Just Shagging - the lazy way to make a baby! Part, um, 8?

MuddyWellyNelly · 27/03/2012 22:38

Over the last year or two we've had a thread for those who are Just Shagging. Confused by OPKs, too lazy to temp, can't read a chart to save your life? Not quite ready to forgo the Wine? Well stick with us!

Of course it's been SO successful that we're down to a tiny handful of regular posters, as everyone else has graduated and we'll ignore the fact that those of us that are left are probably way beyond Just Shagging. But it's an ethos rather than a strict rule. Come and join the fun Grin.

No rules here, other than EWCM is hereafter known as Pant Snot. AF is known as the Evil Red Tide of Doom (ERTD). Viroids is our name of choice, the reason is long since lost in the annals of time. If you really feel the need to take a test, Gu Ramekins are what all the classy birds are using. And of course, drinking is essential. Sometimes, we even remember to have sex Wink

So don your shag capes and throw your legs in the air caution to the wind :)

Old thread here if you want proof it works!

Goodness, I have a quiet weekend JSing away from mumsnet, and there are pages and pages to read!

lolly I think I'm going to give that exact answer in future when people ask about children, it made me lough audibly on the train!

I have no preference really for due month, February is not ideal because we have lots on that month but even than I wouldn't mind that much.

Sounds like everyone had a good weekend. I had a small breakdown of tears for no apparent reason on saturday but now I feel much better, and had a lovely time out at a country fair yesterday. And DH said he's a little disappointed I wasn't pregnant last cycle, has made him realise he really wants it, which makes me so happy after spending so long persuading him it is a good idea and now is a good time!

Persuasion · 23/04/2012 19:05

topbanana I completely missed your saga. Sounds pretty horrible to be honest. I had a crying breakdown for no reason at all on saturday, you're definitely allowed one for that.

Hope you're feeling perkier soon.

AWomanCalledHorse · 23/04/2012 19:28

something we went for pale green in DS's room, as we didn't know what we were having.
Big sympathies on the teething, DS started at 3wks..too young for anything but teething granules & he was a nightmare, thankfully we can pump him full of teething gel now!
5 vests for £5(!) I must get down to ASDA, if it doesn't rain tomorrow.

Top, surely he is happier with you being honest & staying away than attending & not being able to hide/lie about your feelings atm?!
You're welcome to my first ever fertility boosting, JS randy-making, DH-will-forgive-you (hug), it comes with Brew or Wine. Hope you feel better soon. x

Frak, dammit! If you don't test soon I'm coming over to steal a GU ramekin full of your wee. I can only cross my fingers for a BFP for so long!!
Thank you for the admiration, haven't tried it on yet...DS has been in a vomit mood & I'd like it to be nice for a little while longer.

Persuasion, sorry you had a crappy Sat (although country fair sounds nice), glad DH is so upbeat & pro-JS. I shall jump Dh's bones in a little, just want him to kip whilst DS is sleeping.

DogEared · 23/04/2012 20:24

Really thinking about you tonight top. Sounds horrible. I think it was far better for you to stay at home than to go and risk bursting into tears at your stepdaughter's place. You were being unselfish.

Frak TEST NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWW! (or alternatively, wash your greasy hair :o )

Persuasion It's great that your DH is sharing in this with you. My Dh is the same- Only last week he agreed to ttc DC3 and now he's cooing over babies and babygrows...

Feeling a bit dodgy again tonight... Eaten crap all day, that may be it. Don't know if I should still JS, don't want to puke all over my lovely husband's face mid-JS :o

somethingwittynot · 23/04/2012 20:36

woman go! go now! the baby event is on! were going a sort of deep yellow in DS room its really bright and airy and hes got cute beams in there Grin

thinking of you top . Both DP brothers have babies on the way, july and november. its been a baby boom in this family this year! not to sure what i will be like when they are born though Confused

its the week to JS here so im not letting DP rest Wink

PricklyPickle · 24/04/2012 07:22

morning ladies. Its a day of knicker checking for me. cd29 of a 28/29 day cycle. i don't feel like anything is happening down there, but i'm sure I'll be spending the day going back and forth to the loo.

Dexidoo · 24/04/2012 07:51

Hi all
Day 31 here of previously 25-27 day cycles (coil out Jan). I do not feel PG and don't want to POAS yet, I'm procrastinating waiting with Frak!

somethingwittynot · 24/04/2012 09:16

im due to ov on the 27th. having DS has given me bang on time 28 day cycles excellent for planning DC2!

topbannana · 24/04/2012 09:21

Thanks everyone, kind of back to normal here today. DH was actually very nice when he got back last night (I should point out that he is normally very nice but does get slightly bemused by random behaviours) I think its the first time its really hit us how important this actually is, working on the maternity ward I had convinced myself I was in some way bomb-proof. It was more the thought of having to watch DH cradle a newborn baby that got me, slightly unreasonable when you consider its his own grandchild Hmm

horse I think it is better that I was honest, shame really it was while lieing on the floor wailing and gnashing my teeth rather than in a grown-up and sensible conversation :)

prickly I feel your anguish, its about time here too (unsure due to a complete lack of ability/will to keep track of my dates correctly) and I have all but given up paying attention to the bizarre symptoms my body has taken to throwing at me ("you're pg you're pg, you're pg. HAHA, only kidding!" Angry)Its entirely possible I could be one of those women in denial who suddenly gives birth to a full term baby, all the while completely denying the fact I am pg Wink So I am with you in the shuffling back and forth to the loo all day, punctuated with deep scrutiny of my trollies- there is no dignity left in my life anymore :o

AWomanCalledHorse · 24/04/2012 09:57

No sign of ERTD. although I did dream I had it. Odd..
Didn't JS either last night.

I know I can't complain, because we've only been trying for 4 months...but when you're told by GP/MW 'don't even breathe near your DH as you're SO fertile after a baby' it's a bit demoralising..if that makes any sense?

Top, glad DH was ok! I don't envy you having to work around new babies all day, you seem to be dealing with it well (wailing on the floor is dealing with it well where broodiness is concerned)!

babylann · 24/04/2012 10:39

hey all :)

Tested yet Fraktal!?

Still no ERTD... Hoping I'm not back to my 90 day cycles... Feeling baby kicks of course, as is natural on cd 37!

Persuasion · 24/04/2012 18:25

I think we need to start chanting at fraktal (especially now your hair is greasy) and dexi - get testing the pair of you!

awoman and dog it's especially good as DH really wanted to wait another year but I badgered him into starting now against his better judgement.

babylann 90 day cycles sound horrific, hopefully ERTD will come soon so you know where you are.

I think I'm due to OV around now, but have no idea really. Do have some pant snot even though I can't believe I just wrote that and have had some twinges. But the twinges are both sides, and with the coil in it always alternated sides, so not sure if I'm OVing from both sides or not at all probably not at all with my luck either way we JSed last night and it was ahem rather fun. Then I had dreams I was pregnant and woke up all warm and happy. I'm not symptom spotting pre-OV, honest Grin

AWomanCalledHorse · 24/04/2012 20:00

What is pant snot? Is it different from normal everyday foof discharge?
Persuasion, glad the badgering worked! Here's to OV-ing! Glad the JS was rather fun, it's crap when it becomes just ttc.

Dexi, lettuce know when you're going to POAS!!

babylann Shock at staying sane on a 90 day cycle!

I POAS earlier, BFN. Will bring one away with us this weekend so I can test before I get pished on Saturday night.

lollypopsicle · 24/04/2012 20:25

Ooooh, seems like there's a lot of folks about to POAS or should I say PIAR?? Exciting stuff!

Horse, i believe pant snot is the js-ing term of choice for CM, especially of the egg white variety.

babylann, I feel fake baby kicks too.

top, it must be really hard for you having to deal with the new baby. Stay strong, your time will come. Also, that baby won't stay so baby like for long. As you well know, they have a habit of growing far too quickly

PricklyPickle · 24/04/2012 21:14

Fraktal Woman will you just PIAR and put us all out of our misery.

Still no ERTD for me, but on the plus side running to the loo every half an hour to check the pants situation is a great way to keep fit.

StuckInTheFensAwayFromHome · 25/04/2012 10:15

Hello all! Just read about 2 pages and am also wanting to know the outcomes of POAS - (What is PIAR?) Would be lovely for someone to get some good news...

Been busy at home, trying to find a job and gardening. Plus the 'little things to get organised' thread has inspired me to sort out the house as well, so I've been staying away from too much internet and mumsnet!

In theory I think its the right time for JS at the moment, but I spent yesterday digging in garden so was too shattered last night! However today is a day for chilling and I am intending to 'jump on' DP later on when we get back from some errands.

somethingwittynot · 25/04/2012 11:46

theres only one night i havent jumped DP since ERTD. Im now CD 13 so wil def be jumping him tonight Grin

ChildOfThe1980s · 25/04/2012 12:55

I am CD 14 today so do you reckon I should OV soon? No sign of it yet. I have a 29 day cycle usually, though it has been as long as 35 days in the past.

My close friend told me that she is (very newly) pregnant yesterday. I am actually very happy for her and don't feel jealous, just that I'd like to join her in the club.

I have been feeling tearful too. I had a little cry over a TV scene of a mother lion licking her cubs the other day, lol.

somethingwittynot · 25/04/2012 13:06

i used to have a 29 day cycle but never had a clue when i ov. its fairly obvious now. get the classic pant snot and want to shag my DP at every available moment Grin

Fletch1 · 25/04/2012 13:07

Hi everyone
We have only this month decided to start trying for number 2 - we have a 4 year old girl already. It's been a big decision for us - we are both only children so are a bit wary of the dynamics of having multiple children!. And also I suffer from emetophobia so the thought of morning sickness terrifies me (I was very lucky with my first, wasn't exactly planned so didn't find out until I was about 8 or 9 weeks, and had no morning sickness at all).
Anyway, we've decided to just see what happens so there is no pressure on either of us. Due my visitor anyday now so will see ...

ChildOfThe1980s · 25/04/2012 13:12

Welcome Fletch1. Wishing you all the best!

Something, yeah that's pretty much my symptoms too. :-)

AWomanCalledHorse · 25/04/2012 13:26

Can I ask a stupid question...with the cycle thing is Everyone more fertile in the middle of their cycle?
Finally JS last night (first time in almost 2 weeks), and my ladybits are feeling fine today, hurrah!!

Welcome Fletch! Wishing you all the best, can I ask why you both decided this month?

Child, I cried at a rubbish mum on Jeremy Kyle earlier Blush Cannot believe I've just let the world know I watch Jeremy Kyle.

StuckIn, Good luck with the job hunt! Very Envy at your day yesterday, love gardens but we live in a 1st floor flat.

Fraktal · 25/04/2012 14:24

PIAR is pee in a ramekin. Way back when (about 2 years ago) JSers discovered that angling a stream of wee into a stick was too difficult and unreliable. At a similar time there was The Ramekin Thread wondering what to do with all those Gu ramekins which result from eating desserts. Obvious answer is pee in them Grin

Vizzini · 25/04/2012 16:51

Just checking in. Think I'll be OVing this weekend so the JSing has started to ramp up a notch!
Good luck to all those waiting to test - fingers crossed for BFPs!

somethingwittynot · 25/04/2012 17:00

vizzini were on similar cycles :)

woman nothing like a bit of jezza with your morning cuppa and a squashed bacon sarnie in the morning.
