.. Hi guys, So i'm 2DPO. Had Realllly awful cramping when i ov'd Hmm not sure if this is normal. Never been that bad before, lasted about 2 hours then i was fine. Anyway, worst part of ttc.. the dreaded 2ww!!

:)

Yep, 4DPO I think... I normally ov on CD16 and now on CD20. It's difficult to tell whether I've got any odd symptoms as its my first month of TTCing #2 and is the first month off the pill. Plus I have a stinking cold! After 4 days of misery, I had to cave and take a decongestant, which I know isn't great if I am pg, but I just felt so rotten and thought that the odds of falling the first month would be slim anyway...

Good luck though hun.

X

everythinghappensforareason · 07/05/2012 20:38

Hi aday- You never know :) usualy happens when least expecting.. Im ttc#2 as well!
This is my 5 or 6month ttc now, been having these cramps every month on CD11, this month was alot more crampy, weird feeling, thought i had a water infection when i woke up.. only different thing this month for me.

I will probably wait until a week after af is due. Mainly because before DD, I had an mc at just 5 weeks, so I would rather wait until after that time.

On a positive note though, that first pg was on the first month of TTCing and DD was conceived just 6 weeks later. I doubt I would be as lucky this time but who knows...

Anything that's different to the norm is a good sign - so painful as it is, worse-than-normal cramping could well be a good sign!

When are you planning to test?

everythinghappensforareason · 08/05/2012 10:15

aw so sorry for your loss, Ive been trying since MC, only had normal cycles last few months though. + your right, suppose things being diff is a good sign, won't get my hopes up yet, i'm going too test at the end of the month :)

Morning Everything,

I had some horrid pains on my right side this morning, really low down. I just hope that I'm not having an extra long cycle having come off the pill and only just OVd! Because we haven't DTD since Thursday night so I DEFINITELY won't be PG if that's the case - LOL! Smile

I think I will be testing at the end of the month aswell. I don't do seem to be obsessing too much... Wink

We will have to find ways to distract ourselves...

everythinghappensforareason · 08/05/2012 20:39

Hiya Aday, your not out of the game, i would DTD tonight if i where you, if you have only just ov'd you have about a 24 hour window, right?

  • distractions would be great haha! I just no i will cave, ordered internet cheapy pg tests other day due too come thursday. how could u no cave ;)

Going to try my very best though! would be even worse to get an early bfp then AF arrive, CP's seem too be getting more common..

how are you feeling this evening? do you no when around AF should be paying a visit or not?? x

OP posts:
Goodyhoo · 08/05/2012 20:40

Hi Ladies, mind if I join you? :)

I'm also TTC#2 & now approx 6dpo but can't be sure as cycle not been regular since pg with DD, now 22 months.
Fell 1st month last time with no sysmptoms until AF didn't arrive so feel can't be that lucky again! Planning to test next weekend, 17dpo if no AF.
Had slight spotting today & cramps & hip pain last 4 days but expect just AF.

Goodyhoo · 08/05/2012 21:31

Sorry, had to post quickly as DH wanted to do online grocery shopping! Didn't dare say no! Grin

So, to continue, now into 2ww & obsessing constantly! Feel like rest of world falls into background while I symptom spot... not good for work/housework!

Really sorry to hear about MCs. Is it possible to mc during 2ww? Been sort of ttc (not avoiding ov time) for few months and AF arrived very early once, 24cd, instead of more normal 28-34cd! Prob just irregular cycle but just wondered.

Good luck to both of you & here's to some good news in May... Wine or probably better be Brew x

everythinghappensforareason · 08/05/2012 22:47

Hii goody :o ive heard you can, that's sort of what a chemical pregnancy is, as far as i can tell. Dr.s said to me 1 in 5 pregnancies end in mc. Most women experience atleast 1 in their life time, or more + may not even no, as u would bleed around time of period, with all these sensative tests these days + us obsessive POAS'ers tend to no about them!! But best too think it was an irregular cycle either way id say!

  • my DS was no problem either, new it could never be that easy again :(

Ive really calmed down though, used to be peeing on sticks, just hours days after ovulationHmm Was taking over my life!

Im CD14 + 3DPO. got what seems like a long wait until testing, but saves disappointment, had my fair share of Wine on ovulation day, ooopsyy!!

I might join you in testing next weekend, hearing of faint positives at 8DPO if its a sticky bean, Worth a shot x x

Adayforthinking · 09/05/2012 09:07

Hi Goody and Everything,

Well, 6DPO here and nothing to report at the moment. Other than I've still got a stinking cold but I don't think we should rule anything out as a PG symptom at this stage! Grin

I had a faint +ive at 10DPO on an internet cheapie one with DD. But I'm definitely going to try not testing until AF is late. I think I'll know by next weekend anyway, I'll get a feeling...

xx

cartoonface · 09/05/2012 11:42

hello can i join you?
i mc about 7wks ago. am in my 2nd cycle since. af due in one week. i ov'd 29/30 april according to opk. i get very impatient i want to know now! Grin

CountryKitty · 09/05/2012 14:33

Hi all - can I join too?

Sorry to hear about the MC's. I've had two since january also - so unfair & horrible & totally messes with your head.

We have 2DC but can't remember what symptoms I had with them - not helpful! Not too sure when ovulated, but AF due next Wednesdayish. Also on 2nd cycle since last mc. Only 'symptom' so far is niggly/ sharp pains on both sides similar to ov pains. Goodluck to everyone!

Gillinthesticks · 09/05/2012 15:01

Hi! Can I join you ladies too?

We are TTC baby number 2 after two miscarriages and I'm currently 5 DPO ... good to hear I'm not the only one obsessing about it!

In two minds about whether to test early or like Adayforthinking said wait until a week after AF so if I an early miscarriage I won't be any the wiser. I suspect my willpower will crumble before then though!! :)

Good luck everyone ... hopefully there will be lots of BFP updates at the end of the 2WW!

Goodyhoo · 09/05/2012 22:31

Hi all, :)

Had really busy day at work today so not had chance to obsess ponder possibility of being pg! But all 'funny feelings'/pains/spotting seem to have gone. Not really sure whether this is good or bad sign but you do hear about women who's 1st sign of pg is labour Hmm, so who knows?

Not wanting to be too pessimistic but what signs of ov should I look for next month, if it comes to that? I've only ever really thought of it as roughly mid days of cycle, cd15ish, but maybe I'm missing some other signs. Any suggestions?

As most of us seem to be ttc#2+ (cartoonface not sure of you DC 'status') has anyone else noticed DP seems less interested during 2ww stage than when ttc#1? Hmm Thank goodness for MN!

Anyway, wishing you all lots of healthy distraction during the 2ww, if only to keep us sane (hopefully yours will be more exciting than work!) xx

Adayforthinking · 10/05/2012 09:11

Hello everyone,

Well 7DPO today so am starting to symptom spot and I can report NOTHING - NADA!! Oh well! It is still only 7DPO afterall!

Goody, the best way to work out when you OV is by temping. Search for a website called Fertility Friend. It allows you to track your cycle through temping and identify your fertile time. Unfortunately it's only when you get a sudden increase in temperature that you will know you have OVd. So it's more a way of tracking it in time for the following month. So you know for future.

Other than that EWCM is the way forward! Even the (very lucky Envy) ladies who don't usually get much CM will often notice EWCM which comes around 24-48 hours before OV (sometimes longer before so just start DTD from when you see EWCM).

There are also Ovulation tests but I don't rate them at all. Neither time that I got PG did I get +ive on the OPKs. I think they're a bit hit and miss TBH.

Anyway hun, hope that helps!!

As for your other question, DH was never particularly interested in the 2ww for DD either! He never particularly wanted kids but of course he adores her now, hence why we're having DC#2. But when it comes to the whole process, he doesn't even think about it and just thinks it'll happen when it happens. I think women tend to obsess but men don't...

cartoonface · 10/05/2012 09:20

Men are useless, its very hard not to think about it constently. goody we are trying for our first child. So I'm not only impatient with my now one week wait. But dying to be preg again after mc.

CountryKitty · 10/05/2012 09:49

I'm glad to hear everyone elses other half appears disinterested with the 2ww! DH just does not get it and thinks I'm mad to obsess about it so much.

Our first DC was a total surprise and we only found out about 8 weeks Blush . DC2 was conceived the first month trying, as were the two mc this year. I know we've been incredibly lucky so far but DC2 is now 4 and we're a bit older now. Our previous conceptions have left us with unrealistic expectations (which although aware of, we still have!) and I'm terrified that it's gonna take ages to conceive again and after the mc's just really want to be PREGNANT NOW!!!

I've never had to pay any attention to cycles/ 2ww before so driving myself mad now. Thank goodness for mn!

No other symptoms to speak of, just the tugging pains as before, and don't know if this is something that happens every month or not. Aargh! How's everyone else symptom spotting going?

everythinghappensforareason · 10/05/2012 11:29

Hii Guys :o Im 5DPO. I'm Trying (failing) not to symptom spot. Only thing giving me potentially false hope is when i was drinking at the weekend i was sick, wasn't untill the next day i was sitting thinking about how i never be sick when drinking + the last time i threw up of alcohol was when pg (un aware) with DS!Hmm
Also had heart burn yesterday but i think that was a smoothie haha, im sure its impossible to have heart hurt at what would have been 4DPO haha!

Sorry for your losses ladies :( we went through 1 in Jan, at 8weeks. + im pretty sure ive had a CP since, i had faints on test then AF showed up early :/ all very odd!

I think i will cave too with testing, going too wait as long as possible though!

Is it just me or is anyone else really wanting too take a digital test just too see it spelled out :o i didn't think too take 1 with DS, he was a suprise, and i wasn't obsessed with testing back then haha!

how are we all doing today, any symptoms??

OP posts:
CountryKitty · 10/05/2012 12:27

HaHa know what you mean about the digi tests! I've never done one either but will (being positive) get one next time I get a BFP! I hate it when you test early and are squinting at the line thinking you're imagining things!

Being sick sounds positive. FX

Adayforthinking · 10/05/2012 13:09

I was one of the lucky MNers who had a FREE CB Digitest when they first came out and I got a 'Pregnant' and a '3+ Weeks' in the Conception Window - that resulted in DD!!

So clearly I'm going to recommend them...

HOWEVER after a few days, the result disappears. So don't think it's one that you can keep in your 'Memory' box. Smile

Adayforthinking · 10/05/2012 13:11

As the day has gone on, a few little OV type twinges (at 7DPO) and some weird twinges in boobs.

But all fairly normal I'm sure (trying not to get excited...).

KickingUpQuestions · 10/05/2012 13:16

I started a new thread detailing all the random symptoms so I am not going to rehash them. I'm new here but have lurked a bit.

I am 10dpo today and should know on Saturday for sure. I am regular to the hour but have only ever had three positive OPK's in the 8 months we've been trying.

I've read scientific accounts that say if you get a temperature increase, you're more than likely too late. That CM is the way to accurately test because the temperature increase happens AS you ovulate.

I also read that 70% of women will ovulate before day 10 and after day 17 and of those, 68% conceive within 6 months.

And that OPK's can miss ovulation if the LH surge only lasts 4 hours.

I have read a lot.

KickingUpQuestions · 10/05/2012 13:18

I lied. I've had 2 positive OPK's in 8months with 28 day cycles. Bang on 28 days. And I've had ovulation spotting the last two months - which apparently, coupled with the regularity of my cycles, means I am very fertile

Gillinthesticks · 10/05/2012 15:02

Goodyhoo I used the CB Fertility monitor for both of my last pregnancies/miscarriages so am a big fan particularly because my cycle is anywhere between 21 and 29 days so I'm never sure when I'm going to OV Hmm They're not cheap and you need to buy new sticks every couple of months, but it's meant to be more reliable because it tracks two different hormones not just LH levels ... Anyway fingers crossed it's third time lucky for us ... I'm currently 6DPO so have decided to test on Wednesday next week ... it'll be our wedding anniversary so it'll either be a BFP which we can go out and celebrate (with an Appletiser for me!) or BFN in which case I'll get to enjoy the Wine list! Grin Only experiencing imaginary symptoms so far!!

Sorry to hear about your mc Cartoonface I know what you mean about dying to be pregnant though, it's all I can think about and everyone seems to be announcing pregnancies at the minute!! Fingers crossed this will be a lucky month for us all!

Goodyhoo · 10/05/2012 16:29

Thanks for all the helpful ov advice ladies :), probably ought to pay a bit more attention & make more effort, as its well worth it as we know, & Cartoonface will soon find out :o!

No symptoms of any kind to report here :(, although was having very regular cycles when fell with DD, had no 2ww symptoms and day AF was due & day after I had very strong clear 'AF has arrived' pains/feelings and kept going to loo convinced she'd be there. By 3 days late couldn't stand not knowing, poas got a very strong +tive line on chemist cheepy test (I was convinced it would be false so didn't want to waste £) DH went out & bought CBlue test to be sure! So maybe my body just doesn't do symptoms. I didn't get any breast pain or tiredness with 1st pg. So I'll keep hopeful!!

Any symptom updates to report Ladies?

Also, does anyone think sitting with laptop on lap for long periods of time might be bad idea or am I just stupid? Hmm

xx
