iloveberries Age 31, DH 32, DS 2 yrs. Been TTC #2 for a year, 1 m/c, 1 ectopic, 1 tube removed. Will be starting TTC again after my next AF.

Still following the ladies on my original TTC thread but most of them are now pregnant so whilst I'm delighted for them I wanted to start a new place for those who have been TTC for a while and are still awaiting a healthy, sticky bean in the right place.

All welcome..... nothing if off limits, nothing is TMI, no 'babydust' though please

iloveberries - Keeping my fingers for you! and yes I live in SA. Lived in the UK - london and Northampton from 2004-2008. Had DD there and thats when I joined MN. Had much more time then to go on MN. Just felt I needed somewhere where I can chat my heart out anytime and thought of MN. All of you ladies on here helps me alot, all the different stories really helps to know that I'm not the only one going through something so sad. xxx

Hi Berries! You still might get your peak! Decided not to test tomorrow. I'm so confused! Getting pg and pmt symptoms at the moment and don't know which are real! I was so upset when I got the bfn the other day and DH's ambivalence this morning put me off! So I've decided another 2 days wont hurt. He works early sat am for a couple of hours. I'm going to test then but have feeling AF will show even though am usually regular. We live abroad too. I thought it would be best to bring up kids in a nicer climate and safer environment and now look what's happened. Should have done this years ago and moved once we actualy had kids!

iloveberries · 01/08/2012 17:29

Where abouts are you mrs?

OP posts:
iloveberries · 01/08/2012 17:31

Yes, I may get a peak but not a sniff of ewcm when I thought it was starting last month. I'm so confused.

Fair play for waiting mrs, I would be the same I think. Bfn is so disheartening isn't it... At least if af hasn't shown there is still a chance!!

OP posts:
iloveberries · 01/08/2012 17:32

Sorry, I meant I thought ewcm was starting earlier in the week.... But nothing :(

hellokittydrivesmenuts · 01/08/2012 17:39

Berries- I work 3 days a week, have my friends 9 month old on a 4th day as this my friend done to give my dd that sense of hers on the day we socialise with her friends and appears to have subdued the craving for a sibling but 1 day will be alone so going to make that deep clean house and soul day Grin How are you? Tas and mrs I wish we had a sunny climate too! I work for sa dentists and know a little Afrikaans so maybe I should move there Smile x

mrsnec · 01/08/2012 18:09

This whole thing is all a bit confusing! Until I joined here I hadn't even been looking out for the EWCM so you are one step ahead! Yes there's still hope this time I'm just trying not to think about it too much. Anyway, I'm in Cyprus. We are rennovating a village house on the Eastern side of the island. It would be the perfect place to raise a family I'm in a position to be an sahm too which is what I want and just makes this situation even more annoying! My DH is an only child. But he was surrounded by other kids throughout his childhood. I have a DB who is only 15 months younger than me and we've never got on so that's why I 've only ever wanted 1 (and not even there yet) But these conversations about your DCs being on their own has really got me thinking was it kitty's dc who said she's happy to share? - how sweet!

hellokittydrivesmenuts · 01/08/2012 18:16

Mrs- that's an amazing place to be. My dad grew up there Smile my auntie is unfortunately buried between the boarders so we have to be assisted to visit her Sad still great news for when your luck come sahm would be a fab position to be! Yes my dd is 4 Smile she is very happy to share, I was lucky one of 3 girls and very close and I appreciate we are lucky to be as close as we are x x

iloveberries · 01/08/2012 18:26

Wow mrs what took you there? Amazing place to be!
I think there are pros and cons to different family sizes and I do see small pros if we only have our lovely ds. It is very hard when that wasn't what you planned though.

Fingers crossed we will get lucky again though x x x

mrsnec · 01/08/2012 18:32

Hi Kitty, We live very close to the border and the next village from us is like the one you discribe. We do try and learn as much as we can about the situation here and hope they resolve the cyprob in our lifetime. We're both English and so pleased we chose here & not an ex-pat development! Do you get to see your family much? Thanks for your kind words too. I hope yours isn't a long wait either.

hellokittydrivesmenuts · 01/08/2012 18:46

Fairly reg, my family are all forces and I hated it so decided not what I want for mine but equally so proud of my dad, uncles granddad Smile we are based here in Norfolk and such a different way of life, I was mainly in Germany growing up! Thank you so much for your well wishes also! My dad was based in Nicosia but the divide was such a sad thing all those forced to leave homes, cars belongings and evidence of abandoned cars everywhere but the most beautiful place I have visited to date Smile x

mrsnec · 01/08/2012 18:48

Hi Berries crossed posts there! Back in the UK I was from Surrey and DH from the West Country. We ended up in the Midlands through work but knew it wasnt the right place to give a child an upbringing like we had. In laws retired here so we joined them! Totally agree that each family is different I don't know where you all get the energy to try for another when you're allready working and looking after little ones!

iloveberries · 01/08/2012 18:56

So what does your dh do for a living mrs? Sorry to be nosey and don't answer if you don't want but I would love to live somewhere like that but god knows what we'd do for money!!!

OP posts:
mrsnec · 01/08/2012 18:57

Norfolk is lovely too! DH is a forces brat! His DF was Air Force I think they chose their house here as it's between Ayia Nic & Dhekalia but we're a bit further out in the sticks! I don't think I'd want the forces life but certainly admire what they do.

iloveberries · 01/08/2012 18:59

I love Norfolk too!!

OP posts:
mrsnec · 01/08/2012 19:04

I don't mind Berries! We have a business doing property management. Looking after holiday homes and working for letting agents and developers. I haven't found a job but when everyone pays their bills we get by! We have an orchard and grow our own veg and we're self sufficcient in water (almost) and electricity so overheads not that bad. Certainly a very different way of life!

iloveberries · 01/08/2012 19:11

Amazing mrs!!!

My life seems rather dull by comparison!!

OP posts:
Almond301 · 01/08/2012 19:23

Hi Berries

Thanks for the reassurance that offloading is allowed here! 1 seem to have 1 good day followed by a bad day. Bad day today as back to work and everything felt trivial and frustrating. Not everyone knows either which also makes putting a brave face on harder.

OH and I have decided to try straight away and just let nature takes it course. Having said that one of my friends at work said to me today 'maybe your body wasn't ready to deal with the pregnancy as you haven't had a period'. I'm sure she meant well but made me worry that that is the reason and I did something wrong...Sad

Anyhow, mrs I'm very envious! I would live to have the guts to do that but I'm way too sensible. We're planning to move next year, literally max 40 mins away and that seems like a big deal!!

mrsnec · 01/08/2012 19:58

Well I'm not sure if I believe that Berries! Things here can be a bit dull too and I feel a bit old before my time. But I don't regret it It's taken 5 years to get where we are, 3 of those living apart & we still haven't sold our UK house all V stressful so good news would be lovely! Almond, I hope you have a better day tomorrow and after that even better ones! Really do wish some people would think before they speak!

iloveberries · 01/08/2012 21:49

Very weird cycle for me this month.... Was trying to explain to dh why I'm worried something isn't right - didn't want to go into too much detail so said that at ov time I am usually more moist but haven't had it this month and do turns round and says "you mean you haven't got a lot of vag gunk". Gross but bless him for just coming out with it. Sometimes he says things and I wonder if he's been googling on the sly to try and find ways to help us. Hes been such a rock.

Anyway, am beginning to lose patience with this ttc lark... ( for about the millionth time)

OP posts:
mrsnec · 02/08/2012 05:06

That made me giggle! A very crude way of putting it but at least he understands! I'm now out of the game for this month. AF arrived. I don't feel so bad about it wont achieve anything getting upset. but want the next 2 weeks or so to go really quickly. Maybe you'll get the peak today? Have you tried that stuff and DTD anyway?

tasjaSAmuminSA · 02/08/2012 07:24

Morning ladies!
Hellokitty: Goeiemore! Hoe gaan dit Grin Good moring, how are you? Bit of afrikaans for you!
Mrsnec: What a lovely place you live in! Wow, wish I could travel! Only lived in UK and SA but never did a bit of traveling.

Iloveberries: post is funny about DH. Bless him. If he is searching on the internet for ways to help you it is so sweet!
My DH are one of those men that will go and look up things and come back with a stack of papers of info! he did that with DD when we thought I had a MC. Bless him. We married good guys! Grin
have a nice day everyone. My friend is fetching me today and taking me out. Haven't been out since the evacuation. only to take DD to school and back and quick to the shop around the corner. I'm feeling a bit better today. My stomach is just very sore for the first time now since everything.
I want to do something for the baby that I MC. Did some of you do something? Like planted a tree or something? I haven't given it much thought yet. just know I want to do something. Let me know please. xxx

iloveberries · 02/08/2012 07:32

Hi tasja.... I am going to go throw a flower in a river on my due date. I couldn't stand the thought of seeing a plant grow and prosper when my baby isn't Sad I am kind of dreading it to be honest. I am much better when I don't think about it Sad

Cd16 Today and another high on cbfm - hoping I do ov this month if I get the peak tomorrow it means my cycles have just returned to pre ep form. This longing for a baby is getting a bit unbearable at times!

Glad you're having a day out tas. Hope you have a lovely day

Hi everyone else. Moo I miss u!!!!

Morning Tas! Glad you are feeling better and you've been out and about. Definately a good idea to do something. I like the idea of planting a tree. You have a great climate in SA don't you? If you have the space you could grow anything! How about a fruit tree of sorts. Pomegranates are supposed to be a symbol of fertility although we are surrounded by them it's not done me any favours. We plant new trees to mark family ocassions. I go for things in the Orange family as I love the smell of blossom and the fruit is slow growing and rewarding.
