Hello all, think I'm in here, probably testing around 4th of July. We are ttc number 2, having sadly had a miscarriage at 9 weeks in May. DS is 3 at the end of July. Fingers crossed for everyone...

fatasbutter · 16/06/2012 10:05

Hi possum - sorry you have to be here too Sad

Fx for you as well - I will be testing same day as you! Smile

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 16/06/2012 10:53

Hi possom so sorry to hear about the MC. Will be keeping my fx for the 4th.

backwardpossom · 16/06/2012 11:33

Thanks guys, it's ok really. It wasn't meant to be, the next one will be the one, I'm sure :) x

tedmundo · 16/06/2012 12:17

backward .. I say the exact same to myself. Something wasn't quite right and that is why he did not stick. but the next one will be super sticky.

fatasbutter · 16/06/2012 12:35

I feel the same too: 'it wasn't meant to be' and don't feel nearly as awful about it as before, but I can't help worrying constantly about it happening again, even though it is unlikely to!
I feel irrationally jealous of people who haven't had any problems with any of their pregnancies, which isn't exactly helpful though!
Fx crossed for super sticky beans this time x

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 16/06/2012 13:10

I know what you mean fatas.

I have had a bit of an upset but nothing major. Feeling really guilty for reacting so badly when I know so many people with really difficult fertility problems. Think ttc makes you a bit crazy.

fatasbutter · 16/06/2012 13:30

Couldn't agree more! I am a lunatic...

More than once I have thought of giving up completely to avoid further stress, but know that's not really what we want to do!

Plus, now it has been about 3 months since it happened, feel a bit as though I can't use it as an excuse for being grumpy/sad etc any more as I should be 'getting on with things' but I wouldn't be half as bonkers about TTC if it hadn't happened ( not to mention that I would be 6 months pregnant by now!). But things could of course be much worse!

tiddleypompom · 16/06/2012 17:12

Really sad to hear of those who have mc - nobody tells you quite how common it actually is do they? Sending my support and any hand holding needed through these next few weeks - it will be your turn soon! :)

Feeling shattered after a rubbish week - DS teething and sleeping v badly plus DH has been ill (in hospital overnight Monday). DS is a frustrated toddler-to-be at the moment and it's hard work when you're tired. This crappy weather isn't helping my mood!

A stream of bfps will cheer me up do lets get shagging and start the run of 'OMG's!!

By the way, do peeps leave testing till missed period, or are we too impatient for that?

onemoreforgoodmeasure · 16/06/2012 17:33

Hey, just checking in. Am also a Sheldon/BBT fan, I like all the characters actually, they each have a sweet "aw" ide to them!

And football and ttc is great as OH doesn't have anything else in his diary! CD 8 here, was thinking today... could these possibly be the last few days I'm NOT pregnant, NOT a mother to anyone???

I try to wait to poas until a missed period but they can range by almost a week, and I have a store of cheapies so I pretty much poas whenever I can these days. Someday I will paten (SP?) a loo that has in built sticks for ov and pg!

winkle2 · 16/06/2012 17:45

I'm also on cd8 and ill :( Spent all day lying on the sofa. Thank god it's not during fertile week!

Hi fatasbutter, god your post sounds just like I feel, I have know what it's like to want a dc without one for a long time, took almost 2 yrs to concieve dd, then fell pg as soon as I could straight after, we didn't use contraception as it'd taken so long first time and knew we wanted more, felt like fate and pay off for how long I'd waited first time only to mc, I feel like I've never been so desperate to get another bfp totally irrational as I wasn't anywhere ne'er as bad before ( think part of it is not wanting to have af and feel the pain again as a reminder of what's happened and rather just get back the ideal I had already created in my head!
Then I feel guilty that some people arnt lucky enough to have one dc but for some reason the want for another feels as all incompasing as the want for the first one even though I know how lucky I am!

fatasbutter · 16/06/2012 19:18

Yes I know what you mean! It is a bit of an obsession! I'm not too bad at the minute but the 2ww last month turned me into a mad woman! I'm trying to be a little bit laid back this time but only cd11 so far, so we haven't quite entered the 2ww!

This is my 2nd month of TTC since the dreaded mmc - it really helps to know there are others out there in the same frame of mind - I can't speak to my friends about it cos my closest ones all are either pregnant (same due date as I would have been) or have just popped out their 2nd!

onemoreforgoodmeasure · 16/06/2012 19:20

Ooh, winkle2, hope you get better soon. How long are your cycles normally? I'll be expecting to ovulate on cd 12/13. Unfortunately I have a commitment I can't get out of on cd 13 so am hoping there will be time to dtd!

winkle2 · 16/06/2012 19:22

I OV later around cd16.

I'm using my CBFM this month and it's saying low so I'm ok to be ill at the mo!

kittykatsforever · 16/06/2012 19:27

It's this 2 ww that's turned me into a raving looney!!!
Didn't have one first time as thought implantation bleed was period and after a year you stop thinking about it, second time not planed so again just tested one day when I thought hmmm really should have had af by now, this is the first and i an certifiable insane
Can't speak to my friends really as no one knew I was pg again and my mum and sis are of the " it's one of those things, bad but nothing you can do about it" so here I am!!
Saying that if it doesn't happen this month I think i will be less mad next month crosses fingers and hopes

kittykatsforever · 16/06/2012 19:28

Lol at winkles ok to be ill!

FloweryBoots · 16/06/2012 19:45

Watching a bit of bbt! Guilty pleasure while DH is away.

Kittykats - I totally get the longing for a second. I am just as overwhelemed by a complete longing for a baby this time even though I've got one already (well, toddler now). There is every reason to think ourselves fortunate for having been blessed with one, but no reason to feel guilty for wanting another!

Man I'm fed up of this weather. Stuck inside all day with a wheezy toddler who wanted to run around outside!

tiddleypompom · 17/06/2012 05:54

It seems 5am is the new 7am in this family - thanks DS. Too early even for cbeebies!! Bleugh.

Was so tempted to do a test this morning - liked the idea of putting on dh's fathers day breakfast tray :o but tbh I think I must be kidding myself this month. It's only cos it's the first month I have actually had a cycle (was prev bf) & we've dtd vaguely near to ov. Still, joining this thread is a big old sign that I wouldn't be unhappy if I was preg again - so planning to have that chat with DH once we're in out new house next month.

Could still make the July date, though would be sneaking in at the end!

I absolutely agree about the longing for a second child. I think it has something to do with providing a sibling for DS, and also proving no 1 wasn't a fluke! Of course it is also because it is the most amazing, rewarding privilege ever!

Get better soon winkles - you need your energy :o

kittykatsforever · 17/06/2012 06:42

Ha ha tiddley, so had the same idea as you with a test for fathers day but as only dpo6 would be unlikely to be a yes lol
6:30 is the new 7:30 here! But a great testament to having kids that you can rave about it at that time in the morning! Totally agree though it is the best job in the world
P.s I wouldn't count this month out, I got pg before I got my af after breast feeding, cut down then stoped, only dtd 2 times that month- no knoledge of timings at all for either and low and behold! Sadly that wasn't ment to be but hoping the super fertility continues for me!
When will you do your test? X

tiddleypompom · 17/06/2012 08:21

Poas planned for tomorrow morning. Nowt else to do on a Monday eh?!
Will be around 10 dpo so poss too early but what the hell.

How about you kitty? Let's try and get this thread moving towards 100% positive :o

tiddleypompom · 17/06/2012 08:22

Btw what is this about super fertility?? x

FloweryBoots · 17/06/2012 08:42

Is there some sort of super fertility when stopping BF, or just a return of something more approaching normality?! DS dropped his morning feed himself a couple of months ago and two weeks ago I instigated the dropping of the bed time feed. It's the first time I've instigated getting rid of a feed (appart from the endless ones in the night he used to enjoy!) but seems to be going well. Am pleased I've not felt sad about finishing bfing, but then he is 22 months so I've done it for a while, and past my goal of 18 months. And I really want a break between him and the next one. Of course also hoping it will increase chances of getting pg too. AF returned at about 10 months but cycles still vary by towards a week which the didn't before.

kittykatsforever · 17/06/2012 10:18

Hi flowery, my you have done well to keep going so long!! I breasted exclusively with food from just over 4 months till 6 months then started cutting down and stoped completely at 8 months when the little sprog developed teeth!!
By this time though dd was only having 3/4 milk feeds a day and she stoped bf at night from 10wks! Sorry not ment for jeleousy purposes I used a book which is the neerest thing to the bible in my opinion!
Anyway you are surposed to be very fertile straight after having one ( think for the next few years) defo applied to me given the 1yr + first time then after a mc you are surposed to be even more fertile as your body had already geared up for it - for the next cycle and I think the one after, it may be an old wives tale but that's not what I'm telling myself
