Due to the luck thread starters have, I thought I'd mark a place for the second thread as we are so chatty!

Here's to BFPs for us all :-)

NicolaHazel · 27/06/2012 06:35

Congrats Pop!! Well done :-)

And we have regular sex all month, Newbie, so should catch the egg whatever. Maybe it just didn't happen for some other reason :-/

And thanks, Echo.

pop :o:o:o:o:o

That's wonderful news. So pleased for you.

Just a general question. Opks POAS morning or evening?
Right am off to Amazon to order some EPO.

Newbie2 · 27/06/2012 07:50

Echo the cb OV sticks first thing in the morning. Other brands say afternoon (and not first thing am) this was a challenge for me as you can't drink for 3-4 hrs. I found myself not drinking between 4-7 which became a real hassle hence why I switched to cblue.

MissMedusa · 27/06/2012 08:07

Congratulations popinda that's wonderful news!

LisaC2611 · 27/06/2012 08:10

Congratulation pop how exciting for you Smile

Fx for loads more bfp's soon.

Has anyone seen a v faint second line on ov sticks before? Not sure if it's me seeing what I want to see or whether it could actually be a line but not strong enough to be ov'ing? My period log says I should be ov'ing tomorrow but no lh surge on ov sticks yet

Christelle2207 · 27/06/2012 08:26

Pop that's fab news well done.

Lisa I often get a faint line but there is always some lh in your urine, you need it to be almost as strong as the control line to mean anything. Try again a few hours later or the following day - definitely possible to miss the surge completely as it could go up then down again in 24 h. Don't believe your app- you will ov when your body wants to. For me it is cd15- cd17 - once you see a pattern (after 2-3 months) you will get it. If your periods are regular you are likely to have it approx the same time each month but if not it will be approx the same time before your next period. Thus, I always get a result 11 days before my next period. So once I know when I ov, I know when it's time for either period of hpt.

Christelle2207 · 27/06/2012 08:28

Btw During the recent hot weather I got a very faint line every day for a week before the surge. Cause I was a bit dehydrated I think.

Newbie2 · 27/06/2012 09:21

Lisa my period app said I should OV 4 days before I actually did so yes like Christelle says don't always believe the predictor calendars. I also got faint lines for two weeks. OV sticks are different from Preg sticks. If you get a faint line on a OV stick it means negative and a faint line on a preg test means 'you might be' hence why some people are told to test again. After seeing faint lines for two weeks I got frustrated and ordered clear blue sticks. A week later I got a smiley face and my body deffinately showed cramping signs of ovulation this time! Hope that helps!

DulcetMoans · 27/06/2012 09:23

Argh! pop that's amazing!! I knew you wouldn't resist the CB one! haha! So happy for you, bet it's good to know for sure and not think you are going symptom spotting crazy!

I'm with echo now - someone link me up to these sticks and EPO. I am so keen to get this done in July now. DP doesn't want a summer baby (for some stupid reason!) so making us take a break between August and December. I am not happy! Angry

Newbie2 · 27/06/2012 09:35

Dulcet it is all on amazon :) A winter baby? Are you sure that his only reason? Spring babies are perfect for the school year...not at the start and not at the end :)

Newbie2 · 27/06/2012 09:37

I am not enjoying this 2WW :( I have no symptoms at all (I know it's too early but still). Think I will buy cb preg sticks to cheer myself up Grin

purplefairies · 27/06/2012 09:48

Wow, congrats to Popinda - fabulous news. Seems that every time I get a chance to log back into this thread there's another BFP. Long may it continue.

I'm approaching what I think is OV (based on last cycle and because of twinges on my right side) but coming down with thrush again. So frustrating as it is so uncomfortable and doesn't really make me feel like DTD. The most effective thing I've taken in the past has been an oral drug that is not recommended while TTC :( I'm hopeless with the Canesten pessary - wish there was another way to treat thrush...any ideas?

Newbie2 · 27/06/2012 10:05

Purple I know this sounds awful but Priobitic works a treat for any slight discomfort down there! It's a real relief and strangely it's not as messy as you think. Use a cotton bud to apply. Should take 2-3 days to clear up but you will see results fast. If you don't then go to GP.

Newbie2 · 27/06/2012 10:06

Obviously I mean Priobotic yoghurt

DulcetMoans · 27/06/2012 10:07

That is definately the reason newbie. Summer babies are late in the academic year, read a story somewhere about them being disadvantaged. I don't think it's that important but then I wouldn't cos i'm an August baby! We'll see how much he sticks to that if we get to August with no luck!

Did someone mention natural yoghurt for thrush a while ago? Can't say i've tried but sounds soothing!!

Newbie2 · 27/06/2012 10:07

Or you could ask pharmacy/boots for advice because I've heard some say you can use a cream

Newbie2 · 27/06/2012 10:08

Dulcet yeah it was me. Works like a treat :)

purplefairies · 27/06/2012 10:09

Thanks for the advice. I'll get some yoghurt after work - anything is worth a try!!!

LisaC2611 · 27/06/2012 10:39

Thanks for the advice Christelle and Newbie, I did wonder whether it was just me seeing it as I said, but I didn't think it meant anything. I usually have cramps when I think I'm ov'ing but I don't usually make a note of them. It seems to be later in the cycle than they say it should be. (This is my first month of using OV sticks so don't even know if I do ov!)

I'm usually pretty regular so I do have a rough idea when i'm ov'ing due to the cramps but I always thought it was later in my cycle than the 14 days everyone says you should ov at.

Anyway, due to the fact I thought I saw the line (even though I knew it was negative), the fact that tomorrow is my predicted ov date and just for the hell of it, I managed to convince DH to DTD last night so that should have me stored for a little while Grin

Will just have to convince him that he wants to do it again on Friday and over the weekend. GrinGrin

Christelle2207 · 27/06/2012 11:23

dtd anyway is a good idea but the 14 day thing is just an average- cramps should be your cue to dtd again

BB01 · 27/06/2012 12:18

Wow Popinda, many many congrats!!!

Just got AF yesterday after first (half) month of TTC. Not a big shock but couldn't help hoping I'd be one of the lucky ones who get PG immediately!!
