iloveberries Age 31, DH 32, DS 2 yrs. Been TTC #2 for a year, 1 m/c, 1 ectopic, 1 tube removed. Will be starting TTC again after my next AF.

Still following the ladies on my original TTC thread but most of them are now pregnant so whilst I'm delighted for them I wanted to start a new place for those who have been TTC for a while and are still awaiting a healthy, sticky bean in the right place.

All welcome..... nothing if off limits, nothing is TMI, no 'babydust' though please

That's the spirit Berries!!!!! And thanks for wishing us all bfp's.

Soo was feeling mild crampy today so decided to poas on an opk and it's positive again??? Wtf???? Obviously my body having lh surge again but must not be able to ovulate. Well yet anyway. I really do need to stop poasing!!

Countmyblessings · 18/07/2012 22:14

Ilove - I have read back my post and really didn't want to come across all condescending or taking the mick! I just looked over my period tracker and decided to share the info!!!!
Trust me I know how hard of a journey TTC is! After my ectopic in 06 I was obsessed and cried and got quite depressed as I so wanted a baby! And everyone around just got pregnant by sneezing!
But it WILL happen, I have faith that you will be gushing real soon" omg its, it's happened!

Irishmammybread · 18/07/2012 23:40

I've limited access to t'internet at the moment as my laptop is being repaired but I just popped in to see how everyone is.

berries, sounds like you're having a rough day, sorry AF arrived, you're definitely not a failure, life just isn't fair. Hope you get your BFP in the next few months, you deserve it.
Thanks for the good advice too, you're right, all the worrying in the world wont change the outcome so I really need to go with the flow.

ditto , disco and count, thanks for your calming words!

hi to Mezza,Moo and Munch!

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 19/07/2012 08:30

Munch where are you in your cycle? If your in the 2ww then it could mean one of two things: firstly that AF is about to arrive or (and more importantly) that you are indeed pg! Positive OPKs in the luteal phase are often an indication of pg. have you tried POAS? I would Grin fingers crossed!!

Berries yey for the positivity!!! We WILL all be bringing home babies next year Grin I just know it Smile

Well third high temp has confirmed ov. At the hospital now waiting to get a 21 day blood test although I'm thinking that the results might indicate that I haven't ov'd because it's too close to when I actually did and the levels might not be high enough. Anyone have any experience of this? Boobs not as sore as they usually are either, if it wasn't for the temps I would be seriously doubting ov had occurred!!

It's bloody raining again Sad

Mezzaluna · 19/07/2012 09:30

moo hope your test comes out ok! Good that you have the temps to rely on as well, but as long as you ov'd a few days ago I think your test should come out higher than 2, from what I have have read it looks like the progresterone rises pretty quickly after ov. You probably won't catch it at "peak" though. I'm still miffed that my suregery interpreted my test wrong last week. Have learnt my lesson - asking much more specific questions from now on!

berries agreed! Grin

iloveberries · 19/07/2012 11:14

Thanks for the support irish.

moo - sorry i can't offer any advice about your tests as i know NADA, but have a Brew and a Biscuit while you wait at the hospital.

well tonight i am meeting insenstive-pregnant-friend (IPF). She started texting me last night and i told her i'd found her "amazing news" message insensitive. She then replied saying that "we haven't had it easy either but we're lucky compared to you". I found this extremely offensive as, (a) she told me in feb that they weren't trying and by may she was pregnant so how hard can it have been? and (b) I'm pissed off that she's comparing herself to me. And i hate the undertones of pity which come with it. FFS.

Anyway - I suggested we meet and sort it out. I wouldn't bother if we didn't have a lot of local mutual friends. Plus to be honest she's always offending someone in our group with her lack of sensitivity and general twatishness and i think someone needs to call her on it.

Quite nervous about it but really, it needs sorting.

OP posts:
iloveberries · 19/07/2012 11:16

i guess to be fair she could have gotten pg in march, lost it in april and then got pregnant in may so she could have experienced a loss but i still found it a bit rich to say she'd had it hard and besides i think if she'd had a loss she would have been more sensitive about her preggo announcement.... heyho. A mutual friend of ours says that she's just not bright enough to figure out what's acceptable to say.... who knows??

Countmyblessings · 19/07/2012 12:13

Just checking in on everyone!
Ilove - meeting up with this friend and telling her some home truths sounds like a good idea! I hope all goes well and your feeling abit more upbeat today, although the rain don't help make any mood better!
Moowoo- I do hope you get some answers as trying to figure it out by yourself is nuts!!!!! Not had these tests done but if anyone can help its the doctors!!! Fingers crossed!
Hi Irish - hope all is well.
Still here not doing much!

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 20/07/2012 10:44

Berries hope everything went ok with your insensitive pg friend yesterday and that you made her see reason that the things she has said are not right or nice!!

Count how are things going with you? Hope the sickness isn't too bad.

Ditto the above to Disco as well. Hope your feeling ok.

4dpo today, not much to report. Boons finally becoming tender and a bit of cramping but nothing unusual (far too early). Temps all ok so only 11 days til testing!! Not too long really Smile

rachie12 · 20/07/2012 18:40

Hi, all sorry i havent been on for so long i just wasnt sure what to say! i needed some time to take in what the doctors told me, We are still tring though even though docs have said there is no hope. I have just come back from holiday so im hoping that trying not to think about it and relax will work. Af arrived today but i did expect it to but im going to take my clomid tomorrow again i have 3 months left to try on clomid fingers crossed as always :) Congrats to thoughs who have had bfp's its brilliant news and to thoughs still waiting i have been thinking of you all with my fingers crossed for you i just know we will be bringing beautiful babies in to the world and they will be so much more presious to us when they do
Good luck to you all again :) xx

Munchin · 20/07/2012 19:15

Hi Rachie great to hear from you, hope you had a good time on hols. I think your right i would use up that prescription too and see what happens. Worse case is nothing happens but you will know that you tried your best. But seriously fx for you.

Berries, did you have that heart to heart with your insensitive friend? Did you go on the night out? hope all is well.

Moo, sit back and relax on 2ww. did you get any results of the bloods the hospital took?

Hi to Count, Irish & Disco, hope the m2b are doing good. Hi also to Mezza.

What is everyone up to the weekend?

I will be busy sorting, washing, start packing for my hols. Can't wait only 7 more sleeps!!!

On ttc front I poas on an opk on thurs and got a positive I think. The lines were equal in colour strenght. Although I have read that the line has to be stronger than the control line??? not sure about that. But sure dtd anyway to be sure. I might poas on a hpt tomorrow morning just in case in some mad universe i was pg. Well at least I know then I can have a few drinks over the weekend. Then I think i will leave the testing until after my hols and just dtd for fun!!!!

mrsnec · 20/07/2012 20:08

Can I join too? New here but don't know how long TTC. Lost count but definately more than 18 mths. I am 34. He is 37. Tried more relaxed approach as I am doctorphobic but getting bit anxious now. Stopped taking supplements for a while as didn't think they worked am now taking 5mg of folic acid but think dose should be higher? I was pg before 12 years ago with different partner. Worried issue could be with him but don't know how to tell him without sounding like an old nag! (he 5 stone overweight, smokes 40 a day works with dangerous chemicals & drinks double reccomended allowance!) advice appreciated!

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 21/07/2012 08:37

Hi Rachie glad to see you back and that you're gonna bonk regardless. Go show those doctors Smile glad you also had a relaxing holiday!!

Munchin as far as I an aware OPKs need to be either the same colour or darker than the control line so that sounds positive to me. Happy bonking Grin let us know how you got in with the HPT though!!

Welcome mrsnec you will find lots of advice and support here Smile in my humblest of humble opinions, I would get thee and DH to the Docs; if there are any underlying fertility problems with either of you, you need to get the process started because it can take a while (i have PCOS, was diagnosed last October and have only started my first round of Clomid this month after many tests and procedures). Firstly they will prob take blood and test your hormone levels and possibly DH's spermies. As you are worried about DHs habits, it probably is a good idea to ask him to make some small changes (cutting back smoking and drinking) if he really wants a baby!! The doctor will no doubt raise this as a potential issue as well!!

Well, 5dpo today, temps still really high!! Whoop!! 10 days til testing!!! Smile no results back yet but the high temps and sore boobies tell me I have definitely ov'd GrinGrin

mrsnec · 21/07/2012 11:28

Thanks for advice and support! The thought of all the tests, poking & prodding & drugs fills me with absolute dread. I have the upmost respect for all that have been through it. At one point I thought being childless was better than putting myself through that but realise may need to face facts. Live outside UK. Not sure what treatment is covered here. Will start research! I am bit overweight too. Trying to sort that but have been for years! Also call me silly but since being here only just realised how caffeine can be a prob. My biggest vice anyone had any luck after cutting completely?

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 21/07/2012 12:03

mrsnec I tend to only drink decaf now; like you I love my coffee, but i'll be honest, once i got through the withdrawal (mainly headaches) I have been absolutely fine. I occasionally treat myself to a regular coffee, but do not miss it whatsoever. I have also cut down on my alcohol intake and generally am just trying to be healthy (of course, I am also naughty on the odd occassion!!).

Do you have regular periods? If you have been trying for so long, maybe tracking your BBT and CM so that you can pinpoint exactly when you ovulate and then time bonking to coincide. Just an idea. I do highly recommend getting yourself checked out though, if only for peace of mind. :) the tests etc are not as bad as you are imagining, believe me. A few blood tests and ultrasounds and thats all to be honest (i had a hsg as well, which is not that pleasant, but doc would not prescribe drugs I am now on without it!)

mrsnec · 21/07/2012 12:44

Might try that next then! Changing one variable each month with every fail! Am regular as clockwork. 28 days and they always last for 5. I have had pain 2 weeks before though & up to now I've only been tracking myself with dates. No of tests or temps or anything like that. Shouldn't be as scared of docs as I am. Am big wuss. Must accept would be worth it in the long run. It's just a case of when to go. Must admit it also occured to me we're not trying hard enough. Increase in frequency this months variable!

Mezzaluna · 21/07/2012 14:49

Welcome mrsnec! I agree with the others, might be worth a little trip to the doc's. Nobody wants to go down that route, but sometimes it's the only way forward. Best of luck!

moo sounding good! :) Got fingers and toes crossed for you, would be so fab if this was your month!

berries dying to hear how it went with your friend, updates please! ;)

munch keep dtd for fun, hopefully it will lead to that longed for BFP.

rachie fx and good luck with th clomid.

Well, I guess I'm somewhere on my 2ww, who knows where though... this is the longest cycle ever, CD 33 so far. Starting to know how you're feeling munch as there probably won't be an AF for maybe another week or so. You have waited much longer though, haven't you? So it's all a waiting game. Heading off on a spontaneous trip to Cornwall tomorrow, staying until nxt weekend. Wondering if I should bring a hpt or not. Maybe it's better to try to forget about the whole thing and just be careful with the vino. So ready for some nice and chilled downtime with DH, feel like we really need it, have felt so so low for the past week and this emotional rollercoaster is wearing me out.

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend xx

mrsnec · 21/07/2012 16:47

Thanks again everyone! And good luck! Read up a bit on the treatments and they don't sound so bad. Clomid has quite a high success rate and not as many side effects as I thought. Will see how we all get on next month. Going to stop worrying about it for now and treat myself to a few light ales tonight. DH thinks we still have all the time in the world. When I've had a few later I'll break the news that at 37 he's no spring chicken!

Countmyblessings · 21/07/2012 22:56

Welcome back Rachie - have faith regardless of what you've been told thats it hopefully it will end up being a BFP!
Welcome Mrsnec- I agree with the advice given, I guess it's upto you to put things in place to see what will work!!!
Mezza - enjoy Cromwell the sun should be shining!
Munch - clueless about ov sticks the one my friend told me about had a clear smiley face when it was time, do you get any body changes I had cramps in left or right side and cm increased! Good luck!
Does anyone remember this thread 1st BFP countrykitty? I wonder how's she doing? Amazing how many people come on here but fade off!
Irish do u know how far you are?
How's disco doing?
I would also like to know if your meet up ilove went well?

mrsnec · 22/07/2012 07:56

Morning all. Fell asleep before I could chat with DH. But I am going to research how things work here anyway . Already been looking at the ex-pat forums here. May have to save pennies and go private. Unless I get that BFP in 10 days time! Will carry on looking though as I'm sure my current symptoms are in my head as usual. Ilove, ISFs are the reason I'm here when I'd usualy turn to my 'friends' my best friend of 18 years had a few MCs which I supported her through. After she had her first I was delighted for her. She bought her son here for a holiday & when she was back in the UK she e-mailed me telling me as I didn't have kids, she was now going to concentrate on friends she had more in common with. I only found out she'd had her 2nd via Facebook & her tweeting her nursery purchases! The other one also knows how long we've been trying did exactly the same as your ISF. I told her how I felt and have 1 e-mail from her since. She got pg first time she tried & since becoming a mum just complains all the time. What is wrong with these people? Ilove, hope you can sort things out. Have a great sunday everyone!

Munchin · 22/07/2012 11:01

Welcome mrsnec, sorry you are having difficulty ttc, but this is a great thread with lovely ladies who understand. Omg to your so called friends, clearly they were just users. I hope you have found new ones. Three of my best friends don't have kids and that certainly is not a problem for us. I think the others are right there is no harm having a few tests to see what's what. Also for your dh own health he needs to start looking at his lifestyle. Don't get me wrong I know all about it as my dh is equally overweight and it's so hard to get anywhere.

Hi count I think that's a good suggestion when I've used up these internet cheapies I will invest in the digital ones. Hope all is well with you.

Moo yeah to the continued high temps and you are defo in the 2ww. Fx for you. I allowed myself to poas on hpt on sat morning but of course it was a bfn. I poas yest evening on opk and they were still same colour. Anyhow that's it until after hols no more poas!!

Mezza hope you have a fab holiday with dh. You'll come back relaxed and recharged. Sorry your cycle is going on long. It's very frustrating all right not knowing what's happening.

Hi to disco , Irish and berries . Dying to know how you got on with your insensitive friend berries.

Hope everyone enjoys rest of weekend.

mrsnec · 22/07/2012 12:47

Thanks munch. Ironicly it's my friend that categoricly states she never wants kids that's the most understanding! Posted on the living abroad section here to see if anyone's had experience of the system but so far seems to go straight to private IVF when I'm sure there's other things to try first. Or return to UK. Can't see DH wanting to do that! Amazon deliver here though so if bfn next month may order cbfm.

Munchin · 22/07/2012 13:57

Well mrsnec there is lots you can do first for a few cycles. Getting the cbfm and temp yourself. Use opk to track your Lh surge. Obviously take your folic acid and other vitamins may help. Checkout the sperm meets egg plan. (just google it) You are only 34 and you have some time to play with. And you never know maybe you won't need it and get your bfp this month!!

mrsnec · 22/07/2012 14:46

That looks like a great plan. And am not too far away from it this month without giving TMI!But if bfn this time will follow that to the letter next month. 40 percent success rate is good! Out of interest where do you stand re Folic Acid etc? I started taking it 6 months ago. I gave up after 2 months as I'm very impatient and nothing was happening. Just started again but read my dose is so low might as well not bother! Eat v healthy at the moment so diet quite rich in FA anyway and apart from bad caffeine addiction am not big drinker. 1 unit this week!

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 22/07/2012 15:30

mrsnec the folic acid is not really meant to do anything, it merely helps the development of the babies neural tube and provide protection. It needs to be taken whilst TTC and up to 12 weeks of pregnancy. I have been taking it since I started. There are no side effects and it does nothing to aid conception or anything but without it you could be putting unnecessary strain on your unborn child. It's relatively cheap too!
