Fantastic news lime so happy for you! Cycle day 10 here so time to with the OPKs yet again

Wiggy29 · 06/06/2012 12:03

Purple- I don't know when I ovulated in past cycles as never got a positive with normal opk. How many days past ov do you think it would be reasonable to expect af/test?

Treats- isn't it funny the lengths we go to? If I'm not pregnant then next cycle I'm sticking my legs/ bum on the air after we dtd around ov time!

Purpledragon · 06/06/2012 12:15

A women's LP can be from 10 to 16 days long. It should be more or less the same from one cycle to the next in the same women. There can be a little variation - mine is normally 12 days with one day of variation each side. (I temp but don't use OPKs)

Personally I wait till 13 dpo to see if my period shows up. I don't test before. As I understand 10 dpo is the earliest you could expect to see a positive, but 12 dpo is likely to give a more reliable result.

Wiggy29 · 06/06/2012 12:25

Purple- day 13 is 16th so I'll wait until then, thanks for explaining that. I'll have a better idea next cycle of lp as I know for sure within 1 day when I ovulated this month.

Purpledragon · 06/06/2012 12:30

No problem wiggy, you are right, if you don't get lucky this month, knowing your LP will be useful onwards. Try to keep busy till then, we will be here to support you when the time comes to test.

Squirrel77 · 06/06/2012 13:04

Yay Lime!! Fantastic news!

Glad to hear everyone else seems to have survived the weekend.

Now, my chart is looking rather odd, anyone care for a squizz?

PS I think I gave the wrong impression of my Radio 4 proclivities: upon hearing that I listen Radio 4 all the time, my aunt told me I was too young and should listen to Radio 1 instead!

Crazytictac · 06/06/2012 13:57

silent I'd make a rubbish doctor as I have tried checking out my cp but don't have a scooby do as to what I'm feeling even with the idiots guide to it feeling like the tip of your nose etc. Not.A.Clue. Quite impressed that you were able to get a DC from checking!

wiggy your DH sounds a sweetheart! Must be difficult with your hospital apt hanging over you, I would imagine it really adds to the pressure of all the TTC lark. I hope you feel better for having talked about it [squeezes hand]. Did I read that you really like your CBFM? Im still getting low readings on my fertility monitor whereas I was getting highs by now my previous 2 cycles. ( I ended up with 10 days plus of highs) so I'm hoping that the monitor is adjusting to me now and that I'm not in for a huge long cycle.

treats well done on seizing the moment! Wink. You doing anything interesting on your evenings out?

Hello to everyone else. Yay again limeleaf!

Purpledragon · 06/06/2012 14:25

squirrel I spied your chart. Odd how? Because of the falling temp over last few days?

Squirrel77 · 06/06/2012 14:42

Thanks for taking a look Purple!

Yep that's what I mean. It's never gradually descended like that before. Usually it drops on the first or second day of AF. Also I had spotting today, which I have only had once before post-ovulation, hmmm.

Purpledragon · 06/06/2012 14:53

I think i know what you are getting at Squirrel. I spotted last month, very briefly, old blood at 6dpo (first time ever that i know of) and was excited about implantation bleeding. I wasn't pg though. I think I might stop charting post ov because for me it just feeds obsession. I think an implantation dip shouldn't be gradual but that doesn't mean it's bad news either. Did you see Pipbin's chart last month? The perfect pg chart. Then I have seen ones that are all over the place that turned out to be pg. Yes, indeed, very nosey on the old charts. Sorry not much help, I know.

Squirrel77 · 06/06/2012 15:00

Thanks. I don't think its an implantation dip - I'm worried at AF may be coming freakishly early! Eeek. I may fuel my obsession by stalking more charts on FF this afternoon. I know what you mean about it getting a bit obsessive - I was thinking of not taking my temp this morning, but then couldn't resist! arrgh!

Right, enough of me and my chart. How is everyone else today?

Purpledragon · 06/06/2012 15:07

No Squirrel I doubt it. What is your normal LP? There shouldn't be much change. Say it's a freak and keep stalking it obsessively and report back hi there to all the sane non-charters out there.

Wiggy29 · 06/06/2012 16:00

Purple- your support means a lot. I feel like I can be honest about feelings on here& not feel crazy/ judged.

Crazy- yes, I'm loving my cbfm. What day are you on? I don't think I got two bars until about day 17. Yes,dp is a total sweetheart, feel very lucky that he is happy to dtd on demand&listen to all my woes.he feels line I should talk about it more rather than keeping feelings in&he's probably right.

I'm having another crappy day today. Had to go& buy clothes for an expectant friend&felt really down. I realised that part of my sadness is that the past few years have been s bit of a roller coaster& this past 12 months things had been plodding along happily. Now I'm aware that unless I fall pregnant before September the next few months (or even years) could be a mixture of ttc& hoping to buy more time to ttc with each hospital appointment. I haven't even really had a chance (&not sure I'm ready) to think about impact on my own health (mental&physical) that a hysterectomy at age 30 would have. Sorry, just feel like everyone around me is pregnant&haye that I'm turning into that person who notices every pregnant woman/ baby with envy& spends hours & hours just hoping it'll happen for us.

Sorry again, some days I convince myself that it'll be ok: that I have a fab dp&ds already and should count my blessings but days like today I feel like I could just curl up, watch a trashy film like 'Beaches' or 'Steel Magnolias' and have a good cry!

Hope every one else is feeling more positive&sorry to bring down the mood.

Dillydollydaydream · 06/06/2012 17:03

Wiggy
I dont have any tests in the house to try and avoid poas too early. Think I'm going to try and wait til AF is late before giving into temptation. Not sure if I'll last but I can try!

Wiggy29 · 06/06/2012 17:12

Good thinking Dilly, my first cycle I tested really early& wait for af seemed ages&cycle after seemed so much longer.

I have decided that after meal with in laws tonight I'm going to come home, curl up in pjs& watch some melodramatic films. Any ideas? I'm thinking of something like steel magnolias/ beaches but would be nice to have a tear jerker I haven't seen before. I think after a night of wallowing I may feel better.

Dillydollydaydream · 06/06/2012 20:19

Ooh pearl harbour, cast away, Armageddon.
Make sure you have lots of snacks to nibble :)

LimeLeafLizard · 06/06/2012 21:08

Thanks everyone for the congratulations! It still hasn?t sunk in really.

Wiggy, Sorry to hear you have been feeling so down. I hope it helps to write it down here. Facing a possible hysterectomy must be quite overwhelming at times. The resulting pressure to conceive quickly adds stress. I think you have every right to feel a bit sorry for yourself. Have you considered getting some counselling? I saw a brilliant Counsellor during a previous pregnancy; she helped lots of couples with their fertility issues too. It was on the NHS and helped a great deal. Something to think about, at any rate. Big Hug to you.

You asked if I had a hunch that I might get a BFP this cycle... and the answer is not really. Looking back, we DTD a bit more, and earlier, than in previous months, but being away for 5 days just before AF was due (big family party with in laws) distracted me from symptom spotting.

The only 'symptom' is occasional twinges - pin sticking pains and then a tugging sensation, as if someone is sewing in my uterus. The last couple of days I have been feeling very bloated - initially I put this down to eating too much party food, but now I remember feeling like this before.

Silent I am impressed by your CP charting! The only time I have tried such a thing is when I was past my due date last time, and hoping to avoid induction, but luckily I couldn?t get anywhere close due to my size!

Squirrel I can?t access your chart on this machine but next time I am on the other one I will take a look. Hope it is good news for you.

EmpireBiscuit · 06/06/2012 21:09

LimeLeafLizard · 06/06/2012 21:36

Thanks Kitty! What is your job, then? (We had a long jobs discussion on the last thread.)

Not sure what happened to Flightty, but if she is reading this, come back, we miss you... Hope all is going well for you too.

EmpireBiscuit · 06/06/2012 21:38

Valentine baby - give that reindeer a carrot! Congratulations x

hellokittydrivesmenuts · 06/06/2012 21:42

lime- maybe you could hold out to the 14th eeeeeek a valentines baby!!!!
I am a dental nurse and have been for past 16 years lol i aimed to be a midwife but needed a course to enter on and this was equivelant to the 3 A levels required and really did not enjoy school so meant to qualify and use it but instead i loved my job and still do! Although DD is not toimpressed with a mummy in this line of work :-) x

Crazytictac · 06/06/2012 22:54

lime that sounds a great date! How old are your boys if you don't mind me asking?

wiggy I'm on day 13 today so expect to ovulate next week hopefully. Hope you had a good dinner out and selected a suitable film to let it all out. Not quite the same, but my mum had a hysterectomy in her mid thirties the impact on her health has been fine. I know it's different circumstances for you but just wanted to offer some reassurance on the physical side of things.

To any charters, despite signing up to FF and getting a basal thingy, I still don't really understand these charts so I'm not being rude not commenting on them; it would be a case of teaching your grandmother to suck eggs, or suchlike.

My sis in law is a dental nurse kitty, I got a load of free samples of toothpaste last time I saw her. Comes in v handy for our travels! Can't get over the detail you are required to know though.

lbot has been a bit quiet too....hope all is well.
