Just taken a call from my consultant. Poor MrGeek's SA results are bad. As in worse than the first time :( 5% total motility, 1% normal sperm. Decent count though (75 million).

I haven't broken the news to MrGeek yet, he is having an awful time in work. The cons wants to see me this Friday afternoon to progress my ICSI. As I thought, I am entitled to 2 NHS funded cycles, but the Priory don't do any form of DNA fragmentation tests. Given how advanced MrG's diabetes is I'm scared of 'wasting' our ICSIs on cycles that are doomed to fail. Little bit and here at the moment.

sparks for your minor meltdown, I'm glad your boss was supportive (and at least it was in a private office, not the middle of an open plan room like mine last week!!)

geek so sorry to hear that. Is there evidence he'll have fragmentation? If so why not exercise your right to choose where you're treated, and go elsewhere. Hard for you to tell dh, mrkeep feels awful, and also guilty if I am ever sad, as he thinks its all his fault.

Sweetie and maybe, both of your charts are looking fabulous - you've both broken away from your 'average' patterns, so maybe this week we can go for a 'three in a row' record rather than three on the same day (since we have already done that once - so old hat now!!!)

maybe the only evidence for fragmentation is from some research I picked up on the internet. It doesn't look like it's a heavily researched area, just anecdotally the success rates for diabetics are pretty low with ICSI. MrGeek has been taking his WellMan, Vit E and ermm some other horse pill religiously. I don't think we can afford accu, and MrGeek still drinks every night, although less heavily than before. But wasn't it you who linked to research that said alcohol didn't negatively affect men after all?

I'm really confused at the moment, and wondering whether last cycle's CP was all in my mind. Maybe it was an evap line on all goodness knows how many of the tests, they weren't strictly in the time limit but I've never known FRER to have pink, solid evap lines. Possibly it was just stress that brought AF on three days early?

Sorry for waffling. MrGeek is having a v bad time with work at the mo so haven't been able to bend his ear much about it at lunch.

Oh Geek I'm so sorry. It wasn't me with the link to alcohol, I want to say it was Beedle but not sure. I'm sure the stress of everything isn't helping MrG. But it does only take one. You aren't imagining it, you can, and will get diffed.

Sweetie I won't be confirming tomorrow. I don't honestly believe I will get to confirm, but if I do, it will be Friday or Saturday at the earliest

geek you poor thing, I'm pretty sure your CP was just that, if your faint lines have colour then it's not an evap line, evap lines are more like ghosts of lines (in my experience)

maybe my bloods were at lunch time, so I'm home now! In the garden, feeling a bit of a fraud for not going back to work, It's just the metalling now though isn't it? Waiting for the results which should be back by the end of next week!!

sparks when I had my day 21s done (on what turned out to not be the real day 21), they took 5 vials - it's basically a workup for everything including cholesterol and blood sugar. Did you have to fast?

Keep and Geek sorry to hear re sperm issues, but as Maybe said, both your DP's have sperm and some normal ones, so all it takes is one to get to the right place at the right time. I know it seems such a long shot, but from a recent documentary I saw, only the decent sperm make it to the fallopian tubes anyway. I hope I'm not being annoying, but I just want to try to cheer you both up and give you hope!

Sparks sounds like your boss is lovely and how nice of her to let you have the afternoon off to relax. As others have said, internal scans or 'fanjocam' do not hurt at all, you might just feel a bit uncomfortable with an ultrasound technician holding what is effectively a dildo covered in a condom up your foof! I've had loads and it's no trouble at all, plus it's nice to see what's going on in there. Very reassuring if things look normal and if not, it will be good to know what can be done to help.
