Well the witch has caught up with me at last. So I have decided its time to start a new thread as I think our christmas reindeer need a rest.
So step aboard ladies and join me for a hunt for the golden egg.

Sorry, that was meant to say CD 17 and 18 in my earlier post there.

Shifty what bloods were they? When do you get the results?

Squirrel77 · 29/08/2012 11:14

Hmm interesting. I tried removing the OPK but O date remained the same.

You should be able to see my TCOYF chart now.

TCOYF seems quite good, it automatically adjusts temps for you if they are taken later or earlier than usual. I also read on various sites that people think it's a better tool for pinpointing O date, but the user interface is pretty clunky.

Squirrel77 · 29/08/2012 11:24

Oh hi Shifty! Didn't see your post. What bloods are you getting done - LH and FSH? Have you done them before? Hope you get pleasantly surprised by the results - when do you get them? I am going in for those tests in a week or so. My FSH was on the bad side of average six months ago so they want to look at it again.

ShiftyFades · 29/08/2012 13:42

To be honest I didn't actually ask Blush
I had hoped to be referred to gynae but no, knobby GP (he really is: told me I'm too old now at 39 nearly 40 )decided to do hormone blood tests and a scan.
Bloods were done last Mon, scan was Fri.
Scan just shows the fibroid I knew I had, nothing extra. Radiographer did an internal one too, ovaries look fine.

So it's just bloods to wait for. Also asked for thyroid to be done as I'm not losing any weight despite doing 3 gym classes a week (I work hard in them too) Sad

Squirrel77 · 29/08/2012 15:15

That GP sounds like a right knob. Did you get the bloods done at some point between days 2-5 of your cycle or a week or so after O?

blackcatsdancing · 29/08/2012 15:42

squirrel your chart looks good i think.

shifty good to know you're getting a thyroid test done, a friend of mine has an underactive one which medication has sorted out. You will at least know for certain why the weight is hanging on. Bloody difficult to lose weight though and gets harder the older you get. I'm looking forward to starting running again if i don't conceive this month. I walk an awful lot- no car , and I try to avoid bus fares as much as i can but its not quite the same as the feeling you get from really pushing yourself, though no doubt if i hiked in the Peaks that would be a real challenge. Good luck with the tests.

Pipbin · 29/08/2012 20:20

Having had a proper look at both, I seem to think that TCOYF has it right. I think that FF struggled because of the missing and late temps.
Either way I think we can say that it has happened!

Evening Grin
I'm not sure about thyroid but would like to rule it out.. If it ok I shall have to keep a food diary I think and stop having 3 mars bars a week
Bloods were taken on CD 14 - is that bad?
He's testing for menopause I think, not fertility (if there's a difference Hmm)
I know naff all about hormones in terms of blood levels.

Anyway. I'm in the 2ww, had a houseguest from Thurs so gave up dtd on day 16, I'm worried it's too early given last months 34 day cycle Confused
We are in a 2 bed place so DS was on a blow up bed so friend could sleep in DS's bed: thurs through to sun (inclusive). Only got around to dtd again last night, so that was most of the critical week missed Sad

ShiftyFades · 29/08/2012 21:39

black I'm a lazy fucker new to exercising, only started in March. I am trying to walk more too though as I don't want DS to grow up thinking its ok to be lazy / overweight.

blackcatsdancing · 29/08/2012 21:49

keeping a food diary is great! i did one recently for around 3 weeks before getting bored, it identified that i was eating far too much bread. Its also really good for keeping you on track when you're on a diet or trying to follow a new healthier lifestyle.

You're probably having your FSH tested. Mine was just under 10. It is a standard fertility test but also used for seeing if someone is menopausal.

Pipbin · 29/08/2012 22:11

shifty I can honestly recommend using an iphone app called Get Running.
It's a couch to 5k programme. Which means that you can start from nothing and end up running 5k in about 8 weeks.
Now I never thought I would be able to do it, but I have and I love it now. Honestly, if you knew me you would know that this wasn't my thing at all. Worth trying.

Well its 8DPO here and still no spotting. This is very unusual for me. Normally I've had something by now!

ShiftyFades · 30/08/2012 10:40

Ooo Pipbin you've been minding reading!!
I was thinking last night that I might start running

I do Zumba on Tues, LBT on Thurs and pump on a Sat (sometimes falls to wayside due to family)
I don't work Mon & fri an my parents often take DS out for a few hrs so was thinking I might go for a jog as I'm not commuted to a time.
Will check out the app, thank you Grin

Pipbin · 30/08/2012 11:28

Nice thing about the app is that each work out is 40 minutes. That way I know I can get it in before work.
I get up at 6, put my running stuff on and go. I'm back and showered by 7 ready to leave for work just before 8.

OP posts:
ShiftyFades · 30/08/2012 12:04

Is running every / most days?

Pipbin · 30/08/2012 12:23

Running 3 days a week. They suggest you run, rest, run, rest, run, rest, rest. So I run on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
The way it works is that you have a lady that talks to you and tells you what to do. She will tell you to run or walk and for how long. It starts by running for one minute and walking for a minute and a half. Then a week later you'll be running for one minute walking for a minute and so on.
I can now run for 30 minutes straight and that is about 3 miles in distance.
The nice thing is that it tells you when you get to half way and that you need to turn round.

OP posts:
ShiftyFades · 30/08/2012 12:39

Oh that's good Grin I could do the same days, only one I'd have to negotiate is Wed as my DH goes to a gym class, but I could run before he goes Grin

Pipbin · 30/08/2012 12:42

In all the time out of the house is 40 minutes. 5 minute walk to warm up, 30 minutes of exercise, 5 minute walk to cool down.
THis is them splendid-things.co.uk/getrunning/

OP posts:
ShiftyFades · 30/08/2012 13:39

Might well be worth the £1.99 investment :)

Pipbin · 30/08/2012 14:36

I used to go to the gym three days a week but I found this so much more convenient, and much much cheaper!

It took me a little while to find a route I liked but then because she tells you when you are half way round I just run a straight line until she tells me to turn round again.

They are not paying me to do this I promise.

OP posts:
ShiftyFades · 30/08/2012 15:51

Lol Grin
You make a convincing sales woman Wink
Might ask my friend if she want to join me.

Pipbin · 30/08/2012 21:09

Problem is that you need to be listening to it on your headphones so might not be good with a friend.

Am I the only person here who listens to The Archers. The story is just heartbreaking and I was sobbing into the dinner I was cooking earlier.

OP posts:
ShiftyFades · 30/08/2012 21:53

Lol!!
Have been looking at those armbands that you pop your iPhone in...
DH laughed when I told him Angry

blackcatsdancing · 30/08/2012 22:06

i bought one for my DC who currently holds their ipod in their hand when running, i'll have to wait a couple more weeks to see it is very useful as its a birthday pressie. They are very cheap on ebay.

I listen to the archers occasionally but don't follow . Can't cope with sad stories really. It gets worse with age.

Pipbin · 31/08/2012 13:07

Shhhhh, speak quietly, I don't want to wake, she-who-shall-not-be-named up.
9DPO and no spotting, this doesn't happen.
Shhh
