cartoonface · 01/05/2012 16:00

yeh ive been trying to sort that they offer nothing secific for early mc but put me on to a berevement (cant spell!) counsellor ive been waiting a month to hear back from them about an appointment

ScrambledSmegs · 01/05/2012 16:01

Fluff was it NM? The ref to bd-ing made my spider-sense tingle! I can't bear that site, some lovely people on it but also some horrible prejudiced stuff couched in twinkly language, which is never challenged even by the mods Angry

cartoonface · 01/05/2012 16:01

funny you should say that smegs my mum has informed me that a few yrs ago a pyshic told her i would have a baby it just wasnt with the bloke i was with at the time, i have a better model now Wink

ScrambledSmegs · 01/05/2012 16:02

You can talk to us cartoon. We'll always listen and be here for you.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 01/05/2012 16:04

I think Fluff is right too Cartoon I think quite a few of us here have had m/cs. We are all here for you.

Fluff I am so Angry at that post. Some people are utter twats.

cartoonface · 01/05/2012 16:06

feels i should not be bringing you down at your happy time thou smegs

ScrambledSmegs · 01/05/2012 16:08

Don't be daft. We've all had some horrible lows on these threads, as well as the highs. We support each other. We're brookers, and that's what we do Wink

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 01/05/2012 16:12

:o at cartoon's upgraded model! Wink
I'm with smegs - this is precisely what we're here for :)

Not NM smegs - pregnancyforum.co.uk. There were dozens of posters in her thread consoling her?!?! Angry

BestLaidPlans · 01/05/2012 16:17

Oh Cartoon, miscarriage is such a shitty experience, not only does it rob you of all the hopes you had for the baby you lost, it robs you of the enjoyment of early pregnancy. I wish I could give you some helpful advice, but I think I only began to get over it a bit when I had DD and realised that I wouldn't have her if the other pregnancies had worked out. Cold comfort I know, but do talk about it if it makes you feel btter.

Geeklette · 01/05/2012 16:25

maybe Thanks, doing ok here (as with everyone, good days and the other kind). We saw the doc yesterday for the blood test/SA results. He wrote the referral form out to see the specialist there and then on the basis of MrGeek's swimmers basically preferring to walk (only 2% were up for the English Channel - damn my man needs more coffee!). As the % was so low he said they would probably want to skip IUI and probably even the bog standard IVF in favour of finding the one little chap swimming around in the sample and showing him what an egg is and how he gets in.

Worrying moment though - I had to explain to the doc about temping, and 'prove' that I hadn't ovulated at the 'normal' time for most people. On the basis that I insisted that yesterday (CD47) was in fact the equivalent of CD21 for me, he took another blood sample to get a true progesterone reading. The Day 21 bloods came back with 0.3 prog which he was initially very worried about until I explained my temp chart.

It really pays to know your stuff when you go in to see these guys. They are excellent all-rounders, but they can't be experts at everything.

Fluff How awful! I can't believe some people actually do that. I really hope the little fella doesn't suffer for it.

~grabs some carrot cake and wanders off, wondering if it will affect tonight's weigh-in~

cartoonface · 01/05/2012 16:26

did it take you long to become preg again laid? im just desperate for bfp as i think i will feel abit better but im sure all my worrying isnt helping me acheive that. vicious circle!

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 01/05/2012 16:29

I hope your referral comes through quickly-ish geek

Tock did DH ever go back for his 2nd SA? I'm just curious to know if it improved, once he cut down on the booze and started on the man vits etc

BestLaidPlans · 01/05/2012 16:31

First time I got pregnant in March and MCd in June. Pregnant again in September, lost in November. Pregnant again in February, had DD a year to the day after the second miscarriage. Written down it doesn't look that long, but it felt like forever!

cartoonface · 01/05/2012 16:51

god i bet it did! but all came right in the end so u are my proof. must keep telling myself that i will have a baby!

clickingtock · 01/05/2012 16:57

Fluff - DP did second SA a few days ago, funnily enough. Thanks for asking. We are booked in with the GP for results on 8 May. Watch this space... I will take great pleasure in stringing them along for a while before we mention BFP, fx all goes well until then, of course. I am more than certain that acupuncture, followed by no booze, followed by less intense SWI made it possible for Mrs egg to meet that old stranger Mr sperm... Geek - we were on 4% as 'best' swimmers (should be around 25%) in January. But with careful management etc we managed finally to get a BFP. Hope that encourages you. I was told to consider ICSI too, then only weeks later we got diffed. I realise that my DP doesn't have diabetes but I really would recommend traditional Chinese medicine for male fertility - if you can persuade him of course. (He must be clear that he has diabetes btw.)

cartoon - try to have faith that your story will turn good and that the past is the past. I know that sounds glib and easy when it isn't easy, but really trying to look to the good in the future will make tough times feel smoother. Sounds like you really do need someone to talk to. In the meantime you've got us lot to put up with. Wink

farfallarocks · 01/05/2012 16:57

fluff you and I share views on the whole gender thing!!

tock come and join us here when you are brave enough

clickingtock · 01/05/2012 16:57

BestLaid - sorry you have had such a hard time of it. Thank goodness for your DD. How old is she now? x

farfallarocks · 01/05/2012 17:11

Oh cartoon if you look back at the threads we have all some awful lows, either having MCs or taking ages to conceive, that is what we are all here for :)

I became a little unhinged after 2 chemical pregnancies in June (well lost it at 5 weeks) and then in September. Took me until Feb to get pregnant again, not that long but felt like an age and it was all I could think of to the point where DH and I started rowing about it. Try and keep as busy as possible, book some weekends away if you can, try and enjoy eachother adn this time in your relationships, keep fit and look after yourself, that would be my advice not that I followed much of it myself mind

cartoonface · 01/05/2012 17:13

So glad I have all u guys! I'm gunna use all my power to positive think my self to that bfp this month!

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 01/05/2012 17:47

Ahh Tock it will be cool in the interests of science... and nagging to know how much of a change there's been, once the results come back :)

Indeed we do, far!! :o

Evening all

Been another busy day on the brooking thread.

Tock/Bean so pleased you are now a PSEPP, I am so chuffed for you. Are you going to PM that other MNer who gave you her advice on timing? I saw the thread where she was sharing her tips. I am sure she will be delighted for you.

Fluff I wish I knew these people who are grieving for an unborn child of the wrong gender, I will happily take it off her hands. How Sad though.

Sparks I have had a complete 'mare of a day too, get your tea and maybe a glass of something, just one won't hurt.

Cartoon everyone has highs and lows on their TTC journey. You are among friends now who understand what you are going through, it is really helpful to let it out IYSWIM. {{{hugs}}}

Whims maybe you just tested a bit early. Give it a couple more days.

Did someone mention carrot cake???

Another Smile on CBD OPK today, not sure what is going on as never had any positive result on these before and now I have 2 days in a row. Defo think egg is popping as have been very crampy all day, actually quite painful now. Maybe things are a bit more tender after the HSG. Anyone else noticed this?

Popping off to watch Homelands from Sunday - might have something cold alcoholic to drink Wink

TheLittleFriend · 01/05/2012 19:46

Hi everyone

Still all pleased and smiley about smegs and beantock Smile

cartoon When I had a mc in Jan, I was just 11 weeks when it happened, but was told that the foetus had probably stopped growing before 7 weeks. Part of me found this very hard to cope with, because I was 'less' pregnant than I thought, but it also meant that the pregnancy really was never at all viable, which helped slightly. Anyway, all I'm trying to say is that I know what you are going though and I don't mind talking about it helps Smile x

whims your tango-ing made me laugh out loud, and maybe, you did too by saying you had been 'all sage and shizzle'. GrinGrin

Welcome back geek

CD9 now, low on the cbfm today as expected, but started shag week last night anyway.

Geeklette · 01/05/2012 20:00

Sorry to hear about your bad day, sparks and sweetie, hope the evening perks up for you both.

tock, I'd be really interested to hear the results of the second SA, and what you did differently. Poor MrGeek is walking around rattling like a tube of smarties at the moment, I have given him so many extra tablets to take (on top of his ever lengthening list of diabetes related stuff poor lad). Today's addition was Wellman Conception. He got off lightly though - thought I was going to have to feed him pycnogenol as well, until I read the wellman box properly and realised it already contains pine bark extract. Three months is a flipping long time to wait for an improvement though - thank goodness for Boots three for two offers!

little thank you :)

cartoon I'm sorry I can only offer you hugs and an ear, I've no advice and would dread to think how I would cope with a mc. The other ladies on here are fab though.

~waves carrot cake in sweetie's direction - it's good for you, I lost two pounds this week thanks to the wonderful carrot cake diet LOL~

cartoonface · 01/05/2012 20:03

Iyswim?
