Oh x-posted. Get DH to speak to the head of midwives and insist you stay in - given your history they should follow the consultant's decision.

A quickie from me as on train with lack of good signal but good news from me and the 20 week scan! Feels like something of a milestone. All measuring well, even got a 4d look at the face! Looks like a cross between dh and an alien :) I still feel like crap though so retiring to Brighton and the couch/ bed for the weekend.

Holl sorry you are still in limbo, I know how awful that can be. Do they say how far they think you are along?

Slogan sorry it's not going to plan, try not to be sad though as I have heard of this happening quite regularly and it's far better to wait at home rather than be in hospital if it's going to be later than thought. Remember in the scheme of things one day here or there wont matter too much and baby wiill soon be with you

A doctor Just scanned me and babies head still high do she is speaking to another consultant at 5pm so looks like I'll probably be home by 6pm with no baby. I'm so angry and really really upset I just don't know what to do. DH nipped our before the scan and I can't get an answer on his mobile so I'm even more upset. Surely they can't send me home can they? They say there is no point in inducing me, so why the hell did my consultant book it?

I don't know what to suggest Stogan, how able do you feel to stand your ground with the new doctor and get them to refer to the original one? Otoh they obviously think your baby is doing just fine in there for now. I think you should see whoever the consultant on duty is, if you haven't already. We are not "normal" pg people to be honest and they shouldn't mess with the treatment you had agreed and were happy with.

It's fine that the baby is doing well and is happy but if that was the case then why did my consultant want me induced? I can't seem to get my head around that, am I being thick?

Have you seen the consultant on duty or just a registrar?
They need to answer precisely the question you've just asked.
Of course you're upset.

Oh poor stogen, they must had a reason to induce? Maybe the midwives can help stand your ground for you?

Thanks digi and free, I measured at around 5.4 wks so almost two weeks out but he seemed to be happy with thr growth over the last 4 days and do am I. I think my ovulation/ implantation must be later than thought. I hope so. Otherwise it's small if look at LMP, but the growth from Monday today is what uou'd expect plus I have felt crap which I'm thinking must have been pregnancy related.
Anyway I'm pleased it'd developed since mon, next scan in a week so we'll see

Consultant has agreed with me completely and want to try to start everything off. Just had first pills and now on monitor until 7pm. Am having heavier an more regular contractions so fingers crossed ! Will be reassessed at 11.30 and then more pills and then they are going to try and break my waters in morning if nothing. If then nothing we go home for 48 hours then come back and try again. I'm happy with that, much more stressed out than I should be and pretty angry still but happier

Holldoll I think growth appropriate for time passed is excellent news, well done for hanging in there.
And Free, another good scan! I like a nice long scan like the 20 wk one, gives you time to calm back down from the inevitable "is there a hb" moment and actually enjoy looking at baby!
I was back at doctors today, I have an express route from my flat just for me by now. Concerned about leg pain last night, convinced had dvt.

Good progress holldoll such a worry but things seem to be doing what they should for dates.

Yay for good scan news. Where is the FMC? Is there one, or do they have them in all hospitals?

stogan What a day you're having... Glad to know you're back on track with things and hoping it all gets going soon so you don't have too much longer to wait. I can't contribute on practicalities, although am intrigued by bouncing on a birthing ball... Is that like an exercise ball?!

All these things I hope to find out more about for myself in due course, but for now I'm just sat here willing our first Pred baby to make his/ her appearance!!

stogan - keep on the move while you can, and all will be well! I was told with my dd that despite on-off contractions for days that she was very high and no dilation/softening etc and that it would be days before she arrived. I wallked around moaning at my mum for a couple of hours and then less than 7 hours later I was breastfeeding my dd! Don't listen to docs trying to send you home, just trust your body to go for it. I have faith that it will happen tonight for you.

As for me, I am already convinced I am preggo again, I know that pred masks symptoms, but can it mimic them too? I am sure next week I will be back to day 1, but right now I am wondering.

Still here ladies babs just doesn't want to come out. Just had another sweep and they r given me my second prostin at 9am. I feel ok but very hungry but the doc has just said I won't be going home now until I have the baby so hats a massive bonus for me !! My BP still high so monitoring me every 30 mins but other than that all fine. Just have a very stubborn wriggly child ! X

Bad news from me today as just did two preg tests and not even a faint line. Looks like its another chemical. Can't believe my bad luck of 2 in 3 months. Intrallipids were a waste of money. Can someone move me off the list?

Have moved Choccy to waiting to test and also added 2 days to all the BFPs. If any of you have more scan dates to add (Digi and PQ when are your next ones?) PQ I have a feeling yours is with Mr S next week...? Anyone else need to add/change details and can't be @rsed with messing with the dates - do it today. Good luck Stogan!! HAPPY INDUCTION DAY! Oh Sue no! That's really unlucky.

In answer to your earlier question, I won't be doing superov this cycle as I should be starting the IVF downregging on day 21. I say "should" because at the moment I'm not sure I want to. In any event, I am on holiday somewhere fairly remote over ov of this cycle, so because of the OHSS symptoms I had on my second cycle of superov I never wanted to do it when I will be a long way from a Western hospital.

Bit depressing in chez PQ this morning - more spotting/bleeding and wondering if I need an anti d shot. I've had it with mmc in the past but I was much further along. Think it's too early to have it with this bleeding but it is niggling. Guess I can wait and ask mr s when I have the scan with him on Monday. That and the aspirin question - which is a good point digi. at the moment I haven't stopped anything but obviously blood thinners are a concern if there's a great big patch of "bleeding" on my uterus (even I could see it on the scan).

We were also supposed to be heading away today for a much anticipated two nights in a hotel on the coast but DS has just vomited everywhere so might need to take him to hospital (he's got a minor metabolic problem - not pfb!) . Plus I'm freaking out about if it's catching and I start being sick how I'm going to keep the pred down and work out my dosage. I feel pretty queasy but don't know what is in my head/morning sickness/DS lurgy. just following him around with a bucket and hoping it was just a coughing fit gone very wrong.

Sorry to be such a gloom merchant. Hope everyone else is ok and I'm looking fwd to some baby stogan news some time today!

sue im so sorry, how disappointing, i think the hardest thing with a lot of us the the loss of the ability to hope with out a lot of negative vibes attached to it , and the more this happens the harder it gets, im really sorry you have to go through this again, i hope and pray next time all will be ok.

i've finally got all clear from epau, went on wed and scan says everything back to normal, now just waiting for next period and sore breasts say that may be sometime next week, packed my suitcase with all pressies for family and not sure if i have any room for me !
