Midgetm · 24/08/2012 11:00

Sending lucky vibes your way confused. And a pregnancy friendly Valium to help with the nerves.

ConfusedMumDotCom · 24/08/2012 11:28

Hello ladies. I'm on the bus home, so will catch up properly later. Just wanted to let you know that the scan went well, measuring a perfect 12+3 and my downs risk is 1 in 5,000. Grin

Midgetm · 24/08/2012 11:51

Great news Confused - you don't need the Valium now - I will have it back.

wilderumpus · 24/08/2012 12:02

brilliant news confused :) :)

MiggleMoo · 24/08/2012 12:47

Posted this as a seperate post as well (then on another thread as a mistake as meant it for this one!) but any help - I am at work and trying to hold off the tears!!

I have recently had 2 mcs (last one 6 weeks ago), over the weekend I started to show up on FRER tests getting darker but still faint. After a faint, but distinct line, on tuesday I did a CB digi which said preg 1-2 weeks. Just done another CB digi and it has said not pregnant. Does this mean it has gone again?

Devastated!!! what do others think?

pebspop · 24/08/2012 13:24

miggle did you get a bfn after you mc six weeks ago? the positive could have been left over hormone.

i have been for a scan today. measuring 7+4 so a bit ahead of what i thought. thats the first time i have ever measured ahead. usually the dates get put further and further back until i end up supposedly concieving the baby after i took the pg test!

today was a good day!

i am not going to liverpool hospital anymore though. i have seen a different person each time and they are always running really late for appointments. i rang my fave epu nurse at the local hospital today and she is going to see me for two weekly scans up to 20 weeks.

MiggleMoo · 24/08/2012 13:25

Thanks Pebs - yes I did get negative and bloods confirmed.

Really pleased for you Pebs, congratualtions! xx

lurcherlover · 24/08/2012 13:43

Excellent news for confused and pebs Smile

Miggle - could it have been a chemical pregnancy do you think? Or possibly a tiny bit of residual hormone - do you know your exact blood level of hcg last time it was tested?

MiggleMoo · 24/08/2012 13:48

Lurcher - maybe that is it. Really devastated - teaches me about not getting hopes up!!!
6 weeks ago hormones were 7... so know it cannot be that

lurcherlover · 24/08/2012 14:02

Did you use FMU today? CB digi aren't as sensitive as FR - so maybe your urine was too dilute? Have you tried a FR?

MiggleMoo · 24/08/2012 14:06

No I'm at work and just had the CB on me. I will try a FRER later, but feeling pretty low now... Sad

Do you think there is any chance it is ok?

MumTumWanted · 24/08/2012 14:32

Miggle defo try tomorrow morning with a fr. It will be the most accurate . Have everything crossed for you hun x

Rmc just called me and they have booked me in for scan. It's the 5 th sept. terrified now. I should be 6+5 by then. I thought it would be better a few days after the six week mark but now I wish I hadn't Hmm last 3 I never got as far as a heart beat so I'm struggling to see how this one would be any different Confused but today I am pregnant Smile -and I resolutely refuse to acknowledge the fact that my symptoms are very weak and intermittent- Sad

pebspop · 24/08/2012 14:55

mumtum i am totally free of symptoms. not even tired really. no sore boobs, sickness, bloating anything.

i don't think it's anything to worry about.

hope your scan goes well.

lurcherlover · 24/08/2012 15:19

mumtum I had no pregnancy symptoms at all with ds - a healthy pregnancy with a healthy baby at the end of it. I had lots of morning sickness with my last pregnancy - which ended in mc. I don't think symptoms have much to do with anything really...today you are pregnant.

miggle, do a FRER in the morning - that will be the best way to tell, I think. Really hoping it's a bfp for you.

MiggleMoo · 24/08/2012 15:39

Well it just got really odd. Came home did FRER which came up pregnant, with a significantly darker line than before.

Got the 2 digi tests out my bag to show husband and one was flashing - pregnent / not pregnant back and forth and the other, the display had gone altogether....

I feel happier at the FRER (should I?) but really confused by the digi tests - aren't results meant to stay static for 24hrs???

lurcherlover · 24/08/2012 15:45

Sounds like the flashing one is faulty! Tbh, everything I have read suggests digital tests can be dodgy. Why don't you go to your dr and get your blood hcg levels done a few days apart? That's the only way to know for sure.

wifey6 · 24/08/2012 15:45

Hi everyone...keeping bobbing in on phone. A massive Grin Grin to to the BFPs.
Big ((((Hugs)))) & Sad Sad for BFN & those in limbo
Can't name check as on iPhone--useless!
Can I ask about baby aspirin?? Does it help with ttc..lower mc risk etc?? Would really appreciate advice please if anyone has the time x
No BFP for me yet Sad

MiggleMoo · 24/08/2012 15:48

Thanks Lurcher - bloomin typical it is the bank holiday weekend now! Will have to wait till tuesday....

Hi Wifey - sorry don't know about aspirin but wishing you a BFP soon. x

pebspop · 24/08/2012 16:35

wifey i take aspirin for mc. lot's of people have sucess with it.

i take one 75mg per day from BFP.

my miscarriage book says you should only take it if you have been diagnosed with a blood clotting problem but lot's of people seem to self prescribe.

i also have blood thining injections which are prescribed. i haven't really been diagnosed with a bloos clotting disorder but my placenta was full of blood clots after my late miscarriage so i take everything i can to help that.

miggle those digis sound dodgy. i would rely on the frer. do you have any cheapies you can poas on to your hearts content?

wifey6 · 24/08/2012 16:46

Thank you both for the advice...well since it looks like a bfn this month too...I am off in search of the aspirin tomorrow! Much appreciated!

Midgetm · 24/08/2012 16:59

wifey I had had lots of tests which all came back negative and self medicated with DD1 with aspirin. Did the trick for me and i thought it may have been luck. Since then I have a clotting disorder diagnosed so take 150mg aspirin so in hindsight taking aspirin was the best thing i could have done. had also been prescribed heparin but was taken off this with the 150 dose. Some also thinks it is preventative for PE. First pregnancy I stopped taking aspirin in second trimester and had issues with my placenta and clots. This pregnancy Professor Regan told me to take it up to 34 weeks and then stop to reduce risk of PPH. According to my consultant I am now seeing, it can do no harm so I would say give it a try

wifey6 · 24/08/2012 17:39

Thank you midgetm...I really appreciate that. Can I just go to a pharmacy?

MumTumWanted · 24/08/2012 17:47

Wifey I was under the impression from my consultant that u don't take the aspirin until u get bfp. This is because thinning the blood MAY have an effect on the quality of womb lining initially . So I would say don't take it whilst ttc unless of course u know already u have blood issues and your gp has prescribed it..... But take from day 1 of bfp . There may of course be other ladies in here who know differently though Smile
