Our new home, hope you all find me soon...

MiniH · 28/08/2012 09:42

pocket that's rubbish for you. Hopefully AF will put in an appearance soon. So ironic that when you need her she goes AWOL and when you are praying she stays away she puts in an early appearance!

ginger well done on your EC and your dh's premier league swimmers! Hope the pain has subsided as well. I remember it hurt more than I'd expected but it eased quite substantially after about 24-36 hours. Take it easy at work.

Hope everyone's bh was relaxing. Xx

MiniH · 28/08/2012 09:45

Oh and hope you have a good hangover scarlett Wink

gingernutdreams · 28/08/2012 13:26

Thanks Italian and MiniH, I must say I do feel very pleased and quite encouraged with it all this time. I feel much less sore today, if a bit tired still. The clinic has rung me this morning to confirm that 8 of my eggs were injected and all 8 fertilised! Woo Hoo!! Grin They are still thinking of proceeding to blasts, but will let me know more tomorrow, so fx!

How was everyone's extended weekend? Scarlett, did you enjoy your sis's visit?

BadgerFace · 28/08/2012 13:59

Wow Ginger that's all very positive - go embys go! Hope you're not feeling too bad and work is okay. And good work to your DH's swimmers!!

Pocket Fingers crossed AF arrives soon. I always found the waiting at each stage the most annoying part. I hope you're managing to distract yourself.

Waves to everyone else!

ScarlettInSpace · 28/08/2012 17:55

I had a great weekend and an absolutely crap hangover Grin

Now ready to take it all on, had my appraisal today and told my boss about IVF which has made it all very real!

Ginger am rooting for your embys whoop!

Pocket1 · 29/08/2012 20:31

Wow Ginger that's really great news. Go embies go. Let us know how things go this week.

Scarlett you must feel relieved that your boss knows. Well done for being so brave.

My moaning must have worked as AF arrived today. So i'm on the pill (to sync me with my donor) and back in the game!!

BiscuitBiscuit

MoJangled · 29/08/2012 22:42

Ginger that's incredible, whoop whoop whoop! Everything crossed for healthy bouncing embies now.

Pocket brilliant job on the AF summoning, please get onto the next stage quick, I really want us to be cycle buddies!

I got a surprise email today that we're starting tomorrow - wasn't expecting the donor to be geared up till mid Sept, but looks like I'm off...

(Would you say that this was a great time for DH to tell me how in debt he is and how badly his business is doing? Nope. Me neither.)

Waves to everyone else xx

Ginger yay - 8 out of 8 is fantastic.

Scarlett I felt the same way with work and also told the during appraisal - only time I can get both bosses in one room Grin . Experience was up there with parents finding out you are having sex though - embarrassing and cringe worthy!

Pocket so glad that AF has shown up and you are in the game.

mo really pleased you have your match and are ready to go. Boo for debts and poorly performing business though Sad

AFM had day one bloods and just got call to say need more blood tomorrow plus scan and teaching session but then probably start tomorrow with down reg as looks likely I am on follicular protocol. Feels very sudden and real again!! But exciting Smile

gingernutdreams · 30/08/2012 18:29

Aww, thanks Bager, Scarlett, Pocket, Mo and Italian for rooting for my little embies, it's working! I still have all 8, though one seems to have stopped developing and some are lagging behind, but I still have 5 front runners and so they are still hoping for blasts transfers on Sat. I am so chuffed and so hopeful!

How are you doing Badger? Any more scan to look forward to? How are you feeling? Any sickness?

Fab news about your fun weekend Scarlett and well done for telling your boss about the IVF, that can be a v scary part of it. Was he/she ok about it? Do you know when you are likely to be able to start?

Whoop whoop to Pocket for the arrival of AF and being able to start again, hope things progress nicely for you with your donor.

Whoop whoop also to Mo re starting tomorrow, how exciting! Sending lots of good vibes and baby dust your way. Not great timing of your DH telling you about debts, I hope things turn around for him, and you of course.

Hi Italian, how's things with you?

Hi to everyone else!

xx Smile Biscuit Biscuit

gingernutdreams · 30/08/2012 18:34

Oh mini, I didn't spot your post, Hello to you, and fab news that you are also starting tomorrow! Lots of good vibes and baby dust your way too! Smile

MoJangled · 30/08/2012 23:50

Ah that's sooooo much better, getting a little estrogen back into the system, I'm slowly morphing back into a human from the dangerous insomniac chocolate-obsessed emotional timebomb that is Downreg Mo.

That said, good luck Mini for tomorrow Grin

Ginger 5 is great, only a day and a bit to go now. How many will you transfer on Sat?

Pocket any news on your donor's dates?

Rather than murdering DH I have suggested we take a week to collect ideas and then have a meeting to swap options for digging ourselves out of the hole (while waving bye bye to another £5k for this cycle Hmm ). I can always murder him later...

Hope everyone else is OK, never known the thread so quiet, hope everyone is lapping up sunshine and cocktails somewhere lovely!

ScarlettInSpace · 31/08/2012 09:47

Morning all, well I started down reg this morning and it was a little bit of an anti-climax lol [not sure what I expected but hey ho!]

Mo up until last night I would?ve joined you on the OH murdering, but he redeemed himself at the eleventh hour following a bit of a freak out from me, and he did the first injection this morning [although I felt a little bit Amy & Blake sat in bed surrounded by needles while he fixed me a shot then administered it for me Grin ] I like the idea of going away and thinking about it then reconvening, unfortunately my OH would forget to think about anything if I didn't sit him down and make him, his head is full of work and turbo chargers...

Ginger very excited for you, that's great progress so far! FX for tomorrow!

Mini have you started today? When will you be booked in for your baseline scan? Mine is 17th September, I'm trying not to let myself think past that for now, each stage at a time.

Pocket what do your dates look like? It must be odd being on the pill even if it is just for short time?

My boss was fine about it all [I told him at the end of my appraisal too], and said he was pleased I told him, he did ask me to speak to the Occupational Nurse just so he was happy I had all the support I needed [which I have, she is lovely!], wished me luck and said hopefully the next conversation we?ll be having is how we plan for me going off to have a baby Grin

Some nice news that couldn?t have come on a better more portentous day really, my friend who was TTC for over 3 years gave birth early this morning, all healthy and happy Grin so I get newborn baby cuddles next week hopefully, may have to surreptitiously rub him on my tummy in case its infectious lol Wink

Has anyone got any advice diet wise, anything I should be eating as part of this whole thing? I might do a bit of Google research this afternoon if I get time who am I kidding, there's always time for Google research

gingernutdreams · 31/08/2012 10:29

Thanks Mo and Scarlett, not sure yet how many will be transferred, depends how many make it. They suggest one though if they have gone to blasts and because I am 36 due to high probablilty of twins if two were put back. Must admit, I would quite like twins, though I know this is more risky to both me and the babies, and I know it would be lots of hard work.. anyway, one lovely blast will do me.

Mo, glad you feel more human now, and are cracking on with the stims, and great plan re DH and his debt problems.

Scarlett, good to know you have now started the process, and that DH is up for administering the jabs for you. Smile Also, fab news that your boss took it so well. My boss was good about it too, but found it quite awkward and embarassing telling him... not sure why.

Yey to newborn cuddles! We all want some of them!! Grin

I hear eating a lot of protein helps.. and also I remember something about brazil nuts, but not sure at what stage, or why they help? Worth a try though, ey?

Hi to all!

BadgerFace · 31/08/2012 15:49

Wow, the thread has got all exciting again! Good to hear of all the progress. Good luck with the transfer tomorrow Ginger Let us know how many embies get put in!

Scarlett Well done on your DH for injecting - I think that's very brave of you, I found the idea of my DH doing mine scarier than myself (which was good as he was away on the first day!). Although tell your DH that that does not excuse him from the Hotel Chocolat purchasing which I believe should accompany all injection cycles.

Mo Sorry to hear your DH's business is not going well but it's been a quiet time with holidays and Olympics so hopefully September will pick up for him. Short notice on your start for this cycle! But exciting too, good luck!

And how are the lovely Pocket and Mini and Italian?

I've got my 20 week scan on Monday (eeek!) although it's not until 6.45pm so I have all day to worry about things. Bit nervous as I feel like this is the last major hurdle of finding out if everything looks okay... So I am still on the waiting train. I've not had any sickness Ginger so my guess is it's a boy but will see soon enough if that old wivestale holds true... And then I shall be telling work, none of whom know bar the two HR Partners. It will be interesting to see whether anyone noticed or not - personally I assumed that the lack of drinking would be a give away but we shall see...

Wishing you all a fabulous weekend!

MiniH · 31/08/2012 18:16

Badger - oh wow, 20 weeks already! I hope mini badger gives you another good wave and maybe a little twirl.

Scarlett we are official cycle buddies Smile I had my day 2 bloods, scan and teaching session today and then got the call at 11 am to start the down regging injection NOW. Was all a bit frantic as thought i'd have till the evening to take it so had to just get on with it and do the first one alone. Was fine in the end although I did manage to give myself a needle stick - seriously! I'm just glad its only me i'm sticking needles into Grin

In terms of foods, I've heard about pineapple juice and brazil nuts, but was planning on consulting my friend google and also my book on what to eat/not eat during pregnancy over the weekend on this (on the basis that if its safe to eat during pregnancy it must be safe for during cycle). And no, i've never been pregnant so this book is way premature but I figured I'd be too scared to buy it if I did get BFP in case I jinxed it so better to buy it now (there's logic in there somewhere if you just dig deep enough.....)

Happy Friday evening to everyone and Wine to all those who are still able to have one and Biscuit to everyone else xx

gingernutdreams · 01/09/2012 11:59

Hello all!

Well, I am back home after my embryo transfer, and have a lovely blast on board (a 2/2 apparently, which is good, but not top, but they say they rarely get 1/1). We have been given a pic of it too, so that'll be page 1 of the baby book if this is successful! Grin

Wow *Badger), 20 weeks ey? Didn't realise you were at that stage already! Best of luck for the scan, hope all goes well and you get a lovely pic, and the little one gives you a wave. Smile

Mini, good luck with the down regging, hope it doesn't make you feel to emotional/hormonal.

Hello to everyone else!

Biscuit
BadgerFace · 01/09/2012 16:50

Good to hear things went well Ginger - next step, poking boobs in public to see how sore they feel...! BiscuitBiscuit Grin I hope that your 2ww flies past. Am jealous of your picture of your emby too! Wish I had one of Mini-Badger!

ScarlettInSpace · 02/09/2012 10:26

Fx ginger brooking its a sticky one!

Badger I've told OH about the compulsory Hotel Chocolat Grin

mini how are you getting on with down reg?

pocket did you say what your dates are looking like now?

mo how's the stims going?

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend x

MiniH · 03/09/2012 09:32

ginger that's great news. Enjoy some daytime tv and hope the 2ww passes quickly.

gingernutdreams · 03/09/2012 10:29

Bager, the 2ww was actually only 12 days (well 9 now) but it really does feel like time slows right down doesn't it! I was well chuffed with the pic of the blast, am trying to use it to visualise what is inside and picture it burying in nice and deep! Grin Hope all goes well with your scan today!

Mini, unfortunately I am working, so no chance to enjoy daytime tv, I thought about taking some time off but someone else in my office was off this week so would have been tricky. It's not a stressful job though, and may take my mind off constant symptom spotting? Hmm

Scarlett how is the down regging going? How are you feeling?

How is everyone else doing?

Oh, I also forgot to say I also got 2 more blasts which we suitable for freezing so we have two back up frosties! Grin

Waves to all.

BadgerFace · 04/09/2012 08:45

Ginger fab news on having some in the freezer!

Just popping in to say that despite being convinced I was having a boy (based purely on the old wivestale of having no morning sickness), it turns out that Mini-Badger is team pink!

Scan went well which is a relief although she is measuring top 95% for head and abdomen size. The consultant said it was nothing to worry about, it's just probably that she's going to be a big baby - ouch...

gingernutdreams · 04/09/2012 10:25

Yey Badger, a lovely bouncing baby girl! Grin I know the thought of a big baby may make you wince, but they do say the bigge, the healthier so hopefully that should make you feel better... Hmm Glad all went well though.

I am having a very wobbly, down day today. Convinced myself there is nothing inside and it hasn't worked again... trying to buck myself up by saying it aint over till it's over, and there is no way of knowing, especially this early, but finding it difficult to keep my chin up.. Sad

ScarlettInSpace · 04/09/2012 11:09

ginger I know it's easy for me to say but chin up love! positive mental attitiude! Of course there is something in there and its currently making itself nice and snug and settling in for the winter Wink

ScarlettInSpace · 04/09/2012 11:16

badger great news on a girl, when I was younger [and more naive] I always thought I'd prefer a son but I have so much fun with my OH's daughter with clothes and hair and make up and girly stuff - she's made my life pink and sparkly and I love it Grin

mini how are you getting on with down reg? I have been sooooooo floppy for the last few days, I could drop asleep at any time of day. I've also been feeling really sick in the mornings [how ironic, IVF Morning Sickness] and last night I had the worst night in years - hot, sweaty, flippyfloppy retsless, and the nightmares!! Although I've always had an umm active imagination so vivid nightmares arent uncommom for me...
