baby sorry to hear about your mc, I started ttc after a mc at 6 weeks straight away but this time after a loss at 20 weeks we decided to wait 5 months. Hope your recovering well and getting lots of tlc x

state agree with what others are saying, try not to worry. I know I know easier said than done!

jolly glad spotting has stopped

woody glad you've got your bfn, now it's not very often I say that!

Well 12 weeks here today. I'm starting to get anxious. It's 6 weeks till the anerversery of my cervix failing with Jacob and 8 weeks till the day he was born, and of course I'm going to be at the same gestation this time. Baby is due 3 days after Jacobs due date. Time for the stitch is looming too which I'm starting to worry about

pebspop · 03/08/2012 10:41

the anniversaries can be hard moonmin hope you get through it ok. i know it will be hard being at the same gestation but you will have a stitch this time. i don't know anything about stiches.

i try not to think about due dates in pg now. i haven't worked this current one out and will try to avoid finding out for as long as i can. i will never forget the due date/birth date from my 20 week mc. but the earlier ones i find easier to forget.

glad the spotting has stopped for you jolly and step away from the digis! they are a waste of money if nothing else!

time for a tiny bit of metalling from me as i am far too relaxed! i am not tired at all, that is usually the only symptom i have of being pg. i have been up until 11pm all week. in the past i have been in bed before 9pm.

i wish i was knackered!

backwardpossom · 03/08/2012 11:04

Crap, metalling overdrive. The receptionist (who is a friend, too) from docs phoned while I was in the shower and I just phoned back but she is dealing with someone at the moment. Now waiting for them to phone back. Shit shit shit what's wrong? :(

OP posts:
backwardpossom · 03/08/2012 11:07

Right she's phoned back. They want to do my bloods and urine again. She said it's not an urgent appointment, so not to worry but I can't help worrying. The blood test didn't go smoothly last time, so I'm hoping it's just that they didn't get a big enough sample... How am I going to get to Tuesday?

OP posts:
babylann · 03/08/2012 11:10

Thank you all for the message.

As for due dates I'm screwed, I would have been due on valentines day and there's no way to avoid that day! Dp and I have decided to light a candle for our baby that day and luckily we don't celebrate valentines day as our anniversary is two days later.

babylann · 03/08/2012 11:15

Try not to worry backwardpossum, there's a lot it could be - sometimes they just lose your sample or results or they get contaminated. I had to give three urine samples for the same thing in my first very healthy pregnancy and they came back clean eventually, after a lot of panic. Even if there is something wrong there's a lot of common problems that come up in urine and blood samples like iron deficiency or water infections.

Maybe get some rest pre emptively and put your feet up in case it is an infection but it's unlikely to be something serious if
They're keeping you waiting. X

Moominsarescary · 03/08/2012 11:22

backward maybe they lost the sample? That has happened to me twice. Ds3 had to have his Guthrie Test 3 times as they kept loosing it.

Thanks pebs I just need to stop thinking about dates. My dsis always says mine are useless any way.

Ds1 was due jan and came 3+ weeks late in feb, ds2 was due march and came 4+ weeks early in feb and ds3 was due may and came 8 weeks early in march

backwardpossom · 03/08/2012 11:31

It must be something like that. It's just the routine screening tests blood. I'm calmer now, I just panicked for a sec!

OP posts:
Moominsarescary · 03/08/2012 11:38

I bet it's gone for a walk or doesn't have enough in it. Is it the booking in bloods? I didn't realise till the other week that some sample holders have dates on and if its out of date they don't test it. Also if they put it in the wrong bottle it might not get tested as some bottles don't fit in the machine.

I found that out as the phlabotomist spent 10 mins tracking down the right bottle.

backwardpossom · 03/08/2012 11:43

Yes moomins, just the regular screening bloods at booking in. It could well be that the sample holder was out of date - one of the 3 she used didn't work for some reason, so she had to scrabble about for another one to replace it. I have calmed down a lot. Nothing I can do anyway. If the docs thought something was wrong, surely they'd have referred me to EPU straight away. Thanks for advice all x

StateofConfusion · 03/08/2012 11:48

Thanks for the reassurance everyone, I totally agree midge its like the little things are messing with us, but then I spose its best to get used to it if this baby is anything like my big two I will be messed with a lot :)

I just feel like I'm jynxing myself looking at clothes and dps been looking at stuff too, I always stop halfway through and think don't you'll only hurt more.

Keeping my fingers crossed pebs

All anniversaries are hard and I imagine harder for you than most moomin Jacobs a lovely name, I hope this pregnancy once the metallings over can bring you some comfort, my little brother is called Jacob, he was still born in 2010, still so beautiful.

backward I agree with the others that its possibly lost or similar x

Hi ladies - I need your help and advice - I can't phone the hospital again I think they think I'm mad Blush

I had the medical management Monday morning and everything appeared to have happened during that night - really heavy bleeding and loss of tissue all through the night - since then I have had bleeding just a little bit heavier than spotting but have only needed liners.

I went out for the first time today and am now cramping (mildly) and bleeding heavier again with some clotting TMI I know but I'm really worried - I am going on holiday next week :(.

Excuse my manners welcome to the new ladies Im sorry you have found yourself here but take it from me these are a great bunch and I don't know what I would have done without them (mc April at 6wks mmc July at 10wks)

Oh and I see we have new baby stories emerging - congratulations on the bfp's xxx

Almond301 · 03/08/2012 14:28

Hi everyone!

Can I join you? I have been lurking and can relate to a lot of your stories so I thought I would hop aboard!

I am just getting over my first MC (first pg too) at 6.5 weeks. We had managed to fluke getting pregnant after having the coil out but things went bad quickly. First they said I was miscarrying a twin, then it wasnt a twin but a clot and then the clot took the egg with it Sad. It was emotional turmoil starting with shock (pg!), then delight, then fear, then thinking it was ok then it all being over.

I ended up MC naturally but I am still bleeding (only lightly) after 8 days. Has anyone else had the same?

I am really apprehenisve and it 2 minds about TTC again. I think my heart just wants to get on with it and be pregnant again and try straight away without waiting for AF. My head on the other hand wants to give my body a chance to recover and wait for at least one AF. I also dont want to give my body any reason to fail again. What did you guys do?

Look forward to getting to know you all better and hopefully share some BFP's!!

Almond301 · 03/08/2012 14:31

Pixie - I have had something similar I think. Started miscarrying last Thursday. Mostly dark brown blood with small clots. Then on Sunday lots of pain/cramping and passed lots of bigger 'things' which I presumed to be all of it. Went back on the following Tuesday for a scan and they said that everything had cleared and my uterus lining was down to 3mm and the bleeding should stop in a couple of days but yesterday morning I had a lot more cramps and passed a bit more bigger 'things'. I just presumed that there was a bit left. The bleeding has now subsided to like the end of AF. Hopefully that is it now. Maybe see if it subsides in a day then call your GP?

pebspop · 03/08/2012 14:52

almond sorry you have had to join us.

i would advise you to get back on the horse if you feel up to it. i waited for my first af before ttc after my first mc. do a pg test to make sure it is negative before you ttc as the hormones can hang around for a while afterwards. nothing worse than getting a bfp and finding out it's leftover from mc.

one miscarriage is very common and is more than likely just bad luck. i think 1 in 4 women has a mc at some point. when i had my first mc i read through a old mc forum and clicked on the user names to see the more recent posts and the majority of them had babies on the second pg.

i have had three now but that is pretty rare so don't worry.

does anyone watch coronation st? it's my fave show but the number of mc's is getting beyond a joke now. there has been leanne, tracey, julie and izzy is the last couple of years. all on one street wtf!

JaffaSnaffle · 03/08/2012 15:04

pixie, it sounds a little bit like 'retained products', sorry about horrible name. I had them with both my MC. The cramping might be your cervix dilating a little bit. I saw my GP, and they put me on antibiotics for week. Don't worry, not a scary problem, just dragged it on longer... Do see you GP though and let them check you out before you go.

wilderumpus · 03/08/2012 17:06

hey all

haha yeah pebs I watch corrie - and when they did Julie's scan in the Big Bright Room and told her she had no baby like she was really thick it made me cry. even though is silly it hits buttons because I felt pretty thick too.

pixie I had medical management and they sent me home assuming I had passed everything but a couple of days later what I think was the placenta came along and then all cramping and bleeding stopped. It can take a while for it all to pass I think, so take care of yourself. I don't know anything about natural mc's all IK know is that if I had any questions at ALL my EPU wanted me to call them... maybe you should just to put your mind at rest before the weekend?

almond am sorry to hear your story too. Maybe don't think too much about what you 'want' to do, and sort of wait through your cycle and see how you feel at any time. Like, I didn't want to get back into making another baby straight away but actually when I was ov'ing really wanted to dtd and make another baby so we went for it but hadn't really planned it. When we didn't get pg that month though I was disappointed but sort of glad too for the extra distance between successive pg's... Some stuff is easier to go with the flow maybe. Am not much help, I apologise!

aw moomin x

hope everything is ok backward.

glad something cold got your wean's boots on tip-top form state Grin it really is early days still. Is so nuts how blase and comfortable i was about my baby's movements pre mc. next pg I am sure I will analyse everything.

sure everything is fine pebs, you'll probably have a hormone spurt soon enough and feel rough as rats :)

hello baby, hope you are ok, and welcome of course.

Polka2 · 03/08/2012 19:51

Hi ladies, hope youre doing ok. sorry I've been quiet but I have been lurking but trying not to get too MN obsessed and distracting myself from the 2ww! Wink

Sorry I'm not name checking one and all but wish the newbies huge luck and hope the emotional roller coaster treats you well, the support from these ladies is great.

pixie I hope you're feeling ok after a horrible week.

Lays out fish n chips...... Well it is Friday!Wink

Dorita75 · 03/08/2012 22:22

Congrats to all the BFPs and so sorry to those going thru the crap stuff. pixie I had ERPC and BFN about 30 days after, had all normal cycles since except 3rd one when I passed some kind of clot and had bad cramps, unfortunately I think it's 'normal' (annoying) that everyone's experiences are so varied, but at least we can all offer each other advice!

Am on 2ww AF due on Monday...Longest Weekend Ever...

Night everyone, apologies for lack of name checks, I lurk a lot but find it hard to keep track!

StateofConfusion · 03/08/2012 22:39

pixie that sounds similar to my natural mcs, but as pps said if your worried or just don't feel right contact epu/gp its better to be sure x

wilde I can't believe how relaxed I was in previous pregnancys either mc messes your mind up completely!

Discovered today wriggler quite likes being the car with music on, always wriggles and flips about then!

oo00PIXIE00oo · 04/08/2012 09:24

Thanks ladies the cramps are still there but the bleeding has settled down again - sorry to be a drama queen xx

Jollyb · 04/08/2012 11:44

Pixie - there are no drama queens on this thread! This is one place you can panic away without being judged. When are you off on your hols? If everything doesn't completely settle down it may be worth giving your EPU a ring for reassurance.

Had a lovely day yesterday with a very pregnant NCT friend and coped very well. She found out she was pregnant the day I told her about my first miscarriage so I've found her pregnancy quite hard to deal with.

Having a lovely morning shopping. DP has just phoned to ask me to pick him up some athlete's foot powder - who says romance is dead!

backwardpossom · 04/08/2012 13:35

Pixie be as dramatic as you like - check my freak out up the thread! Hope you're feeling ok x

Jolly glad you enjoyed shopping!

I feel much calmer today. DH let me have a long lie and got up with DS and has now taken him swimming so I can watch the athletics tidy the house...
