Sparks I'm keeping everything crossed for you. Yes, once DH and I have the results, she will refer us onto the gynae dept at our local hospital nots of bonking in between. She didn't seem worried that I might not have ov'd this cycle.

Solars I am knitting socks as we speak. Not too ambitious at all. Try loop knitting for yarn, it's my favourite. I prefer to knit on a pair of circular needles using the magic loop method. Easy peaty once you get the hang of it. I have a nice plain pattern if you would like it to get you started.

Solars · 30/04/2012 12:27

Maybe thanks, the pattern would be great, is it online or i can pm you my email address? I've seen one pattern i like but it's all americanised Hmm in terms of sizes!

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 30/04/2012 12:36

Look for a yarn that has nylon in it for super durable manly-man socks :)

NoMaybeAboutIt · 30/04/2012 12:36

Pm me your email, and I will get it sent over!

Solars · 30/04/2012 12:41

Thanks Maybe will pm you now, and Fluffy he will definitely need the 'durable' part, he also seems to think i will have them done by the end of the week Hmm

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 30/04/2012 13:49

:o Mr Solars what faith he has in you! Wink

Bit random, but does anyone have a favourite recipe for curried aubergine? I have 4 aubergines that need using up and we had a really lovely curried aubergine dish in a Nepalese restaurant a few months ago (I'd have never considered currying them before!) but not being a curry expert we use jars, sob I'm not too sure which of the many recipes available online to go for :)

cartoonface · 30/04/2012 14:18

oh well then we can all place orders for hats and booties once u get going solars

Solars · 30/04/2012 14:27

I have an indian aubergine curry recipe? I'm assuming you have 4 small aubergines. Unfortunately when I cook curries I add spices by sight so hope this tastes ok if you give it a go.

Cut the aubergines into inch rounds and then into bite size wedges.
Pour oil into a pan and once hot add a teaspoon each of cumin seeds and black mustard seeds, you can add a few curry leaves too if you have them
Once they start popping add 1 large finely diced onion
Leave to colour slightly and then add teaspoon each of grated/minced ginger and garlic. Also at this point add a chopped fresh chili (more if you prefer it hotter)
Then add dried spices 1/4 teaspoon turmeric, 1/2 teaspoon chili powder, 1 teaspoon cumin powder, 1 teaspoon coriander powder and salt to taste
Let this cook out a little and then add all the aubergines
Once these have browned and softened add about half a tin of chopped tomatoes (more or less depending on how saucy you want it)
Let the tomatoes reduce down so you start to see the oil on the surface add some water and leave to simmer a little longer and then to finish add a handful of chopped coriander.

Hope that may help...

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 30/04/2012 14:39

Thanks Solars I'll give that a go tomorrow! It's 4 full size aubergines Shock Blush Do you think I could freeze half once it's cooked?

Solars · 30/04/2012 14:42

Right. I went for my scan. Heartbeat present, in right place, all ok. Except...

It was a BABY. Like an actual BABY. It waved at me Shock

I've been re-dated to 11+3. I thought I was only 7 weeks. I had a period in march and peaks on a CBFM. I had an HSG. I can't believe it. I keep laughing and crying at the same time. Shock

I'm due in November Shock

I'm currently trying to sort out everything with the hospital, changing all my scan dates and appointments. I'm shaking a bit and struggling to talk normally so I hope they don't think I'm drunk. Shock

Did I mention I was Shock

BestLaidPlans · 30/04/2012 16:12

whimsicalname · 30/04/2012 16:15

Great minds tho. I was wondering about bean. Hello if you're out there.

Bfn for me this morning sparks but a bit early. Will try again tomorrow Wednesday just in case the three one I used earlier was duff.
