Just Shagging - the lazy way to make a baby! Part, um, 8?

MuddyWellyNelly · 27/03/2012 22:38

Over the last year or two we've had a thread for those who are Just Shagging. Confused by OPKs, too lazy to temp, can't read a chart to save your life? Not quite ready to forgo the Wine? Well stick with us!

Of course it's been SO successful that we're down to a tiny handful of regular posters, as everyone else has graduated and we'll ignore the fact that those of us that are left are probably way beyond Just Shagging. But it's an ethos rather than a strict rule. Come and join the fun Grin.

No rules here, other than EWCM is hereafter known as Pant Snot. AF is known as the Evil Red Tide of Doom (ERTD). Viroids is our name of choice, the reason is long since lost in the annals of time. If you really feel the need to take a test, Gu Ramekins are what all the classy birds are using. And of course, drinking is essential. Sometimes, we even remember to have sex Wink

So don your shag capes and throw your legs in the air caution to the wind :)

Old thread here if you want proof it works!

Persuasion · 04/05/2012 19:31

Thank you all for the Rome tips! I'm very excited now Grin we've been wanting to go for ages, and have eventually got around to it. And I'm testing the day we go if no ERTD by then, so could be double excitement I refuse to think about the Italian cheese wine etc I won't be able to have if I am pregnant

Welcome captain. I've found JSing is keeping me sane, which keeps DH sane, which means JSing more! and I don't tell him about my crazy symptom spotting and PIARing

mandasand · 04/05/2012 20:07

hello everyone!

so, not only do I have ERTD on my honeymoon but now I've caught DH's sodding man flu (i.e. a cold!) Peeing down in the Dordogne all day today so we've been huddled round the woodburner and eating soup. Very nice, but could be doing this at home!

thanks for the funny knicker story, topbanana! i know what you mean - i have favourite socks and I like it when they are washed and have actually made it back to the sock drawer :-)

nice shopping spree, something!

welcome captain! what about a back / full body massage? I find it useful (for both me and him) when one / both of us is stressed and not really in the mood. i find we only need to do it for 5-10 mins before things turn frisky! ;-)

somethingwittynot · 04/05/2012 21:43

welcome captain yeah registered me and DS. DP can sort himself out.

woman are you coming to sittingbourne tomorrow? please come!

want DS jumperoo to be here now they look ace!

anyway off to JS Wink Grin

somethingwittynot · 05/05/2012 14:21

im gunna be gay here but i had to share this

captainmoll · 05/05/2012 14:51

Aw, shucks, thanks for all the welcomes and tips. mandasand we used to do loads of sexy massages back in the early days Got out of the habit somewhere along the line. I reckon I'll def try to start that up again. Wink Sorry about ERTD on honeymoon - I had that too. So annoying! In fact, it always seems to coincide with our very rare holidays. Naughty womb.
Persuasion enjoy Rome, it is really amazing - best thing to do is just get lost and wander around side streets, full of surprising places.

Having the weirdest ERTD - now on CD 41, it turned up yesterday very half-heartedly and seems to have gone away again now. I'm normally 30-33 days and pretty regular so this is really quite freaky. What I'm finding most worrying is that the three months we've definitely JS'd at exactly the right time, I've had these abnormally long cycles (37, 38 and now 41). I've always tested negative, but I'm worried I'm having some freaky very early MC's or something.. This time round I was in the States for a month so I'm trying to persuade myself the time-zone shift has messed things up as this option is the least worrying. Has anyone else experienced similar? Might just blame the supermoon!

bugoven · 05/05/2012 18:40

captain I have had exactly the same messed up cycles since TTC which weren't an issue for years before. Also light bleeds, spotting, all new. I am not an expert at all but pretty sure I have seen/heard/red that only 1 in 8 conceptions goes on to be a known pregnancy let alone a successful one. Hope that doesn't sound hopeless, as people are getting pregnant and having babies all the time having forgotten about or not noticed the complications and waiting they had to go through to get there and I am sure that you, I and all the other JSers will get there Smile

Hi everyone, can i join in?
This is the thread I hoped existed, but never found until now - all the talk of temping, charts, tablets and guff on the other threads makes me go a bit crosseyed at the thought! ETRD - perfect - much better than AF - I hate 'AF'!

DH and I have been actively TTC for 7 months now and stopped using the pill and started just 'seeing what happened' for a few months before that iyswim - had early MC in January (on my 30th birthday, no less!), starting to get a little impatient even though we both know it's still very early days, but thankfully still enjoying Jsing without making it just about baby making!Grin

somethingwittynot · 05/05/2012 21:42

welcome tia

well i overcame my shyness hurdle today and went to a MN meetup! [girn] had a lovely time and would deffo do it again!

JSing tonigght! weehheeeey! Grin

somethingwittynot · 06/05/2012 09:57

so i have no heating no hot water and no gas and a 14 week old Sad

AWomanCalledHorse · 06/05/2012 10:33

hi Tia! Sorry to hear of your MC. :(
late hello Captain

something, great. Just what you need on the Bank Holiday. Hmm Have you called out the boiler man? DS will be fine without any off that, as long as he's kept warm so try not to panic about it. Hope it gets sorted asap.
How was it at Nickelbooks?

Frak, dammit PIAR..and PYR (post your result).

mandasand, another who had ERTD on honeymoon. Hope you both enjoy it as much as you can. Our massages never turn frisky, DH normally falls asleep. Grin

Maybe we'll JS this week?

mandasand · 06/05/2012 10:39

hello tia! I'm new here too. just about getting the hand of the acronyms! sorry to hear about the MC on your birthday. but glad to hear you're still JSing with intent! yay!

really interesting to hear the 1 in 8 statistic, bugoven. I'd love to know more about that. such as, is there anything we can do / not do to encourage things along? I'm trying to take it easy on the booze and to lose a stone (neither very successfully). I'm about a stone heavier than I should be owing to 10 months spent working in America in 2009-10 (portion sizes, sedentary lifestyle, etc). I've always turned to jogging when I need to lose a bit of weight. the first bit comes off easily but then it's hard to maintain. i always go sunday mornings after JSing (+lying down a bit!) and there seems something inherently wrong with encouraging the little swimmers to go find the egg, and then going jogging which might distract them from their purpose!

anyway, any hints and tips for improving the 1 in 8 statistic gratefully received!

go captain with the sexy back massages! also, what about starting orally to capture his attention and then moving on to JSing? (sorry if this is getting a bit too x-rated for some!)

mandasand · 06/05/2012 10:46

just seen your posts, woman and something. bloody boilers always seem to go on bank holidays! looking on the bright side, at least it's not the middle of winter. hope you can get it fixed today, or have nice people locally you can go and use showers, etc. thanks for the honeymoon wishes, woman. we've still got six days left, counting today, so hopefully ERTD will bugger off ASAP :-) Hehe, perhaps you need to keep him talking during your massages?! Not all ours turn frisky but it's nice when they do :-) Happy Bank Holidays JSing, everyone! It's still raining here in the Dordogne, but a friend of a friend is picking us up to go out later which will be nice (we've no car).

somethingwittynot · 06/05/2012 12:20

okay so i rang the emergancy maintance line there based in bristol Shock hes rung round everyone one of their men in kent and they all dont have the part Sad hes waiting on a call back from folkestone thats our last hope other wise it wont be getting fixed till tuesday Sad

im cold. i have thick socks and duvet and a big mug of tea. DS has vest babygro and is swaddled with fleece blanket on top. am thinking about a hat? will have to JS to keep warm! Grin

captainmoll · 06/05/2012 14:06

Good plan to keep warm something! Sometimes it is the only solution - having spent the best part of two years doing our little place up, I'm something of an expert on no-heating situations.. Still living in a building site now with just one little electric heater doing its best!
Thanks for the info bugoven. I wonder if it's not partly psychosomatic - you know, you so desperately want not to have a period because it means you're preggers, so somehow you stop it happening.. I dunno. I wish there was just a little light that came on instantly somewhere, or a microwave bell. "Bing! You are now pregnant!"
Hello tia thanks for the Wine. Sorry to hear about your MC. GOOD LUCK for the next round!
