Thought I would take the plunge and start the June thread! I won't be getting my May BFP as my cycles are sooooooo long. Who's. With me?

I just stayed in and watched a film - drank water instead of wine - 30 but feel like I have such a mundane life sometimes

winkle2 · 19/05/2012 00:00

I drank orange squash!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 19/05/2012 07:10

I was dull too. Dh played video games (post dtd Smile) and I watched the great sperm race on YouTube.

FloweryBoots · 19/05/2012 07:33

Oh gosh, we live dull dull lives over here. By the time we've got DS to sleep and had some tea I'm always knackered. DH watches telly or films (mostly I don't like films he does, and they just make me fall asleep) and I'll read or snooz on the sofa. Or I'll be tidying the kitchen and washing nappies, how exciting! I'm 30, think we've been like this for ages (and probably well before DS came along, though the 5.30/6am wake up's hardly help)
Last night I had to work, got home about 11pm. No DTD for us last night, but we knew we wouldn't be up to it after me workign till that time and fitted an extra session in on Thursday. Should be back to it tonight! Reading all the info about when people OV makes me think we've got a few more sessions to do this month to make sure we have best chance of catching that egg. CD19 today but I have no idea when I OV.

tedmundo · 19/05/2012 07:45

Morning you bunch of whipper snappers! You have all made me feel old! 37 years old and feeling it!

My Friday night was an inch of wine, lots of squash, an episode of The Bridge and then a read in bed.

Good times.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 19/05/2012 08:36

37 isn't old Ted am 33 myself so not many years between us.

Dd is going to her grandparents tonight so me and dh are heading off for a night out together. Will have to try and moderate drinking as getting sloshed won't help us conceive and I am now an appalling lightweight and it could get embarrassing

KickingUpQuestions · 19/05/2012 09:27

I don't mind the boring life. I love who I get to be boring with so I see it more as contentment with my best mate

it makes us all very fortuate

i am a gimp

shoot me ;)

RIBS · 19/05/2012 09:36

Wow. Haven't u young un's all been well behaved. We had friends round unexpectedly. Sank a lot of wine n didn't get 2 bed til late. I'm 37 and feel it this morn, oh the pain off wine head and a bouncy 3 yr old!
I'm only cd4, but I will b better behaved 2nite.

winkle2 · 19/05/2012 09:37

We started dtd last night but were too knackered to finish! So will have an early night tonight instead.

I think the pressure to perform can get to you too?

I'm entering my fertile period (CD 13) so we need to be dtd! Have suggested to hubby we go for a nice lunch together tomorrow just the two of us, kinda like a date, and then I'll jump on him when we get back ;)

LittleMissSnowShine · 19/05/2012 10:20

Girls, I'm 28 so my dull Friday nights are particularly tragic Grin I had an identical night to you last night tedmundo - bit of Bridge, v small splash of wine, yummy lasagne. Only diff is I also had vomity sheets and horrid nappies to deal with as DS continues to battle tummy bug. Yuck!! Also I managed to DTD so I'm back in the game after that long, cramp, heavy and particularly nasty AF. Woo hoo, June BFP here we come!!!

GP hammered home that any lady with fertility issues who is ttc should be dtd every 2-3 days the whole way through your cycle, in case you are OV v early or v late, and that since opks don't always work for pcos ladies it is especially the case for us, if you can't accurately predict if or when you are OV best to dtd as much as possible throughout your whole cycle..

Ho hum... better get in the mood then! Nothing more of a mood killer tho than changing encrusted sheets and horrid nappies!!

LittleMissSnowShine · 19/05/2012 10:21

PS) RIBS we have some friends coming round tonight so no doubt i'll be in your condition 2moro!

tedmundo · 19/05/2012 10:28

hi, I just had pink tinged CM. I thought this stuff was mythical. very excited. We are going to set the boys to play on the iPad for a crafty bit of afternoon delight.

Sorry about the hangover RIBS. Cbeebies is surely a given this afternoon to allow mummy and daddy the chance to nurse their sore heads?!

Oh littlemiss - I am glad my night was not full of vomit and poo too.. You poor thing!

Actually, I really don't give a stuff about my age. I am quite young looking and have not gone too 'mumsy' yet. It was a pain getting Ided a lot in my youth but glad for it now!

Pinkie29 · 19/05/2012 10:45

kicking I'm willing my awaiting baby to take root in my womb Grin

winkle we rarely drink for one if I have a hangover the worlds ending and two we're just not into it. Typical Friday night he finishes work at 7 so we'll have dinner get showered watch a movie and in bed by about half 11 (tho an epic shag last night made it worthwhile haha!)

We're both just 30 ppl say 'you should get out there get drunk while you have no kids' but I've done all that and got the tshirt! I'm happy with my drama hassle free life my dp is pretty much perfect I had a nightmare with guys before he came along so if I get bored I just remember all that and I'm soon smiling again Grin

squeakymac · 19/05/2012 10:49

Hi all love hearing about our dull nights - I'm dying of guilt as have just had a v boozy week away at a course, lots and lots of Wine every night Blush. Stayed away from shots though! No real chance of a BFP this month as DTD at totally wrong times due to said course and being away so figured should enjoy a non-2ww! Back home now to recover so will be watching rugby on TV sober this evening!

RIBS · 19/05/2012 11:25

Day time nookie littlemiss. I like it.
Only cd4 n snook a quick morning sesh in when dd downstairs watching telly. I was gonna wait til day 9 or 10 b4 starting but screw it. I'm starting now n gonna go right thru til I get my bfp. Don't know wen I'm gonna ov on the Clomid so not gonna risk the chance of missing it. Plus we're enjoying it.
Good luck Ted. X

On best behaviour now tho. Cutting back on the drink, good food etc. Well once the hangova's gone!

mrsmellow · 19/05/2012 11:26

Hi, we had a non-dull night (for once, hence sharing it Grin )
We went for after work drinks with friends, then on for dinner, then on to a bar opening...up at 7.30 for a run though so relatively moderate with the red wine and in bed by midnight. Also have birthday drinks tonight - and a race tomorrow morning, so keeps us fit and stops excessive drinking I guess! Do have boozy lunch plans for tomorrow with other friends though, so all in all, not exactly low alcohol weekend. Blush
Only had one coffee this morning to be good Wink

QueenOfTheRodeo · 19/05/2012 12:16

Sounds like most of you managed to dtd during your nights in though - wish af would sod off!! pinkie I'm the same, fed up of mad nights out now and I crave a quiet life now too - plus I can't drink anymore like I did when I was 18, I get 2 day hangovers now!

Aww kicking that was sweet "contentment with my best mate" - I feel like that with my DH too, we have such a laugh even when we're doing nothing! In fact everybody's DH sounds fab - we're a lucky lot aren't we! Grin

KickingUpQuestions · 19/05/2012 12:34

pickled - spot on. dh and i have travelled, drank ourselves in stupors, we have fought and loved and we are ready for our first baby

we like doing things now things that we could easily fit a baby into

RIBS · 19/05/2012 12:47

My party days r over. I was wild until dd came along. If I have a proper night out with the girls I have 2 day hangover 2. I used 2 do 5 nights from weds 2 Sunday. What the hell happened.

I do still fancy a nice Sunday aft session from time 2 time when its nice weather.
But can't sort dd for nursery then wk on the Monday.

2b fair I couldn't b arsed anymore. Me n dp r more than happy with an odd night out 4 nice meal and in2 some nice wine bars b4 home.

QueenOfTheRodeo · 19/05/2012 12:57

RIBS that is like my ideal sort of night out now. I still have drunken nights with the girls now and then but always regret it when I can't get off the sofa the next day! Won't be able to do the mad nights once I have a baby - I get epic hangovers and can't imagine having to look after a baby when I feel that bad. Waving goodbye to my youth!!

LittleMissSnowShine · 19/05/2012 16:17

@ted - hope you enjoyed your afternoon sexy times!! Like u I also look young for 28, when I had DS I got stopped by a woman in a shopping centre from surestart looking to make up a group for 'young' (ie. age 16 - 20 mums) Grin must be my student chic converse!

I used to love partying and crazy nights too, and in fairness since we have both sets of grandparents v close to hand and more than willing to mind DS overnight for us, we do still get our share of nights out and a lie in the next morning. but I feel wick just being too wrecked to do anything nice with DS the next day and then back to work on Monday so we only take it up about once a month and ready to give it all up again and get pg!!

Alas, DS's nasty tummy bug continues and I think it might have caught me - feeling v queasy and tired, if it was a different day in my cycle i might be symptom spotting. as it is, i'm tucked up in bed while DS plays around the place, octonauts dvd on the tv!!

winkle2 · 19/05/2012 16:23

I'm happy to give up the wild nights and booze too, I'm so ready for a baby! Was with family today playing with niece and nephews and my sis is preg too so quite hard but makes me even more determined to have one! Left there early to come home and get a session in with hubby before the champions league final tonight ;)

LittleMissSnowShine · 19/05/2012 16:30

winkle - cos i'm feeling wretched, i'm actually reading the NHS fertility patient guide that my GP was talking about yesterday, in her advice that we DTD every 2-3 days at all points in my v long cycles (!!) to improve our chances of getting pg naturally while i wait on my hospital referral to come through. but i just got to a page which i thought might be interesting to you and your DH, given yr worries about him drinking - so going to cut / paste, sorry if this is v boring, remember i'm sick in bed lol

Alcohol
If you are a woman trying to get pregnant you can cut down the risk of harming a developing baby by not drinking to excess and drinking no more than 1 or 2 units of alcohol once or twice a week. A unit of alcohol is about the same as a small glass (125 ml) of wine or a half-pint of beer or lager.
If you are a man, your fertility is unlikely to be affected if you drink no more than 3 or 4 units of alcohol a day. Drinking excessive amounts of alcohol can affect the quality of a man?s sperm.

3-4 units a day is ok for a man when they're ttc ...that's like 2 pints a day!!! Lucky men!!!

winkle2 · 19/05/2012 16:35

2 pints a day? My OH can drink 2 pints in 2 minutes LOL

LittleMissSnowShine · 19/05/2012 16:36

Sorry, here's another boring fact from the NHS. This stuff is kinda blowing my mind a wee bit!!

"The use of charts of a woman?s body temperature taken first thing in the morning (known as basal body temperature) should not be used to check whether you are ovulating normally as they are not a reliable test for this."

I thought temp charting was supposed to be v useful to check if you're ovulating or not?? Can anyone offer any insight into why the NHS doesn't recommend this?? Who knew....
