Driving myself insane

I am desperate to conceive DC2. It took 2 years to get pregnant with DS and we have been trying for DC2 for 16 months. It's CD26 and I have a bloody discharge. I'm trying to convince myself it's an implantation bleed and not AF as I have let myself get carried away with early pregnancy symptoms - swollen boobs etc.
I probably need a reality check - but I was really hoping this month.....

Hey Mary it's such a tough journey. Just wanted to send you a hug and fx that you get that BFP v soon xWink

fatasbutter · 06/06/2012 18:57

Oh no mary don't think u r boring anyone! I am also frustrated trying to have a dc2 - but had a mc in march and just started to try again this last month - so depressed when AF arrived early then stopped and then started again! Bloody hormones Angry

It's just too stressful! But we have to keep our fx and keep going don't we?

MaryQueenOfSpots · 06/06/2012 19:00

Thanks pocket, you have done a good deed answering my self indulgent musings Smile

I'm just worried, being 39 and all that, I've totally missed the bus.

GP won't refer us to a fertility clinic until we've done 3 months of charting. Couldn't get the right thermometer today, apparently mercury ones not sold any moreConfused

Oh AF (aunt flo) just turn up or fuck off, one or the other so I can regain some sanity Grin

Mary I am the same had some pink discharge today, really want af if she's visiting! You want an electronic thermometer and they are about £2-3 on amazon/eBay

MaryQueenOfSpots · 06/06/2012 22:23

Thanks for the tip Christelle. Keeping fingers crossed for you as well. Will look out for you and butter on the boards Smile

AttilaTheMeerkat · 07/06/2012 07:27

"GP won't refer us to a fertility clinic until we've done 3 months of charting"

Your GP is fobbing you off and badly so, would change GP practice now. You do not need to do three months of charting before referral and you need to see someone else more helpful than this person. (Also many gynaes do not take any real notice of such charts anyway because they are so unreliable).

If it took two years to become pregnant with your first child it is likely that there is a fertility problem with either one or equally both of you. That problem has not gone away. A bloody discharge as well needs proper investigation.

I would insist to the new GP practice that you are referred to a gynae asap for further evaluation.

MaryQueenOfSpots · 07/06/2012 09:57

Hi, HKDMN, I'm glad of the company Smile

Attila - blimey, I thought it was standard practise what the GP is doing? Seems not then? Will book another appointmentAngry

Hi Mary, I'm in same boat as you, had spotting on and off since Monday but no proper AF. Was due yesterday and am slowly driving myself mad. Just want it to come on properly so I can move on to another month of trying . . .

Christelle2207 · 07/06/2012 12:48

veggie and mary i feel your pain! this has happened a couple of times to me before both times i eventually got af (sorry) though once so late i think it may have been a cp. trying not to be too hopeful but fx this is different for all of us
i also feel v sick but i think its the anxiety.

Christelle2207 · 07/06/2012 12:50

ps everyone going thru this pls update when either af or bfp!

fatasbutter · 07/06/2012 14:48

Hi Christelle - I have had 4 days of spotting and a day of nothing and now full on AF 2 days late! Grrr! Think it may be fallout from mmc in march, but also stress seems to be a bit of a factor in making me late too...

I don't know whether to count cd 1 as first day of spotting - which would make me cd 6 now- or whether to count from yesterday as AF proper started then! Is a bit confusing...

FreeButtonBee · 07/06/2012 17:39

If you want something to show the GP then the NICE guidelines specifically say that charting is not recommended. guidance.nice.org.uk/CG11

philbee · 07/06/2012 18:08

Agree with Attila. if you're over 35 they should give you standard tests after six months trying, then refer you to specialist clinic if they come back abnormal. We had the tests but all normal so will give it another six months or so before going back. NHS discourages charting, says most successful route is to have sex regularly throughout cycle.

Christelle2207 · 07/06/2012 18:29

Fat as- oh no what a shame!
I count cd1 as the first proper day rather than first spotting day. This means for me that cd1 is always 11 days after ovulation. Spotting usually doesn't happen at all but when it does is a few days before that but still cd1 is 11dpo.

MaryQueenOfSpots · 07/06/2012 18:51

Butter - really sorry Sad. It's such a rollercoaster, isn't it?

I hate rollercoasters.

I'm still in limbo land, but have that familiar dragging feeling which prob means AF is in her way.

Thanks for the links re: NICE guidance - I feel a bit Confused, the GP has been so great about other stuff, it has surprised me.

AF arrived, knew it would really. Bah!
At least I know for sure now and can bounce back ready for next cycle :)

fatasbutter · 07/06/2012 21:19

Oh Mary I'm sorry too - the only thing worse than the agony of the 2 week wait is the bfn/AF feeling Sad

I hate rollercoasters too Angry

Sorry veggie to hear the evil witch got you too

So... I am currently CD2 and shall be hopefully testing again on 4th July... Here we go again!!

fatasbutter · 07/06/2012 21:21

Forgot to say thanks christelle, that's what I thought too x

Christelle2207 · 07/06/2012 23:14

Sorry veggie. At least you have a new cycle now. I'm still in limbo, with more bloody discharge today.

purplecorduroy · 08/06/2012 08:30

Hi fatasbutter! I'm in the same position as you - now CD3 and hopefully testing on 4th July. As you said - here we go again!
