Just Shagging - the lazy way to make a baby! Part, um, 8?

MuddyWellyNelly · 27/03/2012 22:38

Over the last year or two we've had a thread for those who are Just Shagging. Confused by OPKs, too lazy to temp, can't read a chart to save your life? Not quite ready to forgo the Wine? Well stick with us!

Of course it's been SO successful that we're down to a tiny handful of regular posters, as everyone else has graduated and we'll ignore the fact that those of us that are left are probably way beyond Just Shagging. But it's an ethos rather than a strict rule. Come and join the fun Grin.

No rules here, other than EWCM is hereafter known as Pant Snot. AF is known as the Evil Red Tide of Doom (ERTD). Viroids is our name of choice, the reason is long since lost in the annals of time. If you really feel the need to take a test, Gu Ramekins are what all the classy birds are using. And of course, drinking is essential. Sometimes, we even remember to have sex Wink

So don your shag capes and throw your legs in the air caution to the wind :)

Old thread here if you want proof it works!

Jumping on the 'no sleep' band wagon. DS has also been ill the last few nights so he's been in and out of our bed like a yo yo. Totally knackered.

To top it, I'm pretty sure ERTD is just around the corner as had some spotting today and generally feel it. Pretty gutted this month, fancied a January baby. On the plus side, I'm not going to waste a stick on a BFN on Friday AND I'll enjoy a few drinks and a child free overnighter at this wedding. A rarity!

DogEared, your thread about your DS made me feel very sad. Bless him. Not an easy situation to deal with for either of you.

Well, topbannana I am loving the 'may day' idea. I also thought that "pushing you into a bush" was some kind of euphemism?!?! So those 2 posts have cheered me right up, Ta :o

DogEared · 01/05/2012 20:53

Thank lollypop. It was horrible. But at least it made us have the conversation about what to do if people are mean...
The 2ww is already dragging. I kind of enjoy babymaking for obvious reasons :o but I also kind of hate it... I feel like my life is on hold. Anyone else?

lollypopsicle · 01/05/2012 21:04

flyingsprocket, hello Grin

DogEared · 01/05/2012 21:11

May I take the prize for most ridiculous symptom spotting?
The dog made a mess, and whilst picking up his crap in a crap bag, I thought "oooh! This is turning my stomach! This may mean I'm pg!" :o :o :o
Ooooor... It could be because I was handling warm dog shite?!

Dysgu · 01/05/2012 23:14

Dogeared yes, that is quite some symptom spotting! But then, it does seem that every twinge, cramp or moment of nausea makes so many of us think/hope it could be a symptom.

Anyway, ERTD arrived today - so it seems my cycle might be 26 days! I have never counted before but I now have two little stars on the calendar to keep track.

Waiting to see if Fletch gets a BFP - I agree that December/January birthdays might not seem ideal but then, we take what we can get! DD2 was due on Jan 29th and arrived on December 24th and will probably moan about her birthday when she is old enough to know anything about it.

Actually, DD1 moans about hers - she used to want to be earlier in the year so that she could have started school with her friends; now she wants to be later so that her birthday could be around now when two of her best friends have theirs. I told her you just don't get the choice - she was due Nov 4th and arrived Sept 10th so there is no guarantee that mine will stay 'in the oven' for the duration anyway!

Planning on getting more JSing in this coming - although have just got back from my writing group and DP is fast asleep so doesn't look like we would have fitted in a MayDay shag anyway.

tiredteddy · 01/05/2012 23:26

DSYGU that's my mums birthday too, dec 24th! It's a bit of a tricky one, we always make sure we do something not christmassy to celebrate.

I'm into the 2 week wait now I suppose but going to keep JSing just in case. I was symptom spotting last month when eRTD was rather late. Going to try not to this month just wait and see.

Fletch1 · 02/05/2012 09:00

Well ladies, it is official - first month of JSING has paid off with a pink line!

Feeling a bit shocked at the moment. We had both assumed we would have at least a few months of 'fun' before it happened but it was obviously meant to be!

For those of you with chidren already, when did you tell them they were going to be a big brother/sister? I'm quite superstious and was going to wait until after the 12 week scan - would you do the same?

AWomanCalledHorse · 02/05/2012 09:14

Grin oh big congrats Fletch!!

DogEared! That's hilarious!
Have just read the thread about your DS, hope he is feeling more himself soon. x

bugoven · 02/05/2012 09:39

dogeared I was sick last night and actually it was probably travel sickness but my OH got excited so he's symptom spotting for me.

fletch well done! Like passing your driving test first time.

topbannana · 02/05/2012 09:40

Grrrr, typed a long post which has quite spectacularly vanished for no reason (and I would have been the first to congratulate Fletch!) So once again, congratulations Fletch :)

horse the bush did hold my weight, mainly because I was wedged by my knees which prevented me from toppling right over the top. It was not elegant :o

Well the MayDay shagging didn't happen, the man lurgy was in full swing and DH was curled up in a heap muttering and sweating to himself. I even threatened to leave him for Bear Grylls (who I'm sure never gets man lurgy) but as I have threatened this many times in the past he only said "pah!" so I was left with the Hairy Bikers (which is not the same really) He assures me that this wanton neglect will be rectified tonight so we will see, perhaps hes getting worried about Bear Grylls after all :o

babylann · 02/05/2012 09:40

Congratulations fletch! I'm sure we will all willingly have a Wine in your honour this weekend!

Well we JSd last night and there was a tiny bit of blood.. Not sure why as no ertd followed, and have had no symptoms of it at all. DP wants me to test again this weekend but decided to wait an extra week.

flyingsprocket · 02/05/2012 09:40

fletch that's fantastic news! I hope plenty of us will be following you soon

dogeared picking up warm dog poo would make any of us symptom spot!

How was everyone's mayday fertility antics? OH & I will sleep in the same bed for one night out of the next 5. Our jobs kinda make it all logistically difficult!

babylann · 02/05/2012 09:41

Cd46 now. My phone app says I should be back in my ' fertile period' tomorrow :p

Fletch1 · 02/05/2012 10:46

Thanks everyone :)
So good to be able to come on here and chat about it since we can't tell anyone yet!

Oh, just realised, does that mean I have to say goodbye to all my new friends already and move on to another post ? :(

Wishing you all as much luck as I have had!

Dogeared, we have an abundance of birthdays already in December/January so was hoping to space this one out a bit! Depending on what site I look at, I'm due anytime between 1st January and 5th January! I was exactly a week early with DD1 so hoping I'll be a bit early this time too. Although I really hope it's not 25th December!

AWomanCalledHorse · 02/05/2012 13:58

Bloody ERTD started on the bus. So glad I was wearing black trousers....now in PJ's. It's 2 days to our wedding annivesary, I hate the ERTD.

topbannana, hope DH recovers from his deadly man flu soon...Bear Grylls has a mooosive nose, I think you'd be better off JS DH.
I don't suppose seeing you in your bush kneeling sexy pose has helped to seduce him back to health?

baby, hurrah for fertile period! Could the wee bit of blood be DH being a bit vigorous?

Fletch, I'm sure everyone else will be happy to have you hanging around! Gives us all an excuse to talk about baby stuff. Like names...I think Horse is a great, strong unisex name Grin

flying, hope you make the most of that 1 night! I gave up shift working as DH & I were never in at the same time (think we had one evening a month together for quite a bit).

Persuasion · 02/05/2012 14:04

Congratulations fletch - looks like the others have moved onto the grads thread, so you are not alone at all, and hopefully we'll all be joining you soon Grin

babylann I have no explanation for you but humbly suggest you just keep JSing until something definitive happens!

dogeared you should definitely win some sort of prize for symptom spotting! I've also begun although am trying hard to keep telling myself it's in my head. Depending on when I ovulated (in true JS style I'm not really sure but have it down to around a week) I'm 4 to 7dpo. I'm having all sorts of ERTDish cramps, although it's much too early. And I keep feeling that flooding sensation although there's nothing there. I realise this is probably in my head but need to share otherwise I'll drive DH mad!

something )ou've been very quiet, is all ok? Or are you just preoccupied with moving?

babylann · 02/05/2012 14:22

I'm not sure AWomanCalledHorse. I'm a bit worried about DP to be honest... He's not had his usual "stamina" lately. He's been complaining A LOT about being tired, and JSing is literally lasting a few minutes before he collapses on top of me and just does the bare minimum to finish. It's scaring me :( His mum has something wrong with her, she doesn't know what yet as they haven't been able to diagnose her (it's been going on a few years and involves her being very tired and shaky most of the time), but she's got a disability card for the car and gets disability allowance so it's definitely something - they think MS or something along those lines.

DP is complaining of tiredness and painful joints. He's only 24 so I'm hoping to god its something to do with lifestyle which I can fix. He's only been complaining for the last fortnight or so. Our lifestyle is shit really, from a health point of view... Diet is alright, we eat varied and relatively healthy, but I know he also eats a lot of junk food between our healthy meals. It's fitness that lacks... We barely do any exercise, we are gym members but haven't been since we moved house for lack of time. But worst of all is sleep - he must get about 5-6 hours at most on any single night, usually less and never more. Even our Saturday lie ins aren't actually lie ins as we make up for it by staying awake even later ("ahh we get a lie in tomorrow, so may as well stay up to 4am").

I'm terrified Confused Having health anxiety probably doesn't help, but I just feel a sense of doom whenever I think about it. So I've started "Project DP" to fix him, sorting out the most nutritious meal plan ever (and multi-vitamins!), filling him up with salad and fruit and veg and such at lunch time.. And getting us to bed at 11:30pm at the latest so he gets his 8 hours! And back to the gym this weekend. Must fix him even if it's just so I can stop worrying!

Priscillaqueenofdessert · 02/05/2012 16:09

Congratulations Fletch

I went back to the drs today after an ultrasound to test for pcos and turns out I may have ovulated after all. Am going back Friday for a 21 day blood test to double check but hopefully this means things are moving in the right direction for me.
Luckily I managed to jump DH every chance I got so fingers crossed that I don't get the ERTD and get a BFP instead :)

Heres hoping crosses everything she has just in case

babylann · 02/05/2012 16:33

That sounds like great news Priscilla, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you too :)

DogEared · 02/05/2012 17:02

babylann Your plan for your DH sounds great! My DH loves junk food as do I and not very fit neither am I . I have found that if I feed him salad or soup he will eat it and then have a sandwich/bag of crisps/cake later on BUT! I have found a way! I make healthy food but nice food- stuff like fajitas with lots of veg, curry with lots of veg, lots of spice and herbs. That way, he doesn't feel as though he's missing out on nice food...
Fletch Oh my! Well done you! Congratulations! That is bloody brilliant. Do you feel weird?
My DS1 was 4 when I got pg with DS2, and I took him to the scan and told him then. Looking back, though, that was a bit stupid (what if something had been wrong?) so if I get pg again, I probably won't tell until after the scan. Also, he told EVERYONE so unless you don't want everyone to know, keep shtum... :)
Persuasion I have been exactly the same as you today, convinced that ERTD was coming, having cramps and gusset checking and I'm not due on for another week! However, I did get AF-like pains when pg with the last two, so it means nothing. I'm trying not to think about it all.

This was a conversation I had with DS1 in the co-op:
DS: Mam, do you want more babies one day?
Me: I dunno. What do you think?
DS: Yeah! Babies are cute and I'd be like a giant to a tiny little baby.
Me: Yes, it would be nice.
DS: I think you should give Dad special kisses ALL THE TIME and pray and pray...

:o :o :o

somethingwittynot · 02/05/2012 18:18

well TBM went ace! by half 8 we were sat down to dinner and a glass several of !!

our squeaky new sofa arrived today as with the fridge/freezer however need some brainy gas man to come and do our cooker. already christened our bedroom that was some good sex.

i have very sore boobs hurts to walk down the stairs and im very tired

tiredteddy · 02/05/2012 19:52

So here goes, firstly congratulations to FLETCH what brilliant news! This is a good thread to be on. I think we told ds1 after the scan and showed him the picture, he was only little 2.5 so not sure he really took it in for a while. TOPBANANA has the man Kyrgyz gone yet?

FLYINGSPROCKET your shifts sound a bit tricky that must make it very hard to JS.
BABYLANN how are you? That cycle is really long. Your plan for your DH does sound really good, I think we could do with a bit of a healthy regime at our house really. I had a big operation last November which I had been getting super healthy in preparation for. Just to make myself feel better. I was good food wise til Xmas but since then have slipped back into comfort eating Sad

DOGEARED your little boy sounds lovely what he said to you about babies. My boys have a few friends with babies and keep telling me they would like one just to add to the pressure I'm putting on myself!

PRISCILLA it sounds like your docs are good and looking into everything. And you ovulated yay!

SOMETHING really glad the big move went well for you how nice to be in your own place ! I'd give you wine and flowers for your new home but cant see those buttons!

Hi everyone I've missed x

babylann · 03/05/2012 09:29

Glad the move went well something :)

Thank you teddy, just can't tolerate my big strong DP being so tired and weak that he can't even last the full duration of sex! It's not like we are even used to big long sessions, we both like it to be quite quick Grin

I think he's just a bit depressed, he's always been depressive (was on ADs when we met) and isn't happy with the stress of life piling up on him, he's already very busy at work and three colleagues have just announced they're going part time, on top of him giving up smoking and dealing with a lot from his family...

As for me, I'm quite positive ERTD is here today, some weird brown stuff has been leaking from me this morning and now I'm getting those same old feelings.

My friend has just shared her secret special news, pg with dc3 - her baby is only a few months old so I don't envy her that, but it did make me a little more eager for my own!

somethingwittynot · 03/05/2012 09:30

awww thankyou!

think i might be " that neighbour you can hear having sex through the wall"

have no hower ticked the bedroom the lounge and the kitchen off the to do list.

had insomnia last night and a hunger i just couldnt get on top off. i am obviously pregnant.

mandasand · 03/05/2012 09:52

hello ladies!

been away from the internet a bit (on belated honeymoon - we got married last summer but had a family bereavement just beforehand, so we're only just getting around to having a holiday-honeymoon!)

perfect for lots of JSing, of course, but - damn - just this morning got some spotting :-( This is only 20 days after the first day of my last period, and that was my first period after three years on the POP injection and pill. I used to have 28-day cycles, so I guess this 20-day cycle is just my body getting back into a rhythm? A bit dispiriting, but as long as I'm (hopefully) ovulating I shouldn't complain!

nice to catch up with all your news! laughed at the sex-in-a-bush escapade and hurray for fletch!
