Just Shagging - the lazy way to make a baby! Part, um, 8?

Over the last year or two we've had a thread for those who are Just Shagging. Confused by OPKs, too lazy to temp, can't read a chart to save your life? Not quite ready to forgo the Wine? Well stick with us!

Of course it's been SO successful that we're down to a tiny handful of regular posters, as everyone else has graduated and we'll ignore the fact that those of us that are left are probably way beyond Just Shagging. But it's an ethos rather than a strict rule. Come and join the fun Grin.

No rules here, other than EWCM is hereafter known as Pant Snot. AF is known as the Evil Red Tide of Doom (ERTD). Viroids is our name of choice, the reason is long since lost in the annals of time. If you really feel the need to take a test, Gu Ramekins are what all the classy birds are using. And of course, drinking is essential. Sometimes, we even remember to have sex Wink

So don your shag capes and throw your legs in the air caution to the wind :)

Old thread here if you want proof it works!

Morning all. Thanks something our holiday was really lovely 10 days in Rome. We managed just about all the sites and it was nice and warm.

We have no aldi or lidl where I live it's just a small market town really. We have a tiny M&S, a tiny sainsburys and a small waitrose and you can't manage a full shop in any of them.

I didnt quite get into buying lots of tests with either of my dS's. My first (now 7) was a surprise and my second (now 4) was a bfp after the first cycle of JS. I've been very lucky I know. Not sure where my cycle is at now though. Been off the pill since last summer with cycles anywhere between 22 and 28 days. I guess this is cycle 2 ttc number 3 for us and I think I am late. It was cycle day 26 on Monday and no sign of ERTD yet. This is day 30 so I am just looking out for signs now?

I don't know how to make things come as bold Blush yet!

But anyway Babylann a night out sounds fun. What will you get up to?

Awomancalledhorse, I would love three days to sort out all the holiday chaos!

Stuckinthefens, living apart in the week, do you mean "not" living apart now? Sorry I'm confused.

Hope everyone's ok?

lollypopsicle · 13/04/2012 10:14

something, disappointing, I know, but a fresh cycle is a fresh start.

Grin Awoman, lolling at your lucky Gollum postman.

Well I was reminded last night that a crying baby is a real passion killer when JSing. Never mind, eh!

StuckInTheFensAwayFromHome · 13/04/2012 15:02

somethingwitty thats a shame - hope you don't feel too rubbish... My theory is that a good orgasm is a better way to reduce period pain than paracetamol!

tiredteddy I think you have got it - we used to live apart during the week and I had a very cheap place to stay rather than a hotel. That jobs finished now so all that remains is to go and retrieve all my stuff tonight (and change my user name!)

lollypopsicle how inconvenient - does s/he not know you are trying to provide them with a sibling!

tiredteddy · 13/04/2012 16:10

Stuckinthefens,
Oh I'm glad I understood! something along the lines of "gladtobebackhomein..." maybe? Grin

somethingwittynot · 13/04/2012 17:58

have to take co-codamol for my badboy periods Sad

well i have some great news! if the checks go through okay we will be moving into our first family home within 2 weeks!! Grin Grin Grin

2012 has been an amazing year so far DS, engaged to DP, possibly our first home together. could i end the year baking a bean? Grin

babylann · 13/04/2012 18:10

tiredteddy it will probably just be a "night out on the town". Last time we drank some Wine at a friends house, went out for a birthday meal, and then went into a few night clubs. I haven't drunk so much for a good few years! I don't intend to drink as much next time (jaegerbombs did NOT agree with me), and will be sticking on the Wine. Still, far more than the recommended 1 glass a week or whatever it is that pregnant women are allowed to have!

Not that I think testing will be necessary. Been getting definite ERTD cramps today.

So anyway, in a TMI kind of way, I really hate JSing Confused I love the act of making a baby and sex is great of course, but afterwards... It's messy Hmm And I feel really dirty and uncomfortable until my next shower, even if I clean etc. I don't always get chance to shower straight afterwards... sometimes not for about 24 hours after the event. I prefer condoms, keeping that icky stuff contained :( Is that normal?

babylann · 13/04/2012 18:11

x-posted, way to go somethingwitty. Congratulations on your new home!

Persuasion · 13/04/2012 18:25

My phone is being crap so I can't really see anything else, but hope you're all JSing away whit abandon. I'm feeling the need to moan. Today there is bleeding. Coil out 2nd April (CD15), think I may have ovd next day. Withdrawal bleed (from the mirena) 4th-6th april. Ewcm last 3 days. No idea what the bloody hell my bits are up to despite this a tiny voice in my brain is whispering it may be implantation I guess at worst it's first proper AF. In which case who knows when the next is due (as it's early in that case).

Rant over Grin Blush

somethingwittynot · 13/04/2012 19:03

thankyou baby massive three bed flat over 2 floors Grin

Did I mention that my phone is crap?? Grin

Persuasion · 13/04/2012 21:41

Ahhh, cross posted. Congratulations something sounds very exciting.

babylann it definitely is a little more icky, especially if you're not used to it. Although I always found the feel of the condoms really disgusting so not sure which is worse Envy

somethingwittynot · 13/04/2012 22:37

its gross when it trickles out lol. i hate condoms to persuasion eww nothing like a bit of man juice though Grin

AWomanCalledHorse · 13/04/2012 22:40

something, yay for your year so far! Boo for your ERTD, I'm on tranexamic acid & iron tablets for my ERTD.

stuck sorry your contract isn't being renewed, as you've seen it coming..is it not going to hit you too hard financially? Have you discussed what you'd do if you get a BFP?

tired Envy Sounds like you had a great time in Rome! Glad the weather was really good.

Persuasion sounds crappy..does it take the body a while to adjust post coil? Are you going to be bleeding on/off for a while or is that it now?

babylann, I'm with you! I forget how messy it is after JS and panic that my pant snot has gone into overdrive...then I remember it's man mess. Although the one time I tried condoms I had a reaction to them so I prefer it this way..just Grin.
Do you use the tesco ownbrand nappies? I've found them to be the best in Ds' current size (DH uses the disposables, I've got the reuseables).

lolly, it's bad enough trying to JS & forget DC is alseep in the cot!!
I feel really bad for our Gollum, he has to lug my eBay wins around and when I was going to give him an xmas tip..I was in hospital. I'd feel odd giving him a tip now, esp after he's seen my boobs, if anything he should be paying me Grin

Have MIL staying over this weekend so she's volunteered to look after DS overnight (YAAAAAAAAAAAAY), which means I'm currently in the guest room ready for a night of hardcore sleeping. Earplugs and everythunk.

Welcome BeachBlue Grin

It is really icky... I've been using condoms since the first time. Condoms were even used during pregnancy! Without them, I feel quite uncomfortable. I don't even like the feeling of a naked willy going inside me, it's a lot more bumpy and awkward. Not to mention DP gets over excited at the extra friction and it lasts about 10 seconds. That's a blessing though really Blush

What can I do to enjoy it a bit more and not spend the entire time worrying about the ickyness to come? We might be at this for a while and I don't want to spend the next year or so with this face every time we have sex Confused

Have a great sleep Horse! We have a toddler free house tonight, DD is at nana's. We're lucky though, we get this once a week.

babylann · 13/04/2012 23:01

also agreeing with Beach something, I didn't want to say anything before because you were close to ERTD anyway and might have ended up pg already in which case you didn't need the extra stress, but now you're on a fresh cycle, maybe you should use the next week to book yourself in to see a GP. :)

End of the day, it's always going to be your choice and I'm sure you'll have support if you decide to go against medical advice (I know I wasn't going to be convinced otherwise after my EMCS)

AWomanCalledHorse · 13/04/2012 23:04

Welcome BeachBlue! In the nicest possible way, hope you're not around here too long Grin Are you upto anything nice this weekend or JS?

baby Envy Although surely with a toddler free house you should be JS DP's brains out?? Damn the lure of Mumsnet!!
Hmm, we always have a towel handy and I give my bits a quick wipe after...which helps take away a lot of the ick, but I can't think of anything to avoid the man mess that isn't detrimental to ttc!

babylann · 13/04/2012 23:24

Oh and sorry for missing before, no we don't use Tesco own brand. Unfortunately DD's skin doesn't seem to get on with any nappies apart from Pampers, so nappy buying is always so expensive for us :( She gets rashes within a day of trying to swap to any other brand, it's a big pain because it means there've been times where we've had to drive around for almost an hour to three different supermarkets just to get nappies for her.

No point in JSing his brains out, I don't think! Only a few days, maybe hours, before ERTD with descend I think... Doesn't matter anyway, I have hideous PMS (and smoking cravings) and so I've just been snappy with him all night, I even know I'm doing it, I just can't help it! He doesn't deserve it, but it does feel like he's been irritating me on purpose.

Like, he went to the supermarket to buy us a couple of pizzas for dinner. I'm not the biggest fan of pizza but he assured me this pizza is beautiful (he bought himself one when I was out once and loved it). I said, "Okay, as long as you don't get me a pizza with beef, pork, pineapple or mushrooms on." He comes back with a plain cheese and tomato pizza with meatballs on for me... The cheese tasted like fat, and I hate meatballs on pizza. It was horrible. I should have been grateful I guess that he even went, but I was just angry that he'd completely ignored my requests. Petty and stupid - I'm quite aware! But I've just been so short tempered tonight.

He'd probably rather sleep on the settee than JS with me tonight! :(

somethingwittynot · 13/04/2012 23:28

woman im allergic to that and mefenemic acid and any non-sterodial drugs Sad means my pain options are paracetamol co-codamol codine and then the strong shit lol. pethadine oramorph morphine GA Grin

okay re doctor i actually went this morning. he said its totally up to me and my partner when we dicide to have no.2. he said i may feel more rlp than last time and my scar may feel sore but in no way will it spilt or anything like that in late pregnancy when everything stretches. he looked at my last blood results and has put me back on those fucking iron tablets as levels are 7.2.

he did tell me to take it carefully if i do full pregnant and said i will be under consultant led care and monitored quite a bit especially bp and urine and any rise/protien will be noted straight away. he looke back over my notes and the only thing that could of contributed to my pre-term labour was a bit of cervical shortening. he said there was no reason i shouldnt carry to term unless of a repeat of pre-term labour of sever pet.

he did state that both these things could happen again and becausei had such a severe form of pet that would be the main concern in a next pregnancy.

i will also have early scan as in last pregnancy due to previous history and will have growth scans to check on the placenta and bubs because problems with the placenta can be a sign of/caused by pet

also turns out i might have some adhesions from my emcs. ive got this kind of sticky out lump above my belly button and when ive got ERTD i get shooting pains in it Sad

somethingwittynot · 13/04/2012 23:29

also going back to docs on monday for my fucking hand

Sorry to hear you might have adhesions. Thinking about it I also have a sticky out lump above my belly button. My stomach is so flabby and horrible I never really notice it unless I'm in the bath. It never hurts though, and I've had surgery on my stomach since EMCS and the surgeon never mentioned it.

But glad to hear you got the go ahead, if you're happy with that :)
