Over the last year or two we've had a thread for those who are Just Shagging. Confused by OPKs, too lazy to temp, can't read a chart to save your life? Not quite ready to forgo the Wine? Well stick with us!

Of course it's been SO successful that we're down to a tiny handful of regular posters, as everyone else has graduated and we'll ignore the fact that those of us that are left are probably way beyond Just Shagging. But it's an ethos rather than a strict rule. Come and join the fun Grin.

No rules here, other than EWCM is hereafter known as Pant Snot. AF is known as the Evil Red Tide of Doom (ERTD). Viroids is our name of choice, the reason is long since lost in the annals of time. If you really feel the need to take a test, Gu Ramekins are what all the classy birds are using. And of course, drinking is essential. Sometimes, we even remember to have sex Wink

So don your shag capes and throw your legs in the air caution to the wind :)

Old thread here if you want proof it works!

I have just read over the past 4 pages to catch up with everyone since I last posted - we have been internet-less for the last week.

Nothing much happening here apart from we have stepped up with JSing. We are aiming for every other day and hoping to catch the right time. I have NO idea when I ovulate (and just hope I still am as I am getting on a bit!)

Interesting reading about the amber necklace - I only used some sort of powder with DD1 and can't recall using anything with DD2 as all her teeth just seemed to appear without any lead up!

somethingwittynot · 09/05/2012 22:10

mmmmm i just smothered mint sauce all over my kebab and i dont even like the stuff. and apparantly i dont like bbq sauce anymore as the smell of it made me gag

No JSing here I'm afraid. When someone tells you the house you are about to move into is in "good condition and clean" DO NOT BELIEVE THEM. That is all.......

I have just spent £30 on cleaning stuff to make the place habitable before we actually move in tomorrow. I am strangely displeased that if DH's troops have not done their work already this month (think it may have been too early) then for the next 5 months, any prospective DC could be concieved in what can only be politely described as "basic" Hmm

babylann · 10/05/2012 09:08

Oops sorry topbanana, I think I accidentally reported your post when I was helping dd climb down from my knee, stupid phone. I pressed stop straight away so dunno if it actually went through.

So ertd was weird. Lasted about 3 days and was only present on the tissue. I wore pads and they were all clean on removal Confused then the day it stopped I had very definite ovulation pains, and then had pant snot yesterday. Wtaf!?

Persuasion · 10/05/2012 09:09

something and child thats sounds very promising for both of you.

topbanana how bad is it? Can you manage to live in it as is and sort things as you go?

Well I think I'm out. Had a tiny bit of spotting yesterday then nothing, so convinced myself it may still be implantantion bleeding even though I know its delusional but have had some more today, although not yet quite full ERTD I'm pretty sure I'm done. Feeling surprisingly perky considering. And the plus side is that ERTD should now be finished before Rome on sunday, and tomorrow is the weekend so I'm already planning my Wine

Good luck to those others waiting to test.

gettting our cooker connnected within an hour and wil be making mexican for dinner! Grin

Persuasion · 10/05/2012 13:15

Sorry Babylann, we cross posted! ERTD does sound confusing. Can you get bleeding with ovulation? Maybe you just OVed?

I'm also not entirely sure what is going on because despite feeling like eRTD was in full force I've just had some brown spotting. It's blatantly waiting for me to give up and use a pantyliner instead of a proper pad then it'll flood everywhere. of course this is just allowing me to maintain my delusion that I'm actually pregnant

something yay for the cooker!

Persuasion · 10/05/2012 13:16

Reading that back, I seriously need a kipper! I'm loosing it aren't I?

Hello justshaggers Grin
I've been away from the thread for a few days and having a horrible ERTD.
babylann I had a weird spotting/ERTD around day 19-22 of a 43 day cycle. Could have been anything really but I hoped it was implantation.
I have been trying not to read too much into everything too much but not sure my uterus is very happy so will JS and hope for more luck this month then secretly take my TMI posts to another thread so as not to ruin the JS vibe.

AWomanCalledHorse · 10/05/2012 14:37

Oh top how annoying! Hope it's all sparkling clean (but basic) now!

something, yay for new cooker! We live in a flat so we've only got a leccy cooker, cannot WAIT until we move into a house (in 5+ yrs) and I can have a gas cooker!!

baby & Persuasion hope your ERTD's work out what they want to do soon.

BamBam21 · 10/05/2012 15:31

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't remembered all your names yet, but I'm working on it!Smile

Lovely to talk to you again babylann! I hope you are feeling better now than when I last "saw" you. I guess you must be if you are back in JS mode!Smile We are seriously thinking of TTC again. Not really trying much yet thanks to young Beansprout though, but not not trying either! My older DS (8yrs old) is so delighted with his wee brother, and now wants a wee sister, so we might try to oblige!!GrinWink The problem is that I would really want a girl this time, and I'm a bit worried that I would feel disappointed with another boy. That's awful, isn't it?

I will try to get my head around what's happening on the thread, but in the meantime - yay for new cookers, and boo to dodgy ERTDs!Grin

KickingUpQuestions · 10/05/2012 16:34

Can I join too?

I am the annoying swot who has learnt that if you take your temp, when it increases, you've already ovulated. So that's pointless. And I am bored of it.

That implantation bleeding is rare and happens to 30% of women

That OPK's CAN be very wrong because the spike of the LH hormone could also only be detected over 3 - 4 hour period.

That pregnancy symptoms very generally do not start during the 2 week wait. You would only implant at that point (generally speaking) and symptoms only show up at least 3 weeks after ovulation.

That 70% of women will ovulate before day 10 of their cycle or after day 17 of their cycle. And that 68% of those women will fall pregnant within 6 months.

All that said, I don't chart. I don't do temps. I am bored of OPK's telling me that I am not ovulating when I get ovulating spotting and am so regular, I can arrange my finances around when I get my monthly red demon piece of crap.

That said, I am still on month 8 of trying. I don't know the acronyms. I am 30 years old and worried that my ovaries have turned to baked beans slush. And my husband is probably sick of hearing about all the random (hormonal) symptoms I am getting.

KickingUpQuestions · 10/05/2012 16:37

AND my biggest moment of confusion was last night - I should have demon evil red thing start on Sunday but I have tons of pant snot and apparently, my nether regions are pretty much pointedly keeping my husband out. He said he has no idea what is going on but he has never battled like that before. Even with copious amounts of pant snot.

I need some support... wails

lollypopsicle · 10/05/2012 17:11

kicking, I like the 70% 6mths stat. Im afraid I don't have much advice to give your defensive fanjo in return! Perhaps a stern word?!? or trickery Confused.

We are gearing up for js-ing with abandon, something styley Wink. It's only been 3 cycles but getting impatient now. I need a slap!

banbam, I understand your feelings re wanting a girl. While I would be totally happy with 2 boys I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't be delighted to have a girl.

I've got a smear test next week. Anyone know how/if this affects ttc? Think it will be before ovulation but who knows!?! Figured it's not something I can just put off any longer. Boooooo.

KickingUpQuestions · 10/05/2012 17:18

Well (too much info coming) my like...bits are all engorged apparently. And really swollen inside. My DH said he couldn't actually ahem...get it in? I mean - he did and I was really sensitive and I have loads of pant snot but I am 3 days away from my evil red devil crap thing? I thought you were supposed to dry up and stuff during PMS?

YES! And the 70% stats was actually from a medical journal so it must be true!

Wouldn't have thought a smear would effect TTC at all?

ChildOfThe1980s · 10/05/2012 17:20

Welcome kicking. I did have one symptom before POAS last time- I went up two cup sizes in about a week. Still didn't clock it though.

I am still hiding from ERTD (day 29) but had cramps last night and pretty sure it'll hit tomorrow.

I am so tired. Hope you are all ok.

Sorry lolly, I don't know if smears affect anything. I must be due one soon. Sigh.

I found this:
www.nhs.uk/chq/Pages/1646.aspx?CategoryID=54&SubCategoryID=130

KickingUpQuestions · 10/05/2012 17:30

My boobs feel fuller but that could be PMS.

I should hit tomorrow or Sunday.

I've gone from needing a few glasses of wine at night to not wanting to drink alcohol at all. Wine is in order if that nasty red thing hits this weekend.

Feeling the tired pain as well.

You had BFN?

tiredteddy · 10/05/2012 17:45

Hi KICKING, my ertd (evil red tide of doom) is due to arrive on sat or sun. No sign of any early symptoms so far. Like you info on not expecting symptoms to kick quite yet, here's hoping. Grin

mandasand · 10/05/2012 17:45

hello lovelies! gosh, lots of chat to catch up on! :-)

lolly, can't imagine the smear will affect TTC. I don't know much about it but I think they take some cells from the outside of the cervix so there shouldn't be any interruption for the little swimmers. You may feel sore after, I guess. I'm usually okay after an hour or two. I am a little bit squeamish about smears and then I watch One Born Every Minute and think OH MY GOD how would I cope with BIRTH?!

sorry to hear your new pad isn't all that could be desired, topbannana. but at least it's sparkling clean now, and once you've got your stuff all unpacked it will feel a bit homelier. And you can spruce it up a bit as you go along. :)

yay for new cooker, something.

delighted to report that hugely long ERTD has buggered off for the last two glorious days of our holiday-honeymoon and we have had a BRILLIANT time JSing! Probably too much information to say that we had a little al fresco activity in our secluded private garden but still looking forward to our more British shagging on our return home tomorrow!

So that's fantastic. Nearly caved and bought a cheapo thermometer on Amazon but then had a little think about my hectic work shedule back home and decided to keep JSing, aiming for every other day!

Persuasion · 10/05/2012 17:53

Welcome kicking. I'm secretly pleased that despite knowing all the numbers you are just as confused as the rest of us Grin If you're normally so regular maybe this oddness means you're pregnant?

woman thanks for the support. I really haven't even had enough to justify a pad today, have no idea what's going on!

lolly I think a smear is fine while TTCing, I had mine done when I got my coil out at the nurses suggestion. I believe it can be a problem if you are pregnant, so better to get it out of the way now I think.

child fingers crossed it stays away tomorrow.

Persuasion · 10/05/2012 18:19

More crossposting.

manda nothing is TMI here. So pleased you got 2 nice ERTD free days at the end of your honeymoon holiday, and yay for alfresco JSing!

tiredteddy fingers crossed for you. No symptoms could be a symptom, who knows.

I'm weak, and in boots just bought 2 FRER tests. If ERTD doesn't do something meaningful be sunday, I think I'll test then anyway with one of those even though I know really it will be negative
