The last couple of threads got lots of people pg. Let's hope this is another lucky one.

any advice on how i can just calm the f* down!

BartletForAmerica · 01/05/2012 10:15

cartoon, everyone is welcome here. When I first became a rat smacker, I'd had no previous problems and was made very welcome.

tock, your news broke Mumsnet last night! I kept trying to post after I read your news but couldn't. Congratulations! That's amazing. Well done!

ScrambledSmegs · 01/05/2012 10:17

scarlett I'm so sorry you had a rough time at the clinic. I think as tock says, with IVF they do like to do the AMH test as it affects what meds to give you. Don't quote me on that, I'm not an expert! I'm very surprised at the cost of your test though, mine was £30. I suppose it depends on the level of subsidy the NHS trust pays.

Is there anyone you can talk to / get hugs from in RL that can help? My DH was about as much use as a chocolate teapot when ttc - he kept saying that I just needed to relax, and the tests were doing more harm than good. Grr Angry Seriously, most men have no idea what we go through - unless of course they get a bad SA result, and then no-one understands what they're going through Hmm

(((((hugs)))))

CupcakesAndCocktails · 01/05/2012 10:18

Bean well done on getting the elusive CBD to confirm that BFP!

Scarlett not me me me at all. Starting assisted conception is a big deal and I'm not surprised it's all you can think about. Especially as it's all happening so quick. I would take up the counselling as hopefully they might have some good coping mechanisms. A friend of mine that had IVF swore by these hypnotherapy type CDs that she listened to during the 2ww and she is not the type of person to go for acupuncture etc...We will all be here brooking for you throughout x

CupcakesAndCocktails · 01/05/2012 10:20

Hey Smegs how are you this morning? Has it sunk in yet?! Grin

whimsicalname · 01/05/2012 10:24

Morning all. Just rushing in to say massive congratulations to tock. In imps's absence, I've done 23 cartwheels and tangoed the man doing the important presentation. He was just coming onto his conclusions when I ran up with massive hands, slapped him and shouted ORANGES.

Hope things are calming down for you smegs and that today is a good day for everyone as well.

Bonjour mes amies (is that right? Perhaps I'd better stick to Swedish) God morgon mina vänner

bean no progress has been made on the SA, I haven't mentioned again yet, i didn't want to ruin a lovely weekend by nagging :o I think we're going to try your less is more approach to SWI for the next few months and see if that works.

smegs am I right in thinking you charted on FF? How did your chart look the month you didn't know you were pregnant?

Sorry that the weather is so crap in England at the moment, I won't mention that I'm sitting in the garden in the sunshine

clickingtock · 01/05/2012 10:30

Hi Bartlett - yes MN let me down in my small moment of glory - collapsed at the first whiff of my BFP. Grin I survived. Thanks for your kind words. Do you think MN is up to the job when we get the dog's pregnancy confirmed? My DP is quite horrified that he might be surrounded by pg women in Bean towers. Thank goodness he has DS to talk to about cars. Oh and he is already talking about having to wait for a wedding now... boo. No double shotgun wedding for the beantock.

Cupcakes - is CBplus notoriously shy? She gave me a strong blue line straight off, bless her. How are you getting on my lovely? Good advice re' hypnotherapy/relaxation CDs. Worth a try Cartoon - plus doing anything that you really enjoy - be it watching back-to-back crap telly series, gardening, baking, or shagging for FUN?

Thanks for the Brooking Far. I have to remember that this first trimester is a very delicate time. I was so focussed on getting egg to meet sperm... but of course there's rather a lot more involved. How is Farlet? I know scan went well and am mega chuffed for you.

Going to get off and potter but leaving you all some rhubarb crumble and real custard - far too early but who gives a damn!

clickingtock · 01/05/2012 10:33

Ooh - and Beedle - good luck with quality not quantity. Just do what feels right (hence our 5 day gap instead of a week) but do hold off close to ov if you can. Want your sunshine now.

And big Grin at Whims's tango man-grabbing. Far more compelling than his conclusions I'm sure.

Really am off to do something functional now! Grin

NoMaybeAboutIt · 01/05/2012 10:35

T'internet ate my post! I was being all sage and shizzle.

I shall summarize.

Bean I was saying how I can't stop smiling for you.

Cartoon, if I knew a good method of relaxing, I would share it, but as of yet I can'e find one. Though I do find being busy is the best strategy at the moment.

Scarlett you are really going through it at the moment. You are allowed to feel vunerable and sick and tired of it all. The prodding and poking will have a good outcome though, judt remember that. And ignore DH. Mine was all 'relax' until he picked up his jar for jizzing in. Oh, but in the waiting room last night, he asked me what he needed to ask for just before we went in. I told him to ask for a jar to jizz in. He couldn't keep a straight face through the appointment Wink

Whim you crack me up. Though I am now craving tango.

Beedle the weather couldn't be more grim. Though the upshot is, I now look like I live in a lake rather than a field Smile

Yes Smegs how did your chart look?

cartoonface · 01/05/2012 10:40

mmmm thinks eating might be the thing i really enjoy
not sure on this shagging for fun business hehe have to admit ive not felt the urge that often since mc much to dp disapointment
i find it hard to concentrate on things lately even my book! usually i love to read

ScrambledSmegs · 01/05/2012 10:44

Beedle I love a bit of Swedish in the morning. Fnar Grin Sadly I stopped using FF just before I went on holiday early this year, I kept getting odd bleeds and was convinced my fanjometer was causing it! Maybe if I'd still been temping I wouldn't have been caught out like this.

Hypnotherapy CD's are great, I used these for labour with DD, and they do an IVF companion.

tock Hmm at your DP using the pregnancy as an excuse to postpone the wedding! Since when did pregnancy = no wedding? I thought it was the other way around!

jenfraggle · 01/05/2012 10:45

Congratulations Tock!

clickingtock · 01/05/2012 10:53

I know Smegs - if he wasn't the most gorgeous, unassuming fella I would be annoyed with him. Do you know what his excuse was... "You'll want to enjoy a drink on the day..."

Sorry - I was meant to be buggering orf.

ps Thanks jen!

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 01/05/2012 11:39

:o MrTock what an excuse...

Scarlett that sounds like an awful lot to deal with in a very short time - I second the suggestion of counselling :)

Smegs my hypno CD came this morning, thanks for the recommendation :)

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 01/05/2012 11:40

Hurrah - it took me ages to post that. I think tock keeps breaking MN :o

clickingtock · 01/05/2012 12:09

Grin Grin

Geeklette · 01/05/2012 12:29

~sneaks in bearing vino, coffee, teapots and a variety of fattening and non-fattening cakes to suit all tastes~

Flipping heck, I take a week's break and you ladies talk the place down! I'm afraid i can't possibly namecheck everyone, I think I just ready through about 15 pages of posts!

Firstly, thank you to everyone who was so sweet after my last post. I read everything you said, and was very grateful for all your kind words and nudges. I was just far too emotional to reply at the time. Ironically, it turns out that lack of DTD means very little in our case, as ICSI is probably the only way we are likely to conceive. However, as a good brooker, I have been telling MrGeek and myself that "it only takes one little fella".

Secondly smegs OMFG WTF?? Congratulations are definitely in order and that's four weeks you no longer need to spend worrying. So sweet that it waved :)

Thirdly tock super congratulations, that is fantastic news.

Maybe I should take a break more often? Seems it spurs on all the action :D

Finally... secret facebook group? Sounds exciting! I only got a facebook account for the first time last year - was put to shame by my mother and my auntie both having one Blush. I've not been a brooker for very long, so feel a bit cheeky asking, but could I join please?

I daren't post more, I'm on leave this week and have a chore list as long as my arm to get through. Luckily, the rain has meant the outdoor ones have to be postponed hehe!

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 01/05/2012 13:51

Of course Geek - pm me your name/FB profile page and I'll friend you, then add you to the super secret group-o-rama :)

whimsicalname · 01/05/2012 14:02

In the interests of business as usual over here on the Brooking thread, I thought I would turn the conversation away from FB and back to cervical mucus.

I'm on CD30 (previous cycles, for those who aren't keeping a spreadsheet) have ranged from 25 to 40 days, although the 40 day one was last month when I had a bfp at CD36 and then AF a few days later.

Having poas (from the marmalade cupboard) (in the wetroom) I had another bfn this morning, but still no AF. If I'm not pg this month, we;re starting on SA and going to the dr. There, consider the gauntlet laid down.

Just had to get that out of my system.

OP posts:
NoMaybeAboutIt · 01/05/2012 14:12

Whims I am keeping it all crossed for you. You don't temp do you? Do you OPK? Apparently all the cool kids do it.

We will be in the same boat, and will therefore be able to hold hands. I defy AF to break through that barrier

Geek welcome back. How are you doing? Where are you along the ICSI route?

cartoonface · 01/05/2012 14:21

i have a probably very stupid question! since they use your last period as a guide to date pregnancy, but actually for about to weeks of that you werent actually pregnant is that adjusted at the first scan. ie are u just dated by the size of feotus? so those 2 wks (well if u have an average cycle) just disappear and set u back

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 01/05/2012 14:31

Cartoon you're always +2 weeks for the whole of your pregnancy - i.e. I'm currently officially 17 weeks, but my foetus will only be 15 weeks iyswim. I've no idea why!!! :)

Brooking for you this month, whims - it's probably way to early for an agreeable peestick at this point?

BestLaidPlans · 01/05/2012 14:42

Congrats BeanTock Excellent news!

Brooking for anyone else about to POAS.

cartoonface · 01/05/2012 14:42

it confuses me so how do u end up with the situation of not being as far along as you thought by wot the scan says and u have reg periods to date from Confused
