Just Shagging - the lazy way to make a baby! Part, um, 8?

MuddyWellyNelly · 27/03/2012 22:38

Over the last year or two we've had a thread for those who are Just Shagging. Confused by OPKs, too lazy to temp, can't read a chart to save your life? Not quite ready to forgo the Wine? Well stick with us!

Of course it's been SO successful that we're down to a tiny handful of regular posters, as everyone else has graduated and we'll ignore the fact that those of us that are left are probably way beyond Just Shagging. But it's an ethos rather than a strict rule. Come and join the fun Grin.

No rules here, other than EWCM is hereafter known as Pant Snot. AF is known as the Evil Red Tide of Doom (ERTD). Viroids is our name of choice, the reason is long since lost in the annals of time. If you really feel the need to take a test, Gu Ramekins are what all the classy birds are using. And of course, drinking is essential. Sometimes, we even remember to have sex Wink

So don your shag capes and throw your legs in the air caution to the wind :)

Old thread here if you want proof it works!

Also x-posted! Busy thread tonight!

Thanks for all the advice but I always wipe down already and it still doesn't feel like enough! Not just that, but the next day... Say we JS at night. DD is in bed next to the bathroom so I can't shower, and obviously I do "the man thing" and fall asleep straight after sex anyway. Then I wake up in the morning, DP goes to work about 10 minutes after I've woken up (no time for a shower then) and then DD keeps me occupied til 1pm when she naps, again, I can't shower next to her. I have to wait til DP gets home from work before I can wash. I spend the entire day feeling icky. Sometimes I'll have a quick check and I'll actually be dry, but I'll feel like it's been oozing out of me all day. I hate it.

I guess you can tell I have some real issues with, erm, male fluids.

I can't even conceal it! Must be a bit of a mood killer for DP, when he withdraws post-orgasm, I shudder (sometimes with "blurhghghgh" sound effects) and quickly reach for something to wipe myself with. We also always do it on his side of the bed, don't want the ickyness on my side!

somethingwittynot · 14/04/2012 00:18

i broke a bone in it a couple of years ago. it was a nasty break diagonal and the split in half. its been aching and burning recently and its tender over a spot that sort of grates together when you rub over it Envy

somethingwittynot · 14/04/2012 00:31

mine resembles a saggy old tigers wrinkled but hole. its all puckered in around my belly button thus butt hole belly button. And stretch marks hit me big time. its a sad sad affair.......but fuck it. i like cake to much to do anything about it Grin that being said though i only put on a stone with DS and i craved yum-yums Confused

babylann · 14/04/2012 00:32

My cousin and his DP had a lot of scans too. She would post a picture up every week or two! Although I certainly didn't envy them, as they were having so many scans because the doctors were concerned, I did think all pregnant women should have more scans.

I had the two normal ones, and then a growth scan close to the end because I was too fat going way off the scale of the growth chart. They couldn't find anything wrong though, she was supposedly expected to be "below 8lbs" (born at 9lbs 3) Grin

somethingwittynot · 14/04/2012 00:49

DS mesured teeeny all the way through until my last scan where he was estimated at 8lb 6oz he came out a perfect 7lb 9oz and 20 inches long. he is now just under 3 months weighs just under 13lbs and is 23 iches. takes after his mum in her skinny days

Dysgu · 14/04/2012 09:01

Hello everyone. We have had family staying with us this week so not much JS or MN going on around here.
I have just read back the last few days on the thread to catch up with what has been happening.

Nice to see a fellow APer fraktal - although DDs are now 5 and 3 so we have moved on a bit. Actually, this week we have finally said goodbye to nappies - although hoping to get a third use out of them if this JS is successful! We coslept even after I stopped BFing. (We didn't get very far with that as my milk didn't come in due to early/quick labour so was on Domperidone both times but still only got them to their due dates.) TBH it would probably be quite nice - and quite handy as far a JS goes - if DD1 would stay in her own bed more often throughout the night. She generally makes an appearance 3 or 4 times a week to share our bed still; DD2 OTOH moved into her own bed before she was 2yo and has rarely returned to our bed! I know I am biased, but I do think they are two of the easiest going DCs I know - DD1 has honestly never had a tantrum; DD2 has but gets over it quickly and they are just so easy.

I do worry sometimes that DC3 could upset the balance and easiness...

We also do not discuss DC3 beyond JS - we do not discuss names or buy anything (we gave away SO much stuff as we though we were stopping at 2DC).

Hope everyone else is well.

Vizzini · 14/04/2012 09:42

Hello all. Well ERTD is due tomorrow and there's a distinct lack of symptoms over here so I'm guessing I'm out. I couldn't resist the cheapy Asda tests and did one at 11dpo and got a BFN. I had a lot of cramping last week but it's died off now. I'm having vivid dreams but I do have a sore throat/temp so I'm putting it down to that.
I noticed that the last few months I've had really bad OV pains. It feels like really dreadful stabbing pains that last a whole evening. It's only happened since stopping BFing DD. I suppose it's good to help timing the JSing but they are so bad that I wouldn't be able to JS on O day itself!

lollypopsicle · 14/04/2012 20:08

Vizzini, that sounds miserable. I believe I can feel ovulation but it's more of a niggle than a pain. Poor you.

I had a dream last night that I looked pregnant but I thought it was just a food baby. Someone suggested I take a test but I didn't have one so they recommended I pee on a calculator instead (?) as they are just as effective at detecting pregnancy...Hmm

Vizzini · 14/04/2012 20:56

Lolly the pains are bad but at least they only last a few hours. It's just another motivation to get pregnant sooner rather than later!
Your dream made me laugh! It'd be even more expensive to test if we had to POACalculator (unless they were reusable)!

tiredteddy · 14/04/2012 21:07

Lolly, that dream sounds so hilarious. I did actually laugh out loud!

Viz, I don't think I can feel ovulation. I hope the pains you get do pass quickly as that sounds a real mixed blessing. Good to know what's going on but not good to have such discomfort.

My cycle is up to 31 days now. Very long for me, averagely 25/26 days. I think I have had crampyish pains for the last few days. No sign at all of ERTD. I normally have a migraine the day before the (sorry TMI) pinkish cm. have had neither of these symptoms yet. However I'm not really feeling any pregnant type symptoms either. Who knows what going on but it's starting to make me frustrated.

CupOfBrownJoy · 14/04/2012 21:12

Hello again all.

I bowed of the thread a couple of weeks ago as ttc was sending me mentalist (see page 1 Smile ). I had a Big Chat with DP and we agreed to get our July wedding out of the way and start again maybe at Christmas...

... except we had that conversation 48 hours too late, and I got a bfp this morning! Grin

I just hope it gives people a bit of hope as we'd (only) been trying 7 months and I was getting to the point where I really needed a break. Break came... and lo and behold I'm pg!

I have also had no symptoms whatsoever. Nothing. In fact I've drunk a load of alcohol over Easter and even smoked a little bit Blush

So, I just wanted to say keep trying!!! Hope my bfp is the start of many Smile

Vizzini · 14/04/2012 21:34

Hurrah! Congratulations, Cup! What lovely news. Do you already have a dress for the wedding that will need to be altered/changed? What an exciting year you will have!

MuddyWellyNelly · 14/04/2012 21:44

Congratulations cupofbrownjoy Grin our first BFP of this thread! Only 7 months, what's your secret Wink.

lolly that's a very funny dream! I have a phone app that "tells" me when I'm ovulating, and I bet it's only a matter of time before you can actually pee on them!

dysgu your girls sound lovely. I can understand why you'd worry, but you've clearly done something well twice, chances are you'll manage again :)

As indicated above, ERTD got me yesterday. I'm drowning myself in Wine. There are some consolations, I suppose Hmm

Josie are you there, what is the news? Have been keeping everything crossed for you.

AWomanCalledHorse · 14/04/2012 22:24

Congrats Cup!! Have you worked out EDD? Hope you have a nice, calm, stress free pg!

Lolly I lol-ed at your dream!! Calculators are probably cheaper than sticks!

Viz, sorry you're feeling cack.

tired hope you know what's going on asap. I think ERTD is coming, had stabbing pains in my right side all day.

dysgu yay! Good riddance to nappies!

something, I crave yum-yums all the time..pregnancy I didn't crave anything although I went off chocolate Shock I've got 2lbs to loose before I'm back to pre pregnancy weight, I put on 3 & a half stone, my mums first words to me (when DS was 1wk old, after not seeing her for 4 years, my choice) were 'Oh. You've still got a pg tummy' Angry

baby, had a bit of a think about your situation; do you use lube? I find on the times we use lube the man ick 'falls out' alot quicker/easier, how about using a baby wipe?

Hope everyone has a super shaggy sunday!

CupOfBrownJoy · 14/04/2012 23:01

Thanks everyone Smile

I did the MN due date thing and it has come out at 19th December - a fab Christmas present!!

One thing we did differently this cycle was I used preseed properly for the first time. Could be a coincidence but......

I have a wedding dress but luckily it empire line, chiffony and very drapey. As I'll only be 4 months I'm hoping to get away with it. I'm praying my boobs don't go mental though as its just be taken it at the top.... going to ring the dress lady next week after we've seen the GP and have a chat about it.

I'm so excited!

DogEared · 14/04/2012 23:37

Hello! Can't quite believe I'm typing this... But can I join??

Just this morning, DH put his arms around me and said "I've changed my mind. I think we should go for a third child. Otherwise we'll both regret it." HOOORAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!
We have 2 DS (6 and 2.8). I have always wanted 3 DC, DH was unsure because of money (we are comfortable now, we'd have to tighten our belts with a DC3 but it would be doable) and his age (50). But I wept we talked last night and really talked it through. So yaaaay! Lots of sex for meeee! :)
DC1 was conceived within a month: DC2 almost 2 years. I got a bit weird with ttc the second time (obsessive) so I have to chill out this time, and just enjoy the ride as it were. :o

Also wanted to say congrats to CupOfBrownJoy. Fab! I was the same with DC2- I went to the GP and got a referral to a specialist, and whilst waiting for an appointment, we decided not to really try because something was obviously wrong. That's when my little boy was conceived. :)

AWomanCalledHorse · 14/04/2012 23:50

Cup, words of advice from someone with a DS born 21dec...have your Christmas early this year, or you'll get to April & suddenly notice a pile of presents in the spare room still wrapped Blush
VV,excited for you...have you started telling people in RL or will you do a Lily Allen and tell people on the wedding day?

I've just amazon-d PreSeed...there is a whole lot of crazy ttc stuff out there

Dog!! Welcome & go DH! What a sweet way to tell you he wants more, although you should be shagging not MN at this hour, bad ttc-er! Grin

I think ERTD is coming, cramps in my right side so I can't fecckin sleep.

Fraktal · 15/04/2012 09:29

Congratulations cup! Following thread precedent nicely where drinking leads to a BFP Wink

welcome dog

I don't like the icky sticky man juice part of TTC either. Bleurgh. It's the only use I have for hips on pillow and then I run too the low going yuck yuck yuck - I find on top is better as less remains in to fall out!

CupOfBrownJoy · 15/04/2012 09:40

Thanks for the tip AWomanCalledHorse!

I'll be around 12 weeks on my hen do, so I'm going to have to come clean to my friends and wider family then! Erm, a hen not drinking... bit obvious!!

I want to tell close family earlier for support. My SIL had her first last October so I hope she's going to give me loads of tips. We're going to try to get to the doc next Monday (bit tricky as DP doesn't actually live with me at the moment and he only has Mondays off, so that's the only time we can both go) - after our appointment we'll talk about when to tell family.

I imagine once I hit 3 months my DM will want to tell the world, so by the time the wedding comes round most people will already know...

Oh I just want to tell everyone now!!!!! Grin

tiredteddy · 15/04/2012 09:57

Hi Dog nice to meet you Smile

Thanks Horse, still no sign of ERTD but I did buckle and poas but it's negative so I really don't know what's going on?

Congratulations Cup what lovely news. You are set for a wonderful year! Brilliant!

Can't remember who said "hope everyone's having a super shaggy Sunday " but it did make me chuckle Grin

Pinkie29 · 15/04/2012 10:00

Congrats cup Grin we've started using preseed this cycle (and instead cups) so many ppl seem to have success with them!! x

Pinkie29 · 15/04/2012 10:02

Sorry cup when you say you used preseed properly…?? I've just been using the individual applications x

CupOfBrownJoy · 15/04/2012 12:25

Well I'd not been using the applicators, and had only remembered once or twice, but last cycle I knew my fertile days and made sure I had a good old go with the applicator before each time!

I also took evening primrose each day before ov.

Could all be a coincidence obvs... but you never know Smile

Pinkie29 · 15/04/2012 12:46

Ah I see, the individual ones are good tho I feel a little odd inserting it haha! I'll have to purchase some epo Smile x
