Just Shagging - the lazy way to make a baby! Part, um, 8?

MuddyWellyNelly · 27/03/2012 22:38

Over the last year or two we've had a thread for those who are Just Shagging. Confused by OPKs, too lazy to temp, can't read a chart to save your life? Not quite ready to forgo the Wine? Well stick with us!

Of course it's been SO successful that we're down to a tiny handful of regular posters, as everyone else has graduated and we'll ignore the fact that those of us that are left are probably way beyond Just Shagging. But it's an ethos rather than a strict rule. Come and join the fun Grin.

No rules here, other than EWCM is hereafter known as Pant Snot. AF is known as the Evil Red Tide of Doom (ERTD). Viroids is our name of choice, the reason is long since lost in the annals of time. If you really feel the need to take a test, Gu Ramekins are what all the classy birds are using. And of course, drinking is essential. Sometimes, we even remember to have sex Wink

So don your shag capes and throw your legs in the air caution to the wind :)

Old thread here if you want proof it works!

Yes the first sunny day here in over a week. I was very glad to do the school run without getting soaked. Sounds like you are really organised SOMETHING. I'm impressed, we were still packing on moving day when we came here.

Persuasion · 30/04/2012 18:57

Yes, it's lovely here too, so nice after a week of rain. We're usually still packing the day AFTER moving day! And then there's all the cleaning. I advise recruiting as many relatives as possible. Grin

babylann · 30/04/2012 19:01

Also loving the weather. Went to my therapy appointment, nice weather to walk the 5 collective miles there and back, and had a stroll around town. Bought me and DD some new clothes and did a bit of food shopping. Overall an active, productive day.

Shattered now though!

We are quite in the groove with our JSing right now, despite the missing ERTD still not having made its way to its destination. Have to admit it's been a bit painful last few times; almost like I'm bruised inside. Could that be a uti? I've never knowingly had one but I can't think what else it could be.

Derbyborn · 30/04/2012 19:57

Evening all,

How is everyone tonight?

I'm sat watching OBEM with the worst cramps I can remember, convinced ERTD is well and truly on its way (due Wed/Thurs). Please ladies cheer me up with horrid cramps and BFP tales.

Anyone else due/testing soon?

lollypopsicle · 30/04/2012 20:29

Well, Derby I definitely had ERTD type cramps in the week i got a BFP last time. I thought it was really weird how 'period' like it felt. DS is now 16 months so definitely wasn't a period in the end Grin.

Well I made the most of the weather by teaching tag rugby this afternoon (i have never played a game of rugby in my life, incidentally!) I'd have rather been on a nice walk with DS though Sad.

somethingwittynot · 30/04/2012 20:48

baby it could be that your DP is hitting your cervix maybe? i know when my DP hits mine as i feel bruised and get a sharp pain in my lower back.

went and did a months food shop of cupboard supplies with the PILS cash Grin god bless them.

DS is a teething monster anyone want a 13 week old until he cuts a tooth?

DogEared · 30/04/2012 21:32

I also had very bad ERTD-style cramps when PG with my 2DC. Also that feeling that you have started bleeding- I kept rushing to the loo, and wore a sanitary towel for about a fortnight (not the same one. I'm not manky or anything)

Derbyborn · 30/04/2012 22:19

Thanks lolly and dog "not the same one" very funny!

I suppose only time will tell.

Dysgu · 30/04/2012 23:13

Hello everyone - life just seems so hectic right now. I wonder if I will manage to go part-time if/when DC3 arrives. There just seem to be so many plates to keep spinning...

Am loving catching up with everyone here though and really like all the different containers that are being so useful in ways that their manufacturers had never considered!

ERTD is due on Thursday (I think). That is going on 28 days - I have never counted days as I always just 'know' when it is about to happen! So, looking on the bright side, if ERTD turns up then at least I will know how long my cycle is and can then 'plan' accordingly to jump DP at the right times.

Having said that, DD1 and DD2 seem to be passing a cough/sick bug back and forth between them. I cannot recall the last time we were not up in the night with one or other of them and it has been a week of musical beds here with all 4 of us just sleeping wherever (which usually means I end up with a child who has been sick coming into bed with me and DP gets the bed that has been sick in (but which has been cleaned/changed!)

DogEared · 01/05/2012 07:49

I know what you mean Dysgu. Sunday night, DS2 was sick in bed, so I was up for hours. Last night, he fell out of bed, so I was up for hours. DS1 has started wetting the bed after an incident of bullying last week ( See here My poor wee lad :(
And the ratdog has been shitting and pissing in the house every night, nearly. So tired doesn't really cover it. This morning DH ate the last of the bread for toast, so I have no bread for packed lunch. I am in a crap mood, and I plan to watch Cupcake Wars on the food network all day, and (yet again) stuff my face.

topbannana · 01/05/2012 09:18

dogeared I feel your pain wrt the bread but I have the perfect solution for you.
At the moment DH is feverishly collecting tokens for a wooden planter to grow herbs in, from bread wrappers. Sadly its brown bread with all manner of seeds and other floor sweepings in which we only eat when we are absolutely desperate (the birds are doing really well recently) Funnily enough I now never find there is no bread left though admittedly what is left is shit Wink

bugoven · 01/05/2012 09:52

topbanana that's my favourite type of bread! Ha ha! Still sounds quite funny.

stickle I am really feeling for you with you house of sick and other bodily fluids. I have two kittens joining our family next week. It's just me and my DP in a big 3 bed house do need to start filling it up and as have failed to produce humans thought they would act as a cute and fluffy distraction.

Bought some pregnancy tests (hopefully my last expensive ones as have ordered cheapy dip sticks from amazon)at my local Asda pharmacy and got a free conception/pregnancy goody bag. The tiny nappy was a bit much and made me cry but baby wipes, folic acid & book all good.

bugoven · 01/05/2012 10:15

Oh also BFN this morning, CD 40!

Fletch1 · 01/05/2012 12:35

EEK!
As I mentioned my first post on here, we only started TTC this month and thought we would try JSING and see what happened - well, I am now 4 days late - surely it hasn't happened first attempt! Going to do a test tonight.

Kind of freaking out a little bit as I had myself convinced I didn't want a December/January baby but looks like I don't have much choice!

Also starting to panic about morning sickness (as an emetophobe this is a terrifying thought for me). I didn't suffer at all with my DD1 so fingers crossed this one will be the same.

Did everyone else's 2nd pregancies go much the same or were they different?

tiredteddy · 01/05/2012 13:09

FLETCH that sounds like it could be exciting! It's very possible you could be pregnant first month of ttc, I was with DS2! I'll be watching for updates on the POAS/ in a ramekin tonight Grin

Fletch1 · 01/05/2012 13:54

Thanks tiredteddy :) I will keep you all posted...

AWomanCalledHorse · 01/05/2012 14:18

eep! excited for you Fletch. one handed typing as ds is grabbed onto my other hand.

boo on the bfn bug!

Persuasion · 01/05/2012 14:39

dogeared what happened to your DS sounds pretty horrible. Sounds like you handles it well, but I guess bedwetting isn't surprising. Is still pretty upsetting though, for you as well as him I suspect?

topbannana · 01/05/2012 17:40

Apparently MayDay is a fertility festival, there is a dance and everything. Should really have done some research earlier in the day, hopefully if I just jump DH and mutter "MayDay, MayDay" under my breath that will do the trick (and hopefully he won't get the wrong end of the stick and phone an ambulance or anything else dramatic :o)

Persuasion · 01/05/2012 18:04

topbanana you just actually made me laugh out loud. Not ideal as I'm sitting outside on a park bench with lots of people around - I'm getting some funny looks!

tiredteddy · 01/05/2012 18:20

Ha ha ha TOPBANANA that's brilliant! Shall we all jump our respective DH/ partners and mutter "mayday mayday" think of all the BFP's that could bring in! Grin

flyingsprocket · 01/05/2012 18:36

Room for a new one? I've got some Wine for everyone!

I'm brand new to all of this, just started ttc and this JSing sound perfect for me. I'm slowly learning the acronyms and really am not up for temps and charts etc. JSing is good for me!

Having not had any ERTD for 5 years due to contraception I had my first 3 weeks ago, we've been JSing with gusto since. I'm not used to having a cylcle so I'm already translating any rumbles and cramps to possible pregnancy Hmm Also have no idea yet how long my cycle is!

I've read the whole thread and am excited that there's already a couple of BFPs.

Can't wait to hear your result Fletch

topbannana · 01/05/2012 18:42

Hmm DH walked in through the door from work and announced he had a headache (before I had mentioned May Day or any devious plans I may have in mind)

Must be bad as he had 2 Nurofen which is quite unusual but he just pushed me into a bush so must be feeling better (or he may have twigged to the May Day shag-fest Hmm)

I should add we were discussing whether the bush would hold our weight if one of us were to fall off the decking so it was all relative, rather than a random act of domestic violence/ bush vandalism.

bugoven · 01/05/2012 19:06

persuasion I have had a couple of long cycles as a teenager and while under a lot of stress but they were all good at about 26-30 days for a few years with 6 weeks pill taking last year. Had a 50 something day cycle as was possible having a cp Jan/Feb but this is the first extra-long-and no-bloody-need-for-it cycle. I had some spotting around days 19-22 but definitely not ERTD. Who knows - not me. Will keep testing every few days and hope for a BFP.

AWomanCalledHorse · 01/05/2012 19:33

Welcome flyingsprocket! Thanks for the Wine

topbannana Grin Did the bush hold your weight?

I had no ERTD in April. Hurrah? Maybe?
