How did you know i was lucking? Confused

What do you want to know shredder ? thinks of teenage mutant ninja turtles Grin

I have a larrrge hyperactive teenage in dog years puppy-wup. Who is too much of a wuss to swim in the sea stoopid for a water breed despite me taking him to the beach every evening on his walk.

I don't know any fab horsey facts. Sad

frustratedpants · 14/08/2012 21:48

I do know how to swear in BSL

FriendofDorothy · 14/08/2012 21:49

Me too frustratedpants. I am prolific!

HaveALittleFaith · 14/08/2012 21:50

Yes more like that pantalons. How long have you been with Mr Pants?

OP posts:
frustratedpants · 14/08/2012 21:59

Hwsmm and I have been together on and off for 8 years. Hitched for 2.

sinkingflameofhilarity · 14/08/2012 22:05

Dare I ask fsr... What is the "infamous winking sign" pls?

Fear not frustrated one. All fast fact do not have to be horse related. We do like horse facts (good job really with fsr about), but we're v nosy and like all facts. Especially if it might win a pub quiz some day.

Ooh. faife. 'twas not you with ovaries of steel superpower (as you said all along). Apologies.

So. A little game, while we're all about the factoids.

PCOS. It takes 10-15 little follicle/cysts for diagnosis. What to take a guess how many I had on my scan yesterday? which I didn't cheekily read the report of while I was at work, no siree... go on.. take a wild punt...

KickTheGuru · 14/08/2012 22:14

hops in with another guru useless fact

There is a difference between being diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and "cysts on your ovaries"

I had a few cysts but I took the pill for 3 months and they cleared up, yet I don't have PCOS. Apparently some doctors aren't very good at differentiating between the two.

sinkingflameofhilarity · 14/08/2012 22:19

Now guru. Don't you come here and give out PCOS facts without partaking in my little game.

Go on. Or I'll just tell you and that's much less fun

ShredniVashtar · 14/08/2012 22:19

hils, I reckon either 9, making you just below the threshold for actually doing anything about it, or 50, making you tear your hair out that it hasn't been picked up before?

fruzzi, a pup and a beach to play on sound great to me!

frankel is the winking what I think it is? If so I'm sorry I asked! Grin

KickTheGuru · 14/08/2012 22:20

Sinking - 30?

FrankelSaysRelax · 14/08/2012 22:20

I forgot you weren't around when I originally explained about the winking sinky!

When a mare is in season she will lift her tail and "wink" her vulval lips at the stallion. She'll also squat at him and pee a bit. Hmm

I don't recommend you try the second part, but was it blonde who tried out the winking at her other half? Grin

KickTheGuru · 14/08/2012 22:21

Sorry sinking - I had to help DH with something and missed your post and then posted. I wasn't being rude!

Ooooh I got a job offer today as well!

It's been a good week Grin

I told DH he needs to sort his balls out and fertilise me FFS! He said he's keen!

Frankel

Aside from the peeing bit, isn't that kind of what we all do?!! Grin Blush

HaveALittleFaith · 14/08/2012 22:25

As if you gave a YouTube video for that frank!

My guess was 30....I'm going to up the ante with 40!

I'm here to educate!

sinkingflameofhilarity · 14/08/2012 22:30

Wine it's that or brain bleach. Winking.

Well, seeings as people are playing, (and I can't be bothered to drag it out)..

  1. Seventy fucking three.

My main question is, why on earth they kept counting. I'm pretty certain that by, ooh, 30, the diagnosis might have been obvious.

And Shred, fear not. This is not news. But first time I've been given a number. I feel strangely proud. If my ovaries are going to fuck up, at least they're doing it big style.

Guru- new job? Do tell! (and don't worry- I was just joking before)

KickTheGuru · 14/08/2012 22:47

Geez sinking that is crap.

I did feel the same with my fibroids at 27. Other girls were fannying about all proud of their "grapefruits". Mine was as large as a watermelon and it ATE and GREW a fucking grapefruit for fun

I like reading the side effects of fibroids and one is "heavy periods" - I would bleed through 2 tampons and a pad in about 5mins. I used to stagger along the streets and have to hop off the tube to go from restaurant to restaurant changing my sanitary ware and when I finally got to a hospital, they all patted me on the head like a deranged 10 year old and said it must just been a heavy period.

Ironically, I was admitted to hospital and every time they did haemoglobin tests, I was at about 5-6. I should have blood transfusions!
Oh and the last time, I had a blood pressure crash and a fit and was unconscious for a few minutes. Still they patted me on the head and left me to develop my watermelon!

KickTheGuru · 14/08/2012 22:48

Yeh it's an analyst role so very excited! I like data Grin

HaveALittleFaith · 15/08/2012 08:39

Sound good kicky!

Is there a particular type of co-worker you have that ask about you getting diffed? At my work it is the housekeepers. Most of them are in their 50s. I'd say I get asked at least once a month including this morning. I said 'God knows' this morning I guess he does and said we needed to deal with the stresses of the last year before we bring a baybee into it. Sort of true if you discount the last 2.75 years!

What's everyone up to today? I think I'm going to leave early if I can. I feel rough and I've got tonnes of time owing. 2 days left of being 30....

Maybe we should sign off our posts with a fun fact? Mine will be about older people (since that is what I know).
the brain naturally shrinks with age - resulting in some memory loss that tends to be attributed with 'old age'. When you are younger it weighs about 1.3kg but shrinks to be about 1.2kg in old age

Norf I do feel pretty much back to normal. The last sign that I am normal again will be ovulating. I feel like the drugs are out of my system, I've had a period, now I just need to lay a flipping egg! I'm quite impatient, not least because this weekend, I am going away to work abroad for a while, so although I am not fixated on trying the way I was pre-IVF, I would like to be in with a chance of sperm meeting egg.

TBH, I am more stressed about the follow up appointment with the gynae this Friday than about ttc stuff. I just want the threat of him attacking my bits with an electrified wire thingy to be gone from my life.

Crikey sinking that is a lot of follies! On the plus side, if you ever have IVF you are probably likely to produce more eggs than a battery chicken!

Good work on the job, kick.

Faif no one asks me.

I am just filling out my application forms for a firearms licence. Well, I can't be a superhero without fancy weaponry now can I?

sinkingflameofhilarity · 15/08/2012 14:08

I also embrace the scary vibes to prevent questions. Didn't really help today when burst into tears after an argument.. Now they think I'm unfriendly and mad. Excellent.

Euro do you think I'll be battery hen like? I assumed lots of follicles would mean I'll be über resistant to induction. But I like your take on it. I shall embrace the positive thoughts!

eurochick · 15/08/2012 18:16

The main risk with PCOS is too many eggs developing and hyperstimulation syndrome! So to be serious for a moment, in your shoes, if I ever end up going for stimulated IUI or IVF, I would want it to be at a clinic where there is a lot of monitoring and adjustment of drug doses to cut the risks of OHSS to a minimum. But I don't think getting some eggs out of you is likely to be a problem!

FrankelSaysRelax · 15/08/2012 18:22

I've been told that I am at a higher risk of hyperstimulation because I have "skinny" PCOS.

Still no word from the clinic, I'll have to chase them tomorrow.

How are you doing Norf?

Northey · 15/08/2012 18:28

Blimey, sink, I hope your power involved some kind of crazy egg production. Like one of those rotary ping pong guns, perhaps.

Not great, frank, really. After a niceish day we have started snipping at each other with stress. Going to go down and apologise in a minute...

Hospital phoned this morning to say my hcg is through the roof - nearly 13000, and they would expect to see something in the womb at 1500. I need to go back in tomorrow for a rescan. They said to be prepared for a long day. But they are not fucking taking my other tube. I refuse.
