Just Shagging - the lazy way to make a baby! Part, um, 8?

Over the last year or two we've had a thread for those who are Just Shagging. Confused by OPKs, too lazy to temp, can't read a chart to save your life? Not quite ready to forgo the Wine? Well stick with us!

Of course it's been SO successful that we're down to a tiny handful of regular posters, as everyone else has graduated and we'll ignore the fact that those of us that are left are probably way beyond Just Shagging. But it's an ethos rather than a strict rule. Come and join the fun Grin.

No rules here, other than EWCM is hereafter known as Pant Snot. AF is known as the Evil Red Tide of Doom (ERTD). Viroids is our name of choice, the reason is long since lost in the annals of time. If you really feel the need to take a test, Gu Ramekins are what all the classy birds are using. And of course, drinking is essential. Sometimes, we even remember to have sex Wink

So don your shag capes and throw your legs in the air caution to the wind :)

Old thread here if you want proof it works!

I cannot type properly as my fingers are tightly crossed for everyone hoping for a BFP!
south, I get really down too just before ERTD. x

Welcome Kitten!

Had a nightmare weekend with DS (he's not a fan of teething), I'm actually really, really glad I'm not pg atm as I'd be unable to cope with it (slept 15+hours a day in my first trimester with him).

KickingUpQuestions · 14/05/2012 08:18

As always, i am proof that nothing is goes according to plan

KickingUpQuestions · 14/05/2012 10:04

Ah something that's such good news, mate :D

Congrats!!!

topbannana · 14/05/2012 10:09

Ooh exciting times, fingers crossed for you all :)

A little JS here but nothing like some of you (partly down to the move and partly down to being married to a relic :o) A busy weekend and now the house to myself at last, sadly my leisure time is marred by the need to do cleaning and other domestic tasks- tish tish!

I think I may be at the 2ww now, never having any clue when I ov or anything else as useful as that. The best part of this is, if my calculations are correct, I should be ov again when we are on holiday- ooh lala!

KickingUpQuestions · 14/05/2012 10:54

I wonder if I don't have my dates all wrong?

mandasand · 14/05/2012 12:18

cor, pages and pages of news to catch up on!

welcome to new peeps!

very happy for you something! that's great news :-)

we have been JSing every day since ERTD stopped late last week, despite spending whole day travelling back from France on Friday and then hooning straight up to Hull at 6.30am on Saturday morning for a weekend of celebrations for a mate's 40th. as a result of that all the relaxed vibe from the holiday-honeymoon has completely disappeared and the house is a tip - half unpacked bags everywhere - and the garden and allotment full of weeds. am trying to ignore everything and get my head back into work mode, but thankfully I work from home most of the time so I can do the odd sneaky load of washing etc!

so, chaos and tiredness reigns, but we are religiously sticking to JSing every other day as I think that's the best chance of catching the egg! one thing I'm loving about being off the POP pill, though, is that I feel a lot more urge to JS before. It was fine on the POP but it's just more intense and spontaneous when natural hormones kick in :-)

tiredteddy · 14/05/2012 13:10

So KICKING, what do you think your dates are? Are you normally regular?

MANDASAND, sounds like you have been very busy. Hope the 40th was fun. Our house is always a tip, I'm naturally messy Blush I keep planning to try harder but failing. Well done with all the JS too!

TOPBANANA, how long til your holiday now? Have you begun packing?

SOMETHING who else has has BFP'S from this thread, I can't remember already. Are you going to start a "due in 2013" type thread once you've seen the doc? You will be missed here x

LHStriptease, shame about the BFP'S any sign of ERTD for you? And KICKING how's things with you too?

HORSE how is your DS now? Teething is a horrible time for little ones.

Hi to everyone else I've missed, I actually have this thread open on my phone as well so I can try to catch up on everyone's news! Posting on my iPad. Hope I didn't miss anyone's recent updates, it seems to move so quickly at the weekends!

KickingUpQuestions · 14/05/2012 13:18

Hey tiredteddy - how are you today?

My dates have been:

23 January (was 10 days late in December though and AF appeared on 25 December)
20 February (seem to have fallen into routine)
19 March (Feb was a short month)
15 April (4 days earlier???)
MAY??

So I had put my May down for 13 May because my cycles generally go for 28 days bang on.

OV is a bit all over the place because I am not sure.

But there is no other reason (apart from pregnancy) for me to be late then? Except for I just worked all dates out wrong?

When you due? Tuesday?

tiredteddy · 14/05/2012 14:12

Hi KICKING!

I find it so hard to predict my cycle. I did go to the GP who said that since I bled for at least 4 days each month it was likely that I was ovulating. However my cycle is so variable it's ridiculous. I came of the pill last july but didn't make a note of what was going on over the summer. From Sept to April the cycle lengths have been 21, 26, 28, 25, 27, 27, 23, 32! I am on day 29 now but no sign of ERTD yet. Such a nightmare. I don't want to test before another 32 days in case now my body has decided to have long cycles. So I'm just waiting to see what happens. What's your plan just watch and wait? Or are you going to test? X

KickingUpQuestions · 14/05/2012 14:20

Hey teddie

I tested this morning and got a BFN.

Yep my gynae said that if you're fairly regular, then you more than likely ovulated. I would take an average of all your days and then try to work based on that? Also - shag more. I know it sounds silly but people say that everything happens on day 14? They lie. The time can extend over 26 days!

I have told my DH that AF is here. I am fairly sure it will arrive today and this stops him from worrying anymore.

tiredteddy · 14/05/2012 14:26

Thanks KICKING its nice to have people to talk to about this stuff. I hope we are shagging plenty, going for very nearly everyday regardless of when I've ov as I just don't know! In terms of averages AF/ ERTD is due from now I suppose. Will keep JS in case. Wink

tiredteddy · 14/05/2012 14:26

Oops, meant to say sorry about the BFN Sad

KickingUpQuestions · 14/05/2012 14:31

I would rather have the "oooh I don't think you're pregnant" than the tons of wishful thinking though. I really got my hopes up this month :(

I am thinking about binning the "casual" approach and going great guns next month on the temperatures / pressed / ovulation / fertility - everything.

topbannana · 14/05/2012 14:48

kicking The trouble with all that great guns stuff is that it can throw up more problems than its worth. DH and I have ttc for some time though due to circumstances it never happened (not surprising really) Eventually, and against my better judgement, I bought some OPK's. These showed positive everytime I used them and caused me no end of anguish until I saw my GP. A quick blood test revealed I had ov'd and my GP advised a "sample" from DH. This is still pending as we have cut right back on alcohol (we are previously from the licensed trade Wink) and are making more effort to JS regularly. If nothing has happened by the time we come back from holiday DH has (reluctantly) agreed to visit what he delicately refers to as "the wank clinic" :o
Due to the fact he is a relic we would not have further intervention past this(even if we could afford it) It would just be nice to have a definitive answer about whether it was likely to happen or not.
If you feel that approach is better for you then good luck, for me it bought matters to a head by forcing me to visit the GP but caused dreadful upset in the meantime Hmm

KickingUpQuestions · 14/05/2012 15:07

I hear what you say and I kind of agree. My body is very clearly against whatever the "natural" flow of things is.

When you read up about fibroids - I got the kind that no one ever tells you about. The kind that you can very easily bleed to death in a couple hours. I was 27 at the time and no hospital believed me.

I had injections to try shrink them - so landed up going through menopause-type stuff so I quite enjoy telling women that's it's actually not that bad.

I have PCOS but no cysts so I pay them no attention.

I started puberty at 8 years old. I spent my life thinking I would never get married and then I did. I spent my life thinking that I was infertile.

BUT I have the most amazing, supportive husband. The one thing I never thought I would have.

And I lied because I've not started AF yet. But I told him I have because I am sure I will. At some point. HA HA
