Oh sweetie in which case I def see why you want to wait. Is this Nhs funded? It seems crazy to me that they rush people into ivf without many investigations. Oh that evil birch. July will be it for you x

GenericDietCola · 02/07/2012 21:41

Sweetie I totally understand your reluctance to enter into something so invasive, especially when there is not proven reason you can't conceive naturally. I am brooking like mad for your ironic BFP before September. Having said that, I agree that it doesn't matter how the baby is made, it will still be your child, so if you do decide to go for IVF in the end there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Not sure if I'm putting that very clearly, but hopefully you know me well enough by now to know what I mean.

SecretSparkle · 02/07/2012 22:38

Fed up of waiting for ovulation so emptying a bottle of wine on a Monday night!!!

Morning brookers

gen Good luck for your scan today, I hope it will stop the worrying for a little while. And thankyou for your plea to the universe for my BFP, it was lovely

sweetie there's nothing wrong with delaying the IVF for a couple of months, I imagine it will be stressful enough with alll those drugs and everything, without wondering if it was the right thing to do. A couple of months will make no difference to your eggs. And of course if you relax over the next few months your bound to get pregnant HmmHmm (I am of course hoping for your ironic BFP but don't believe it will have anything to do with you being relaxed or not)

scarlett I can see you :o

geek sorry about your evil boss, I had my share of them in the past, but don't worry soon you'll be pregnant and can go on maternity leave :o

Right time to get ready for work.
Waves to all the other brookers including those that came to visit with their snuggly babies

boo brooking you feel better soon, though I'm worried there might be something seriously wrong... you're actually enjoying 50 Shades... ?

gen good luck for your scan, brooking your little sticky bean is all in the right place/shape/size. I decided not to apply for the job in the end, it came around the time I was told our only hope was ICSI and I figured that would be more than stressful enough over the next few months, without having a super-stressful job too. New Mgr isn't new to the dept, he's been there a fair old while, he's just new to managing my team (on a temporary interim basis thank f....). Snr mgmt seem to think the sun shines out of him so that's that! Hopefully a proper replacement will be hired in over the next couple of months. I also hadn't thought of jury service being my ticket to a BFP... and of course there is no way I can do JS when I am vomming every five minutes, is there?! Grin

olives Brooking for your little sticky bean also, I hope the time flies to your 12 week scan and you feel able to relax and enjoy your pregnancy a little (ms permitting, of course!). You are perfectly entitled to eat what you like - you are pregnant!! I am the other dieting brooker, but have kind of fallen off the wagon the last two weeks. WI tonight so we shall see just how naughty I have been!

maybe you're more than welcome to go in my place! Sorry to hear about your boss, there seems to be a bit of an epidemic of them at the moment.

sweetie lovely to see you around. It is so flipping hard, isn't it? well done on the open evening, but I completely understand your wanting to wait. I think sometimes the DPs/DHs don't realise what a big deal IVF is to us, that it is a medical procedure and that there is no guarantee of success at the end of it. MrGeek is exactly the same - he was really on cloud 9 when we were told we would be fast tracked to ICSI. I am sure two months won't cause horrific ageing to your eggs, in the grand scheme of things - there isn't a switch that causes them to go naff overnight! Brooking you get your BFP before you have to make a decision.

keep oooh sore bbs, that came and went and came back again? Diffed, my dear!

ooops time's gone by faster than I realised, best get MrGeek up, feed the cats and head off for round day 2 of new mgr :)

SecretSparkle · 03/07/2012 08:22

I have a headache Sad that bottle of wine was a baaaad idea!! Still first one in to work, but my computer wont turn on so I need to wait till 9 for the IT dudes to come in!!

Geeklette · 03/07/2012 09:03

sparks I work in IT - have you tried switching it off and on again? Grin I've always wanted to say that to somebody!!

Just waiting to tell Dink-Boss about my jury service - seems it is at the same time as my only other team member's annual leave! ROFL Grin Grin Grin

BeedleTheBard · 03/07/2012 09:18

geek our IT dept usually start by telling us to switch off and on again! Don't worry about your colleague being on holiday, I'm sure your super competent, highly-thought-of boss will be able to do your job with his eyes closed whilst you're on jury service :o

sparks hope your head feels better soon (I got a bit distracted then and nearly added kisses after that message Blush )

OP posts:
JenFraggle · 03/07/2012 09:19

Geek I try to say that whenever possible :o

SecretSparkle · 03/07/2012 09:24

I've tried switching it off and on again, tempted to now try throwing it out of the window!! Our IT are very unhelpful but may very well be the inspiration for the IT crowd!!!

ScarlettInSpace · 03/07/2012 09:28

sweetie just a quick note to say I felt exactly the same, so after working myself into a tizzwazz about it all I sent an email to the consultant [I found her secretary's email online] I was originally referred to [who I haven't acually seen yet] and outlined all of my concerns about the fact that I was being pushed into a huge medical undertaking [at which I only get 1 funded attempt] without any attempt at investigation or diagnosis, the complete lack of consultation to date, and also asked for some medical evidence to back up the idiot consultant who told me my eggs were all crap and I should consider donor eggs at 35!

I quoted this at them: In the NICE guidelines it says: People should have the opportunity to make informed decisions regarding their care and treatment via access to evidence-based information. We have been given no evidence-based information and no opportunity to discuss care & treatment options, and certainly no foundation to make any informed decisions.

I got a response in 2 hours, incredibly apologetic, and offering me an appt with the consultant next week, we have decided to keep the nurses appt on the 11th [the day after] and see how we feel after we've had a proper consultation.

I've also booked a counselling session there this Friday.

If you want to pm me your email address i can send you a copy of the full email i wrote them if it helps x

Geeklette · 03/07/2012 09:35

Whohoo!! Go scarlett Grin brooking like mad for you. Your treatment's been utterly appalling so well done you for standing up for yourself, it sounds like you have a proper shot at getting some real information and answers now.

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 03/07/2012 09:57

:o sparks make the most of it - once you get your BFP wine-based headaches will be a thing of the past!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 03/07/2012 10:30

Morning all!

I am in a super brooking mood today. All scans will be well, and that AF bitch shall not be showing her face ever again, no sir-ey no no.

Gen hope little bean is wriggling away

Scarlett you tell em. So pleased you are getting to see your consultant. I really hope you get some answers this time. I am so pleased you are lurking too. We miss you.

Sparks how is that head now? Nothing wrong with a medicinal bottle of vino Wink

Geek how did knob-jockey manager take the jury service news?

Hope you're ok Beedle

How you doing Fluff?

GreenOlives · 03/07/2012 10:31

Well done you Scarlet! I hope the meeting gives you the answers you need. Sweetie It may be worth you doing the same so that you know all avenues have been properly explored before IVF.
geek I knew there was another dieter! Good luck with weigh in tonight! Its karma that jury service clashes with colleagues hols, it will be a perfect opportunity for new boss to fall flat on his face prove how marvelous he is!
sparks I often want to throw my computer out of the window and thats without a hangover! Hope heads better soon!

CupcakesAndCocktails · 03/07/2012 11:15

Morning!

I'm brooking for Gen and MiniCola this morning.

Scarlett you go girl! Well done on getting an appointment with the consultant. Sweetie IVF is a massive commitment & I totally get why you want a bit more time.

Sparks I prescribe pop & bacon butties Grin

waves to Boo lurking in the corner

Well my tooth is so much better this morning. I got a peak on CBFM this morning on day 14, I've never ovulated this early before. I'm working twilight shifts so we managed to fit in a quick SWI this morning. Does anyone know when I should stop taking evening primrose?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 03/07/2012 11:22

Glad you are feeling better Cups. I think you are meant to stop the evening primrose after ov?

Geeklette · 03/07/2012 11:23

maybe lovely to see you looking so chipper my dear :) Your positivity is guaranteeing all of our BFPs, so thank you in advance!

Dink-Manager has now been given the news and has predictably gone into panic-mongering mode. I have dropped very strong hints that we would be better off getting extra resource before team mate's annual leave/my jury service, but was met with "can't you work overtime?"!! Naturally, I said no!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 03/07/2012 11:27

You are more than welcome Geek Smile

'Can't you work overtime' pfffft, can't he?! Wink

whimsicalname · 03/07/2012 12:31

Morning all.
The marmalade cupboard needs clearing out, so i have bunch of OPKs and HPTs up for grabs. Only internet cheapies, but seemed lucky enough! (eventually).

I also have a tube of Conceive Plus that we only used once if that's not too gross to pass on. It's not the applicator sort! That really would be gross.

pm me an address to send to, and let me know what you'd like. It can always be split up if there's lots of demand.

Hope everyone's alright today. I'm feeling rather fatigued and am considering what do do with the clothes I was going to sell until I found out the second hand shop isn't taking any more stuff. Boo.

Maghribia · 03/07/2012 13:02

Hi brookers, good to see you all on a shiny new thread :)

Well, I got my progesterone results back this morning, and it turned out I ovulated this month.

First time I've got that result in five years.

And I had unprotected sex last week, quite a few times, with an old friend....

Geeklette · 03/07/2012 13:12

whims ebay? I had a good response when I ebayed a load of MrGeek's and my old clothes. Congrats on what sounds like a very productive day, you are more than welcome to do my place any time you like!

cups I stop my EPO once I've confirmed ov. I only take it to improve my CM so don't see the need to continue after that, and I believe it's contraindicated in early pregnancy anyway.

It's my mum's birthday in a couple of weeks and I'm still trying to get the craft room shipshape so I can make her a card. Got another box unpacked last night, but we are really running out of room of where to put things. I can't believe we managed to get so much stuff into a two bed flat!

3DPO today and I've got wicked cramps. I don't remember them being this bad around ov time before. Fx it's just my body hurrying the future geekling along towards implantation Grin

JenFraggle · 03/07/2012 13:13
