Just Shagging - the lazy way to make a baby! Part, um, 8?

MuddyWellyNelly · 27/03/2012 22:38

Over the last year or two we've had a thread for those who are Just Shagging. Confused by OPKs, too lazy to temp, can't read a chart to save your life? Not quite ready to forgo the Wine? Well stick with us!

Of course it's been SO successful that we're down to a tiny handful of regular posters, as everyone else has graduated and we'll ignore the fact that those of us that are left are probably way beyond Just Shagging. But it's an ethos rather than a strict rule. Come and join the fun Grin.

No rules here, other than EWCM is hereafter known as Pant Snot. AF is known as the Evil Red Tide of Doom (ERTD). Viroids is our name of choice, the reason is long since lost in the annals of time. If you really feel the need to take a test, Gu Ramekins are what all the classy birds are using. And of course, drinking is essential. Sometimes, we even remember to have sex Wink

So don your shag capes and throw your legs in the air caution to the wind :)

Old thread here if you want proof it works!

hey persuasion, and glad nothing is TMI (tho that is really as ooh-la-la as our JS gets!) Is a FRER test a preg test? Fingers crossed for you! Wink

tiredteddy · 10/05/2012 19:02

Thanks PERSUASION, hope you are right.

Sounds like lots of POAS / PIAR will be happening at the weekend. My plan is to deliberately not buy any tests until next week to leave it as long as my patience can bear!

lollypopsicle · 10/05/2012 20:31

Thanks guys. I cant really see how it would make much difference to conception other than missing a potential js opportunity as I believe you should abstain from sex 24 hrs before. I just think too much about stuff!

Thanks child for the link, interesting to read Smile

ChildOfThe1980s · 10/05/2012 20:37

I haven't done a test yet - going to hold off for as long as I can cos I don't want to be disappointed by a BFN.

Good plan tiredteddy. I do have one test hiding in a drawer, but will try to ignore it a bit longer.

somethingwittynot · 10/05/2012 21:22

I to have a test hiding away and might of purchased some nhs extra sensitive ones

SunshineandChoccy · 10/05/2012 21:40

Welcome kicking you wrote everything I have been through, tried, freaked out about on my own and to my OH. Oh yes and I'm also 30 and the only clue I have that I even have eggs left is the chemical pregnancy last year.
Now I just want to enjoy JSing again and stop worrying about all the crazy statistics. Fingers crossed you don't get your ERTD
topbanana how terrible of the previous people to leave the flat in a mess but atleast now that you have cleaned it you have the place just the way you like it - bonus
south I can understand on cutting down on the chocolate but it's soo good Grin, when I was in Uni I worked part time for a chocolatier and used to get through huge quantities of chocolate yum yum I miss that

somethingwittynot · 10/05/2012 22:37

im CD27 usally wake up to ERTD so we will wait and see.....

sunshine your welcome! Grin they are pretty cool. well DS is now out of his basket and has gone into his cot

babylann · 10/05/2012 23:14

Bambam! :) No that's not awful that you would really want a girl, I completely understand! I was convinced I was having a boy with DD and was actually quite shocked and secretly disappointed when I found out she was a girl on the scan. I'm thrilled you're thinking of TTC again! That obviously means you're not suffering too much with the newborn phase at least!

I'm definitely doing much better. Having CBT now for my anxiety problems, and finally starting to accept "who I am" and what I've been through in life, all these troubled memories came pouring back in and I started losing my mind a little! PND completely gone, I am besotted with DD and loving my life as a SAHM, not desperately trying to claw my way out of my situation and go to university or get a boring job!

KickingUp, welcome to the thread :) That's not TMI, and I've definitely had similar problems, usually after too much heavy sex.

My symptoms pre-POAS were real, but nothing special. Just normal ERTD styled cramps which meant I put off testing as it didn't cross my mind that I could be pregnant.

manda, I think I would be much more squeamish about having a smear than I was with anything private and pregnancy related, like I had 3 sweeps, for example. By that point I was fat, sweaty, grumpy and desperate (summer 3rd trimester!) and I was VERY eager to get that baby out of me, so I did not care one tiny bit! In labour again, the same dedication to getting that evil thing which is causing your contractions out into the world where it's cute and cuddly will spur you on to handle it just fine!

Good luck for Sunday, persuasion!

And good luck for tomorrow, something :)

MuddyWellyNelly · 10/05/2012 23:31

I've not been around much lately, will catch up one day! But saw babylann and bambam on the same page and it prompted me to say hello Smile.

babylann · 11/05/2012 08:32

I was wondering if you'd name changed Nelly and i's missed it because I haven't seen you around lately. How are you?

BamBam21 · 11/05/2012 09:40

Nelly!! I was the same as babylann and thought you had secretly name-changed! How are you? Enjoying the lovely east Scotland weather we are having at the moment??Smile

Babylann I am really glad you are feeling better now and not so "all over the place". I feel I am perfect for the JSing thread as we aren't actually trying (although not using any contraception) but not actually getting much action either!!Grin

DS2 is just adorable, and really smiling and "chatting" now. He is pretty huge (15lb 4oz at 10 week weigh-in) and determined to sit up. He looks like a wee banana when he strains to get up! Commiserations something, as we are going to have to put him in his cot, perhaps at the weekend, as he is just getting too big for the basket. How old is your DS?

I feel bad that I was disappointed when the scan showed that he was a boy, as I wouldn't change a thing about him now, but I would still love a daughter one day. I told my mum this, and she said that you get different experiences from sons and daughters, and maybe I just wasn't right to have a daughter - WTAF?!

Kicking, I remember being convinced I had a urine infection as I needed to pee so much, and was expecting ERTD any time when I POAS (just because it had become my monthly ritual to POAS, whether there was any chance of a BFP or not!). Also, with DS1 I had a total lack of normal ERTD symptoms when I got my BFP. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.Smile

Oops, long post!Blush I am making the most of DS2 being asleep. He has been choked with the cold all week, and I am knackered!!

KickingUpQuestions · 11/05/2012 09:58

We DTD once this week - so it's not from too much!

I've had urine infections before and there is no burning or itching. Same for thrush. It's definitely not an infection.

SunshineAndChoccy Hear hear! The worst is that I desperately want more than one child and I know it's silly to worry about age at the tender age of 30 (hush hush) but I do worry about the age factor. At least we are in the same boat. When is your AF due?

southlundon Any chance you are in the city and saw the blue skies this morning? Instant good mood. Apologise for the stats. I work in strategy and research so having all the facts helps me. NOT IN THIS CASE! It just makes it worse! AND if we're having x and y symptoms, why are they NOT on the list? ;)

I've gone off alcohol. I used to have wine every night and now, even when I say I will buy some on the way home - I don't. I don't fancy it. I went from making a pact with a mate to try not drink for a week (and FAILING), to just....not wanting to drink anymore

somethingwittynot · 11/05/2012 10:22

Well DS is 15 weeks and weighs a teeny 12lb 2oz compared to his friend who weighs 20lbs Shock well ERTD is due today and so far nothing. If it doesn't come today will give it a few days before a trip to the supermarket to get my self some gu puddings and if its BFN at least I get a yummy pudding Grin

I am very thirsty, I pee a lot, random CM and swelling, tired a lot (gone from being an insomniac to not being able to sleep enough), my legs are STILL tired after my 12km run on Monday (and my hips were very stiff). I am trying not to be excited because my symptoms seem to be small and hormonal based - rather than big and in your face (like breast soreness or nausea). My husband swears I have a line around my nipplage area (I am not sure about that though)...

So I am here because if my AF comes on Sunday, I can get support instead of having to just suck it up and move on.

I am really feeling positive because I don't feel pregnant

tiredteddy · 11/05/2012 11:39

Hi KICKING it does sound like you might be pregnant! So hard waiting to test. I have no reall symptoms either. Felt sick after cleaning my teeth this morning.
SOMETHING I was wondering where you were this morning. No ertd sounds promising especially if you are usually so regular!

somethingwittynot · 11/05/2012 12:21

Yup ever since I had DS its been bang on 28 day cycles noe my bodys gunna throw it about I bet. Still not ERTD but there is still 11 hours and 40 minutes left of the day. However me and DP have agreed when we go to get dinner to buy a pack of first response tests just incase ERTD doesn't arrive.

KickingUpQuestions · 11/05/2012 12:22

tiredteddy Funny - I am erring towards if you genuinely spot very little or small symptoms, then you have a higher likelihood? I am just trying to keep myself positive.

You ladies are lovely. I am hearing EXACTLY what I want to hear! :D
My DH is now very excited because I've relayed what you've all said. He said he can feel that I am very hot as well. My temp is higher than normal. I am from a hot country originally so I shouldn't be hot in this kind of UK weather

I'm hot to lol was always hot when pregnant with DS. Could mean nothing though. All the constant checking my pants is certaintly making me active instead of just sitting on the soafa moping abouyt having ERTD. Wonder when its going to dicide to turn up?

KickingUpQuestions · 11/05/2012 13:58

Nope not ill either. Definitely not ill :)
