Just Shagging - the lazy way to make a baby! Part, um, 8?

MuddyWellyNelly · 27/03/2012 22:38

Over the last year or two we've had a thread for those who are Just Shagging. Confused by OPKs, too lazy to temp, can't read a chart to save your life? Not quite ready to forgo the Wine? Well stick with us!

Of course it's been SO successful that we're down to a tiny handful of regular posters, as everyone else has graduated and we'll ignore the fact that those of us that are left are probably way beyond Just Shagging. But it's an ethos rather than a strict rule. Come and join the fun Grin.

No rules here, other than EWCM is hereafter known as Pant Snot. AF is known as the Evil Red Tide of Doom (ERTD). Viroids is our name of choice, the reason is long since lost in the annals of time. If you really feel the need to take a test, Gu Ramekins are what all the classy birds are using. And of course, drinking is essential. Sometimes, we even remember to have sex Wink

So don your shag capes and throw your legs in the air caution to the wind :)

Old thread here if you want proof it works!

congrats cup! hopefully ill be joinng you soon. did anyones ERTD get worse after giving birth? im booking an appt with the doc to hopefully get something for it but this is sucky! roll on BFP and 40ish weeks of no ERTDs!!!!

lollypopsicle · 15/04/2012 22:36

My ERTD got a lot more painful after birth. I used to read how contractions were like period pains but worse. I really didn't agree...until my ERTD returned. It was like labour had woken up nerve endings that didn't know they could let me know about period pain until then Sad. Now I agree that contractions are like the ERTD pains I NOW get.

Grrr to the human body!

lollypopsicle · 15/04/2012 22:37

Also wanted to congratulate Cup Smile

StuckInTheFensAwayFromHome · 16/04/2012 07:22

Wow lots to catch up on...
Impossible to namecheck everyone on the phone but good to hear everyones news - and well done Cup, hope it all goes well...

Can I join the people on ERTD gloom - mine hit on Saturday (4 days late!) which was rubbish timing as I was packing up and moving flat. DP has been remarkably sympathetic this time, must have sensed that I was secretly hoping even though I knew it was unlikely. In an oh so subtle way (not!) he is now aware that there will be plenty of JS next weekend!

Lots to do today so I should get on (but might MN till 8!) - need to do my company accounts and write a new CV - maybe I'll MN till 9!

Vizzini · 16/04/2012 17:00

Something my first period after having DD was the most pain I've ever experienced. Labour was much less painful. I fainted, I was throwing up and it was truly dreadful. I was on max dose of every painkiller I could find. Truly horrific.
ERTD didn't return until DD was one (was still BFing but less frequently). They are still bad now but that first one . I have endo so they have always been bad.

somethingwittynot · 16/04/2012 18:23

We will be moving into our first family home on the 1st of may! Grin

AWomanCalledHorse · 16/04/2012 18:32

Having a teething baby kinda puts you off ever having sex again!!!
Had really bad stomach cramps all Saturday night, expected ERTD to pop up, but no.

StuckIn, hope packing up the flat still went ok? Even with ERTD!

Vizz, how did you find out you've got endo? I've got awful, heavy, contraction pain-esque periods but an ultrasound/physical examination of ladybits showed nothing...

Yay Something! How far away are you moving? (noticed you started a Kent meet up thread, I'm in North Kent)

Fraktal · 16/04/2012 18:46

Oh cripes viz. I hope JSing gets me upduffed before ERTD returns.

Hurrah something hope the move goes smoothly.

stuck bah for ERTD but get your shag cape on for next weekend!

we'll all be PIAR daily using fertility monitors next.

Persuasion · 16/04/2012 18:46

I'm so behind, have been keeping up with you all but finding it hard to do on my stupid phone. So here is the catch up:
Congratulations cup!

welcome dog and beach!

awoman I have no idea what's going on. ERTD would be due today, but isn't. I dunno if that was it, on Friday, or not. Will just have to wait and see.

stuckinthefens and something sorry ERTD got you. On the plus side, you know where you are and can get all positive for a new cycle!

tired I'm going to join you with no idea what's going on. I have loads of symptoms (vivid dreams, nausea, strong smells, headache, tummy cramps, one day of bleeding 10DPO but no ERTD today when due) but think they're all either in my head or down to the mirena removal. Think I'll test friday so I can definitely have a drink, and keep JSing anyway.

And had a crap day at work, may just have a drink tonight too!

tiredteddy · 16/04/2012 19:00

Congrats to something, how lovely your own family home! More space for future family members.

Persuasion, day 33 for me today the longest ever. I had light spotting this morning and nothing since. Think ertd may well be on its way now Sad never mind though. It's frustrating though as I really was starting to think I might be upduffed! It's so easy to convince yourself about symptoms isn't it? I think I read too much into stuff I normally would feel and ignoreBlush

Persuasion · 16/04/2012 19:20

Exactly that. I'm sure I usually feel all this stuff and just ignore it. This is theoretically cycle 1 for me, and I'm already loosing it!

Persuasion · 16/04/2012 19:46

Ahhh, posted too early, I meant to say don't lose hope yet, it's not over til it's over (and then there's wine) Wink

Vizzini · 16/04/2012 19:51

AWoman it was diagnosed when I was 21. I'd always had bad periods but i started having a dull ache all month. I had a laparoscopy to diagnose as it can't be picked up on scans or anything else. I was treated with hormones and then went on the pill. Luckily it didn't stop me conceiving DD so I'm hoping it won't this time either.

tiredteddy · 16/04/2012 19:58

Persuasion, cycle 2 really for me. Teetering on madness! Oh but the wine, a very good point indeed and I am going out on fri and sat so there's always a silver lining. Here's to pfp's in may! Grin

Derbyborn · 16/04/2012 20:28

Hi everyone,

I've been lurking for a while but only joined MN today Smile. Please may I join your lovely thread?

Congratulations Cup such wonderful news. Let's hope you start a roll of BFP's!

I stumbled across this thread and it instantly felt like home Grin. I'm far to lazy to do temps and charts and tbh just shagging can be quiet the effort after a long day at work, a husband to look after and a small child to entertain - maybe thats why nearly 2 years in we are still waiting for that BFP.

Anyhow, we decided that it really is about time to get cracking so, some weight has been lost, a little less wine is being drunk and lot more 'just shagging' is going to happen to increase our chances - wish me luck!

somethingwittynot · 16/04/2012 21:12

woman hey neighbour! im moving from tonbridge to the outskirts of maidstone yup plenty of space for more bambinos! 2 double bedrooms and a single havent quite told DP my plans yet Wink he thinks its one more i want loads more Grin

weve got to pack up my stuff from my parents and then our stuff and DS stuff from our room at the inlaws. i never knew moving was so expensive!!! total cost is about 1700 Sad

DS just did an epic fart as i typed that. obviously what he thinks of that! Grin

at least when we start our next cycle of JSing we know we will have room for the new DC when him/her arrives.

Dysgu · 17/04/2012 00:59

We are in the middle of our 'best' week this month - but DP went out with his mates this evening and headed straight to bed when he got in so is snoring away! Not looking like any JS tonight then!

I am off out tomorrow evening - will be lucky to catch him still awake when I get home (TB fair - he does have to be up at 5am for his commute to the work on the mainland) so unlikely to JS then either!

Fitting some shagging in around everything is proving tricky this month!

tiredteddy · 17/04/2012 07:59

So ertd has actually arrived after the longest cycle I've ever had. At least I'm ok for wine this weekend! All set for JS next week. It's def much harder to fit it all in these days I agree. DH is often at work late, I'm tired from running around after my two boys. Also we are actually more sociable than we used to be so out more and have people visiting more often too.

DogEared · 17/04/2012 09:09

I totally get those of you who are seeing symptoms because you're ttc! I am on cycle 1 but we tried for DC2 for aaaages. My periods are very regular (to the hour!) but they would get later and later as I just willed them not to come. I must be more chilled out this time!!!

Where do you live then Dysgu?? Your username makes me think that we come from the same place... :)

babylann · 17/04/2012 11:14

on my phone so just a quick one :)

ERTD due today. Been having cramps n such so thought it was a write off, but woke up today completely symptomless and still no sign (usually wake up bleeding). Also had a dream last night that I got a BFP! On a digital test, which said 5-6 months Grin oh out would be divine to skip the first two trimesters but due to my lack of bump, I don't think it's very likely... A girl can dream though.

Decided I'll test on friday if there's still no sign.

Hope you're all well and jsing like... Well, I can't think of a simile that isn't crappy or too dirty. Just have lots of sex!

somethingwittynot · 17/04/2012 15:57

woman are you going to the sittingbourne meet up?

well ERTD was very short and so JSin commenced last night! and shall continue.....

ive told DP were even JSing when hes on nights and getting in at 6.30 in the morning no matter how tired he is! Grin

AWomanCalledHorse · 17/04/2012 16:30

Have had a bastard uti since saturday...gah, still no sign of ERTD either, so na shagging for me :(
We're going away for our wedding aniversary next weekend so sods law says it will turn up then...anyone else have ERTD pop up on awkward days?
Mine came on the first night of honeymoon, think I cried a little!

Frak, Blush sorry for preseed talk, I'd never heard of it!!

Thanks for answering Viz, think I'm going to get back to GP and see if they'll try something else for my crappy periods.

Welcome Derby!

Wine to everyone on ERTD, babylann, great dream! I had a dream last week we had another boy!!

something, haven't decided yet about Sittingbourne, depends on DS.

Persuasion · 17/04/2012 16:53

I'm so pleased the rest of you are just as delusional as I am about pregnancy symptoms. [Grin]

awoman uti sounds horrible. Any chance it could be a sign of pregnancy though, especially with late ERTD? My ERTD also used to turn up at unwanted times (pre-hormonal contraception). It's current specialty is turning up when I am just starting the commute and miles from a loo, it's very unpleasant Sad

Welcome derby sounds like you'll fit right in!

something you clearly have a lot of stamina! Oh to be young again... Although I have been promised JSing tonight Wink and on a weeknight too Shock

Happy JSing all...

somethingwittynot · 17/04/2012 17:45

i might be a tax hyped on the sex drvie Blush hope DP can keep up Wink
though if DS didnt sleep through id be fucked-in the tired sense Grin

woman im taking DS and his nappies and food andshit etc with me :)

Fraktal · 17/04/2012 19:56

Well... I've been feeling bloated and nauseous, I have a slight headache and have had vivid dreams the last few nights but my hair, which looked like I'd gone head first into a deep fat fryer with DS, is normal.

Given that I have no ERTD to miss when do I test? Wink
