/2012 10:33

Oh liddy that's brilliant news! Congratulations Smile

You're pregnant!!

For what it's worth, when I was pg (before my mmc) last year the doctor didn't do anything to confirm it - home pregnancy tests are just as accurate as anything they will do, so just trust the results you've seen! So pleased for you xx

janey1234 · 06/09/2012 10:34

And hazlenutt - approx when are you due on? But yes, you could def have had a false negative if the hormones were too low to detect... Fingers crossed for you.

I only came on yesterday and am already bored - it's so frustrating having to wait to have another 'go'!

Liddy100 · 06/09/2012 10:36

yeah, im not worried about it being a false possitive i just dont want anything to go wrong Hmm

HazleNutt · 06/09/2012 10:37

janey, well about now, day 31 and I'm usually around 30-33, but could be up to 35-36. So realistically, no reason to believe anything has happened this month.

Lolcbcblemonlime · 06/09/2012 10:41

Hi I wonder if I can join this lovely fred? Smile
Have been lurking reading some of your comments and it looks like I'm in a pretty similar situation to quite a few if you. So I hope I won't get kicked out (panicked emoticon)
I'm 38 and only came off pill last year. Been married since 2010 to husband number 2. Took me that long to get to the right one!
Had mc in July and this is my second cycle after it.
Trying and failing to be relaxed about it.
Taking epo and conception vitamins although didn't like pregnacare conception as it made me spot quite a bit!
I'm on cd15 today. I also use an app. Mine is called I period. It did help me get pg in June!
Wow a bfp already. Good vibes!

weeblueberry · 06/09/2012 10:59

I got...um...rather a few BFPs last night too. I guess my estimate of a zero percent change of conception was a little off....oops.

Good luck all you other ladies. xxx

janey1234 · 06/09/2012 11:11

Hi lol (not sure what else to call you - tricky name!) and welcome Smile
Took me a long time to find someone too - have only been been with him nine months but I guess when you know, you know, and due to my age we've decided to get on with it!

Sorry to hear about your mc. I had one last year with my ex (accidental pg - I was on the minipill and he had a low sperm count - what are the odds?!). Incredibly hard, aren't they. But at least it's a sign we can both (hopefully) get pg again. And apparently having one mc doesn't make you any more likely to have another...

liddy - it's hard not to worry but please don't. Have everything crossed for you that it will all work out well, and there's no reason it shouldn't Grin. Completely understand though having said that! Just try not to stress too much - it's amazing news...

Hazle - you fighting the urge to poas hourly on the hour?! Or going to be good and wait for day 35/36 or so (feels like an eternity, right?!)

x

janey1234 · 06/09/2012 11:12

weeblueberry - WOW! Congratulations! I'm loving all this positive news, hoping it's contagious... Smile

janey1234 · 06/09/2012 11:13

ps weeblueberry - am definitely using that app! And getting some ovulation stick thingys - I'm a bit of a control freak at work and am going to apply that attitude to this too - has worked for you hey.

Congratulations again Smile

x

HazleNutt · 06/09/2012 11:24

janey I AM poas'ing hourly Grin Well ok not hourly but yes I have already..
Silly, I know, while I could just wait another week, but I'm too impatient.

HazleNutt · 06/09/2012 11:28

For ovulation testing, I use Persona monitor. Actually got it to use as contraception, but now just use it the other way around and make sure I dtd on "red" days. As my cycle is irregular, I don't think the traditional calendar methods would work that well - Persona measures the hormones each month and tells you when you're about to ovulate.

Liddy100 · 06/09/2012 11:30

wee - congrats to you. I took two yesterday and one today. One when i got home and saw one bright line and one slightly fainter line....then took a digital before bed which came back negative (but i had drunk about 1L of water after Pilates). Took another ditigal this morning and was a BFP.

If maths are right, i'll be due in May.

I might take another one tomorrow morning just to be on the safe side?!? xx

weeblueberry · 06/09/2012 12:02

Thanks so much ladies - I truly hope the good news is 'paid forward' to everyone here.

Liddy I'm due around about the same time - May 12th. :)

frantastic1 · 06/09/2012 12:34

Wowee 2 BPFs in one morning! That's amazing news, congratulations Wee and Liddy xxxxx

I'm quite sure that the floodgates are now open, and its only a matter of time. I another one guilty of convincing myself I Pregnant... sore and swollen boobs and stomach cramps. AF not due until 13 August though so we'll just have to wait and see...

welcome lol, yep when you meet Mr right you just know so indeed why wait x

Lolcbcblemonlime · 06/09/2012 13:10

Hi girls. Thanks for welcome. Calling me lol is lovely Grin
Wow 2 bfp! Glad I joined then he he.
What is this persona monitor? Is it like the clear blue fertility thing? Is it expensive?
I'm using cheap opk for the first time this month. Let's see what happens.
Any more poas action due?
Today it's my lovely DH birthday and also happens to be cd15. So I woke him up with (ahem) a surprise!

HazleNutt · 06/09/2012 14:02

persona: www.persona.info/uk/
Yes I think it's similar to clearblue. Its main function is not for using as fertility monitor, but as I already have it, no point buing extra ovulation kits.

PuppyMummy · 06/09/2012 15:39

hello lol

congratulations on the bfps!

bunny did u poas?
