Just Shagging - the lazy way to make a baby! Part, um, 8?

Over the last year or two we've had a thread for those who are Just Shagging. Confused by OPKs, too lazy to temp, can't read a chart to save your life? Not quite ready to forgo the Wine? Well stick with us!

Of course it's been SO successful that we're down to a tiny handful of regular posters, as everyone else has graduated and we'll ignore the fact that those of us that are left are probably way beyond Just Shagging. But it's an ethos rather than a strict rule. Come and join the fun Grin.

No rules here, other than EWCM is hereafter known as Pant Snot. AF is known as the Evil Red Tide of Doom (ERTD). Viroids is our name of choice, the reason is long since lost in the annals of time. If you really feel the need to take a test, Gu Ramekins are what all the classy birds are using. And of course, drinking is essential. Sometimes, we even remember to have sex Wink

So don your shag capes and throw your legs in the air caution to the wind :)

Old thread here if you want proof it works!

Hi ladies. I'm so bad at this, I keep forgetting to post at least I remembered to JS

Dreaded ERTD turned up today! Am in 2 minds about it though as obv not pregnant but it does mean that I'm ovulating so hopefully I'm getting back to some form of normalish cycle.

somethingwittynot · 08/05/2012 16:37

flying ive had bad heartburn to wich i only ever get when im pregnant...... probably means nothing in my case

i had sharp pains in my left boob yesterday Grin think im tricking myslef into weeing more as that was my first symptom with DS without realising it thought i had UTI. i had hyperemesis with DS do not want that again!

mandasand · 08/05/2012 17:20

sorry to hear about your achey nipples, south - ouch! I have no idea if that's a sign or not! hoping it is, and your bad heartburn something :)

thanks for the honeymoon wishes, woman and flying! :) we've just got in from a mountain bike ride down and up a massive hill. what with the canoeing yesterday i feel I'm starting to work off something of the mountain of cheese I've consumed the past week and a half!

i'm blooming' confused about my ovulation date. last month was a 20 day cycle and I'm having an extra long period which is showing no sign of stopping. I used the MN ovulation calendar and I should be ovulating now, mid-period, if my current cycle is 20 days long. Is it actually possible to release an egg whilst you are ERTDing?! Maybe it's all a bit hypothetical if my body's still sorting itself out. Anyway, nevermind! I guess the point is to keep JSing and not obsessing!

tiredteddy · 08/05/2012 18:15

Hi MANDASAND canoeing and mountain biking sounds rather hardcore! Fun too! I would not assume that you next cycle is 20 days as it will probably vary a bit as your body settles down. I had 18- 28 days when I came off the pill and now average 26 so give yourself some time to settle into a pattern. I don't think you can ovulate whilst on ertd, but may be wrong. Hope it ends soon then you can js when you get home. Hope this helps Smile

caramelgirl · 08/05/2012 18:19

Oooh, bambam BIG CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Was idly wondering when your BFP would be born! Hope that your big boy has adapted well to big brotherhood. Sounded like he was v excited back when was tiny bump. And yes, nelly , josie and baby , do like hearing how it's all going!
Long time lurker here- nothing since a m/c last year. Now am not v JSing type , am post HSG and just hoping to be in same town as DH by mid cycle!!
Sounds like the young blood are doing pretty amazing jsing feats tho'. Exhausting!
Good luck to all!

Derbyborn · 08/05/2012 19:56

Evening all, DS is snoring away in bed and the dinner is in the oven so thought I'd catch up on a few posts.

mans very jealous of your wonderful sounding honeymoon. I'm currently sat watching the torrential rain Envy.

No real update with me. ERTD was due last Wednesday so now 6 days late, 4 x BFN, horrid cramps and general grumpiness.

Did anyone do anything fun over the bank holiday weekend?

somethingwittynot · 08/05/2012 20:15

we froze over the bank holiday weekend and am still freezing.

mandasand · 08/05/2012 20:35

agh sorry to hear you're still without a working boiler, something. hopefully it will be fixed tomorrow? can't be fun ?

hello derbyborn! is it still raining back home? well, at least we don't have to worry about our allotment drying out! if it's any consolation it has rained every day in the dordogne apart from three glorious days!

thanks so much for the advice tiredteddy. having done a bit of reading i think JSing every two days should cover all bases without worrying about the precise science of ovulation. it's difficult not to get a bit obsessed about it tho! it's funny, now that we've stopped umming and ahhing and decided to try for a family I want to fall pregnant straight away! :)

Persuasion · 09/05/2012 07:05

something that's very annoying, when are they coming to fix it?

Enjoy your last few days manda - yesterday was quite nice here but it's raining again now.

I caved and tested this morning Blush. Think I'm 11dpo, it was negative, although if I squint sideways I can delude myself there is a shadow of a line I know it's too early because it's a cheap Internet test and only 25miu.
I tested because last night I felt properly ERTDish but nothing came, and now I feel a bit nauseous, so have no idea what's going on. I am now going to be strong and wait until Sunday to retest

AWomanCalledHorse · 09/05/2012 08:00

Persuasion, flying holding out for a BFP for you both!

Was going to JS last night but made the mistake of watching the Great Ormond Street documentary (she says welling up), and it kinda gets you out of the mood.

something hope it gets fixed asap. How great that it happened the first week in your first family home. Grrrrh!!

manda, you're making us all look bad! On our honeymoon the most intensive thing we did was walk up the stairs to our hotel room Grin

I think I've got an ingrown toe nail.....NICE.

SunshineandChoccy · 09/05/2012 08:29

Hellloooo Grin can I join in???
I have been following the thread for a while now, feeling too shy to add my two cents to the just shagging.
My OH and I (more like the OH feels too much pressure to deliver the little swimmers during ovulation) have been taking the super lazy route to Jsing after the chemical pregnancy last year (a week before our holiday). So I'm looking forward to a more positive way of dealing with the lack of JSing Smile
something you sound like you would make a fun younger sister!!

babylann · 09/05/2012 09:09

Bambam! I have wondered how you've been getting on. I think I even mentioned you earlier in the thread! I can't believe you have your little boy now Grin Feels like just a few months ago that you were on this thread. Congratulations! Thinking of having any more?

Welcome SunshineandChoccy :) Of course you can join in!

somethingwittynot · 09/05/2012 09:24

welcome sunshine ill be your JSing little sister Grin

so the boiler man called me yesterday, told me he was going to ring round again and then nothing. i have already called twice. my £40 next order came yesterday and they mucked that up Sad but DS amber necklace came so that was probably the highlight of the day. Hoping the jumperoo or first mothercare order comes today! Grin

ChildOfThe1980s · 09/05/2012 11:58

Hi sunshine and hope everyone is ok.

Well, I am on CD28 and no sign of ERTD, although have had 30+ day cycles before. I was sick this morning. As long as there's no sign of ERTD, I will test on the weekend.

Bound to be nothing, will not get excited.

tiredteddy · 09/05/2012 12:20

Hi SUNSHINE nice to meet you!

SOMETHING, my friends little boy has one of those amber necklaces and she's swears by it. I hope the jumperoo comes next that does sound like fun.

ERTD is due at the weekend. Not really feeling pregnant or noticing any signs. I admire your patience PERSUSION hoping for a BFP for you on Sunday. CHILD bring sick sounds good in a weird way, might be a sign? Fingers crossed its morning sickness and not a tummy bug. HORSE ouch about the toenail.

Hi everyone else, Grin

Hello sunshine!

(unexcited) Fingers are crossed child, and for you tired!!

something, DS's favourite teething toy is my thumb. Now he's got a tooth he can (and does) break the skin). Fingers still crossed for boiler repair asap.

I'm going swimming tonight and have just tried my cossie on. I hate my post baby tummy....if I get pg asap I won't have time to get in shape this time around, another reasons to aim for JS as much as possible!!

somethingwittynot · 09/05/2012 14:38

i have heat and hot water and warmth! woman im totally with you on the post baby body im now a ten but was a 6/8 pre DS but its more saggy then anything can almost tuck it into my knickers. Another reason to get pregnant sp that beauitiful bump can stretch all the skin out though i dont really get big in pregnancy

somethingwittynot · 09/05/2012 14:45

ohhhh no jumperoo clothes or blw book yet :(

SunshineandChoccy · 09/05/2012 17:36

Yeahhhh I feel so welcome already thank you everybody for the super warm welcome. Thank goodness work is finished and I can go home. I always feel like I'm escaping a maximum security prison Grin
south fancy a hot chocolate Brew instead?
babylan why thank you
something terrible repairman for not sticking to his visit!!!! I would be fuming and ranting at my OH and then use a super polite voice to the repairman!!!
Fingers crossed to everyone waiting for ERTD not to arrive

SunshineandChoccy · 09/05/2012 17:41

Oh yes this is a stupid question Blush but why is an Amber necklace a good thing? Sorry I haven't got wee ones yet so I am clueless about what it's for.

somethingwittynot · 09/05/2012 17:46

amber necklace IMO is GOD. They help with teething the amber has healing properties meant to reduce pain and stress im seeing a major improvement in DS.

In the corner or my front room i now have a jumperoo! Grin really really want an adult one though as soon as i had put it together DS went to sleep :(
