REALLY thought I was pg this month. We bd'd at exactly the right time (3 times - you GO, dh!!) and I'd been having all sorts of funny twingey and shooting-type pains in my boobs and across womb-area for the last 10 days. Even had a huge emotional ab-dab the other day and cried my heart out about a really silly row (a real rivers-of-snot, 30 min session!)

Bought 2 pg tests in readiness; AF is due tomorrow (Sat). I usually get a yukky brown smudge the day before, along with period pains and then the red blood starts dead on the 28th day. Last night (26th day) went to the loo and found a very feint brownish smudge which came to nothing. All day today it has come and gone, but is a pale pinky colour which I don't usually get. I've spent the day convincing myself AF is on its way and kicked myself for spending ANOTHER run-up to my period reading pg symptoms into everything I feel.
Part of me thinks I should just wait until tomorrow for the real AF to arrive, and then the other half thinks I should take the test whether it's a waste of money or not. I've done a search on implantation bleeds and have now put all sorts of doubts in my mind...
I hate all this fannying around, I feel like some sad old bitch (as in dog) having a phantom pregnancy every month, digging a hole under the hedge to have my pups and it never happening!!! And I hate myself for being so self-involved about the whole ttc bit. Anyone have any words for me (apart from Get A Life!)??

Unfortunately there is only one way to tell ... you gotta wait til that day 28 and then wee on the stick. When you are concerntrating, wishing and praying for it to happen it is very hard to think of anything else, as I know, but you just gotta wait.

However, is perfectly normal to be obsessed and what a keen and eager mum you will be

Look forward to reading your post 28 day post - hope it's good news

moomin, what type of tests have you got? some can be used from 3 days before your period is due. if you've got one of those, i'd do it now and put yourself out of your misery. good luck.

Moomin I am sure we have met before. You are trying for your first baby aren't you? I have had 2 mcs, 1 baby and another mc in that order and am trying for more babies (and hopefully no more mcs). I have wasted loads of pg tests and will probably waste loads more (they don't cost that much .. ) but I am also aware that they don't tell you a lot. When I had my first mc a kind lady spoke with me as I was about to go into theatre and said that in the old days you had to wait til you missed two periods before you considered yourself pregnant and now everyone upsets hemselves with pg tests. A kindly doctor sympathised with the difficult time that is early pregnancy when all you can do is wait. I really really hope that you are pg - I really do. Please let us know.

Thanks all. No, Brunhilda, this would be my 2nd. I already have a dd who's 2. I only took 4 months to get pg with her. Got pg at 3 months but then had an early mis., then got pg again straight away. Have been trying since Jan, some months more whole-heartedly than others.
My tests are Clearblue.
I've decided to go to bed now as I'm knackered. If there's still no full-on AF by the morning I'll do a test. I'm not very hopeful though... Oh well, there's always next month (AGAIN). Thanks for your posts xxxx

Know JUST how you feel - I was the same - all 3 times! I know every hour feels like a week but hang on til day 28. The longer you wait the more HCG there will be in your urine so the more accurate it will be. I've wasted pregnancy tests several times by testing early, getting a negative and then the red stuff arriving and being even more upset (probably about the wasted money on the v expensive test). Easy for me to say, I know, but be patient. Good luck!

M2T found out before her AF was due, just a faint line, but a line all the same! If it's on your mind, get one done! Even if it's negative you can do another in a couple of days.
Good luck hon.

Moomin, I was already tucked up in bed when this one started last night so I'll be the first to ask if there any news?
Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

BTW I got a negative with clearblue on day AF was due with DS1+2 yet they are both drinking their milk watching Tarzan at the moment so try a different brand if you get a -ve and AF still doesn't arrive. Boots own did the job for me, infact with DS3 it was screaming +ve at me after a tiny dip of a wee, certainly not 5 seconds in the flow. Sorry abit graphic ther wasn't I

Hello and good morning. It's day 28 and I had every intention of testing as soon as I got up. Had a quick wipe before going to the loo and had a very feint pink colour again. Lost all heart in it then and had a big wee without the test. As soon as I'd done it I regretted it as I do know that this type of "bleeding" is just not the norm for me. However, I'm scared of it being -ive so have left it. Told dh about it this morning even though I know this will get his hopes up again. He thought I was pg this month as well and was gutted when I thought I'd come on on Thurs night. We've decided to wait until tomorrow now, because if there's still no big bleed by then I'll be more confident of a +ive, as I'm usually so regular. However, he's gone off to work now and I'm aimlessly wandering round the house while dd watches teletubbies. Have been for 4 wees this morning and last 3 times I've had nothing on the tissue when I've wiped (as in no colour).
The rest of today is stretching out endlessly and I can see me doing a sneaky test if I don't find something else to occupy myself! I'be got a stinky cold and my ovary area feels heavy and a bit bloated - the latter of which could easily be AF or pg!!
Will feel very foolish - yet again - if all I have to report after today is a big fat period!

after 4 wee's, 3 without any 'colour' i'd be inclined to do the test......but i am very impatient in all situations.

Forgot to say - when I thought I'd come on, I decided to glug down a few glasses of wine and have also taken 3 lots of Nurofen for cold symptoms. Dh is cooking me a meal tonight and will be buying a bottle of wine to wash it down. maybe I ought to test this afty just so that I know not to go overboard on the drinking? (Clutching at straws, here, folks!)

You're a bugger emmatmg! I'll wait until I want a wee again and then let you know later. Don't get your hopes up, though, you're more than likely to be disappointed...
